He supplied mine and it was POD. The woods were okay in quality, the only issue I had was with the length. So tell him and emphasis that the length must be accurate and if there are lesser ones, the difference should not be more than 2ft. Anything beyond that should be unacceptable. The guy is a nice guy. I did mine POD too with him (@hslbroker2) and I never had to worry about anything.

The only issue I have is my carpenter has been mad that I didn’t allow him to see the supplier because he want to tell him all his woods are bad

first, gussets can NEVER make a tank stand fail. As important as they are, they can NEVER make a tank stand fail.

When building a tank stand, first consider the foundation. A tank stand is as good as the foundation. In the case of subject under discussion, the foundation was too wide. So the weight of the tank wasn't resting on the channels leading to the foundation. For a tank that high, standalone foundation won't work but chained foundation like in the picture below

Weight of the load. This tank stand was constructed for two 750 gallons of water at maximum but the owner went and used a 1000 gallons and 500 gallons. The weight was disproportionate which led to the failure.

Another thing is quality of materials. The quality of iron is dropping daily and getting more expensive too. So most times when finance is highly constrained, contractors go for the cheapest alternative. 1½" angle iron is currently looking like 1¼" and it's lighter too.


Even when all these are adhered to, experience and professionalism is important.

From all indications, the problem is not from the foundation but inability of the structural members to withstand the stress imposed.

What’s the guarantee this is caused by paucity of fund?

What if the owner paid more and the installer is not experienced enough to handle such work?

I had a similar experience on a site. The installer bought good materials but failed to use gusset plate where necessary. We had to decommission and reinstall.

If it’s exactly what you shared, it’ll cost a little less than 15k if you’re using 16mm rod.

Why aren’t you considering using square pipe or square rods instead of the type of rod you chose?

Note: I’m not a welder. I give price based on what I’d pay my welder to fabricate this as a contractor while providing him with all the tools he need to achieve the work.

Easier to maintain but using cable tray is more expensive than normal PVC pipes.
Also, you can not use single core cable on cable trays. You have to go for flexible cables i.e double insulation cable which is 2-core, 3-core cables

I agree completely but this is a commercial project.

In few days, I’ll be pulling some cables in one of my ongoing projects and we chose to do cable tray.

My client asked “Why?”

I replied “It makes visual inspections of cables possible and easier. Also it’s much easier and less stressful to maintain cables in trays.”

It was indeed glorious day for business administration students National diploma as they are the first set to ever graduated at the ikorodu campus
They started the journey in 2018,it suppose to finished in 2020 but because of the global pandemic it reached out to 2021.

But my major concerns is the signout polo slighted on this particular student of the institutions.

This guy could be insulting lecturer and he could be encouraging students to buy and reads their textbooks and pass exam.

This is a detailed architectural floor plan on a 50by100fit plot which comprises of a 3bed room flat in the front with an ante room and a laundry, all rooms ensuit and a bed seater attached behind from my Engineer. I would appreciate any constructive criticism, any feedback that would help me out.

You can get a better design/room layout with good circulation space.

The Covid19 lockdown made me have a rethink on florals. I have 3 coconut tree. I took one down last year while planning a new build.
I was just doing my coconut with garri and fresh fish from my pond jeje when there was movement restriction.
