Unfortunately, I fell into that trap last year. I gave the guy $100 then he gave me N12,000 which he counted in front of me and then gave me to count. I counted it correct, but he said no, theres 1 missing, let me give him to count again. Then he counted and said ok correct now. I went into the room to find 5k short. When I was telling a taxi driver the next day, he said thats whats they always do and if you go back to try and challenge them, they bring out fake dollars out and start creating a scene as if you brought fake dollars. The guys sharp smiley
i wont call that sharp, those are the kinda things that are leading us to no where

NYSCRe: Help Please! Advice For Expatriate Going For Nysc by na2day2(m): 6:21am On Apr 01, 2009

why go to wiki, use a dictionary, nysc is about one's citizenship, and under nigerian law, if u have a single parent as nigerian, u r nigerian too, so she is not an expatriate in terms of citizenship which is the requirement for a graduate to participate in the program period.

Kindly state where you got this from. I need you to tell me exactly where(in the constitution/law) it states what you posted.
You are only Nigerian IF you apply for citizenship. If your mum is Nigerian and you don't APPLY for citizenship, you are not a NIGERIAN citizen.
As far as i'm concerned, if you have any other passport and don't have a Nigerian passport, you are an EXPATRIATE for work purposes hence the OP is correct. Answer her question and stop making a fool out ya self.
have u ever applied for a nigerian passport b4? and in case u miss my point, i will help u clarify it, she is no expatriate to nigeria based on citizenship, she may work as one, that will depend on how a company choose to treat her but what is required for NYSC is simple (1) u must be a graduate of some sort, (2) u r 30 and below in age, (3) u r a citizen of nigeria. number 3 is the bone of contention, and to clarify that i will use my experience: when i went to apply 4 my passport at immigration, i found out that u must produce ur original birth certificate, if born in nigeria, that automatically validates ur nigerian citizenship if one parent is nigerian. and there is a form u will fill out, these info on it for u to read. i had lost my original birth cert when we moved, so they asked for proof of origin from LGA and a sworn affidavit for birth. the form they gave me clearly states who can lay claim to a nigerian citizenship and having 1 nigerian parent was a criterion, and just to let u know, my neighbor who was born in france got his passport b4 i did, so did many of my friends that was born abroad(granted, some of their parents were diplomats but, they were still born abroad). during my NYSC, i had a yoruba girl in my platoon that was born and raised in the USA, they got her paper work done in her LG and she served without any issues (apart from the time she slapped a soldier and almost got all of us killed for her stupidity grin grin ) . like i said b4, she is no expatriate citizenship wise, especially the fact that nigeria recognizes dual-citizenship and she is certainly not the first to come serve in nysc that was born abroad.

native means you were born somewhere, the poster is not native to nigeria, her parents are born in nigeria, men thats why people find it difficult to pass simple waec english in naija

Hotstepper:
@na2day?, if she wanna do NYSC, she can do that but my point is that she can work in Nigeria as an EXPATRIATE without undergoing NYSC if she got hired directly where were she is

now, assuming she has to Nigerian passport, does she require to get one to enable her undergo NYSC or not? I just wanna know
nope, passport is just one form of proving citizenship, she could get a letter from her local government and the story will end

Na wah 4 Nigerians ooooooo, abeg, u guys should give her a break and answer the question she asked if you wish to and not da whole insult coming up. and hmm who is really an expatriate which is wat sum people have been asking here with no answer? whether her both parents including herself are Nigerians and have  no Nigerian passport and get to work in Naija, she is an expatriate or do u guys think it only applies to non Nigerians or non Africans per se?

If she is Nigerian and gat no Nigerian passport, why should she not be allowed into Nigeria without a Nigerian visa. That is the same logic and I dont think she is here to show off, phewwwww kraaaaaaa
please use the dictionary and check the meaning of expatriate. if u have any native connection to a place, u r no expatriate to that place citizenship wise period.
Typical nigerian attitude.
This is an anonymous forum. Who is she forming for? Do you know her or does she know you? Abeg quit all the baby rants.
By the way, whats the point of the excerpt you have posted as well? You claim someone wants to show off and you have done justice to that by posting your family history!! huh
whatever u r smoking u need to get off it bcoz it is killing ur brain cells. i just pointed out to u that many nigerians(including some of my family and friend) born and breed outside our naive land dont go home saying they are expatriate, they may have questions or doubts which is only human but to classify themselves as expatriate will just be plain stupid and that's my bone of contention with the poster, simply put, "SHOW OFF".

FYI: i was born and breed in nigeria, lived in the ghetto, AJ 4 life but inferior to no one, and yes i have the typical nigerian attitude, that's why ppl see me and say "NIGERIAN, BLOOD AND SOUL!" ~~typicality cool cool
NYSCRe: Help Please! Advice For Expatriate Going For Nysc by na2day2(m): 3:03pm On Mar 28, 2009
dude, u need to hush. there is a difference between sum1 who comes to ask 4 advice meekly and sum1 who comes to show off; if u show off, u deserve wateva u get. i live and work here in the states and i have been blessed but i dont go ramming that down ppl's throat. my folks were born and breed here but they go to naija constantly and even set up biz, they blend with the folks back home easily. my friend ify, he is a butter of all butters, he was born and breed here, he is also bi-racial(his mom is white) but once he lands the air-port the switch mode to aje-pako, no shakins. expatriate my ass.
