PoliticsRe: Fashola Reverses Firing Of 34 Doctors (Out Of 788) by NaMe4: 7:22am On May 31, 2012
leo083: Guys pls pls n pls, enough of these lies in the media, the 34 drs that were claimed to be reinstated were never fired in the first place cos they were on leave when they sacked the 788 drs, fashola n the media are deceiving people, Only God will judge
The Lagos State government had an agreement (about 3 years ago) with the doctors to follow the unified salary structure for doctors in the Country.
The Lagos State government has simply failed to fulfill their part of the agreement for 3 years and running. And it baffles me that some people on this forum have decided to support this show of irresponsibility by this state government.

As far as I'm concerned, this just goes to show the level of commitment of the govt. in developing their state (at least most other States do not take healthcare for granted). No wonder our roads, power supply, etc are a joke. They'll make agreements with contractors, once the job begins, the govt. will renege on the agreement leaving the project to an indefinite halt.

Besides, virtually ALL other States in the Country pay the CONMESS to doctors working for the States. Even got to learn that in Borno State, the salary is an even "improved" CONMESS, and so it is in many other States.
So why all these breaking of agreements and lies by the Lagos state government?

The most ridiculous of all is the claim that some of the doctors are reapplying for work with the state; when in REALITY there is a NATIONWIDE Strike by doctors (for 3 days, with a 2-week ultimatum to follow) for the Lagos state govt. to withdraw the sack issuance and implement the CONMESS).

The govt. should just do the right thing and stop spreading lies in the media.
HealthRe: Federal Doctors In Lagos Begin Solidarity Strike For Sacked Colleagues by NaMe4: 10:15pm On May 18, 2012
mbulela: This type of post is part of the problem.
What exactly are doctors striking for?
Is it late salaries? is it a lack of accommodation?
What exactly is this strike about?
By the way, your sister doctor works in LUTH and that is a federal institution not a LASG org.
Your sister doctor is lucky her own is since Jan. i know a guy who is a consultant and has been working for one of these federal teaching hospitals and has not been paid since he was absorbed around March last year. Dude has a family and has been surviving on his wife's salary and PPs.
Haba! Working for months without pay? This is serious!
The same set of people running the Country for decades with impunity, the same masses chastening one another to remain 'suffering and smiling'.

The true test
of a leader is his/her faithfulness to collective agreements, for
Machiavellianism is never welcome in a people-led democracy.
There is a crisis in Lagos and a few people are here praising Fashola for playing politics with the lives of the State citizens.
It seems many Nigerians like to learn the hard way!

Demdem: No tsav, I disagree with u. Azazi still advises the retardeen and that's why he is still the nsa. Am not sure if the retardeen listens to him. He has once told us he knows boko sponsors. Has the retardeen given instructions for their arrest no matter how powerful they may be? How am I sure it isn't out of frustration that azazi had to come out in public to tell us where these sponsors are found? Remember, nsa hardly talk about these issues in public. At worst, the sss will speak out.
CyberG: Azzazi spoke out because he is tired of telling Odechukwudi Jolantan the same thing EVERYDAY! His job is to advice but after he has exhausted everything and the foolishe president refused to act, he came out and told the world: "I HAVE ADVISED HIM AND TOLD HIM EXACTLY WHAT TO DO" but he likes you people dying so before he sacks me and constitutes another committee: Odechukwu Badluck is the monster behind the BH and his PDP killers!

See wetin this thread don turn to. The stupid thing is that many Nigerians, including Igbo, Yoruba & Northerners got killed or injured less than 24hrs ago.
PoliticsRe: Prof Ayodele & Prof Andrew Leo Were Killed In BUK Attack by NaMe4: 2:41am On Apr 30, 2012
olaheavy: Bleep you, asshole! Yes, the Boko Haram killers' primary aim was to target the Igbo cannibals and other Eastern maggots, however, if during the melee a Westerner who happened to be Christian or Muslim or Atheist was caught in a crossfire, so be it. It's called "accident," bitch! AND, BITCHES, STOP REFERRING TO YORUBA AS "SOUTHERNERS" -- WE'RE WESTERNERS! YOU YINMINRIN MAGGOTS CAN GO FORM YOUR OWN "SOUTHERN COUNTRY" ALONE. PLEASE, DON'T FORGET TO PACK UP AND LEAVE LAGOS AND OTHER YORUBA TERRITORIES AND Bleep OFF TO YOUR CAVES IN THE EAST! BLOODY Igbo HUMAN EATERS!
HEY! A good percentage of those delibrately killed in cold blood especially in the North East are not of Igbo origin.
If you have anyone to contact there to verify this, do so fast (so you can also talk him out of any delusional state he might be in; that's if you get out of yours).

Damn! These guys kill their kinsmen who they 'perceive' to be against their activities. So what makes you think in your little delusional world that a Yoruba dude is most welcome by such guys. WAKE UP MAN!

The reason why the effect seems to be more on the Igbos is because of their higher population in these places (which shouldn't be a crime as they are Nigerians) and their easily identifiable features eg an Igbo man in these areas today, would still blast Igbo language to his fellow Igbo man on the phone or if conversing some metres away (Seems to be some form of solidarity and defiance).

Every part of this Country has suffered losses from this unfortunate development.

So in your mind, you think the gunmen in this BUK incident were so myopic to assume that ALL the worshippers were of Igbo extraction. Abi?
You think they were certain that Yorubas or even Christians from Kano State were not in the church? Or their bombs & bullets were made to select the Igbo guys?

WTH are you talking about?
Is that part of the Country's constitution or is PDp's problem supposed to be Nigeria's problem?

From what you wrote, Nigerians should sit back while a bunch of rogues make 'gentleman agreements' on their heads?

If another political party was in power (fielding a Southerner), would aggrieved PDP members still scheme out these attrocities?

JaaizTech: Boko Haram is tearing Nigeria apart, Bros. GEJ act now declare state of emergency everywhere and anywhere Boko-Haram attacks. And make it clear that the only condition for return of democratically elected governors will be for peace to rain. That is the only way forward, state of emergency. If the politicians are stifled, then they will wake up and fight this fight themselves.
Declaring State of Emergency is not going to solve this or make any significant impact - speaking from happenings in those States where it has been put in place.

FACT- Killings have been going on in Maiduguri, virtually on a daily basis, many of which occur after the onset of the curfew. Up to the point there are no spaces in the morgues to keep the deceased.

This government has to do something proactive!

akanbi a a: What ever happens we should be carefull of our utterances because the evil people that do such things logical aim is to destabilize the nation by making people have hate based on existing sterotype that one religion is the cause and the other victim.the more we argue, hate and put blames the more the common enemy wins by achieving their own aim too so the way forward is to seperate religion from it and face the criminals wearing the mask of religion to cause problem.
That's true, but the C in C has to make certain important and make-sense decisions to tackle this issue in any meaningful way even though he may be uncertain of what complications may arise.

If this terror is not tackled from the root/head, regardless the level of success the government makes arresting peripheral issues eg bombers, spokesmen, this problem would still linger on or reoccur at a later time.

kay9: I am shell-shocked. What in God's name is this...this madness?
All my life i've tried to be objective, to think twice before accusing another of a crime... I'm trying sooo hard to remember that the average northern muslim actually hates Boko Haram, but my God, its so hard. So hard! What in God's name have STUDENTS and LECTURERS worshipping in their church on a Sunday done these bas.tards?? Ehn, what? Whathuh embarassed
(Muslim) Northerners, tommorrow another of your 'erudite' elders will strut out and propose that the government ''negotiates'' with Boko Haram, citing the case of the NDelta militants as a precedent; please HOW MANY NORTHERNERS DID MEND/MILITANTS KILL?? HOW MANY MUSLIMS WORSHIPING IN THEIR MOSQUES DID THEY BOMB?? How exactly in God's name a right-thinking humanbeing proposes amnesty for MASS-MURDERING TERRORISTS is totally beyond me! Wtf?!
-
Now they've progressed to attacking universities... Our president is a buffoon; our senators and reps are busy forming committees, paying lip service and stuffing their pockets; our security agencies are at best quite motivated but ill-equipped, and at worst totally useless... Dear God, oh dear God.

talina: ^^^ Yes the above bolded is sad. Its sad that woman who do this are TRYING to look beautiful and maybe think they do and are under pressure to look so. They obviously havnt reached the point in their lives where they can let go of this and just be themselves and it doesnt help that most men probably wouldnt even notice them otherwise. I certainly dont think the joke should be on them! I think the honesty and integrity of the man should take a higher ground here.To have compassion and not to exploit. I wish all people would feel beautiful just the way they are.
Would I downgrade a fake guy? I still find theres much grey area in terms of fake.I wouldnt "downgrade anyone" but I wouldnt stay with a lying man.

Shakara123: Our Situation
1. A president with a good heart who means well for his country
2. A president who lacks strong political will for a country as massive and massively corrupt as Nigeria
3. A president widely surrounded by bad people and wrongly advised by same
4. A president who lacks good leadership qualities
5. A president in a very wrong party

Obama of America is not the sharpest man in America, but he leads. What does it really take? Will. He surrounds himself with the best brains he can possibly have and these great men and women are simply guided by a working constitution; laws. He only takes the shots.

I fear for this country. Yet all we all can do is pray. I am hit hard whenever I say that for this great nation to move forward, a lot of people in or out of power have to die.

God please save this great nation Nigeria.

Regarding the Nigerian Constitution, can someone be a citizen of a State by being born in the State?
If so, then many Nigerians need some serrriiooouusss re-orrientation.
