PoliticsRe: Pick Your SGF From South-east, Ohaneze Ndigbo Youths Tell Buhari by NaMeAboki:

You come across as being quite slow and thick as a plank! No apologies if you feel hurt!

At the bolded: Igbos are still part of your 'one Nigeria' as we speak, aren't they? Is the gov't some Igbos are demanding inclusiveness in owned by Buhari, APC or the Fulani? Are human and natural resources not being exploited from Alaigbo for the use of the entire country as we speak (note: i said ALAIGBO and not SOUTH-EAST)?

And they wanna accuse Ndigbo of having an unmerited sense of entitlement! shocked
And you too sir come across as dafter than I thought; at least your Blodas from the youth group have the presence of mind to accept the folly of the politics their ppl played and of the need for them to re-strategise.

It is one thing to make a mistake and accept that you were wrong - its called taking responsibility for your actions; and quite another to make similar mistake and completely ignore your own role in it and instead be blaming others for it.

Igbos had continuously been scheming themselves out of leadership positions by adopting an inclusive vindictive brand of abrasive politics, driven by hate, tribal and religious considerations; their politicians often lack tact and regard for the sensibility of others, they demand rather than persuade or compromise; they boast and posture superiority over others somehow foolishly believing that would win them love and trust of those they had just insulted.

Its is no wonder that Igbos are often at loggerheads with other Nigerians and therefore slowly isolating themselves from the love and consideration of their compatriots.

Unfortunately, the same pattern seems to be repeating itself wherever they go and settle in numbers, even in the diaspora - their criminality and toxic attitude is giving all of us a bad name and attracting to themselves the wrath and distrust of their of host communities e.g. xenophobic attacks in SA, India and other countries seem mainly targeted at them.

Yes, indeed you ppl have an unmerited sense of entitlement: you cannot reap where you did not sow nor claim 'One Nigeria' without embracing it's oneness in both spirit and action or otherwise be ready to face the consequences of your actions or inaction - better wake up and smell the coffee or miss out completely; everybody is tired of your wailing and blackmail.
PoliticsRe: Pick Your SGF From South-east, Ohaneze Ndigbo Youths Tell Buhari by NaMeAboki:
KenOne:
Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Council (OYC) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) from the South-East region of the country.

The group, in a statement in Abakaliki on Thursday, said that will give the zone a sense of belonging in the President’s second tenure.

The statement signed by the President-General of OYC also congratulated the new National Assembly leadership elected on Tuesday.

The statement said: The leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide had watched keenly the manipulated drama and scheme out of South East zone from the leadership of National Assembly, Judiciary and other Security apparatus of the country, but, rather than lamenting endlessly, we congratulate those who emerged as National Assembly leaders.

It is the will of the Almighty God, and we the younger generation of Ndigbo accept these realities as an act of fate, and we urge Igbo leaders to shield their battle swords and quietly go into “ime Obi” and restrategize ahead of time for the battle Royal ahead in 2023.

We should borrow a leaf from South-West who were in similar situations between 2007 till 2015 before they bounced back in the present moment with President Buhari.

Lai lai; what happened to Igbos are not interested in political appointments; besides why should they be interested in serving under the Lifeless, illiterate Certificate less, Goro Chewing president and leader of an Islamic party (APC) with a Fulanisation and Islamisation agenda?

They should rely on their insults, tribal politics of hate and religion and Fake News to assure them of appointments - its too late for them now to be begging, they have already made their bed and should therefore be ready to lie on it; maybe next time after they have changed their attitude they may be considered; but for now they should simply eat the humble pie and watch quietly.

Many people claim to come from where they've never even visited before on this forum. Some do it to divert attention from where they really hail from in order to further hide their identity.

Even me bro, you can never be sure that I'm from Enugu. That you saw it in my post does not make it correct. Never rely on what you read on a faceless forum to make judgment!
No you are not from Enugu nor Igbo; you are only pretending like most others - keep denying; hope that makes you happy.

How did you know that those making such posts and threads are Igboshuh So, every post here against Hausas are from Igbos? Are you are that there are some people on this forum whose stocks in thread is to pitch the different tribes (especially the 3 major ones) against one another? Hence, they pretend to be Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa to make posts that would instigate hatred among the three tribes??
Quite easily, as I told you the evidence is out there; if you apply enough due diligence you will quickly come to the right conclusion - even without telling me, I can easily tell that you too are Igbo, most likely from Enugu.

CrimeRe: SSS Arrests Social Media Users For Posting 'Inciting Materials' by NaMeAboki: 4:58pm On Jun 12, 2019
Correctgist:
The State Security Service on Wednesday announced a nationwide crackdown on individuals allegedly caught posting inciting materials on the Internet, in a move that could provoke fresh debates about the potency of Nigerian Constitution’s free speech safeguards.

The SSS said it had recently observed that some social media users were skewing Nigeria’s history to promote ethnic violence and tip the nation into crisis, a development it said must be urgently reversed through state interference.

The secret police’s spokesperson, Peter Afunanya, said in a statement that some “unpatriotic” Nigerians have been using social media platforms to make “unguarded public statements and/or use the social media platforms to instil fear in the minds of citizens”.

“These are reflected in the misleading statements and articles being circulated among unsuspecting members of the public. Such inciting materials oftentimes are designed to make or convey false accusations by one group against the other.

The SSS said it was “determined to ensure that the tribal chauvinists and mischief makers do not continue to exploit socio-political differences and Internet platforms to threaten the peace and stability of the country.”

The SSS vowed to “sustain the apprehension and prosecution of defaulters,” because it would not relent in its quest to prevent crimes and keep Nigeria as an indivisible country.

On several occasions this forum has been inundated with news of Yoruba men, Hausa men, men from other tribes who battered their wives or girlfriends, and guess what many of us did; we condemned the act without recourse to the perpetrator's tribes. Now, just a few instances you cited that happened in igboland, it has now become a tribal issue!

You better change from your bigotry and hatred for Igbos because hatred will only lead you to your doom! A word is enough for the wise
Sorry, my experience here in Nairaland says otherwise; the Hausa-Fulani Muslim had suffered most bashing than any other group; and Igbos were the greatest offenders who never seem to pass an opportunity to either insult or instigate others to hatred.

You need not go far to see the evidence; the numerous malicious threads and posts are still out there and can speak for themselves.

I am glad now the tide is turning and Igbos are beginning to feel the pain they have been causing others - its payback time; some ppl may say they are reaping what they sowed.

@TOPIC:
There seems to be some semblance of truth concerning the rate of wife killings among Igbos and it seems even more evident in the diaspora, especially in America - the topic even attracted a thread here in this forum.

PoliticsRe: Senator Obinna Ogba Says Abacha Was ‘A Good Man’ by NaMeAboki: 5:04am On Jun 09, 2019
socialmediaman:
In a civilized conversation, you just state that you didn’t mention Diya, no need for insults. But I understand where you’re coming from.

Nevertheless, it’s interesting that you accuse a former head of state who succeeded Abacha and clearly would’ve been privy to such illegal agreement, and also a former president who clearly would’ve known of such treacherous agreement.

Wonder why I call it illegal and treacherous? Because when a country’s money becomes your personal property to be used by you and your family without accountability, you’re a classic example of the most corrupt dictator in the world. The fact that he used his family’s name to stash money in various parts of the world? I have no better words to describe a criminal.

What he did isn’t what I’m really concerned about though because with time, his loots will be uncovered, the fact that you find justification in such heinous crimes tells a lot.
I regret that you felt insulted for stating the obvious - truly you need to do something about your comprehension because you seem to continue making the same mistake.

First of all, didn't claim or implied to be privy to any agreement between members of the PRC but merely repeated what some of them said about the issue - which is still available in the public domain (you too can google Bamaiyi or Jeremiah Useni pertaining to the so called Abacha loot).

Secondly, I did not in anywhere justified Abacha's action concerning the loot but stated the circumstances and motive behind such action as explained by the mentioned surviving members of the PRC; the penultimate paragraph of my last post clearly highlighted my position on that - pls go back and read it again, this time very clearfully.

PoliticsRe: Ebonyi Women Beg Buhari For Ministerial Slots Ahead Of Cabinet Reshuffle by NaMeAboki: 4:26am On Jun 09, 2019
Hypocrites: how many votes did they give APC, how many Reps and Senators did they return for APC that they should expect to dine with others at the high table i.e. how would they expect to win the lottery without buying a ticket or reap from where they didn't sow?
Where were they when their kinsmen were calling the APC an Islamic party and till date insulting its presidential flag bearer with all sort of names in preference to the opposition?
The party should not succumb to the over used cheap blackmail of marginalisation because it is not true that Igbos are marginalised as they enjoy complete freedom to choose who they want - and like any one, should expect to bear the consequence of their choices.

Abdulsalami Abubakar was not a member of the PRC? Where and where did such meeting take place without him? Your story sounds so convenient and it’s interesting that you would take the words of Diya who was dishonorably dethroned to the words of Abdulsalami who was Chief of defense staff and ex head of state
You clearly need to brush up on your reading skills; because there was nowhere in my entire posts that I mentioned Diya; neither did I stated or implied that Adulsalami Abubakar was a member of the PRC but instead that he and OBJ succeeded Abacha and both used their offices to pursue a campaign of calumny against the latter because they already had a grudge against him - pls do not put words into my mouth.

Your skull is obviously empty if you actually typed that nonsense by yourself.
And your skull is obviously limited and stuck in a one dimensional mode; its therefore no wonder you seem unable to process and handle a more complex multi-dimensional issue such as the one at hand.

socialmediaman:
Wow! Can’t believe I just read this. I have no way to explain your justification except see it as reverse psychology, a situation where a victim, after being oppressed for so long by an oppressor, begins to justify the actions of their oppressor because they think they deserved it. I have a few questions for you:

1. Do you keep money in US, UK etc, the same countries you’re trying to hide the money from?

2. So they hid these funds for Nigeria's Sake in their personal names, with their families as the only ones who can access the funds, why weren’t there documents listing all these funds as belonging to the state?

3. Why did their families but not the country know about these hidden funds, of truly the funds belonged to Nigeria?

4. Let’s just assume that these criminals generals decided to hide these funds for Nigeria’s sake. After a new government came in, it remained theirs to privately use till they were caught, What did that make them if not criminals?
Yes; in the comity of nations most countries have adopted the USD (and other strong currencies) as the medium of international trade and therefore stash a certain amount of their surplus earnings in various accounts as foreign reserve (Nigeria among them) in order to facilitate the said trade; stabilise exchange rate and other economic mechanisms as deemed necessary.

Some which fall foul of the UN or big countries like the USA become victims of economic sanctions and may have such money or assets frozen.

Nigeria under Abacha was in danger of falling into that category (like Libya at that time).

This was what informed the decision to hide part of Nigeria's money in various foreign accounts under false names (including those of Abacha's children among others) - it was effectively a kind of money laundering.

The decision was taken joint by the PRC and in view of the need for absolute secrecy agreed to allow Abacha determine the fine details of the concealment.

Surviving members of the Abacha regime who took part in that decision of the PRC, such as Generals Bamaiyi and Useini, have on several occasions held press interviews confirming that decision but their voices had been drowned under the massive propaganda machinery of successive govts in power (Abdulsalami Abubakar & OBJ) as well as members of NADECO who had obviously had huge issues with Abacha - and could conveniently malign a dead man without fear of contradiction.

Note, I am not saying that Abacha was a saint and free of corruption and therefore did not use that opportunity to divert some of the stash for himself or that his children did not do same after his death; however, the primary intention of hiding such colossal sum (which was just too much for just one man and his family even if was that greedy) was simply to safe guard it away from possible sanctions.

Those who knew the truth have already spoken; unfortunately the hatred for Abacha, as fuelled by his enemies, is preventing many Nigerians from accepting this version of events.

IslamRe: Is It Permissible To Fast Six Days Of Shawaal First? by NaMeAboki: 10:12am On Jun 07, 2019
An Imam once told me that you can kill two birds with one stone i.e. if you make intention of repaying your missed Ramadan fast and perform it and because that fast was also in the month of Shawwal, it too can count simultaneously towards your sitta Shawwal.
Therefore you could achieve the required six Shawwal fast while repaying your missed Ramadan fast at the same time (if the latter are up to six or more) with less effort.

Can someone pls authenticate this.

Yes he was: he was able to achieve more with the least amount of revenue (oil @ about $9/barrel) than most other leaders before or after him; his main problem was that many of those he stepped on their toes (OBJ & Abdulsalami Abubakar and also NADECO members) came to power immediately after him and made sure they used their offices or access to the media to malign him more than he was actually guilty of - e.g. some members of the SMC (Bamaiyi & Jeremai Useni) had tried to debunk the so called Abacha loot, explaining the rational behind the joint SMC's decision to stash the money in secret accounts, in the light of threats of more international economic sanctions against the country but to no avail.
