kikero: What's the confusion
So long as government controls or sets the price of fuel there is a subsidy in existence.
For subsidy to be no longer on existence, it would be the marketers and fuel depot owners that would be setting the price instead of NNPC

When the President is on seat, the Vice President has no say or power to go through what the President signs into law unless the President assigns his Vice to go through. PrincessC11: Please I have a question: Please what's the advantages or importance of a religious body registering under the government?
Quote author=TonyeBarcanista post=93100486]Those against CAMA Amendment are either ill-informed or mischievous.
In sane societies like USA, South Africa, UK, Europe, Australia etc, there are agencies that regulate religious organisations, CSOs and NGOs. Why should Nigeria's be different?
Some people said it is a fight against the church, and I ask, which Church?
If the Bible is right, the Church is the congregation of believers. It is not a building or religious organisation. And believers don't need any formal nomenclature or organisation to worship. The Bible says where two or three are gathered, CHRIST is present. The Bible never said people should establish organisations, neither did the early Christians establish organisations.
Now let's look this....
A man wakes up on a faithful morning, he approaches CAC (Government) to register his organisation, which he names XYZ Church
He lists himself, his wife, Kids or associates as Trustees
He gets certificate from the government to operate...
Yet, he argues with the government that they have no right to regulate the activities of the same organisation that he went to government to register.
He shouts persecution, war against the church and God.
Meanwhile, he is the final authority and CEO in the religious organisation, and won't hesitate to show the exit door to anyone that questions his authority.
The irony is that he abides to similar laws abroad...
As much as I'm not a fan of this administration, I support this CAMA... Although Nigeria politicians are useless
FACT:
FG or any other government cannot regulate the "Church" (congregation of believers). Even the Roman government couldn't regulate the Church.
However, government can only regulate religious organisations (formal organizations) that are registered with the government in line with the constitutional mandate.
The rule is simple, don't register your organisation with government if you don't want to be regulated... Same way you don't register your business and NGO with government if you don't want their regulation... Please, don't twist the Bible for your personal gain. Bible is to be handled with care. What happened to the church in Corinth? Why did Paul write to Timothy? Have you read the part of the synagogue called Solomon's temple? What happened to the gathering of over 3000 souls won and kept on fellowshiping? Were all these experience an individual thing? There is the place of collective gathering and this is Biblical. However, excesses need to be checked with respect to focusing on the building than building the individuals. You mentioned UK, USA, South Africa and the likes. Please, tell me if the Nigerian government and their way of operation is anywhere near any of these countries. Tell me if there was anytime you could trust this government. They keep deceiving us daily and can never do things like these other country. If they don't bring in politics to it, they bring in religion or tribe. Not even in a time where there are allegations of interference in Boko Haram insurgency. |

When a man comes to meet you for business transactions and he introduces himself as Pastor...... Beware of such, you could be scammed.
The same way I find it funny when this man is being presented as a Pastor in all campaigns for the coming election. Being a Pastor is a calling and not a title you carry about. If he is using the calling as a title to gain supporters then it is unfortunate. Also, he is denting the call even with several videos circulating of his wrongs and also court case.
When Paul introduces himself in all his letters, you will never see Apostle Paul but Paul, called to be an Apostle of Christ. It is a calling not a title.
The church will someday be the bride Christ is waiting to take home. |

The man in question has issues he is yet to addressed. Insecurity in his state with serious protest and all this jigawa branch could come up with is the tribe game and calling him to defend himself. Defend what? Defend how protesters issues were not addressed or how they are clueless with Jigawa branch knowing better than indigenes?
This country can never progress this way and it is even shameful that it is coming from the legal profession this time around.

Christianity Etc › Re: Pastor Funke Adejumo: A Man Can Get Sex From Any Idiot (videos) by Nauttyprof(m): 6:27pm On Aug 19, 2020 |
Shizzyguy: Well I think you got her message all wrong and mixed up. By saying a man can get sex outside or from a prostitute does not mean she is encouraging or endorsing adultery, it simply means there is something more important to a man than sex and food which is her main point of emphasis. There is the place of experience which is what the older women have to offer. Try talk to older women, if you know any that had problems in their marriage and ask them what they feel went wrong or what they feel they could have done differently and hear what they have to say. We can avoid similar situations by learning from the experiences of others and that's a key lesson from that passage. Please note that she would have counselled a lot of people in her many years of being a Pastor.
Another reference for you. To the rest I say this (I, not the Lord): If a brother has an unbelieving wife and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her. 1 Corinthians 7:12. You can also check verse 25. Paul gave instructions concerning matters even though he clearly stated he did not receive anything from the Lord. Does that make those instructions invalid? Or can we call them "thought or cooked up" instructions by Paul? Okay but Paul you talked about in the verse you quoted never said anything contrary to the Gospel. If you also read the verse you quoted, he spoke as one who also obtained mercy by his own status of faithfulness and not speaking because he has followers. Words carry power and because you are in the position to speak does not give you the right and authority to dump anything on the listeners all must be checked in God's word alone. Where again did the Bible say sex isn't needed by a man as he can get it anywhere even a prostitute. 1 Corinthians 7:1-9 tells you the power of sex in a marriage and now someone is coming with something different. Please, she speaks more of what she had cooked up than the Bible. We need to start teaching or listening to Bible based teaching alone. N.B: I move with older men than my age and I know how much they value their sex lives especially with their wives. |

Shizzyguy: 3In the same way, teach older women to be ·holy [reverent] in their behavior, not ·speaking against [slandering; gossiping about] others or enslaved to ·too much wine [excessive drinking], but teaching what is good. 4 Then they can ·teach [train] the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 to be ·wise [sensible; self-controlled] and pure, to be ·good workers at home [devoted to home life], to be kind, and to ·yield [submit] to their husbands. Then no one will be able to ·criticize [discredit; malign; blaspheme] the ·teaching God gave us [word of God]. Titus 2:3-5
Based on the referenced passage above, she is doing exactly what the Bible told her to do, teach the younger women how to relate to their husbands. Secondly, I think she is qualified to speak on the matter because she is a teacher of the word and an older woman. No, she is doing what she wants her audience to hear. Bible based teaching is what this Bible verses talk about or address and not share your own view all in the name of trying to trend. Tell me what part of this talks about men being able to get sex else where even from prostitute. We have derailed from letting people know what the Bible truly says and we begin to give what we have thought or cooked up ourselves. The Bible itself addresses all issues and can build up any individual. The Bible remains the focus, not what we think or know. |

Jones4190: The Bible speaks decisively to this issue. Romans 13:1-2 says: "Obey the government, for God is the One who has put it there. There is no government anywhere that God has not placed in power. So those who refuse to obey the law of the land are refusing to obey God, and punishment will follow."
oyedepo is not man of God... he is serving gods of money
infact verse 3 and 4 of thesame Romans 13 said For rulers are not to be feared by those who do good, but by those who do evil. Would you like to be unafraid of those in authority? Then do what is good, and they will praise you, because they are God's servants working for your own good. But if you do evil, then be afraid of them, because their power to punish is real. They are God's servants and carry out God's punishment on those who do evil. Romans 13:3-4 GNB
where is oyedepo concerned ?? Please, don't quote Bible out of context. The Author's intended meaning is the only meaning that stands. Please, stay away from using the Bible for selfish reason. Hmmm...... Just be careful. |
