Remember, from the reports there was exchange of gunfire. Most probably BH members. |

^^ Just wanted to say the same thing. Most News agencies and media outfits in Nigeria are just a mess. Are these evidence-based allegations or did any group of Christians claim responsibility? A Muslim-dominated village got attacked by a mob, so it has to be a Christian mob! SMH |
He said, “We rushed to have a taste of theWas that a typo or a result of the 'agbo'? ![]() |

My broda no vex. Na part of the propaganda machinery put in place by 'BH' planners dem. The media has been used to convey untrue and misleading messages. But they failed woefully. |
This is the Simple Truth! I'm happy the Sect has made efforts to clarify some issues here. The 'BH' that has been killing Innocent Civilians and People in Places of Worship, are Political hijackers looking for any possible means to destabilize this Government and the Country. Members of this criminal gang, you would be surprised, may even involve politicians from the Southern part of the Country. |
If normal concrete blocks are used, na to arrest the engineer nah! |
Look at how these reps are behaving rowdy. There's supposed to be a selection process for reasonable people to be elected into such postions. Haba! Some of them with the whole rowdiness are almost sleeping there. |

betrani: Ovaiegbe:In addition, it's very unlikely GEJ will reverse the decision of fuel subsidy removal; that will be political suicide. So I'll implore Nigerians going out for protests and also embarking on the possible strike to add to the theme: The issue of corruption and accountability of public office holders; An end to the 'BH' madness. |
It's funny how Nigerians are coming out to solely protest fuel subsidy removal. Other immediate and pressing issues which are even more threatening to life have been apparently ignored throughout these protests so far. What crime did this boy and girl commit? I'll appeal to protesters all around the Country to please include at least these two in our protests: Demand that this Government makes tough decisions (just as in the subsidy case) to end this 'BH' madness. And those who they know are behind this are exposed and dealt with without fear or favour; Demand for Accountabilty from every person in Government (All Tiers) henceforth, and regular reports of expenditure of various allocations which should be directed at Infrastructural development. |
GEJ should not waste time in making the decision of accepting this offer. Obviously, our security forces have been compromised as far as this BH issue is concerned. |
Oh, Ok! |
What would the Northern Muslim gain by chasing out Southern Christians, Southern Muslims; a process which would likely end in division of the Country, leaving them in isolation? What about the Northern Christians? If 'BH' was a real existing Islamic group, is their own brand of Islam specifically for Northern Nigerians? What of Southern Nigerian Muslims? No real EXISTING Muslim in Northern Nigeria has regarded any call for anyone to leave the North. When Muslims go for Pilgrimage, and also travel to other Countries where Islam had existed for Centuries, don't they see Non-Muslims there? Residents and Citizens. Those privileged to go for Hajj, know very well there are a lot of Non-Muslims resident in Saudi. So why would you believe that Muslims in one part of Nigeria would chase away Muslims, Christians in the name of propagating Islam? Do they also intend to chase away the indegenous Northern Christians to the South? Does it make any logical sense? Centuries ago, battles were fought in order to 'spread Religion'. Later on, man advanced in civilisation and religion was propagated through preaching. The objectives of this 'BH' has nothing to do with any of the above. But we are still enjoined to think that this is a group with Islamic objectives. 'BH' is just a political campaign which will continue unless the present government clamps down hard down to the very root of this issue OR Nigerians move their feet, work together, demand the present administration to end this madness without fear or favour. No economic reform can be executed in this Country with this state of insecurity. And if this administration decides to do nothing sensible, Nigerians may have to live like this till 2015 at least with no tangible development to show for 4 years! |
^^^ Did you read that article? |
If there is any support for BH by Muslims of the North and South as claimed by certain posters on this thread, then that is just a result of the deep-rooted bigotry that has existed amongst Nigerians due to ignorance. BH is a different ball game. |
Instead of attacking Rev. Oritsejafor, this Yusuf would have directed his energy toward differentiating the belief and virtues of Muslim brothers from these terrible acts of 'BH' and working with other Nigerians toward achieving Peace. Besides, what I heard Rev. Oritsejafor say was basically: Christians may be forced to defend themselves if State Security lapses persist and Christians keep being targets of the group (BH). I don't perceive any call for Christians to begin attacking Muslims within that message. Also, Mr. Yusuf, at least having been a 'political adviser' is expected to understand that 'BH' have been carrying out their activities while flying the Islamic banner. So the call by the CAN President on Muslim Leaders to do more than they presently are doing is understandable. |
Happy New Year! |
Anyway, at this stage the Country finds itself, the President has to act decisively and fast. The options I see for this Country now: 1. C in C (GEJ) acts decisively to deal with the situation and the sponsors of 'BH'. Indeed this serve as a form of 'revolution' as these sponsors most likely would have been a great part of the problem of this Country right from time. 2. The President does nothing substantial and the Country finally gets to a state of anarchy owing to our ignorant ethnic and religious bigotry in the form of revenge attacks (NB: this could be staged by the perpetrators as we have right now-Egbesu) 3. Nigerians get informed and enlightened that we have a common enemy on ground and work together. But if C in C decides to do nothing, we also can choose to live with the burden of the bomb blasts until it fizzles out (we've been advised by our President to embrace this one for now); 4. Due to failure of the FG to carry out any meaningful action, Nigerians may begin a 'Nigerian Spring' 5. Military take-over. Against democratic values of the West and might prompt an invasion. |
I'd advise Nigerians to open their eyes! Something is definitely going on here and we're smarter than this! Clearly, this is politically motivated chaos and destruction planned to be inflicted on Our Country. What we should be making attempts to clarify is whether: 1. This is being orchestrated by our local politicians; or 2. By external forces who paln to ultimately take control of 'valuable fragments' of this Nigerian entity following the whole chaos and destruction; or 3. An original agenda of the former group, which the latter has taken advantage of. Out of all the massacres that have occurred in some Northern parts of this Country due to sectarian crises for decades, in which thousands were murdered, even earlier this year following the presidential elections where innocent citizens were killed using machettes and hand-held weapons, why is it at this point when a group called 'Boko Haram' (I wonder who coined that name!) carried out indiscriminate bombings on Muslims and Christians, that people in Delta State suddenly decided to start killing Muslims in their midst. And guess what! With BOMBS also! Does that make any sense? Tribal, Ethnic and Religious differences in Nigeria is well-known the world over. Only well-cordinated sparks are required to initiate a self-destruct process and whoever takes advantage of such a situation would virtually take total control. All Nigerians regardless of Tribe, Religion or Ethnic group all have a common enemy right now, and we have to work together to get through this. I don't know where the report of 'BH' getting widespread support from the ordinary Northern Muslim/Almajiris came from. When the Northern Islamic leaders and political elite refuse to condemn such actions in strongest terms, do you expect the ordinary citizen in the North to risk his life protesting? Moreover the silence of notable Northern elite over this issue points to the fact that known key politicians play roles in this menace (whether external forces are involved or not). The approach of the FG regarding this issue is quite unencouraging. FG claimed to know sponsors and promised to publish their names, (giving citizens hope that serious investigations and tackling of this problem was underway), up till date, nada! We, the Nigerian populace also contributed to this mess! The level of Ethnic and Religious prejudice and bigotry amonst us is just disgusting! For those that don't know, the Hausa/Fulani and Kanuri are two different sets of people who don't get along that much. When assaults were happening in Borno and recently, Yobe, not only Southerners were like 'since it stays there, that's their problem', even the Hausas were like 'these Kanuris, that's their problem!) Who was left out to speak out or fight for those isolated people? Now these perpetrators tried to spread their tentacles to Hausa/Fulani regions, but met very unhabitable conditions. Remember Bauchi? And even recently, Kano where members of the public assisted security forces to get rid of some of these agents of 'BH'? That is another pointer that this spate of indiscriminate killings is not an Islamic agenda. If it was, it would have thrived in Muslim-dominated States eg Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Jigawa, Katsina, Kano, etc. Have you heard of 'BH' attacks on the minority Christians there? Places that have had history of sectarian clashes are their targets: Jos, Bauchi, Kaduna Their base: Maiduguri, Yobe The present gov't: F.C.T and surrounding places eg Madalla in Niger State. Thought their main agenda was to 'Islamize' the North? What of these States largely filled with 'infidels'?: Adamawa, Taraba, Benue where occurrences of sectarian violence is usually very low or absent. Remember suleja bombing (INEC Office). Okay, that was not 'BH' Bombing of polling units in Maiduguri. Not 'BH'! Sectarian crisis following Presidential election. Not 'BH' or its members either! But as the present gov't's trying to settle down to business, 'BH' pops out of nowhere, deciding it's time to Islamize Nigeria! Come on! Why allow the 'Secular and UnIslamic election' take place in the first place? |
So, na so Rick Ross 'tha bawss' wey dey 'JFK' fear reach eh! Later all these rappers go come dey make noise for person ear! Bros Ross, Make I no catch you sing anything pass Christmas Carol, You dey hia? |
I have a strong feeling the same perpetrators of Christmas Day bombing carried out this act in Delta. Aim: To whip up sentiments from both sides and also distract the government from focussing on unravelling the 25th Dec. bombing masterminds. |
Chei!!! |
Dear Mr. President: We should say Merry Christmas but we are not your goverment, we are not in the business of deception. After almost ten hours of gathering your thoughts to speak on the bomb blasts that rocked the nation yesterday, you still fell short of your own very low standards. What did you intend to say when you said Bomb Blasts are a burden we must live with? Why do you bother to budget over a trillion for security if we must live the burden of insecurity? How come you are still a president? We do not blame you, we blame our older ones who were stupid enough to think that where you come from and your religion was all you needed to be a competent president. They are crying now. We all cried yesterday on the darkest Christmas day of our short lives. While we cried and left Christmas postponed for another year, we watched as you dancedyour life away like there was no tomorrow. Is it true that all you care about is the fact that you are the president so whatever can happen should happen. Last night we prayed for you. We prayed that the white men should be able to make common sense so that we can budget for it and then you will have it in abundance. As it is, it is obvious sir that you are grossly lacking in common sense. If you weren’t, you would never come out to tell a mourning nation that it should get ready to live with the burden of destruction and insecurity. That was utterly insensitive and even the dumbest of our mates, fellow Nigerian children would never descend that low to an unprecedented level of cluelessness. We understand this is not a sane country, if this was a sane country, your ilk will not be in a job. Your security chiefs, yourself and your cabinet would have been throwing resignation letters left right and centre. But then, here is a place where people are satisfied with just being in positions, that they are clueless about what to do in such positions does not matter. Mr. President, Boko Haram defeated you in 2011. What plans are you making for 2012? Do you realise they have since improved while your security tactics remain stop and search? Do you realise they are far more coordinated than ever before? Have you thought of engaging more intelligence in curbing this menace instead of just mere brute? Yes, you have issues with concentrating for long, why not budget for aconcentrator? That way you are conditioned to at least focus on being the president of Nigeria instead of our national chief chef? You are wondering where that came from? It came from cassava bread sir. You chose the menu for 2012 but we hope you realise that Boko Haram certainly has a menu. Please Mr. President, they will look to attack again in the New Year, do what you have never done before, get your security chiefs to prevent that by all means. Contrary to yourassertion, we are not prepared to live with the burden of bomb blasts. Get yourself to work and stop excusing your inability to dealwith Boko Haram on the premise that they are a necessity. What is that? If you cannot lead and be a president, help yourself and resign. Please take your vice-president along. You are a twin set of incompetence. This letter has been written with kind words, not because we are in the mood to be nice to you but because we are children and respect is a value we want to live with but our lack of it sometimes is a burden you must live with as long as you force us to live with your Boko Haram burden. We wrote you a letter on subsidy yesterday but we figured it would be better to send this before you get our other letter. As long as your cluelessness reigns supreme in this country, we will always remind you of our angst and stake in this nation. It is not by force to live in Aso Rock. So if you must, do the right things, say the right things and learn to get the basic things right. The Bomb Blasts darkened our Christmas butyour response dampened our mood even further. This is not the way to lead a people. If you need help, we will nominate one of us to offer you words of wisdom for free. As it is, you look overwhelmed by the mere job of providing security for Nigeria let alone the other duties you swore to carry out for Nigeria. Action point: Sack yourself sir, and take Arc. Namadi Sambo along. It is a good place to start. Signed: Association of Conscious Nigerian Children (ACNC) CULLED FROM SAHARA REPORTER. |

I've always asked why haven't okadas been banned all this while. A very risky mode of transportation; countless numbers of citizens have lost their lives using such means. Secondly, they make the roads rowdy as hell and very unsightly. A very good substitute would be the 'Keke Napep'. I'm sure folks in States where okadas have been banned can attest to this. Decrease in mortality rates on the roads; Not much difference in cost of purchasing one from that of an okada; And very neat environment, not littered by okadas. |
