chyseth: Gentleman thanks for your concern, one of the few things i have learnt from this forum is that some people don't need to understand your post to reply, all they need is to find the closest derogatory word to fire at you. to such people i just smile and get over them.
Meanwhile i wasn't advocating work time discussions on issues that are not work related. Personally i don't like using office time to discuss non office related issues. what i just want is after work hello hi which am asking whether it's such a clingy demand

Moreso, i don't know how these people suddenly tagged me a talkative, please that is not how i pick up my phone to call every tom, dick and harry just because i have an itching mouth.
I am a lady not a gentleman. wink
CultureRe: 7 Facts About The North by nat138:
The ignorance of our generation amazes me, this is simple ignorance displayed on this thread. It is so sad that a thread meant to be educative has managed to be dragged in to a tribal bashing thread. It is really pathetic, please my fellow young Nigerians, our generation is supposed to be the most informed generation of the whole lot with the amount of information we have at our disposal. Lets make adequate use of such information to do away with myths that have somehow found their way to being paraded as truth.

This is one reason why I will advise the education Ministry if I had my way to make History a compulsory subject of study from primary to secondary school levels and at least as a compulsory general studies course in the first year of university.
FamilyRe: Mothers In The House, pls How Can One Cut Down On Cost. by nat138: 9:22pm On Mar 27, 2013
OP, I think you have gotten very good advise here, let me just add my two cents;
If you stay in Abuja, I know that town is a money drainer but wisdom they said is profitable to direct.
if you work; I will suggest you get together like 4-6 female colleagues yourself included and every month, you all join money together and for instance;
buy;
- a cow and share (at abbatoire) or cartons of chicken/fish
- a bag of sugar and share,
- buy a bag of milk and share.
- Buy a basket or two of tomatoes, pepper, potatoes, onions and share. Thank God you said your electricity is good, so you can just grind all the perishables, and store them in the freezer.

This is all bulk buying and since it is just yourself and hubby and occassional visitors, it should be fine.
It it less cost when you buy food stuffs in bulk with others and share.
Also you need to look into your clothes spending, please my sister you mustn't buy new clothes every month o, also no be every aso ebi you go buy. Some of these 20k aso ebi no worth am o. So abeg look well well.

Am sure for cream and soap, that is like a once in a month kind of spending but if you can get alternative then fine. Looking good is good business they say but you mustn't kill yourself to look good, get cheaper alternatives.

I don't know if you have domestic helps like gateman, laundry man, househelp, flowerman/boy etc but that could be a source of money draining as well, on the flip side you are enabling people to have a decent source of income which is good.

At 15 months, your baby should be learning to not stay in diapers 24/7 so you should look at slashing that diaper money o. and am sure his skin will be more tolerant to irritation at this age so you should look at cheaper diapers, if him dey use Huggies before maybe look into alternatives like wet-ons(don't know if I got the name right) but they sale them in bulk packs like 50-80 per pack.

at the end of the day, it comes down to discipline o, cut out implusive buying. If it is not a necessity, let it slide.
If you have time, make your own orange juice, zobo, kunu, akamu etc. they are much healthier than processed stuff.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Haba people, why are you people being so harsh on the OP. Communication is his love language and I don't think there is anything wrong with that. While other girls will kill over him because of his great communication skills, it seems his "girlfriend" whom he is conveniently calling a friend does not appreciate that very much.
OP, I know you have the need to communicate with your girlfriend every two minutes, but you must understand her kind of person (she is introverted or extroverted, what is her love language etc) as well as her work environment. I am personally against people whiling away their work time on private conversations on the phone. Discuss this issue with her and tell her how much you hurt when your communication is not reciprocated and you people should come to a level ground(compromise).

Cheers

baby_123: Dress how you want to be addressed. You probably dress like a 40yr old or dress revealing like a runs babe (no offense). Dress your age and appropriately.
Na wa o aunty/madame baby_123, sorry to disappoint you but my dressing is perfectly okay, at least am yet to get complains about my dressing.

jeffizy: I guess it has to be your stature. If so, you will have to be wary. Some men in that age range know all the tricks in and out of the books to get a woman.
My stature is good sir!
FamilyRe: Kids Say The Funniest Things by nat138: 8:08pm On Mar 20, 2013
A friend of mine told me what her three year old said to her and hubby, and na fear them dey fear the girl till tomorrow.
The daughter slept with her and hubby on their bed and wet the bed. In the morning when she asked the little girl
why she wet their bed, the daughter said the mother was accusing her falsely and since they were three that slept on the
bed the previous night, the mother should better confess or she should ask daddy if he is the one that did it.
I laughed my head off that day.

FamilyRe: How Much Do You Think Is Reasonable For Primary & Secondary School Student by nat138: 12:04am On Jan 18, 2013
sista-jay:
25 thousand naira for the secondary school pupil and 15 thousand naira for the primary school pupil.
Are you for real though?

ActiveMan: How Much Do You Think Is Reasonable For Primary & Secondary School Student As Pocket Money to school?
Well it depends on a lot of factors: are they male of female, are they in boarding school, if they are day students, do they take money to school for lunch/snacks, is their transport fare and lunch money supposed to be part of the pocket money in question I.e if they are day students? If you are Christians, is there offering money on Sunday supposed to be part of the said pocket money, is recharge card money part of the pocket money or is the pocket money just for their leisure and to be used as they deem necessary without any extra expenses. Also is this daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, termly pocket money?

FoodRe: Nutriend Vs Cerelac by nat138: 12:19am On Jan 11, 2013
You can't always tell when it comes to children's food, which is better. The best way to know which food is best for your kid is by trying the kid with the various foods till the kid is able to determine which they prefer. so you can try the various cerelac/ nutrend with you kid and I will be quick to add that just because the imported cerelac is more expensive doesn't make it the best. Also at 10 months old, the baby should already be introduced to more solid food than cerelac and nutrend. mashed potatoes, very soft boiled rice, beans and other such foods. please no salt should be added in the baby's food. I think your baby is consuming a tin of cerelac in less than five days because the food is not enough for her, introduce her to more solids. Thanks

Goodday,
Just saw this thread today, I am really in need of SQL 9i(IZ0-007)dumps. I know this particular dumps are hard to come by as
the SQL 9i has almost been phased out, but I really need the dumps to study for the IZ0-007 Exam which has been a hindrance to Oracle
issuing my OCA and OCP certificates.
So please if you have them or know where I can get them from, I will really appreciate it so much. And I don't mind paying.

Cheers

Have you also written and passed OCA and OCP? If you did the Oracle program, Oracle University always wants to send the certificates together, so if you have an outstanding exam, you need to write and pass it to get your certificates.
FamilyRe: Nanny Or Day Care Which One Is Better by nat138: 10:12pm On Jan 07, 2013
Hi, congrats on your little one.I think if you can get a nanny you can trust it will be better to have the nanny for now as the little one is still too young in my opinion for day care. Ensure to get an older trusted lady preferable one with kids to look after your baby while you are at work.
FamilyRe: How To Handle A Child's Tantrum In Public? by nat138: 5:33pm On Dec 20, 2012
I am not a mother but one thing I know is that never think your children are too young to communicate with them especially for the two year old, he understands a lot more than you think. When you are taking a kid out especially shopping, you have to strike a deal with them at home and agree on what you will get them at the shop. You will be surprised that this will work perfectly.

a little scenario

Mum: Ben, you and mummy are going to the shop
Wait for a response
Then go on to ask him/her what they will like (something very affordable, could be a chocolate etc) when you get to the shop,
And make it clear to him/her that since that is what they want when you get to the shop, you will only get what you had agreed at home for them and you tell them gently why they need to be on their best behaviour while out.

And once they have been on their best behaviour, make them feel extra special when you get home. plenty hugs and kisses for good behaviour. it may seem like nothing but you will be surprised how much they appreciate that show of love. Don't shout on them while out, I know this is hard but try your best. Nobody wants to be shouted on in public even kids.

How do I know all these, I have baby sat kids and have watched my younger ones grow.

Hope these help.

Xplodes2700: Why? Must they wear the Emblem? Is somebody thinking what am thinking? Is this a sign of membership of a ...., lipsrsealed
I am so sorry for you with this pathetic thinking of yours. Na wa for some Nigerians, why must everything have a negative meaning to it with some of you? Have you seen how the British wear their Remembrance emblems with so much pride a month or so even before Remembrance day in November every year. People actually go out of their ways to get this emblems, and churches and other charity organizations use these emblems to raise funds. yet in Nigeria with some of you it must be viewed with ulterior motives, oma she o.
Why can't we even show a little patriotism?? Is it rocket science?
CelebritiesRe: Chika Ike Proves She Is 27 By Showing Her W.A.E.C Result by nat138: 1:37pm On Dec 18, 2012
afam4eva: Here are a run down of how results are named:

A1 - Excellent
B2 - Very good
C3 - Good
C4 - Good
C5 - Good
C6 - Good
D7 - Fairly good
E8 - Fair

F9 - Fail
Just a quick correction 3 is B3 or A3, there is nothing like C3, also D7 and E8 are passes, though inconsequential in most cases, because if for instance one gets a D7 or an E8 in English Language in WAEC or NECO, one can't get admitted into the university.

FamilyRe: I Want To Buy This Washing Machine For My Wife by nat138: 1:44pm On Jul 29, 2012
I have seen a family friend with this, the clothes are washed on one side and then moved to be rinsed and spined on the other side, well I personally don't like it, if you can, get a regular washing machine for the Mrs, the stress of having to transfer clothes from one side to the other to me is work on it's own. But again if you stay in an area where constant water supply is an issue then stick to this one, since it does not need to be connected to water source like a regular machine.
