BusinessBREAKING: EFCC Release Innoson Motor’s Boss, Innocent Chukwuma by NAPC1(op): 5:03pm On Dec 21, 2017
The Economic and Financial Crime Commission. EFCC, has released the Managing Director Of Innoson Groups/Motors Limited, Chief Innocent Chukwuma.

The release came on the heels of angry reactions that trailed the arrest.

The EFCC, on Wednesday arrested and flew Chief Innocent Chukwuma, to Lagos wearing only shorts and a shirt.

The arrest which caused uproar on social media, saw many Nigerians condemning the arrest, and some Igbo group tagged it as a direct war to Igbo nation.

But the EFCC in a statement on the release said ‘Chief Innocent Chukwuma was released on bail and that he was arrested on Tuesday at his Enugu residence, following his refusal to respond to invitations by the Commission, after initially being granted administrative bail by the Commission, while his surety could also not be found.

The agency also said that him and his brother, Charles Chukwuma (who is still at large), were being investigated by the Insurance and Capital Market Fraud Section of the Commission’s office in Lagos over matters bordering on N1, 478, 366, 859.66 fraud and forgery and other infractions.

PoliticsRelease INNOSON Now, Kalu Tells EFCC by NAPC1(op):
Chairman of Stercoll Group Worldwide, Dr Emeka Kalu has condemned the brutish and gestapo – style arrest of Dr Innocent Chukwuma, Chairman of Innoson Group, and sole producer of motor vehicles in Nigeria.

Dr. Kalu who spoke to journalists through his social media handle from the United States wondered why Nigeria does not appreciate nor honour its prized personalities.

The former aspirant for Abia governorship under APGA frowned at the silence of the Federal Government over the shameful act, and also condemned the involvement of GTBank in the while quagmire.

He therefore called for the immediate release of INNOSON by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commissioned, EFCC.

“A country like Nigeria should be supportive of its investors, but the reverse is the case here. Look at Innoson, instead of giving him the needed support which would boost the image of the country and make it possible for us to join other nations with indigenous vehicle companies, everything imaginable is being done to ensure that he fails. This was how Dr Izuogu’s inventions were totally destroyed, after he began his project of becoming the first African to make a motor vehicle.

“How can this country ever move forward? How can this country ever come to anything? Even the banks who stand to gain in the long run are not helping matters? Nigeria brings tears to our eyes, especially we who are abroad. This is impunity of the highest order. Was he even invited to EFCC and he refused to go? Why harass and embarrass him like a common criminal?”

The oil investor therefore called on the EFCC to, as a matter of urgency release INNOSON and save the nation from the embarrassment.

“Even if INNOSON lacks the finances to fund his project, its the responsibility of the country to fund him. It is shameful that a man who has made Nigeria stand out as a member nation in vehicle manufacturing has become reduced to such shame. I hereby call on the authorities of this country to free him immediately”, Kalu stated.

PoliticsAnambra Election: Chief Emeka Kalu Congratulates Gov. Obiano by NAPC1(op): 9:20pm On Nov 25, 2017
Chief Emeka Kalu has congratulated Gov. Willie Obiano on his victory at the just concluded November 18, governorship Anambra State election.

Kalu, who was an All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship aspirant in the 2015 governorship election in Abia State canvassed and voiced strongly for the re-election and 2nd term completion of the government of Chief Willie Obiano.

In his joyous mood, he said: “The victory of Obiano was quite predictable due to his massive projects and good governance in Anambra. The only thing we saw there was just a play of politics which was visible in that other parties filed their candidates to show relevance in the state. If not so, governor Obiano had no reason to be contested against.”

Chief Kalu insisted that the people knew what was and is right and maintained it. He stressed that they had no choice.

“From the turnout of polling results, you could see the voices of ndi-Anambra. It was so dramatic. These people know that a vote against Obiano was a vote against good road in the state; they knew it would amount to non-payment of their salaries; they knew that there would be an effect on the security state of Anambra which has been beefed up since the government of Obiano set in in the state.

“You see, the people had no other choice than to vote themselves in in Obiano. Gov. Obiano is people minded and the people see themselves in him”

He stressed that a good look into the data of people who voted for other parties would reveal that they are not indigenes of Anambra.

“I know many would contest this but it is a fact if concrete statistics are put into place. Majority of votes against governor Obiano did not come from Anambra people. It must have been from non-indigenes of the state who are not well informed of the goings in the state and are driven by sentiment and euphoria played out by other political parties.”

He therefore, congratulated Gov. Obiano and wished him well as he pilots the affairs of the state in the next four years.

The Business mogul thanked Ndi Anambra for coming out to vote and commended INEC, security agencies, other political parties and the Federal government for a peaceful outcome of the poll.

He equally advised the governor to be magnanimous in victory.

“Gov. Obiano should extend the hands of brotherhood and friendship to all other candidates irrespective of party differences and form a government that would help him drive the state positively.”

PoliticsObiano, APGA Deserves Another Ternure – Chief Emeka Kalu by NAPC1(op): 3:03pm On Nov 05, 2017
Chief Emeka C. Kalu has said that the second to none development strides of Gov. Willie Obiano would give the governor victory in the Nov.18 governorship poll in Anambra.

Kalu stated this after an interaction with APGA chieftains in the United States. He said that a second term would help the governor to consolidate on his efforts in developing the state and institutionalize them.

He said: “I am not from Anambra state but I am affiliated to the politically and by matrimony. If I am asked, I will say that Governor Obiano has done very well.

He changed the security state of Upper Iweka and made it secure, workers in the state are not complaining of no or low salaries; he pays promptly and has transformed agriculture in the state. Anambra is a state blessed with many business men and women, with the coming of Obiano, more have come into the picture with his economic empowerment schemes. Prof Soludo said it rightly during his lecture when he asked ‘If it is not broken, why mend it?’ I agree with him.”

The Abia born business man salutes the wisdom applied by Anambra chapter of APGA by calling on the services of Willie Obiano even after he had retired from active service.

“One thing that is important in leadership is the recognizing of a true leader by the people and not picking one who is forcing himself to leadership position. Everyone can recall that Governor Obiano was not actively involved in politics before becoming governor; he had meritoriously retired from active service when Anambra State APGA came calling on him. That is what it should be.

And as a man that is where he is due to his consistency in positive and innovative services in his professional carriers, he has not failed Anambra people; he is living and working up to their expectations and the people are calling on him again for a second tenure. Isn’t that worth it?

On the projects embarked on and completed by the governor, Kalu said:

“If you tour across the state, you will see development projects of APGA in every community.

This is made possible because the governor focused on community driven projects. He has done well over 320 kilometres of road. Such man deserves a second term. A second term will help him to institutionalize the beautiful things that he has been able to do in this first tenure, particularly in the area of agriculture.

It is not news that Anambra is self-sufficient in rice. The governor was able to embark on his agriculture initiative in 2014. The state was doing over 80,000 metric tonnes but today, with the addition of Ofuma integrated rice farm, Anambra state is proudly doing 375 metric tones.’’

Kalu predicts an over 75 per cent victory for APGA

I am very sure that by November 18, Governor Willie Obiano will be returned to continue his good works for ndi Anambra.

More importantly, it must not be forgetting that the last government that ruled the state for eight years was APGA; therefore, it won’t be wrong for the party to come back for another four years. Ndi Anambra are safe and more developed with APGA as the ruling party.’’

APGA BU NKE ANYI!

Politics10 Positive Things Restructuring Of Nigeria Will Bring - By Chief Emeka Kalu by NAPC1(op): 9:11pm On Oct 09, 2017
With the clamour for restructuring Nigeria now a serious debate, Eminent Businessman and frontline politician want Nigerians to look at the benefits of having Nigeria in regions and its advantages.

He suggested:

*Northern Region
*Middle Belt Region
*Western Region
*Eastern Region
*Niger Delta Region
*While Central Government will be at FCT.

Positive things that would happen within 10 years; primarily due to inter-regional competition:

1). The first region to experience economic explosion would obviously be the Western Region. The Oduduwua Master plan will be revealed. There would be trans-regional 4G internet fiber connection,rail-subways, highways, power grids etc.

Yoruba will become their 2nd official language. They are relatively united. they have oil. they own academia, they have mega corporations. The Western Region would be the first to have stable power supply; Foreign money will flood the province. More Forbes recognized billionaires will arise; Some of them will be internet billionaires. Lagos will be relieved a little from overpopulation as railway lines from other states will make living elsewhere and working in Lagos a breeze.

2). The Northern Region will have stronger islamic laws. Sharia will be entrenched and this will make the Northern Region become the least corrupt province. The middle east (Arab) nations will move in to partner with them, bringing major development. Jaiz bank and Unity Bank will become mega banks. Arabic and Hausa will compete with English for dominance in schools. This province will generate more solar power than any other province. After the west, this province will be the 2nd to have 24/7 electricity. They will start exporting food as there would be so much foreign investment inflow that would make Northern Region a major food producer in Africa which would be a revenue generator that would help to empower majority of the commoners.

3). The Middle Belt Region will have a development conference. Focus will be given to solid minerals development and
exports; tourism development and food production for exports. This will become a food hub in West Africa. They will export more food than any other Region . Mega mining and food corporations will arise. This region will have foreign inflows through tourism development greater than any other Region. It will host the most beautiful places to live in Nigeria.

4). The Eastern Region will transform into the Auto Industry hub of Africa. Indigenous manufacturing of vehicles that will start competing with foreign vehicles will commence in earnest. This will grow to manufacturing of airplanes, helicopters, tractors, cranes, heavy duty construction equipment etc. Forbes recognised billionaires living in Anambra will arise. The Biafra agitation will fizzle out since formation of the eastern region will be seen as a Biafra success in another form. There would be so much development that villages (as we currently know them) will quickly cease to exist. This province will be the first to semi-urbanize all their rural areas as all the Igbos living abroad will rush back to take advantage of the changes.

5). The Niger will take the Uyo blueprint and run with it. An abundance of oil wealth and opening up of major sea ports at Rivers, Warri, Sapele, Koko and Uyo will enable this region to revamp their infrastructure quickly. There will be more monorails here than anywhere else. This will be the 3rd province to achieve stable electricity generation in Nigeria (mainly from gas turbine technology).

6). With Regional security forces in control; kidnapping, Armed robbery, Boko Haram, Fulani herdsmen and the Niger delta militancy attacks will all fizzle out. Nigeria will become the most secure and peaceful African nation; thus attracting more foreigners.

7). Each Region will have their own airline professionally managed. And with better roads/rail, air and land transport costs will crash.

8 ). With the rapid development occurring all over, Nigerias GDP will shoot up. Obtaining visas to travel out will become easy as more people will want to come in than go out. A worldwide immigration into Nigeria will commence, as Nigerians living abroad will be struggling with foreigners to enter the country. ''Nigeria will become the most desirable Nation to live in".

9). The central government at the FCT will become smaller and less powerful. There will be a mini-exodus from Abuja to the provinces as the action is now elsewhere. The outskirts of Abuja will no longer be heavily overpopulated. Abuja will become awesome again.

10). The 10th positive thing that would quickly happen is "positive ideas and healthy competition towards rapid development".

With the above, it would be a win win situation for every Nigerian irrespective of their province. The time to RESTRUCTURE is now. It's never too late to be on the right path towards a better Nation.

We are stronger together as a Nation. Add your voice to a one indivisible restructured united Nigeria.

Dr. Emeka C. Kalu, is a former governorship aspirant of APGA in 2015 gubernatorial election in Abia State.

PoliticsAnambra: I'll Support The Re-election Of Obiano, Says Kalu by NAPC1(op): 9:50pm On Oct 03, 2017
Press Release:

Former APGA gubernatorial aspirant in Abia State, Chief Dr Emeka Kalu, on Saturday said that it would only take a man with Governor Willie Obiano’s strength of character, general acceptability and integrity to solve the various challenges confronting Anambra State.

Kalu, insisted that the Governor had justified the mandate given to him by the electorates through the implementation of sound economic policy, prompt payment of workers salary, infrastructural development and security of lives and property etc.

He said , “I will support the re-election of Obiano because he has done a lot for Anambra State. In his resolve to make Anambra investor destination and commercial hub in the Southeastern part of the country, Obiano came up with a blue print tagged, “the Four Pillars of Development which revolves around Agriculture, Industrialization, Trade and Commerce and Oil & Gas".

With the blueprint in place Anambra State was opened to investors by the creation of the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA).

With the mandate of attracting investments and fast-tracking the process of investment in Anambra state, the Agency has attracted investments in Agriculture, Trade & Commerce, Manufacturing, Hospitality, Housing, Electricity generation, Waste management, Health, and Oil and Gas to the tune of $3.2billion to the state and more investments are coming.

Today, over 500 youths have been effectively trained in diverse skills and crafts at the Technology Incubation Centre in Nnewi while 500 other youths have been trained at the Agricultural Training Institute in Mgbakwu. With lots of great plans for the Anambra youths and the unemployed in Anambra State, the future can only get better.

In Agriculture, he launched the Agricultural Revolution in Nteje, Oyi Local Government Area. Two years after that action, Anambra State has almost realized the objective of becoming one of the Top-Three agricultural states in Nigeria. Anambra State has become an exporter of farm produce" for the first time, Citizens of other States now look at Anambra State as a State that's serious to grow and develop rapidly.

“ If you want to see what Obiano has achieved or wants to achieve, just go and look at the developments and infrastructures at Awka, Onitsha and Aguleri etc.you'll know that he deserves a second term. ”

Kalu, who spoke through his Media Aide, Comrade Sunny Idika, urged Anambrarians to massively vote for Dr. Willie Obiano for continuity and stability.

Specific conference tracks joining design scholars, educators, and creators aim to coalesce a body of work significant in size and focus and to facilitate collaboration amongst these design thinkers. You must select one of the Conference Tracks below or select Open Track. All submissions will be scored using established criteria and there is NO penalty or advantage to selecting a track. These will be used for scheduling and so that conference presenters and attendees can identify areas of interest.

Culture
How do we create environments that celebrate culture and foster inclusion, identity, and safety? How do we understand the reciprocal relationship between designer and user?

Pedagogy
How do we instill values of human respect and dignity in our students? How do we prepare future designers for the roles of advocate and change agent? What techniques and tools inform the learning environment? How do we balance high-tech with high-touch?

Practice
How are the concerns of humans addressed in the professional practice of design? How does the role of professional differ from that of student? What is the role of pro bono work in the design workplace?

Social Impact
How do we change human expectations about and demands of the made environment? How do designers listen and learn about marginalized individuals and groups? How can we use technology to understand humans and advance design solutions? How do designers create public awareness of design’s impact in the everyday experience?

Boundaries
How can we transform our thinking with regard to humans and the made environment? These presentations are the place to share emerging ideas that challenge the status quo and foster innovative design thinking, making, and doing.

Open Track
Please select this track if you believe your work cannot be described by any of the tracks above. There is no penalty in your evaluation if you select this track

Presentation Categories

All abstracts submitted for review must be identified by one of the following two presentation categories. Each category is outlined below.

Scholarship of Design Research: Scholarship of Design Research abstracts explore theoretical, historical, or practical aspects of the interior design discipline in both practice and education. Scholarship of Design Research abstracts should identify the question or theory being explored, the framework of exploration and conclusions drawn from the examination. It is expected that the scholarship presented will have reached preliminary conclusions and/or implications that can be shared with the audience. Project/study is complete at time of abstract submission and is reflected in the abstract. Scholarship that is in process should be submitted as a poster.

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning: Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) abstracts emphasize teaching methods used in interior design courses. SoTL abstracts should identify the problem being addressed, the method or strategy used to address the problem, and an analysis of the outcomes (e.g., student work or learning). It is expected that the scholarship presented will have reached preliminary conclusions and/or implications that can be shared with the audience. Project/study is complete at time of abstract submission and is reflected in the abstract. Scholarship that is in process should be submitted as a poster.

SoTL submissions must include an Appendix of up to 5 pages or images. This appendix should include supplemental materials, which may consist of (but is not limited to) project outlines, project statements, and examples of student outcomes if available. Submissions without an appendix will not be reviewed.

Presentation Formats

All abstracts submitted for review must identify which of the following three presentation formats is being proposed. Each presentation format has unique characteristics that support particular types of information or processes being presented. It is encouraged that these characteristics are considered when preparing abstracts for review. Each presentation format is described below.

Presentation: Presentations provide a forum for the formal presentation of scholarly work. This category is best suited for scholarship that has reached conclusions and/or implications that can be shared with the audience. This format provides an opportunity for work to be offered for question and comment. Presentations are 20 minutes in length, followed by 10 minutes of discussion. When preparing for your presentation please plan for the Q and A session.

Poster: Posters utilize a graphic format intended to foster one-on-one dialogue between the presenter and the conference attendees. This category is intended for scholarship that is preliminary, ongoing, or will benefit from this informal presentation and discussion format. Abstracts submitted in this category must include a description of or information concerning the graphic presentation being proposed (medium, format, etc). Poster presentations will be assigned an 8’ wide by 4’ tall vertical display area. Posters will be presented in an open forum at designated time(s) during the conference.

Panel: Panel presentations encourage open discussion and opinions. A moderator will submit the abstract proposal and invite three to five presenters to participate. (No names of any of the participants should appear in the abstract). The topic should be one that would benefit from diverse opinions and open discussion. Panel presentations are 60 minutes in length. Typically, panelists make their individual presentations in the first 40 minutes to be followed by 20 minutes of discussion with the audience.

Graduate Student Submissions

Graduate students are encouraged to submit within the poster category, although graduate students may submit individually or participate with a sponsoring faculty member in any of the above formats. IDEC encourages individuals who aspire to enter the academy to submit abstracts so that they may receive feedback and helpful suggestions. Additionally, top scoring graduate submissions will be evaluated for the Graduate Scholar Research Award.

Graduate students will identify their status on the online submission form. Presentations of the accepted abstract will follow the formats listed above.

Submission Limits

In order to support the increasing quality of scholarship being offered at Conference, a limit is imposed on the maximum quantity of abstract submissions. Authors serving in the role of primary, or lead contributor are limited to two (2) abstract submissions. No limit is imposed on a faculty member serving as coauthor for student submissions. However, an individual may only present one poster. If two are accepted, the presenter may choose which one will be presented at the conference or the presenter must designate co-author who will engage the audience during the poster session.

Submission Requirements

Submissions that do not satisfy all requirements will be disqualified from review.

Original Work Statement

Scholarship submissions must be original work of the author or authors. Existing precedent work of the author and/or of others that directly influenced the scholarship should be cited in the submission. Scholarship previously published or presented must be significantly built upon for consideration. Submissions found in violation of this policy will be disqualified from review.

Schedule of Presentation

Every effort to avoid conflict in presentation times is made. Your provision of co-author/co-presenter and panelist names is necessary at the time of submission, even if their attendance has not yet been confirmed. Once the schedule is set, changes are not possible due to the pairing of paper topics and the many demands of conference scheduling. We appreciate your help and understanding very much.
