niyi2u: Good Day, House, Kindly help me on this issue that is driving me crazy. I drive a 2002 Honda Accord V.Tech Engine. My right wheel tire wobbles when I speed up to about 40 or 60. When I take off my feet from the pedal it stops wobbling. A number of times my mech told me to change both up and down bolts and the arm. Whenever I do that I only notice the changes for about 2weeks and it wil become obvious again. Changed the hub, did wheel balancing and aligement but same thing still keep occurring. A mech complained that my right back tire was bad and its the one causing the front right wheel tire to wobble . My Vulganizer checked it and said the tire is not in a bad state to cause the front right wheel to wobble. I changed that tire and replaced it with my extra tire after changing the bolts again. After about 2weeks I started feeling the right front wheel wobbling again. All this has been going on for about 4 months now back and forth. I am extremely disturbed now. Someone should kindly assist me on what can be happening. What exactly do you mean by 'wobbling'? Does your steering wheel jerk from side to side in your hand while driving at top speed and your car vibrates at the same time? Do you hear some noise from your front wheels, especially when turning? |

sicario1: I have already scanned the car. Knock sensor is ok. No engine specific error apart from engine coolant temp p0428 or so. It rattles heavily when accelerating. Its mechanical.
Is it safe to replace crankshaft or new engine? Ok. Then replacing your engine is the better option. If you buy a very good engine, there should be no headache popping up. |

sicario1: I have an engine with a loud knocking noise most especially when accelerating. Was considering getting a new engine at 250k so I can have peace of mind. My mech suggested it's fixable that I shouldn't spend that much. Came up with the quotes below:
Oil pump: 45k Crankshaft: 75k Oil filters: 8k Roughly 150k for repairs.
Replacing the above will eliminate and return the engine to the best sound that's what he claims. gurus I need your advise? The engine doesn't smoke or short oil. What's the best choice.
2008 Honda Accord Run a diagnostic scan on the car to obtain objective clues. For instance, a faulty knock sensor may be responsible, and replacing it should solve the problem. Good luck. |

otunbakolawole: for two days now I have noticed that my coolant pours on the ground every morning. all the fans are working. yesterday I replaced the coolant. drove to work no problem. got back late. coolant all on the floor this morning. even the radiator looks empty. what could be wrong? What are the specifications of your car? Meanwhile, examine the following: 1) Water pump 2) Metallic pipe connecting water pump to engine block 3) Examine your idle air control valve (is it dry or stained with coolant?) 4) Drive the car unto a ramp and examine the engine bay from below. Generally, coolant stains the area of leakage most. Rarely, leakage may be from the engine block. 5) Examine the radiator and it's connecting pipes (one above and one below) for signs of leakage. Report any any findings here. Regards! |

damuseron: Yes it get short Sir, While I agree with Gazzuzz that your engine already has some wear and tear, I don't believe the engine is 'spent' or 'gone', therefore needing a replacement (the replacement you will get in the market is not likely to be brand new anyway. It would also have some wear)... Especially if you are very sure it does not burn oil/ smoke. What you need do is to switch to an engine oil which is more viscous and stable at sustained high temperature. While several authorities would recommend a viscous mineral oil like the 20W-50 for a depreciating engine (like Gazzuzz has prescribed), I would suggest a viscous synthetic blend like the Mobil1 0W-40 for your engine. It is more stable at sustained high temperatures for prolonged periods (seeing that you travel a lot), compared to mineral oil. It is far less likely to dry up when you travel long distances like Lagos to Katsina, and it lubricates better. Although, it's more expensive than the mineral oils. Cheers! |

May the gods watch over her and protect her wherever she may be. I hope she would return safely. Thank you. We don't have that information on what she wore yet. However, she was on her way to her home. It is likely she would have taken a commercial bike to get home. The location she was last seen is Canoe area of Ajao Estate, Isolo, Lagos. |

rofemiguwa: See Be calm Ma'am. While you await a new gear knob, you can still drive the car in the meantime by following the following instructions: 1) Peep inside the hole where the gear knob used to occupy and remove all remaining plastic chips with a screwdriver (a torch may be of assistance). 2) You will see an upright metal rod inside, with a slanting top. Whenever you need to move the gear stick, you must stick in your index finger and feel for the slanted tip of the rod. Then, depress (press down) the rod. Once the rod is depressed, you can shift the gear. **I hope you find this helpful. Cheers!! |

Flyingman: Thanks for the response. Not at all. The engine was changed a couple of months ago. Maybe they forgot. Found a loose wire with no connector. We got a single pin and connected to the sensor. Tho issue persist.
The knocking noise is quite intense only when accelerating. Someone suggested changing the top cylinder head will eliminate the noise completely that the knock sensor isn't the cause. Ok Sir. Instead of taking these 'suggestions' of replacing cylinder head etc, I suggest you run a diagnostic scan on the car first. You don't necessarily have to be trying out random maneuvers. It wastes time as well as resources, and more problems may be created in the process. |

sicario1: I have an 08 accord with engine knocking noise on cold start and when accelerating. When i take my leg off the pedal or normal idling. it sounds great and quiet. scanning throws a knock sensor code. Had a peep at the sensor and found no wire connection/connector to it. Will locating the cable and connecting fix this knocking sound or is there other things to look out for. Did someone work on your engine (say your kick starter) recently? There should be a wire plugged into the socket on the knock sensor, and that socket has a key that keeps the wire in place. It is easy to forget to re-connect the wire if not observant. Plug that wire into the socket and observe if that solves the problem.. I expect it to solve it, if sensor good. Ideally, you should clear the code and re-scan after driving for the day. If the code still pops up, then sensor may be bad. |

JayZ55: Please assist me, I drove through water which wasn't deep enough to cover my bumper but was deep enough to touch it and a few minutes later, turned off the car. The following morning it refused to start. My mechanic isn't close and i know what inexperienced mechanics can do to a honda accord, please what could be wrong with the car so I can tell a mechanic what to check for before he starts putting his fingers everywhere. Its a 2007 honda accord V6. There was no strange noises in the car after passing through the water besides the belts which I guess must have been sand or something, now it only cranks but wont start and no water got into the cabin. Thanks Hope you haven't sucked up a bit of fluid into your combustion chamber via your air intake hose. Remove your spark plugs and crank engine. If you observe some fluid pushed out of one or more of the orifices, there goes your problem. Replace the spark plugs, then start the car normally. Lesson: Always avoid driving through flood. It could wreck your engine instantly. |

The order in which the cars go depends on the traffic laws of the country. This could be anywhere in the world.
Assuming this situation is in Nigeria, the 'highway code' (a mandatory handbook for all drivers, produced by the FRSC) states that at an intersection, give way to traffic on the LEFT.
That implies 2-1-3 is the correct order in Nigeria. |

Kemizee: Thanks man for the response but am still very much interested to know if the ATF DW1 is the only oil I can use.Does every Honda Accord user use this oil?Am considering it's price. Are other oil brands incompatible with the transmission?I know there is a recommended oil for Honda Engines but it's expensive and so majority of people use regular oils like Mobil;Forte,Conoil etc.Is it the same with the transmission?Wat are d good alternatives to the DW1? When it comes to transmission matters, it saves you cost in the long run to follow manufacturer specifications. Honda now recommends ATF-DW1 for their engines, not Dexron II, flying horse, Mobil or whatever all those alternatives are. Just think of the cost of replacing your gearbox by the time you get it damaged by using 'alternative' transmission fluids. You'd probably realize it is safer to use ATF-DW1, even though expensive. I suggest you use ATF-DW1. I'm sure you don't want your transmission destroyed any time soon. |

The other alternative Gazzuzz mentioned, OGUAWA, seems absolutely unheard of here in Ib.

Certainly, it's the American University of Nigeria in Yola. I have met students of the institution several times aboard airlines from Abuja-Yola and Yola-Abuja. That is the only institution in Nigeria where students take a #25,000 (at least) flight from Abuja to school (Yola) in the morning AND still take a flight back to Abuja in the evening after school, where their parents' driver would be waiting to pick them home. That is how some university students go to school and back on a daily basis in this Nigeria! .. Just like taking a 25k taxi to and from school everyday. These kids are so clean, rich and they speak good English with a sweet accent (most are northerners/ Fulani). Their girls are the most beautiful (natural beauty, no makeup or padding) i've seen anywhere in Nigeria. I experienced all this first-hand, not that someone told me some fables. Igbinedion University kids must be wretched when compared to these lot at Yola. Ask any Arik or IRS air staff if you think say na wash |

GAZZUZZ: lubricate the ball bearing first, then try OGBUTA or oguawa. Works 10/10 times for me Thanks Gazzuzz I have no issues with the ball bearing, although i'll lubricate it as advised. My problem is the flat metallic brace that is glued directly to the windscreen. It falls off mostly when I park the car in the sun. A few times at night though (esp with super glue). The bulk of the mirror is usually mounted on that brace (Honda Accord 2003) |

Please, what is the permanent solution to securely sticking back my rear view mirror?
After a windscreen change years ago, it's been falling off every now and then. I've used blue gum, 4-minute set, super glue, all with no permanent effect.
Any evidence-based advice on way to go, pls? |
