Joshmodest:Freeze selected than reading it as a whole. Verse 21 was a general address to the Ephesians (Read from verse 1 to understand the message) this was why he ended it with 'in the fear of God' From verse 22, he then focused on husband and wife. |
Igbochief001:Says the word of God I am not forcing you or imposing anything on you. Just read the book of Ephesians 5 and you will understand better. Start from the beginning. |
Igbochief001:Now, let me explain for clarity. This is why I said it should be read verse by verse and not in isolation. Ephesians 5:1-21 was a general instruction to the church in Ephesians and this was why it ended with 'in the fear of God' Paul then went further by by adding the home in explaining the place of submission and sacrificial love by wife and husband respectively. This is not for arguments but just take your time to read the whole of Ephesians 5 and ask yourself if from the beginning he was addressing just the home. Verse by verse reading of the scriptures help in understanding the Author's intended meaning alone |
Igbochief001:Did you see that 21 didn't say submit yourself one to another? Rather, it says submit yourself one to another in the fear of God? You will understand that the point is in the fear of God and then, went further to give instructions to the husband and wife. |
bkool7:The Bible's message Verse 21 says they are to submit themselves one to another in the fear of God. In the fear of God is to be noted. It then went further to explain better. Submission was used to explain what is expected of a wife to her husband while being subject to him (in every sense) as the Church is subject unto Christ. When explaining the husband's role, it says the husband should love his wife as Christ loved the Church and gave Himself for it. When reading the Bible it is advisable to take it verse by verse to understand the Author's intended meaning alone. Submission by the wife in every sense and Sacrificial Love by the husband. |
Igbochief001:I am not a respecter of any man of God whether he is Adeboye or Oyedepo. I believe in searching the scriptures to understand better what God is saying. I am like the Berean Christian who still goes back to know if the word spoken was true. Back to you dwelling on verse 21, I will like to give an example for better clarity. This is in the form of instruction. Tunde and Wale go and break that fence. I then said further, Tunde you should use sledge hammer to break the fence blocks. Wale you are to pickup the broken blocks and dispose them. If you dwelled on my first sentence, you would have gotten my message wrongly till you read other statements from me. That is the case with what Paul said too. You should not stop at 21 but read it further to understand his view on this. The instruction was progressive and didn't stop at 21. |
bkool7:No get the message clearly. You will understand this better when you also read Ephesians 5:21-26. You will understand clearly. |
Joshmodest:It is because you read it while looking at it from the slavery point of view and this is why you didn't get the point Paul made. When Paul talked about husband loving his wife as Christ love his church and gave his life to it. He talks about Sacrificial love of the husband to his wife. One that does not think of his own gain but that of his wife. One that will not consider self first before his wife. Was Paul talking about husband being a slaughter goat? Submission on the other side by the wife to her husband is not that of a slave to her master but a submission in love in every sense as the Bible puts it. Please, tell me if with these two ways from husband to wife and wife to husband in bad for a home to be built upon. Freeze can be selective just to gain audience without looking at the Bible holistically. Bible is to be read verse by verse to understand the Author's intended meaning alone. |
Igbochief001:He was selective and gave his own meaning whereas the Author's intended meaning is of utmost importance. If he had read Ephesians 5 from verse 21 downwards verse by verse, he would have understood the Author's intended meaning. Wife is to submit to her husband by being subject to him in every sense just as the Church is subject unto Christ. Husband is to love his wife sacrificially just as Christ love the church and gave his life for it. The Author's intended meaning alone stands and not our personal view or what we impose on the Bible |
Emempaul:Do not just select verses. Read it verse by verse to understand only the Author's intended meaning. Verse 21 says they are to submit themselves one to another in the fear of God. |
Deborah98:You are very correct. Just the way he defended his position with Hushpuppi by relating it with Jesus dining with sinners as if when Jesus dined with sinners, he released careless and insulting talks all in the name of associating with sinners. He is just one self conceited man who is being used to create issues in Christendom. |
MyVILLAGEpeople:That is a false story of Apostle Joseph Babalola's wife. It was a lie carried on for years till the truth came out. The woman in question remained a fervent women in the Lord till she died with no history of issues. |
Khanben:It is a shame you have no Biblical backing but just coming up with stories and explanations that hold no water. That is why anybody could question our beliefs because we most times teach others outside the Bible. So, you don't carry this error everywhere, I never in anyway spoke evil of the man. I focused on the message and not the man. I only told you what he said was an error. Know this, ANYBODY is prone to error as man is FALLIBLE. Until you get that right then you will understand the place of personal relationship with God. Virginity can not stop you from keeping malice or slandering or backbiting or unholy practices. Christ said Pure in Heart shall see God. Nothing else. Psalm 24 also echoed this. Do I listen to you and this priest? NO. What Christ says only applies to my life and not whatever you feel or teach. My life is to be guided alone by God's word. Habit will never facilitate your relationship with God. Don't teach any other view outside the Gospel. 1 Corinthians 2:4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 1 Corinthians 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. The above verse was what made me reply your comment for the last time. Do you know it is an error to make others build their faith on the wisdom of men? It cannot stand the test of time. Shalom. May we all attain the full measure of Christ and be the bride Christ is expecting. In the spiritual aspect of virginity think about the 10 virgins and ask yourself why 5 were called foolish virgins. |
Lai Mohammed as usual came up with his usual style of avoiding the truth just to pass his own message. He didn't compare pricing with major oil producing Nations in Africa. He gave us just selective prices. Lai Mohammed should give us that of Angola, Algeria, Lybia etc. Why compare Nigeria with African countries that do not produce oil capacity like Nigeria? Also, Nigerian crude oil is highly sought after because of its quality and Nigeria is the highest oil producing Nation in Africa. So, our oil is in high demand and yet we suffer for this. He mentioned Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Can he tell us if the development in these countries can be seen in Nigeria despite huge sales from crude oil? |
Khanben:I will stop this back and forth with you as I can see that you have just chosen to be one sided in your thoughts and all you quote from the Bible has nothing to support his wrong view on virginity. When it comes to TRUTH, it is COMPLETE in every sense, when tested, questioned and examined, it does not change from the TRUTH. The word of God is that TRUTH and not your opinion or view. Your problem is that you believe so much in him than going through your Bible to study. Pure in heart does not translate to being pure or the virginity he brought to it. Bible says Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God. Maybe you should also read Psalm 24 to understand what Jesus meant. We use verses in the Bible to explain another and not giving it your own thoughts process. Bible alone speaks. Finally, when the Bible says study to show thyself approved it never meant that you impose your thoughts on His word. Rather His words are to work on you which will achieve a workman that is not ashamed as stated in 2 Timothy 2:15. However, see 2 Timothy 3:16-17 to better understand 2 Timothy 2:15 you quoted. It is teachings like his that brought in many doctrines causing issues because it was gotten from reasoning and not allowing the word alone to speak. I won't respond to any comment from you as you are bent on upholding error than what the Bible says. Virginity won't make you see God but what Jesus said Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God. Being pure in heart facilitates your relationship with God. N.B I do not in anyway belittle the importance of virginity as I once passed through that phase but my point remains that only the Bible should speak. You could be a virgin and still be far away from God because it is only the pure in heart that will see God which is what you can't personally do except by the help of the Holy spirit working in your heart. |
Khanben:Why are you defending a man above the Bible? Are you saying his words are right than what the Bible says? Do you also know that he quoted wrongly too? Or do you want to tell me he is right biblically by what he quoted? Being pure and being pure in heart, are they the same? You are the one who didn't weigh every possibilities which is why he is also wrong because I have also shown you the other side of a virgin too. Besides, why do you exalt man above God. Have you read the Bible where it was written about some set of people known as Bereans? Do you know why this was included? It is a lesson for us not to swallow everything said no matter the person who made such statement simply because man is fallible (and this does not exclude me). Back to the subject matter, do you know that the TRUTH when tested in every angle remains the TRUTH and does not change at all? But facts, falsehood or lies can be tested and will change. This is why I said he shared his view rather than stick to the Bible. You can never teach the Bible and still go wrong. So, please all I want to know now is this: 1. Are all virgins pure as he has painted it and by their virginity facilitates their relationship with God? 2. Does being pure in heart mean virginity? OR are all virgins pure in heart? 3. If virginity facilitates their relationship with God, what happens to the non-virgins? Are they far from God because of their status of not being 'pure' (as he puts it in his message)? Finally, dictates of the scripture carries just one meaning which is the Author's intended meaning. The Holyspirit is never the author of confusion by coming up with something else outside the scripture. |
Khanben:What due diligence do you want me to give to an error which anybody is prone to as a man? Tell me how about virgins who watch adult movies, engage in kissing, gossip, backbiting and several other sins but just didn't do the penetration? So, explain to me if PURE IN HEART as stated in the scripture is same as what he stated and if being a virgin means you are pure in heart. |
Khanben:It is you who failed to comprehend his teaching and have chosen to uphold man than God's word. Please, when you read the post again, watch the video and digest EVERYTHING and not just come back with male virginity then, maybe you will understand clearly. I still keep asking you the same question Point out where in my post I mentioned virginity is for ladies alone. What's your issue with male virginity. Please, don't come up with the nonsense facilitation explanation as if you are discussing with a kid. He spoke his view and it does not conform to the Bible simple. Where in the Bible does virginity facilitates relationship with God? Also, what happens with the non-virgin? Point out this from the Bible and please, don't come back with an explanation that holds no water all in the name of defending a man who is FALLIBLE. He even went further to say blessed are the pure, for they shall see God by quoting from Matthew 5 and concluded that your virginity facilitates your relationship with God. There, you are explaining nonsense when even what he quoted was rubbish. Should I point you to what the Bible actually says in Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the PURE IN HEART for they shall see God. So, please tell me if this is a matter virginity? Now, quote from the Bible where you are right and I am wrong. |
Khanben:Can you please stop this nonsense and go do something else? Did you see anywhere in my post where I referred to only ladies as being virgin? If you don't understand the reason for my comment, please find something else to do or comment separately without mentioning me. I don't understand the point you are trying to prove. Please, point to me where in the Bible it says that virginity facilitates your relationship with God and also tell me what then happens to the non-virgin, are they now far away from God and God won't have any relationship with them? Since you seems to know beyond the Bible and the priest words are more important than the position of the Bible? Next time, try understand my first comment and see who I mentioned first before bringing the matter of men being virgin to this discussion. |
Khanben:Can you first read the post and understand why I responded that way before forming unnecessary oversabi? If you don't have the time to even read the post at least the subject you clicked on says a lot about its content. So, please don't question me by derailing from the subject. |
Asour:I am in no way in support of others who spite the man of God. Every careless talk shall be accounted for before God. On the other hand, Face mask is both for yourself and for others. It is for yourself so you don't inhale tiny droplets of the virus and for others, so you don't pass it to others. It is a two way thing and not a one way thing you painted. |
Vikkoh:It means you will consume a bakery if care is not taken ![]() It's not okay joking about someone post especially when this person is seeing it as something serious. Rather than joke about it, don't comment at all. |
haiti007:Just tired of how men of God keep teaching based on their own view instead of giving Bible based teachings. Tell a lady to keep her virginity based on what the Bible says. Don't add any nonsense to it all in the name of passing a point. |
I read this post completely. It's a well detailed write up and research. Whoever wrote this knows in details the fire service job. I keep telling whoever wants to hear that the development of a country does not just lie in transportation alone. There are many things to be put in place in making a country developed and one of such is a swift response of the fire service department without any issues attached as it relates to necessary equipment and resources. |
Please what do the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC and the Nigeria Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Development want to validate? NAFDAC had to wait for US on simple Chloroquine before NAFDAC started releasing press statement on possible investigation. There is nothing to validate if internally, we couldn't carry-out necessary research on vaccine for COVID-19. Evidence of a not working government who believes transportation (road, rail, etc) is the only way Nigeria can be developed when there are diverse sector to be looked into. Nigeria is lacking in Education, Technology and many other areas. Development does not come from Transportation alone, rather, other sectors also need to be working too. Several research agencies but no results as achievement. |
How many times will this government remove subsidy? When it was increased the other time to N145, subsidy removal was the excuse. Now, they are still coming with the same story. At the end, this government will deceive us till it is even beyond N162 |
Reading through the comments of most ladies, I weep for many marriages. Now, I understand why many marriages don't last. It's really sad how we got to this stage. |
APC, the party of scammers. |
solmusdesigns:Hmmm..... Just the way they handled Sowore as an educated and professional body. |
CallMeDrino:Did he defraud you or was there any claim of him defrauding anyone? Why type this all in the name of you not being okay with whatever comes from him? |
Magicians:Well, there is something called media power too. What you keep seeing everyday registers in the mind compared to someone you saw just once or twice at most. I.T is taking over than the analogue style of doing things. |
Lai Mohammed thinks his usual style of giving Nigerians lies will work in Ghana. He didn't know that Ghana is so organised and do not bow to lies and media war. Sick government. Ghanaian government clearly shows how a working government could be so detailed. |
