Ileke-IdI:Please stop asking some so not intelligent questions here, haven't you had friends or relations who have done the scheme. Pls check www.nysc.gov.ng for all the information you need. Ileke-IdI:Well you can as well stay in the USA and forget about your ambition to work in the public sector in Nigeria or taking up some political offices. No need to curse. |
OP have you ever sat down with your husband to discuss his reasons for disliking your friend? Also I think you should try and find out from your friend if anything has ever transpired between her and your hubby. You might feel you know all about your friend but there could be that one thing you don't know, because if your friend is not a wayward person then I see no reason why your hubby should dislike her so much. So ask your hubby lovingly if there is something he knows that you don't know about your friend. Cheers |
werepeLeri: LOL - u r still sweet sixteen. This is very wrong information, there is no age discrimination between Nigeria trained and foreign trained graduates. The age limit for NYSC is 30 meaning that if you are 30 years old and above by graduation then you are exempted from the scheme but as long as you were below 30 when you graduated, you will have to do NYSC no matter how old you are. That is why you have some elderly people doing the scheme sometimes. |
Tiana155: @bluebarz, it's funny how you had fun in awgu camp, i could tell from your words, you really went prepared, although we have some corpers here who are having fun as you had. But not me. @nat, i'm in female hostel E, i didnot enjoy the mountaineering i had a sprained ankle and my trouser tore straight up embarassing, I agree with you the sanitary facilities is very very poor, The security also very poor. BUT THE VIEW I LOVE IT! The hills i mean.EYya babes, these things happen. Well just one more week to go and you are out. This last week, everything automatically calms down, and it's more relaxing. Yeah the Awgu view is beautiful if you are a lover a nature, you will appreciate it more. Awgu camp must be one of the most porous security wise. bluebarz: @nat u are really a batch C corper like me. I can't forget that Capt Ayodele watever is in the middle ogunmakinwa God bless u sir. Talkless of my main man RSM (he calls me bier bier cos I had long goatie back den) and when he was pissed of he'll tell us " you will suffer like lucifer". Remember the great khali too? Dat huge soldier. I stayed in hostel M. While hostel K was always the hostel dat suffered in the hands of RSM. Maybe u can remember one guy hu won a DVD on MTN night then also won a PHONE during the dance competition on campfire nyt hosted by airtel (that guy is me). Olowokere was a real father, esp the way he handled those guys who stole a blackberry in camp. Camp was fun for me cos I came prepared for irregularities. Abi was it the mami mkt and alomo tins or the short putting behind hostel K? It was generally fun for me oh. I have full video coverage of all my activities in awgu camp. And for that stream it was a hidden thing, it only took guts for us to always sneak, go der and hav a sweet cool bath without bodering to hassle for water. Remember wen the tanker fell down too and crushed peoples fones where they where been charged? It affected my Bold 2 and Nokia E75 in the charging zone also. Maybe we should include pictures here for clarities. How on earth could I forget our RSM, that man speaks almost all the Nigerian languages. Just tell him where you are from and he automatically switches to your language. Well I didn't attend most of the social events in camp jare, couldn't just be bothered with them after a tiring day. I just attended the Miss Indomie contest and the debates cos I was to represent my platoon for the debate but lost my voice that night! Lol. Then I attended the bonfire solely because we were forced out of the hostel. But I was a frequent mami market goer, I never tasted any food from camp kitchen throughout my 3 weeks there. |
Nasty22: jst saw ur post..pls hw do i ensure dat ma bank details are included..Well I kept going to the account section at the NYSC Secretariat and a lady there was kind enough to help me check the previous payment schedules. |
@Bluebarz what batch were/ are you? I am batch C, did my orientation camp at Awgu, I didn't find that place funny one bit. I enjoyed the mountaineering, that must have been one of the best parts of camp for me. Everything else was just blah. The poor sanitary facilities in the camp was another story. Yeah Elder Olowokere was the main G, a father to the core and I remember our camp commandant that we had to shout "God bless you sir" to every morning and evening. Lol, I think his name is Capt OgunMakinwa or so, can't really remember his name now. But the staff in camp were generally nice. @Tiana what hostel are you in? I stayed in Ojukwu bunker 2 hostel, kai that is another story entirely. Don't worry those soldiers will soon get tired, na initial gra gra dey do them. Have a good time and try and make friends, it helps ease the tension |
I am a batch C corps member, redeployed from one of the Eastern states to Abuja, wasn't paid February to May, when I kept insisting to know what was wrong despite submitting PC (performance certificates monthly), I found out that my banks details weren't included on the payment schedule. Staff claimed my bank didn't send my details to them (becos in Abuja, the banks are responsible for sending your account details to the NYSC secretariat). Well when I discovered this, I gave them the details which they put on the payment database. I got paid for June. I have to apply for the previous 4 months. Which I will do when the staff get back from camp. Hope you all get sorted out soon |
@ OP, it is really difficult to understand how you can date a girl for 10 years, and she has never come across a situation where you've been addressed by your ral name. Hasn't she ever been to where you work? Or you have also told the people at work to address you by the other name she knows? Or hasn't she come acroSs any receipts of stuFf you've paid for like rent, water bills etc? It is really hard to believe. And I mean what is all this talk about reporting you to the NBA?? Did you use the fake result for admission? You said NO, and also wasn't this security job thingy long before you got into uni to study for your law degree?? Bottomline, she deserves to know the truth, and whatever she does, you should accept it in good faith as the consequence for your actions. Cheers |

Nice piece of work here @Naijasexy. You should really consider taking writing seriously though. Cheers |
Good day all, Please I want to know if Zoom internet service still work in Abuja. I have been to their office in Wuse 2 like thrice and the place is always under lock and key. Please I will be grateful if anybody has information on this. Thanks |
EXCLUSIVE: Boko Haram speaks: Why we attacked THISDAY 26/04/2012 19:57:00 Premium Times Font size: The sect says more media houses might be attacked The extremist sect, while claiming responsibility for Thursday's attacks, says more bombings are coming the way of the media The Jama'atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda'awati Wal-Jihad, popularly known as Boko Haram, says it attacked THISDAY Thursday to send a strong message to the media that it would no longer condone reports misrepresenting it in the press, or blaming it for acts it knows nothing about. Abul Qaqa, spokesperson for the sect told Premium Times, in an exclusive interview, that his organisation was fed up with the deliberate misinformation being peddled about it in the Nigerian and foreign media. “We have repeatedly cautioned reporters and media houses to be professional and objective in their reports. This is a war between us and the Government of Nigeria; unfortunately the media have not been objective and fair in their report of the ongoing war, they chose to take side,” Mr. Qaqa said. He identified three instances where he claimed his group was deliberately misrepresented by the media. The first, according to him, was the rumour of his capture by the Nigerian intelligence agencies. “Some reporters are aware that I am Abul Qaqa, they know my voice through our long interactions and they also know the role of Abu Darda who heads the enlightenment committee and sometimes facilitates interviews; yet they (media) go by the unsubstantiated view of government that Abul Qaqa is in custody and I am the new spokesman or number two,” he said. Premium Times had continuously reported that Abul Qaqa was not arrested contrary to reports and that it was Abu Darda, another member, that was arrested. The second misrepresentation, according to Mr. Qaqa, was the reporting on the kidnappings of foreigners in the Northern part of Nigeria. “Another issue was the recent kidnappings in the north; we were clear with our position as a group during a teleconference with reporters but we were shocked the next day when newspaper headlines added a lot of things which I never said during that interview.” The third example, Mr. Abul Qaqa said, is the mistranslation of the video the group posted recently. “Another example is the recent video posted on YouTube by our Imam; I challenge every Nigerian to watch that video again. There is no place our imam either said he will crush President Jonathan or issued an ultimatum to the government in Nigeria; but nearly all papers carried very wrong and mischievous headlines.” When asked why THISDAY appeared specifically chosen for the attack, Mr. Qaqa said THISDAY’s “sins” are more grievous. “It is not only THISDAY that has been engaged in negative media campaign, fictional stories and constantly promoting fake stories by the JTF to give an impression that they are making headway against us yet there is no time the media investigated further as an objective and responsible bystander in this war. “But the sins of THISDAY are more,” he said. “They once insulted the Prophet Mohammed in 2001 and we have not forgotten. They recently said our Imam executed me which is false. Here I am speaking to you, I am alive and healthy.” Expect more media attacks The group’s spokesman further warned of more attacks on the media. “We have just started this new campaign against the media and we will not stop here, we will hit the media hard since they have refused to listen to our plea for them to be fair in their reportage,” he said. Mr. Abul Qaqa also said his group would give further information on biases by the media. “In the coming days we will give details and instances where the media have not been fair to us and why we are going to attack them as well.” Media should be neutral “The media in Nigeria are not a problem to us if they will do their job professionally without taking sides,” Mr. Abul Qaqa said. “But each time we say something, it is either changed or downplayed. But when our enemy says something even without logical proof, it is blown out of proportion.” "We have repeated asked some reporters to retract some stories or even give us the right of reply but none of these requests were given to us." http:///D8TpwbuX |
OP, you allowed it from the beginning, that is why she felt it was her right and the way it should be. Try and get your phone from her and take a walk. Let her carry out her insecurities on someone else. And this should be a cue to you for subsequent relationship(s), whatever you allow from the beginning will become a way of doing things. For God's sake everybody should be entitled to their privacy abeg. |
Basics007: I had this interesting experience last time i visited my elder brother. Basics007: Sincerely speaking i didnt call her nor the hubby before going there. And the reason was cos of the good rapport that used to exist btw us.You see poster, people whether family or not enjoy their privacy and will not entertain intrusion with open arms. That is the problem, when we feel we can barge into people's homes especially family unannounced. If I was your SIL, I will definitely give you the cold shoulder too, especially if my family is going through some rough time and you just happen upon us unannounced and stay for a whole week. Next time you want to stay at your brother's place, inform them minimum of a week before your arrival and see how you will be welcomed differently by your SIL as against this time. And also make alternative plans in case she starts grumbling around the house like a housefly according to you. |
I don't understand some ladies o, so is she planning to cheat on the husband? This one is she is already worried about the punishment that awaits. Are they from Edo state?? Please Op advise your friend to do all that is within his powers to make her see reason but if she is still adamant then there is really nothing he can do. But again some ladies are really wicked, why did she wait till after the court and traditional wedding (cos to me they are already married) before coming up with this crap. As someone said, good riddance. |
Good day all, please I need help with my blackberry. I use a blackberry 9360 (Curve 4). This evening, the phone turned off on its own and when it rebooted, all that is showing on the screen is 'JVM Error 545' Reset (in bold). I have clicked continously on reset but it just reboots and nothing happens. Please what could the problem be and what should I do. Thanks alot. |
Gina-Ukey:Tell your friend to take the certificate given to her by the church to the registry court. The court should be able to endorse it and certify it valid. |
@ Poster, since he has allowed you access to your phone. Isn't there any close family member you can call /text, at least if someone comes over to the house, he will be forced to open the door |
honey86:Yes you can use a dollar account but ensure you use the current converter on the ukba website, I think they use Oanda to convert it to British pounds and fill in all necessary places on your application. Make it very legible if not they can claim they thought it was in the local currency (had an experince with them regarding this, and they refused me a visa But sorted it out almost immediately). |
d_surrogat:This is what happens when people become unnecessarily lazy, how long does it take to type 'Happy new year'. It is not everything you will abbreviate. I hope this teaches you a lesson. |
My brother, let me ask you a sincere question ?, if u were given the option to choose between schooling in nigeria and schooling abroad, which would you go for ?, I dont understand y some people would see and know the truth, and then they would pretent that all is well. yes of course, there are some schools where one can study in nigeria, but then , there is always a twist. Okay, check out the guy who recommended ABU ( yes , ABU is OK ), but then, at the end of his statement, he added a condition, and that is if she could cope with the issues of staying up north ( and u most definitely know what goes on up north ). Would u rather not prefer where u would study with the ease and peace of the mind ?

But understand that the poster here isn't asking about whether to school in Nigeria or not, she has made up her mind to school in Nigeria so what is people stress about that? Different strokes for different folks my brother. Also I was the one who made the initial comment about ABU Zaria, but then I had my reason for saying "if she will be able to cope in the North". And I say this because of all the stereotypes that people have about the North even without ever setting foot in any part of the region, I make it bold to say that Zaria is one of the most peaceful places in the North, rarely does any of the useless problems in some parts of the North get there, because know that the Nigerian College of Aviation, ABU, ABU Teaching Hospital, Nigeria Military School and a lot of other institutions are based in Zaria. So Zaria is one place where there is a strong military presence in times of crisis. At least I have stayed in Zaria before so I am talking from experience and not hearsay. Cheers. |
crusufixo:Don't be too fast to guess I didn't school in Nigeria, I did my undergraduate degree with all sense of pride in Nigeria, and that was a stepping stone in getting more educational qualifications elsewhere. |
It is amazing how people reason, the poster asked a very straight forward question, she didn't open this thread to get an opinion pool on whether to study in Nigeria or not, she asked where will be best for her to practise her profession in the future. For her to come back to Nigeria to get a university education must have been a well thought out decision so please let us advise her on the concerns raised and not become school counsellors in our own rights. @Poster, I know you have said Unilag so I am guessing you have made up your mind on the school you want to go to, but ABU Zaria is another good school for Pharmacy, their Pharmacy programme is well thought out, well structured and planned. That is if you think you can cope in the North though. Cheers |
CC, Arik allows 30kg each of 2 suitcases and it costs £80 for each extra bag of 30kg. I think they allow only a maximum of 4 excess luggage suitcases. Cheers |
gbaby87:Well the choice is yours to make, but know that you can't leave the airport in Dubai unless you have a transit visa( a transit visa at the airport costs €40 last I checked), because the security would let you out of the airport when you don't have a transit visa, have you actually compared the prices of these airlines at all? Emirates is one of the most expensive. Cheers |
EmmaIK: EmmaIK: Boy619:@Boy, the best thing to do at this point in time is to either get your dad to transfer money from this corporate account to his own personal account and give you all necessary documents, or he transfers the money into your own account. As long as you still turn up with statements from that corporate account whether your father is the sole signatory or not, you will be refused. Cheers |
gbaby87:Bros, what kind of Israeli journey do you want to do like this? Any particular reason why you want to fly through Dubai? From Lagos to Dubai is almost 8 hours and also almost 8 hours from Dubai to London, why not take a straight flight from Lagos (Arik, Virgin Atlantic or BA) or if you must go through another country why not use KLM or Air France. Abeg all these Israeli waka is not necessary, it's just a lot of stress. Btw, Emirates allows just 30kg from Lagos to London. Cheers |
Ignore, always works. If it is really important, the person will send a text message. |
