i dont know which one is ur problem, playing dumb or actually being dumb. yes, through out history, slaves and immigrants have always affected places where they go or settle; blacks slaves in america have affect the language and culture and even long affect slavery, blacks and other immigrants keep affecting the usa's lingo and cultural face; israelis did it to the egyptians and to the babylonians and many more examples abound. as long as there is integration in the human society, nothing especially language remains the same.

Well what can I say MEN!!!

This is how devious they are. My husband has been depriving me of sex for weeks as he hasn't been happy with me!! Nothing I do can ever please him and I try. It was his birthday this week and I made a special meal for him, shopped and cooked all day and mad ehim pounded yam, nigerian stew, suya and jolloff rice. He had birthday cards of me and son and £50 cash and I sat by his side massaging him all night while he watched football. Then bed he did not want sex! He said it was a nice night but then morning after hge scolds me saying i'm selfish, food wasn't nice, should have done something else,

Anyway after feeling really bad and throwing rest of food away, Friday he comes home and asks where food is, Why? I ask if it was so bad, well I don't want it to go to waste. Then he goes out and calls me to tell me hes left his phone in car, i go get it now normally he locks his phones, always been a bit suspicious of that and lately he has given me doubts as i received a loved up message that I was sure was not aimed for me.

I find on his phone a luvvy message from a girl, ok i think could be innocent well that is until I find her picture with a note saying can't wait to meet u xxxxxxx. So I call the girl to find out he met her online, flirting chatting by text and planning to meet. I tell her i'm his wife and she calls him cheat etc and says she aint inyterested, ok. I call him and he admits that yes he's been talking. I then ask him who the other woman is on his phone he's been calling (from call log) he says his ex! I know he had an ex by this name, but I text her and ask. She calls me and relays how she is not his ex but has been seeing him last 2 weeks again met online and slept with him Tuesday the night before his birthday, he told her he was Ghanian, not nigerian and so on and on.

I tell my husband who swears blind he hasn't and he rings her in front of me and denies it. He then concocts a story how it is really his ex and they planned the hoax together to teach me a lesson for snooping! a likley story, he says she'll text me to confirm this, no text, I don't think i'm buying this. Today is my birthday and he called this morning to say happy birthday, yea some happy birthday and to continue to deny it.

He has cheated before so I know he's lying, but this is just to say men can be so devious and the internet just makes cheating so much easier for men like him. Beware

THE KALABARI LANGUAGE - AFTER 1700 YEARS

Eliezer Ben Yehuda (1858-1922) regarded as "the father of modern Hebrew Language" was quoted as saying "a nation is its language". This man and his family single-handedly revived the Hebrew Language 1700 years after it was officially used as the language of Israel. The people of Israel were exiled to several nations of the world from AD 70. It was in 1948 they came back to their native land. Few years before in 1882-, Eliezer Ben Yehuda began to revive the language forming new words to accommodate the new English vocabulary of the present time. At first, he was seen as a dreamer, often persecuted with no funds to work with. Nevertheless, he and his family persisted. On top of that he was having serious ailment but he kept on.

Many told Ben-Yehuda it couldn't be done and many told him it shouldn't be done. Happily, he didn't listen. Instead, he reunited the Jewish people with their ancient language and at the same time gave them a voice in the modern world. His efforts yielded result and today the Hebrew Language is the official language of Israel – used in their parliament, universities, industries, etc. Imagine a man (and later other linguists) formulating Hebrew words for all the intricate & many names in Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Astronomy, Medicine, Law, Engineering, etc as used now in their universities. And, permit me to remind you, that Israel is one of the best technologically & scientifically advanced nation.

No wonder, when Eliezer Ben Yehuda died, 30,000 people followed his casket to the cemetery and the governemnt declared a three-day mourning for him. What a way to honour a hero!. In the Kalabari Kingdom, the man who had attracted the biggest crowd till date in his burial was Late Chief (Dr) Nabo Graham-Douglas. Practically everything edible in any store in Abonnema that day was bought up. Wave upon wave of people thronged to the "York City". Still, the number is a far cry to that that attended the funeral of Eliezer Ben Yehuda.

Suppose we as a people were to be dispersed to the nations of the world, can we come back after 1700 years and still meet our language with THE ATTITUDE SOME OF US ARE SHOWING REGARDING THE PRESERVATION AND USE OF OUR MOST-CHERISHED LANGUAGE?

I was at the swearing-in ceremony of ASALGA councilors at Buguma. From the opening prayer, to oath-of-office administration, to the closing prayer, all was done in English. IF WE CANNOT OFFER SIMPLE PRAYER IN KALABARI, tell me, is it in the learning of Nuclear Physics or Space science or Petro-chemical Engineering or Neuro-surgery, etc that we will use the Kalabari Language [ It is in the Hebrew Language Universities in Israel learn all these tough courses!!!)

One of our attitudinal problems has been: YE KE YE SIN-AA. And it is setting us back in every area of our life as a nation – not only in our general apathy to the preservation & use of the Kalabari Language. When we develop this attitude in what we think are "irrelevant issues", before we know it, many other issues very politically, economically, socially and spiritually relevant have eluded us. MAY THAT NEVER BE, AMEN.

They have seem a superficial perception of wealth that keeps them running around in circles.

Many of them coming out of tertiary institutions are patronising smart guys who promise them scholarships to do master's degrees abroad.

The responsibility of a male shouldering all financial demands(including demands based on greed?) came about as a result of a socio-economy
where females are by default, economically disadvantaged. In the present socio-economy, females are allowed to engage in direct competition with men for education, employment and assets.

The issue of these "poor girls" should not be swept under the carpet. A large percentage of these girls have contempt for their male kind and expect to be treated better by targeted material messiahs. They are the ones who are easily trafficked into prostitution in Europe after being promised free Master's degrees and money that exists only in European kindergarten fairy tales!

They are the ones  who have abused the 'eating out' culture, but cool down when they are in their 30s after they realise the need for
self-dignity and self-respect.
