PoliticsRe: Governor Oyetola Suspends Curfew In Osun State by Nchabuomo: 9:02am On Oct 23, 2020
Honbright:
The Government of Osun State notes the high level of compliance with the 24-hour curfew earlier declared to forestall breakdown of law and order.

We commend the residents and citizens of Osun for their show of understanding and cooperation in the last 48 hours of the curfew.

We equally commend our youths for displaying high sense of maturity in carrying out their protest.

After reviewing the situation of the last 48 hours and following the inauguration of the State’s Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Police Brutality, the Governor, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola, hereby suspends the 24-hour curfew, effective from today, Friday, October 23, 2020 till further notice.

The suspension is to allow members of the public approach the Panel to make their submissions and to go about their lawful businesses.

However, Government will not hesitate to reinstate the curfew should the need arise.

Government remains committed to the cause of our youths and the #EndSARS protesters and shall take every necessary step to ensure that their demands are met.

Considering Government’s commitment and determination to meet the demands of the protesters, we appeal to the protesting youths to suspend their protest and engage Government in a dialogue.

All citizens and residents are enjoined to be peaceful and to be law abiding as all efforts shall be made to protect them and their property.

May God continue to bless and keep the State of Osun.

Signed:
Prince Wole Oyebamiji
SSG, State of Osun.

I did my biometrics on the 8th and haven’t gotten my passport back. Does this mean they won’t dispatch any passports? That’s is if this curfew gets lifted
The announcement said it will be closed for the rest of the week at least.

I don't know what it means for passport collection

1. Can you please attach the whole rejection mail so that we can get a clear understanding of the issue.

2. How many months bank statement did you attach?

3. From personal experience I don't think the time lag is an issue, as long as it's not older than 30 days.

My result came out negative this morning and am traveling this evening. I have been trying to fill the form in the nitp site and not able to submit. It’s telling to try again later that the firm cannot be processed at this time. I hope the airline will accept only the negative test without the QR code. I will keep trying sha till departure
Yes, they will. If you still can't fill it until departure, you will be required to do so on arrival. Safe travels!

Good evening guys, thanks for all the contributions, I enjoyed the Giffgaff network thing. Am done with what I came to Uk to do and it’s time to go back. Please am asking If anyone recently travel back to niger concerning covid test both here and paying online for another to be done on arival. I need to know what is obtainable from here. I will be traveling with Kenya airways (they did not require covid test though from Nigeria) I don’t know if they will require it for going back, any idea please
It's not really the airline that makes the rule, it's the Country you are flying into.

Nigeria requires a COVID test from all arrivals. Taken at least 72hrs before departure (Some documents say 120). NO airline will ideally fly you into Nigeria without one right now.

You also have to fill a pre arrival form and pay for a COVID-19 test with a lab in Nigeria, to be taken 7 days after your arrival. I paid $105 but the price varies based on the State (Abj or Lag).

You can also get the QR code and pay on arrival.

Yeah but they require in order to use a train, I have to book with a debit/credit card and then show the card and booking reference for collection of ticket. My problem now is, I don't have card and even if i told someone to book for me, how would I show them the card?
If the person indicates it's a third party booking, you wouldn't be required to show the card. Like how BA requires people to show their cards for flights originating from Nigeria safe for third party booking

I'm traveling to Glasgow on Sunday, but it isn't a straight flight. I'll have to stop at London Heathrow before proceeding to Glasgow. Can anyone help me on how I can make this journey to Glasgow?
You can pick a flight to Glasgow from Heathrow or take a bus from Victoria Coach Station to Buchanan Bus Station or take a train from London Euston to Glasgow Central. Bus is the cheapest while a train ride is the most expensive.

Hello All,
I am an experienced software engineer working in Dubai. I have decided to migrate to UK and want to do it via Msc route. I want to do Msc software engineering at a top university in UK and I saw one from oxford university that I am really interested in. But the program is part time for about 2 years. My questions are
1) Is it possible/likely to get student visa for part-time Msc program?
2) If yes, Must I finish the part-time program before I can convert my Tier4 visa to Tier 2 visa even If i get a job during the program?

Thanks
1. The much am aware, you wouldn't be given a student visa for a part-time MSC program.

2. As a student you will be on Tier 4 and would not be allowed to work more than 20hrs per week during term time. So if you are studying full time Tier 4. If you are working full time Tier 2.

Good day everyone,

Please, would someone be kind enough to help check this budget out for someone who earns 220k and 40k monthly expenses = 180 disposable income for a 7days trip.

Ticket £460
Hotel £150
Meal £210
Miscellaneous £100

Also will be travelling with a child, is the budget ok? Will I include hes budget in mine as well?
@Iyatrustee @Irenenwaka @Nchabuomo @TheExalted
Yes, you will need to include their budget.

The budget breakdown is just for your personal calculations, I assume, as no where on the form is it stated that you should give a cost breakdown.

Your total sum i.e £920 is decent for a 7 day trip once you have funds in your account to cover your expenses.

Thanks for the update, but Birmingham is not a tourist attraction. His your friend in UK to write exam or something? We still need a Tourist POE transcript for people to know what's going on at the airport. Thanks
What do you mean by Birmingham is not a tourist attractionhuh For the sake of agreement let's say Birmingham is not a tourist attraction (whatever that means), Birmingham is still a commute away from London so can be used as a base (accommodation etc). That's on the assumption that you consider London a 'tourist attraction'.

Somebody show help please
I feel your initial breakdown is fine i.e the 1k plus. If you are travelling with your 2 kids £800 + might be an unrealistic sum unless someone is contributing to your trip.

Your salary of 400k + is quite decent. I assume you also have savings to show.

Goodluck

P.S You don't need to attach a detailed breakdown of your budget to your visa application. Personally, I wouldn't advise that as if they wanted a breakdown they would have asked you to provide one.

Please explain, what category does the UK Govt Home Test Kit fall into? That's what I plan to use.
There's not really a category. When you took the test did they put a swab down your nose? If yes, then it's a PCR test.

Additionally, if you have not taken the test tell them that you want a PCR test, not that you need to though as most people are given PCR tests unless you request for rapid response test.

Hello Folks,
Is there anyone who used the free NHS test result to fly BA or any other airline to Nigeria recently? I hope it's acceptable in Nigeria.
If it's a PCR test it is accepted.

Whether the test is free or not doesn't concern Nigeria.

Rapid response tests aren't accepted due to its margin of error

Thank you for this very swift response....
I'm still wondering if there will be a way for us to join this application together because I'm the sponsor and few other things still interwoven...We're going for honeymoon....
Just wondering.
Add this as additonal information. i.e though not yet married that you guys will be married by the time of the trip and that the trip is your honeymoon. Attach your wedding card if any. Also add the few other interwoven things there with proof. Book as family appointment or at least book on the same time

Hello Everyone.
I'm applying for a visiting visa together with my fiancée and I was expecting to see a column where I would add her name and details,But I can't find that...
I'm at the section where I will pay the Visa fee,Now I want to be sure I'm not making any mistake before I pay...
Or Am I to create a separate Application for her?
I'm aware we will pay visa fee for 2...I just don't know maybe It will be consolidated application or we use 2 different application.
Thank you in Advance.
There is a question that should ask if you are travelling alone.

Somethings needs to be cleared! Anyone with a Verifiable answer should help!

When filling your visiting visa application,No need to include your quarantine days to the days you intend to spend? (I think the answer to this is No,no need correct?)

When traveling to the UK with a visiting visa,do you book your ticket counting the 14 days + stay days?

If you book less than 14 days ticket and plan to spend the whole 6-7 days in an hotel and fill the locator form, will you have an issue at the port of entry? According to GOVUK website,it said you’re allowed to spend less than 14 days as long as your quarantine for the whole days!

Would prefer answers from people with recent experience on these things!
1. You don't need to add 14 quarantine days
2. Although these things are case specific but it would look really stupid for a tourist to say that they flew to the UK only to quarantine for the WHOLE duration of their stay. It's even more ludicrous to think an EO would believe that someone who's main purpose of visiting the UK is tourism (not visiting a dying family member, birth of a child etc) will quarantine for the duration of their stay.

Unless you can convince the person beyond reasonable doubt it's advisable to make necessary adjustments.
