This is the real account of what happened from a first hand situation report.


A military personnel bought engine from one of the dealers and he tried returning it because according to him, it was defective, here is where the problem started, the dealer refused to change it because doing so will make the transaction turn to a loss on his part after accounting for the commission paid to baranda boys (middleman/market touts).

The Soldier told the dealer that the commission paid to any middleman is none of his concern and an argument which turned physical ensued. The dealers ganged up on him and assaulted him. The soldier went back to his base, returned with reinforcement and the rest is history.






Something has to be done about the unscrupulous business practices in that particular market not excusing the high handedness of the military in this issue.

The Bodo-Bonny road is a federal project. It is being constructed by Julius Berger and funded by NLNG and Federal Ministry of works and housing. I was at the project site last year February to inspect the level of work done.

Anambra, Akwa Ibom and Lagos are the only 3 states in my view that are at the crups of vertical take off if they get a disruptive leader. Whilst each of these states have got a succession of Govs who have practically continued, both the key Govs in this journey for each state are Peter Obi, Akpabio and Fashola respectively.

He is one man that i can vote for. Which is rare for the present crop of politicians in most parties.

On the matter, the art works should go to the Oba palace, to be held in trust for the benin people. However, they should not be the only body in total control of them. I think there is a public interests as to whether these works will be accessible to the public or scholars around the world and whether the larger society will benefit from the expected huge profits from tourists who would trope Benin to see these incredible works.

That "public interest" is very valid. And the Obas Palace will do well to take that into cognizance.

A joint custody of the works, but with the ownership been with the Oba(on behalf of the Benin people) should be worked out. That is the reasonable and pragmatic thing to do.
