@ Poster, I will like to know where you wife is from (I mean the state and possibly ethnic group).
Because in my place, it is considered an insult to the MIL if you as much as shout at her daughter and worse if you even lift your hand on her daughter (am not saying you beat your wife oo) in her presence.
If this happens, she (MIL) may go and tell the people at home that you beat her (MIL) up.
Am not in any way supporting the way your MIL reacted to you because it is bad, and as someone has said that is not reason enough to leave your own house. Just go back, talk to your wife and let her call her mother to order. |

The most sensible option now is a very good creche, pls don't just take your little one to any kind of creche, do a comprehensive research and only take her to the creche on days that you won't be home. I suggest the crech because in a good creche, the child is not only looked after but also taught age appropriate stuff like rhymes and other things. And it helps the development of children as they learn to interact with other children
All the best. |

A friend and I were discussing this a few days ago. The fact that people in our society do not see the need to visit the doctor once in a while except for some serious ailment is one of the major reasons why people do not even detect these disorders in children, as one poster mentioned the children are quickly classified as olodos by care givers, teachers and peers. non of the many NGOs around care to look into such issues, they are only concerned about what will bring them quick money.
It is high time we rise up and make known some of these issues that are secretly lurking in the background and putting alot of strain on families. |

joyceonome: Hello house,
I found out recently that an International Company can be your Official Financial Sponsor.
1. Please what is the criteria to determine if the company meets the requirement of an International Company as stated in the Tier 4 Migrant Guidance.
2. If a student visa applicant is using this type of Official Financial Sponsor what are the documents required to make a successful Tier 4 student application.
Thank you all and looking forward to your response. midomido: @joyceonome: International company must be a company with offices in Nigeria and Abroad. Meaning that you must show the certificates of incorporation of that company in Nigeria and in Abroad. Failure to do so will result in automatic refusal of EC. My colleague had this experience and I told her that International Company MUST meet UKBA definition for International company. So, when she collected her passport she was refused on the grounds that they could not confirm that the company was an international company and that she did not provide any documentation confirming the incorporation of that company abroad i.e in the UK or any other countries except Nigeria.
these links might be useful http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/applicationforms/pbs/Tier4migrantguidance1.pdf http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/resources/en/docs/marketing/tier4maintenanceguide
amidadetayo@yahoo.com What kind of international company are we looking at here? well for instance, if you have a relative who works in an international organization or if you work in an int'l organization, the organization will have a documentation specifically stating that they are willing to sponsor your education up to a certain percentage or fully for a particular time frame. Once you have that documentation, that is the only thing you need to present for UKBA. and this documentation in most cases comes in form of a testimonial. And as the last post stated, such an organization must be international in all ramifications. |

gulag: Hey guys,
I got my entry clearance and I used a fixed deposit and a letter for my maintenance. Just wanted you guys to know fixed deposit is accepted but you need a letter which includes the term of deposit, the date of the letter, the account number of the fixed deposit, the account associated with teh fixed deposit as well as a statement that the fixed deposit can easily be liquidated to cash, and the funds can be accessed by the student.
i have a quick question for justwise and the others
1) I plan to sit the american GRE in France but I have to apply for a schengen visa, is it possible for me to apply for this visa when i get to the UK. I will only be in france for three day maximum
2) If I get into a school in the US, can I apply for a US student visa in the UK or is it advisable to apply in Nigeria. I dont want to spend money going up and down but I want to do the right thing @ Gulag, is the entry clearance a visiting visa or student's visa? because if it it a visiting visa, you cannot apply for a Schengen Visa in the UK because you cannot prove that you have ties in the UK such as studies or settlement, but if you are on a student visa, you can apply for the Schengen but you will be required to submit a reference letter from your school as one of the major requirements. And whether you are on a student or visiting visa, you will NOT be given a US student visa from the UK, you will need to go back to your country of origin/ permanent residence to apply for it. |

Well is rather unfortunate that your girlfriend kept secret the paternity of the baby from you. But I don't think that should be a hindrance to your plans if you say you love her as much as you claim, yes she lied but that is why she should be forgiven, at least she has told you the truth even if it was under duress. The fact still remains that your both families still think the child is yours and you have already endured all the insults and shame from them all these years, so why back out now? if you are really convinced she is the one for you, go for her my brother, after all you won't be the first person to father another man's child, people all over the world are doing it on a daily basis. Moreover am sure the child also believes you are his father since there is no other father figure. Anyway think about it seriously and make up you mind. And should you decide to marry her, please and please don't use this against her in future because she will feel highly betrayed.
Cheers |

If you said you are not based in Nigeria, must you come and marry in Nigeria and if you must, I guess your wife is based in Nigeria hence your desire to wed in Nigeria, what is wrong with her own church ? Meanwhile what church did you go to that they are asking you to pay for a wedding? |

@FAISVILLE
My advice to you will be that you should just take things easy and discuss with the school about starting in January that is if they have a january start date for that course, this is because even if the school gives you a two week extension, the chances to meet up will be quite slim since you are just going to even deposit the money (your funds) today which you have to wait to 28 days before you apply for a visa and the visa can take up to two weeks to be ready, though in some cases it may be less. So just explore other possibilities. And also you may want to consider other schools as Justwise suggested in the meantime except you have made up your mind about Edinburgh Napier University.
Cheers! |

Regarding your visa submission and all, there should be no cause for alarm since you have submitted it already, this is because I believe that the high commission will see the earlier stated date in your CAS letter. And moreover is just a week difference so it shouldn't be a big deal. Anyway all the best cheers! |

So JUSTWISE and ALL, am i still in order with this recent development? Would they have cause to deny me on the basis that i made a wrong entry in my form regardin the COURSE START DATE wch was previously stated as 21? Pls reply, as i am not hapi at this moment cos of dis,

HE GOT ADMISSION TO STUDY A BSC TOP-UP PROGRAM AT ROBERT GORDON UNIVERSITY SCOTLAND AND PRESENTLY, HE HAS ALL THE REQUIRMENTS.
BUT THE ISSUE GOES LIKE THIS:
HIS COMBINING TWO WAEC RESULT COS HE GOT D7 IN ENGLISH SO HE RE-WROTE ANOTHER WAEC AND PASSED ENGLISH THIS TIME BUT A MISTAKE WAS MADE IN HIS NAME AND ALSO IN HIS DATE OF BIRTH,
YOU KNOW WAEC AND THEIR SLUGGISH WAHALA, ITS GOING TO TAKE A VERY LONG TIME SOMETIMESS 2YEARS FOR WAEC TO CORRECT THE MISTAKE IN HIS CERTIFICATE.
CAN HE APPLY FOR HIS STUDENT VISA LIKE THAT OR SHOULD HE GET AN AFFIDAVIT FROM A HIGH COURT, I DONT KNOW WHAT THE BRITISH EMBASSY ACCEPTS AS MEANS OF CORRECTION UNDR SUCH SITUATION, PLZ I NEED A PROFESSIONAL ADVISE.
HE HAS OND AND HND AND HES STARTING FROM YEAR THREE DIRECTLY AT ROBERT GORDON UNIVERSITY The most important thing your friend should know about taking results to the embassy is that he should only take results that are stated on the CAS letter which is the basis on which he was given the admission, it is always clearly stated. So if it is OND or HND result that is stated as the basis on which his admission was given then he won't need to take any WAEC result to the embassy. |

sugar pp: @ 5stars the way the guy treated her is comparable to how a man will treat a love-peddler he wasnt pleased with.
1st of all a gentleman wldnt hv suggestd taking her to his house only to leave her high n dry when it came to payn 4 her taxi. What was he expectn that because she didnt hv the taxi fare she should stay over at his house fair enough he didnt force her to go but why ask her if she had taxi fare if he wasn't interested in footing the bill? also it wasnt unreasonable for the girl to assume he was going to pay for the extra expense since the night was still technically a continuation of their "date". Even if he truly didnt have the money (although i doubt that was the case) there are better ways he could have handled the situation for example promising to reimburse her at a later date or something
then after makn her go through the embarassment dnt u think it shld b up to the guy to call her first to try to smooth things over? he is meant to b wooing her
its nt about girls thinkn they r all that rather its about setting standards for what you want in a man and in a relationship theres a yoruba saying that roughly translates to "what you can't accept as an adult it is from youth you refuse it" basically by her calling him she is sending him a message that it is ok for him to use her, make her spend more money than she needed to and not expect a simple show of respect in return.
Well its up to her what she decides. Personally i think only a desperate girl would call a guy after he put her through that @ Sugarpp You should understand one thing when it comes to issues like this, lets be objective about it. 1. The guys didn't force her to follow him to his house, I mean she barely knows him, what was she following him to his house for late at night? At least am sure the guy footed the bill for the meal, so why not be grateful and find your way home 2. whatever happened to the concept of "vex money", ok deed had been done, she followed the guy and the guy didn't pay her cab fare, at least it should become an issue that is why we carry vex money abi? since she willing went to the guys house, she should have been willing to pay her cab fare. I don't know what is embarrassing in this matter oo. 3. Talking about setting standards, what standards has she set for herself? if you look at this story objectively, the girl was wrong in every ramification. lets call a spade a spade my dear. 4. I don't see any reason why the girl calling and apologising is degrading, she should apologise and get on with her life, the guy will even appreciate her more. Cheers |

Girl, never ever go out with a man and expect him to pay for anything for you, from food to taxi and all, with that in mind you still have yourself respect, is not as if you guys are dating or anything it was just a first outing if I understand perfectly, though I know the guy invited you over to his place but at least he didn't put a rope round you neck and drag you there, you had a choice whether to go or not, infact that was the first mistake you made, you should have just thanked him for the outing and gone your separate ways. For you to have stayed out until late means you knew there was a way for you to get home. Also hold your vex money ooo. As for whether what you did is wrong or not, yes you over reacted and you should apologise to the guy. As one poster said earlier, you are very lucky he didn't drug you and rape you, shows that there are still good guys around. Cheers |

I only went for MBA just to upgrade myself since i work with one of the financial institution. Well you can apply for the visa then but if I were in your shoes, I will still complete my MBA programme since you even said it ends in October, do you just want to leave the MBA programme like that without completing it to embark on another programme? when exactly in october does your programme finish and what date in september is the school in the UK resuming? Cheers |

fali: Hi my people. Please i need your urgent response to my questions. I applied for UK Student visa in 2007 and i was denied based on the following: 1)while you have evidence of funds, you have not provided evidence of their origin. 2)I note that you were last in full-time education in 2000. You have not demonstrated that you have sought to enhance your education during the intervening period.
I want to submit my application next week with another passport with different date of birth because they made mistake with my date of birth on my former passport. Hope the above stated points will not affect my application. Although i started my MBA last year to finish in October 2010 and my first degree is in science field. Please can i justify my application this time around? So the visa you want to apply for now is it a student visa or a visiting visa? if it is a student visa, when is ypur programme in the UK supposed to commence? and what about ur MBA that you are almost completing. The bolded part in you write up, if you applied for a student visa and you were refused based on the fact that you had your funds but their origin where not known, it means that the embassy wanted to know what your source of funds was especially if you were unemployed at the time. well if you have justified the source of your funds now and meet all the necessary requirements then there should be no problem. SAMMYTOPE: pls dont confuse us now. Before you told us dat if we are over 18 we dont need any sponsor letter or document. now u said its compulsory. What sponsor letter or document are you referring to? if you are unemployed and you present a bank statement that is in your name with some millions of nairas in the account, don't you think it will only be reasonable for the embassy to want to know where you got such money from?? Because for all they know, you might have as well borrowed the money to use it in getting visa with the hope of returning it to the owner when your visa has been issued. If your funds are in either of your parents account and you bear the same name with them, then use their account, but if the money has been transfered to your account already then you need to show that such money was transferred from your parents account and is meant for your studies and the only way to prove that is by your parents issuing you a letter with regards to that. cheers |

Pls deal wit dem asap 4 me pls, If the funds are in your account but you have no means to prove that you can raise such funds, then your mother has to write a sponsor letter. Your mother doesn't need to show tax clearance and all that o, don't take documents that are not needed to VFS as it only complicates their work. Take a sponsor letter from your mom, your bank statement and your mom's bank statement cos her it will show on the statement that she moved the money from her account. And it will show on you own statement when the moved funds were deposited in your own account. Both statements must cover a period of at least 28 days by the day u submit your application. |

Real112: @ell77
I have alot of questions to ask you.
1. I applied to visit at the BHC in 2006 with the old passport which will expire march 2011, but i was refused because the invitation letter i used was not genuine. On my refusal note it says, the invitation letters i submitted has bin used ova 7 times by some other pple with different addresses and fone numbers to apply for visa and they called the number i gave but the person could not identify me and i told them i was in 300 level in the university here, that i just want to go for holidays and come back.
2, I applied to study in a senior college in Dublin (ireland) and i was admitted. i paid all required fees nd i arranged an accommodation as well. So i decided to apply for visa with the new E-passport even wen the old one is not expired yet and i went ahead and applied ,but still i was refused because i dint meet up with the requirements.
3, Now am applying to study in a university in U.K but i was told i will have to go through college since the credentials i have is only SSCE den i applied to the college. I paid half of my tuition fee as deposit and i got my CAS statement. What i now did was i went to the immigration office to cancel my old passport so BHC will know its no more valid and i now attached it to the new one . After paying deposit,i have the balance of my tution fees which is £2250+5400 maintenance(college is outside london) held up in my account for 28days. Before i applied i have ova 600k extra in the account.
4, I have applied for my Visa 2 days back and i got a text msg from the VFS that my applicatiosn has bin dispatched to BHC for processing , these are the documents i submitted:
a,my filled application form b,Printed copy of my CAS statement c, Neco Certificate ( Credentials written on my CAS statement) d, 6 months Bank statement and letter from the Bank e,Int' Passport and passport fotogragh.
I just want to know if my previous record with BHC will not affect my present application, Please i really want your opinion on this. Thank you As long as you have not lied again in your application and have met all the relevant requirements, there is no reason why your past records should be a problem. Hope you also indicated in your present application that you have been refused visa before? if not then it could arise as a problem cos they have all the records in their database even if you are no longer using the former passport. |

As U ANSWER ALL MY QUESTIONS ABOVE,I hav 2 say a BIG THANK U 2 YOU,& MAY GOD CONTINUE 2 B your HELP,just as u'v AIDED SOOOO MANY of us, AMEN! When submitting documents, is better to staple them neatly, to prevent them from coming loose and falling off in the process of trying to process them, so staple you application forms together, staple you transcripts together as well and any loose documents that have more than one page like bank statements and all. But staple them individually if you know what I mean like bank statements, transcripts, application form and all. Well if you mom is employed in a personal business then she can write the sponsor letter on a letter head but if it is in a public company or coorporation, she can't use the letter head of the company to write the letter since is not her company, or alternatively, she use the address that tallies with her account address on the letter head ie her address that she used in opening her account. You have to make photocopies of every document you are taking to the visa processing centre. |
