Austinosconst: My brother this is wrong. You should have done this with a weak concrete instead of the blocks to carry the weights of those beams. Secondly you should have used a stretcher bond since you decided to use blocks. That’s not my work. It’s the next building to XL6 Trillion | Atrium House. Nice observation. Thanks for sharing with us. ___________ Pic - Take a good look at the design of Grills, Fins and the Cantilevered Slab at XL6 Trillion.

Valuepaints20: Ok thanks If I were you, I'd hearken to the king you to lower the volume of aggressive marketing strategy. I'd showcase my ongoing and old projects instead. I'd use the opportunity the platform afford to share cutting-edge solutions with the forum users. ---------- On the flip side, I recently used your paint and I really love the packaging but not how it turned out few months later. I can show you the picture of paintings I did 9 years ago using another paint and the painting I did last year using your paint. It didn't come out well at all. What could be wrong? I knew I used your paint outdoor which is exposed to extremely harsh condition, could this be the problem? Are there better quality that I can use for outdoor applications? I'd be repainting my fence the 2nd time in less than 1 year. Pls kindly advise sir. Thank you. ___________ NB: I don't do cheap stuff. So please kindly let me know if there are better product from your coy to use outdoor. |

KelvinCoaster: This is marvelously wonderful. n3xt,keep up with the innovations. The sky can't be your limit...Kudos! . The question to ask ourselves is “Why should we pay more for a door with 9in frame when the same door with 4in frame can do the same job and it’d even cost lesser to build? - The thickness of a standard door is less than 50mm - The thickness of the frame of most Chinese Door, American Panel Door and most internal doors in the market is by standard around 100 - 150mm. - The thickness of most Aluminum Materials used for sliding doors and windows is at most 150mm for a 3 track or more sliding door. - The thickness of conduit pipes for most services in a residential building (gas, electricity, internet, telephony, access control, etc) is at most 25mm (except in rare occasion do we use 50mm for larger cables). In standard construction, you don’t even need it. So, Why exactly do we need a 9in Wall?In the past, internal walls were restricted to around 100mm - 150mm which is more than enough to satisfy building regulations worldwide. IMHO, 100 - 150mm blocks became an issue when the conduit piping trend begun.

Designing for Speed and Cost Efficiency
The method we choose to build will have implications on practically every level of our project – costs, construction speeds and energy efficiency level.
With the current increase in the cost of building materials, what construction techniques and practices that can reduce labour content and save time and money are you adopting?
Pls share with us

I’m currently exploring 4” non-load bearing sandcrete blocks for my internal partitions on framed structure builds. I’m also working on up to 3500psi reinforced sandcrete blocks for applications where load-bearing walls are required.
Lastly, I’m working on some concrete wall panels which requires no plastering and are pre-installed with all the necessary services.

In 2013, we experimented trenching of utilities pipes for domestic water circuit, sewage, drainage, roof gutter sprout during substructure stage. It was very tough for me to convince the plumber (recommended by the owner of the project) to work with while implementing these approach.
About the same time, I implemented the same solution while working on the perimeters of one of my personal builds and it was a huge success.
Here are images from our first install 8 years ago. My next post will showcase where we are heading in the not-too-distant future.

somehow: What I don't understand is the lifespan put at 10 to 20 years, does it become obsolete or how does it work?
Maybe I should ask the engineer before I am directed to Google Na! You might just need to perform some upgrades. Depending on the type of solution you have, the coconut husk, the enzymes and all other materials used for the installation might require replacement/upgrade as the system ages with time. But with good preventative maintenance, I think you can have the system running for even more years. |

diordaves: You are easily carried away you this boy.
Comparing your local GTBank and your Church Branch with a 6 flat set-up is positing from a position of arrant ignorance. It is comparing apples and oranges really relative to the discussion. A 6 flat structure will use more water and put more pressure on a Bio Digester than your local bank branch. How?
100% of people at your local bank don't do their laundry at the bank. 100% of people at your local bank don't do their dishes at your local bank branch 100% of customers at your bank don't have their bath and jacuzzi soak at your bank 99.9% of customers at your bank don't use the bank toilet for number 2 or even number 1.
So your GTbank for this specific situation can operate Bio Digester because of the very limited use of the WC. For this situation, Bio Digester may work effortlessly. With regards to your church, they may have a gutter to channel the water to or enough acreage to bury wastewater.
However, for a 6 flat structure with the limited size of the digestion chamber, the chamber will be overwhelmed if a contraption containing 30 people (in a 6 flat as someone said earlier) all decide to have their bath, do their dishes, do their laundry on a given day (say Saturday morning). The chamber is not big enough to contain such an inflow of 2000 ltrs of wastewater a day. The Biodigester will fail. This is basic science.
So if there are no public drains (gutter) at the site as I earlier said, the conventional Bio Digester will not do for a big commercial household contraption. The Bio Digester contractor needs to implement the "Extreme Bio Digester" option to channel wastewater into. (see photo attached).
Now the question is: will extreme Bio Digester work? It depends. Extreme Bio Digester means just burying the wastewater underground and using rocks to prevent collapse and then cover the rocks with sand. So if you have a tight space, this will pose a problem as the convention is to keep water away from your foundation. Extreme Bio Digester so close to the structure (foundation) can lead to subsidence and cracks and even collapse. If this was written by my 10yo, I knew exactly what to do. I’d hand him one of my home improvement books to read until he understand basic plumbing and water system in the house. As for 2000 liters, 30 people illustration. It’s nothing compared to me who haven’t had to do any evacuation in my house in the last 1 decade. Guess what I have... 2 families with 10 people and a crèche with about 20 kids that will poo and require cleanup on a daily basis. I’m not bothered because the system is in place to take care of the waste waters for as long as the earth exists Now this one I can flood here with pictures of how I did it. _______ On a flip side, what do you think is the essence of a soakaway in a septic tank system?

While this is not necessarily their only source of learning, the most effective source is a group with a shared interest (properties) and shared purpose (how to do properties best).

jabolo: Are you having a bad day? You sound unusually cranky.
The questions asked above are quite innocent and I'm curious as well. No one is throwing brickbats. We're trying to learn. Learning is what the adults will do for a living in the 21st century. On this particular subject, I don't know more than you. I just pick up my phone and do further research on the topic to update my limited knowledge. If all of us can't do that, I think learning should start from understanding how to research products and solutions. |
