my GCMS note would tell us more. Is quite a pity they rejected your application, but I'm confident you will be approved if you address the issue of fund and reapply. Meanwhile you may go a bit further to share your full profile. Also assist with sample of "affidavit of good character). |

Chocs: Hello, I think not all institutions do this (differential fee thing) They just give a price for domestic students(lower), and a higher price for international students In this case what should I state on Form IMM1294 as the Tuition fee? Should it be only the aspect of the fee denoted as Tuition or should it be Tuition fee plus International Differential Fee? Because the fees were stated differently in the fees schedule and offer letter. |

Luckymama: What are international differential fees? The differential fee is usually charged/paid only by non-Canadians |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Nastan: 10:29pm On Sep 25, 2020 |
Luckymama: Suggestions: 1. Can you look for a cheaper school? 37k is a lot of money. My tuition for UBC was 18k for a two year masters and I had 14m in my account and my first application was still rejected. 2. Build your account and especially your husband’s to show that he can continue to fend for your family 3. Get your mum to transfer whatever tangible sum she can into your account and write a letter of support that she is supporting your education with so and so amount which she has already transferred into your account 4. If your school has a good return policy you may pay at least one semester school fees. @author=Luckymama Does your 2yrs tuition fee of $18k also includes "international differential fees? |

Please I need clarification; when applying to University for Graduate Diploma, in filling the IMM1294 form, what should one select between college certificate, Masters Degree Or Others?
My Course is:
BMT1B - Business Analytics Level: Baccalaureate Diploma |

Lekiboboe: Really, if you were aware when he was filling the form, he should have asked you and then relate the Question in the forum
Yes, there is no PG.Cert in the drop down options. Since he was going for a PG.Cert, what he ought to have selected is College Certificate not Diploma. So his selection in the IMM(SP form) has contradicted his LOA (PG.Cert.).
He should have submitted his ID Card , that would have also complimented the letter the organization gave him.
I would assume his Sponsor would be be his Dad or Mum, or Sibling since he didn't upload his bank statement due to the irregular payment he gets from the organization he works. Please can you clarify further? I am having the same challenge, I couldn't find Post Graduate Diploma on the drop-down. What I did was to select "others". Is there any other option I could have selected? I'm yet to submit my application, my admission is from University. |

Nastan: My good people of Nairaland, Calvary greetings to you all!
I have come again for your worthy advise as usual.
I am going for a 2yrs baccalaureate Diploma, commencing in Winter term, and I'm planning to submit my application for Study Permit anytime next month. But my worries are:
1. Whether 8m is adequate for proof fund
2. The said amount came into my accounts on 26th Aug (3m) and 2 Sept (5m), in two savings accounts I maintain in different banks. By the time I will submit my SP application, the funds would be barely a month and 2weeks in my account.
Please will it have negative implication on my application?
Note: My school didn't demand for any tuition deposit but I intend paying my first semester fees of about 2.2m (CAD7,660) and attach same to my Student Permit Application.
I will appreciate advise/suggestions on the above.
Thanks My Tuition for 2yrs of the program is 13,000 CAD + CAD10, 000 Intl differential. The school is Cape Breton University, Sidney Nova Scotia; annual rent is about CAD7800. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Nastan: 12:31pm On Sep 16, 2020 |
greis1: Hello, please see my response to your questions:
1. Whether 8m would be enough is subject to your tuition and living cost. Where is your school? How much is rent for a year? How much is your tuition fee? You need to show the officer that you have enough funds to cover for at least a year, and you'll have extra left. Just don't give them any chance to think you would need a part-time job to survive.
2. You would need to have a strong SOP and explain how you got your entire POF in a space of one week. Has your account been having such inflow and outflow before now. I'd advise you convert those funds to Fixed Deposit of T-Bills.
Again, this is no guarantee, just an advice. @greis1 Thanks for your advise and insight. My Tuition for 2yrs of the program is 13,000 CAD + CAD10, 000 Intl differential. The school is Cape Breton University, Sidney Nova Scotia; annual rent is about CAD7800. |

Please I need answers for below questions to help me fill IMM1294:
1. Should I input total program fees on the column for Program Tuition or should I state only the Tuition amount+ Int'l fee differential?
2. How do I determine the program end date as it was neither stated on the Offer Letter nor Acceptance letter?
3. My parents are late. Should I also fill them in my family information? If yes, will I need to get their Death Certificates? And what should I choose as their Marital Status: "Physically Married", "Married" or "Widowed"?
Thank you. |

Frankrobbn1: Please don't conceal any information from the immigration of Canada because you will continue with same data you've given to them for your study permit and in any of your future applications with IRCC. I would advise that you should declare your already attained master's degree and begin afresh by applying for a second master's degree than a Post Baccalaureate diploma program. Your visa application success is relatively slim with a PGD on file.
By the way, have you paid any deposit to the school in order to secure your seat in the program? Why are you finding it difficult to begin a fresh application by applying for a master's program? In the case of an introduction letter from your employer, this can always be issued at any given time, it shouldn't influence your resolution to put in a weak application.
As per your choice of program, I would appreciate if you search on google for schools that may be offering those shortlisted programs.
Let me know if you have any other questions
It will end in praise. Thank you. |

Pee2Jay9: Do u think it's progressive? If yes, make the VO see it like u see it.. I'm guessing u know which it is, before u made ur choice. Pls check this school well o, are you sure that u can get PGWP with it? Please is there a DLI that one cannot get PGWP with? How do check it if that's the case? |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Nastan: 12:07pm On Aug 31, 2020 |
Frankrobbn1: Save your yourself the stress, the time, the money and energy and apply for a second master's that is not related to your first masters in Insurance and Risk Management. My reasons being that its much more achievable to bring up reasonable points as to why you're going for a second masters than a PGD. A post Baccalaureate diploma would not be feasible in your case as you're going for a program that is lower than your already completed degree and as such the visa officer will see you as a potential emigrant who is using study permit to facilitate relocation to Canada rather than educational advancement.
All things considered, you can also explore your chances of emigrating successfully to Canada as a permanent resident by calculating your CRS score to know if you qualify to enter the EE pool.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
It will end in praise. @Frankrobbn1 thank you for coming through. Please what if I choose not to declare that I already have a Master's, will there be any implication? Note that my employer has given me a letter of introduction, and I think a qualification in Business Analytics as a banker will be seen by VO as upscaling my skill set. Meanwhile are there affordable schools for Masters in Business Analytics or Financial Analytics that I can apply for now? Thanks |

Dear good people of Nairaland, please I was offered admission by Cape Breton University into Baccalaureate Diploma Business Analytics, commencing this fall. But I already have Msc in Insurance and Risk Management.
Will the VO see it as progression or regression or should I apply for another Masters program. I am currently working with a financial institution.
Please I need your advise and any useful resources that will be of help. |

dayjeee: Thank you sir. The reason why I decided I want to go for the diploma course is because of the fee, its cheaper than PGD/C Secondly, most of the PGD/C i have seen are 1year program, and I want a 2year program, in order to get 2 to 3 years PGWP, and that's is what most diploma offer.
The reason I wanted to go for management related courses is because it will be a little bit easier to secure a job in a qualified NOC if i want to apply for PR. Moreso, I have more than 2 years work experience as a CSO in a financial institution.
I will still appreciate your contribution and direction. Thank you I am afraid the reason for your choice of programme is lame and could amount to fruitless effort. I will suggest you apply for GDP/C. You can check Cape Breton University (Post-Baccalareate Diploma in Business Analytics, Business Management and Supply Chain Management). Good luck! |
