can anybody help with this ☝️
Ifeoma77:
1. Write an urgent mail to your VO and ask for extension. Explain your reasons and attach the itinerary/tickets for your journey. They'll respond and give you time.
2. You can submit your passport after you land in your destination (if you'll be there for a while). Just send it back via courier and make arrangements for it to be couriered back to you. Takes a little under 3 weeks for AVO to finish with your passport.
If your VO is Accra abeg copy Sydney and Ottawa when writing to request extension for maximum effect. Raise CSE as well. Use all available channels

Hi all,
Just in case this thread gets closed at pg 500, I will come back to edit and give a full story when it's all done

AOR 21/5/18
Medical passed 6/6/18
Auto silence!!!!!
ADR: 8/2/19 (famous 5)
1st PPR: 3rd April, 19
1st COPR: 25th April 19. Issued counterfoil expiry 29th April, 19
2nd PPR: 30th April, 2019
Awaiting reissue of counterfoil.
It's been a long journey. I've done medicals twice, done passport transmission and all the works twice as well. But it will surely end in praise for us all.

Look out for longer post in a few days.

Hello,
Please aside gift deed and showing the money in your account for at least 6 months, are there any other ways to show proof of funds? you can use Treasury bills, mutual funds, pension funds (most only give 25% after 4 months of leaving the company), sale of land, houses etc the options are limitless

And when using NYSC as your work experience. Do we start counting from the day we went to camp or the day we got accepted by our PPA? if PPA is generous to give you a letter starting from the day you went to camp that will be very nice as it will make a full year otherwise, if you be short by 3 weeks. If you can convince your PPA to include the 3 weeks of camp, please do.

Thank you

Hello Nairalander , I need held on how to merge my files together. It’s been hard for me to do and I have limited time. Please it’s urgent. Thanks
Google search "pdfmerge", it allows you drop all documents you want to merge accordingly and merges them then downloads a single file for you. Just follow the instructions. After merging and downloading it deletes your files off the server within an hour but I always manually delete them immediately. Hope it's helpful

Hi folks, please how much is medicals at Q-life and can someone do the medicals before getting ITA and then submit it when needed?
sibabe25:
I heard the cost for Q- life is N35k for adults but i'm not sure of the price unless you call.. I'd love to know if you can have your medicals before getting ITA
Rule of thumb is to have your medicals as close to application submission as possible. Simply because medicals have a one year validity and as much as you maybe sure of ITA soon if that is even predictable these days. If you are not able to submit your application on time and it stretches to the 60days period which is almost 2/3 months on your medicals already and your application takes a long time to decide, your medicals might expire or if PPR is granted very close to medical expiry, you will need to redo medicals at some point

Will definitely discuss with her.

She even suggested she starts her PhD in SA by January next year, and start applying for another one in Canada against September next year (as all schools have closed their application portal for this year) while we pursue the PR stuff.

I just hope we will have enough money for this.

Thank you very much
You're welcome sir. If your family starts the FSW process immediately, you will most likely get PR before January next year. Is the PhD in SA sponsored ie on scholarship? If it isn't, please do a scale of preference

If you were my brother, I would tell you to start now. Immigrant programs are not going to be here forever. once they reach whatever quota targets they are aiming at, the door would close. Then migrating would become more difficult like it is in the UK. There is so much people that the infrastructure can sustain e.g the healthcare system here is already getting strained. Government can change and policies can change e.g the USA. In addition, you are not getting any younger. The younger you are, the easier it takes to successfully integrate into the system. Your wife can always transfer or restart her phd program in Canada. I have seen Nigerians even moving from Province to province to restart a phd program so what is South Africa. The Phd program from South Africa would also not open a lot of doors here anyway.

I do not know about cost of application and timeline questions. Maybe someone here can help you on that.
Hi Yinka78, if you were my brother I will advise same. Start the EE process, immigration programs are not for ever and even if the program is still on in 4 years, it will be more stringent.
Your kids are also at an easier age to reintegrate them into a new culture and society, in 4 years you will be 45 and your wife will be 36 which will be a bit more difficult.
Also if your wife wants to continue as a lecturer, the best bet is to start that PhD in Canada as she will have more opportunities to be a lecturer assistant or so from her PhD study and graduate into a professoral role. Forget about the duration of the program, it is for a purpose, of what use will it be for her to obtain a PhD from S.A. after three years and still struggle when she gets to Canada to get a job?
Start the process, get your Canadian PR and let Madame start school in Canada as it will be cheaper for her, she will also get more scholarship opportunities.
Sit with Madame and talk this over. Canada looks like a better option right now.
Meanwhile visit the sister thread to get more info on the FSW program and migration.

If you feel bored, I suggest you join your village or state meeting. There, you will connect with a lot of people. There is one primary school close to St Charles lwanga Catholic church Adjame. Visit there on Sunday, as it serves as venue for all Igbo meetings. If you are Yoruba, enter most small scale building material shops. Na Yorubas mostly get am. If you are an Hausa, talk to Suya sellers. If you are a Catholic, go to same Charles lwanga on Sunday by 8am. If a Muslim, you will meet many Yorubas in the mosque.
If you're a Christian, there is a vibrate English speaking non denominational church International Fellowship of Christians (IFC) in Riviera Palmeraie, near the Sisters of Notre Dame House. You can reach them on +22506063107. It's a very multinational church as well.

Topshow4real:
Hi bro, how about their education system for kids. Are subjects thought in French? And how much is the fee per term. Thanks
There are about three good English speaking schools in the Abidjan area American Intl school, Morning Glory and The International English School of Abidjan. But like someone has pointed out. They're very expensive, average school fees is about 3mill CFA/year for the last 2. Of course the American school is way above that. However if your kids are very little say just starting primary school it would be more beneficial to have them in a French school as kids learn very quickly and it will be easier for them in the long run.

Goodafternoon great people. I am the PA.I have my POF in a joint account with my spouse. My salary account has no significant savings. I have applied for 6months payslip from my place of work. In the circumstance, will the 6months payslip dispense with printing a 6months statement of my salary account? Since am not using my salary account as POF,do I still need to get SOA and bank ref letter from my salary bank account? Or just the payslip will suffice alongside SOA, bank ref letter from me and my hubby's joint account,?

Secondly, i have an existing 5yrs trv visa issued last year in which I did biometrics last year. I am post ITA now . Will I be requested to do another biometrics ??

Please i need responses on this. God bless u all
Ifeoma77:
If no part of your POF is in the salary account, then you have no business with SoA from there.
Your payslip backs up your employment claim so that's good to add.
Yes, you will do another biometrics
Hmmm @Ifeoma77 these people are shifting the goal post daily. I've just been asked for Additional documents and one includes SOA from salary account for the job I claimed points for. I left the job before AOR and submitted pay slips with my letter in CIC format. This account isn't the one with my POF. I am currently 10 months post AOR. I'm not saying people should follow suit, just so they are aware it is coyld be asked for from anybody at anytime. I've also read such cases on canadavisa forum but usually with London VO. Someone a few pages back was also asked for Salary SOA.

Congrats @oluphilip2008 on your landing.

I'm interested in the shrink-wrapping. Pls confirm if it is standard procedure that all "ghana must go" bags be shrink-wrapped at the airport i.e. you cannot complete your check-in without the shrink-wrapping.
"Ghana must go" rips easily. With all the travelling, connecting flights and rough handling by baggage handlers the best option is to shrink wrap.

If you are asked to redo medicals, you book appointment again like the first process. However, you would have a maximum of 1 month to redo the medicals (thats what applied in my case) so you have to book with the clinic with closest date. Amount for medical is as per rate on the day of medical.

I dont think you can fast track after you redo medicals but request for passport happened few days after my medicals and visa issued is valid till the expiration of new medical anniversary or passport expiration - whichever comes first.
Many thanks for your response. Appreciate it

You'd be doing basically the same thing. No discount/preferential treatment. You'll have to book in accordance with the physician of your choice. The most you can do to hasten the process is to emotionally appeal to the physician clinic.
Thanks for your response. This is so annoying especially when it's not the applicants fault. All plans thrown to the winds. Didn't mind the delay before but it's beginning to wear me out. AVO really needs to do better.

Good day, please will really appreciate some clarification. I've posted on the sister thread as well:

Medicals are due to expire in 2 months, even if PPR and COPR are issued within this timeframe, chances of landing before expiration of medicals are very slim at this point. If asked to redo medicals (which hasn't been asked yet), is there a way to fast track this process? Will it be just a case of walking into any of the chosen physicians for this or one has to go through the long process of booking an appointment and is the amount to redo medicals same as the initial amount paid?
Thanks

Hi guys...

I just thought to ask how the waiting experience has been for you.

How has the patience virtue been building up....

Do you care to share your thoughts??

Today, I'll be very much available to assist as many people in this journey... but I'll still reiterate... before you ask, ensure you have read page 1 first. That is the only passport you need to get a response from anyone here.

Cheers and have a blissful day!!!

Love you all my fellow Canadians!!
8 months post AOR. Decided to order notes in Dec, just got them today - no issue with my application yet no checks have been started. Even eligibility is not started *smh! Last time any movement was done was in June - AVO!!!! Sent Accra an email some days back to request for updates, got response today that file is in queue for review. Life is going on in the meantime. So everyone waiting should keep busy, when I see Nov or Dec AORs complaining I just shake my head. It will definitely end in praise!

Ok cool..
I hope it will be shorter since they are returning within the UK.. lol.. I just hopeo
Thabks for letting me know . appreciate.. Will keep you updated if I get a reply from them next week.. if no reply might have to cancel the visa I applied for with them!
I will suggest you try and call home office as well and hear what they say, since yours isn't a tourist visa. I am assuming you are in the UK right? There are other things to weigh in on, if you withdraw your application, it will mean you no longer have a valid application and may have just a 28 days period to legally remain in the country. If your passport takes longer than 4 weeks to come back, what do you do? All I am saying is thread on the side of caution. Make sure you call home office 1st thing Monday morning, they should be able to make provision, even it means temporarily putting your application on hold (at least this will be done from a legal perspective and you still have legal cover to remain in the county), but not for you to out rightly cancel it. I am making these suggestions assuming you are currently in the UK.

Please, examine my take on this issue, and let me know what you think, and the way out of this if you've found any? Also, you can reconnect with @blessings2017 and let's brainstorm all these scenarios. Thank you for your time, and best wishes.
Just to add my 2 cents, debt is not such a private matter as you think it is. Your debtor is always on the look out for how to recover owned monies therefore will not hesitate to supply your information to organizations that require such.
For starters why do you think there is a request for travel history and police certificates? Supplying your travel history to any org/person is giving them express permission to scrutinize your activities while in said countries. You will be surprised what information will come up if the debtor Google searches their name. Also best to declare these things before any further issues arises. I will also give advise that was given to OP, - clear the debt.

Hello all,

In the bid to claim more point i have decided to add my NYSC work experience to my years of experience. The problem is i served in Gboko Benue state and i cant possibly go back their for work reference letter, if i get someone who has a company and is also willing to issue me a reference letter as at my service date and i can back it up with my account statement where my allawee was paid will this be acceptable by CIC?

I must say You all are doing a great job.
This is fraudulent to say the least. If you are not willing to make sacrifices for your benefit this early on in the process, how much more packaging will you do as the process continues? If you can't make the effort to travel to get the letter or get someone to do it in your PPA on your behalf, then forget claiming the points for it. We are all here to encourage sincerity in this journey IMO
