Onlytruth:You and all members of MASSOB, Movement for the Actualization of the Soveriegn State of Biafra, belong in jail for treasonous offences. By the very name of your organization, you declare that your cause is indeed treasonous. You want to take control of Ikemba's burial and use the ocasion for political purposes, yet you expect the rest of us patriotic Nigerians to allow you to do it without any reaction? You and your lot are the most self destructive and political novices that I've ever encountered. I'm glad the Army has picked up Ikemba's body now - that will prevent any barbarian rituals that you are planning. Ikemba should be buried where fallen decorated Generals are buried - let's hope they pick a location in Zungeru. I'm not sure any such burial facilities are located in Nnewi. |
Onlytruth: Bros, I tell you, if Nigeria is coming apart, nothing on earth can stop it.Eze Onlytruth, nwanne m, you are a bloody liar and shameless conspiracy theorist. To posit that oil in Anambra is tapped from the ocean clearly shows a level of ignorance which is characteristic of dunces and intellectual midgets. One Ozodi Osuji, Ph. D, foolishly claimed that “there is something in the psychological makeup of Igbos that makes them always go looking for trouble”, and you, olodo, are giving credence to Osuji’s claims. You should be celebrating the achievements of Orient Petroleum Resources, PLC for bringing a refinery to Anambra. If I were you, I wouldn’t celebrate any inland oil exploration in Anambra until I know how costs associated with the risk of explosion and leakage of oil, and cost of protecting against such disasters, are being provided for. Trust me, these accidents and disasters are bound to happen. Onlytruth, to debunk your false claim, I present the fact sheet below : ● Jun., 2002: OPR awarded License to Establish 55,000 b/d Refinery ● Sep., 2003: DPR, MPR reviewed & approved OPR Refinery Basic Design ● Feb., 2004: OPR awarded 1st ever Approval to Construct Oil Refinery in Nigeria ● Feb., 2005: FEED contract to SS&W, USA & EIA due process completed ● Feb., 2005: FGN awarded 2 License blocks (OPLs 915/916) to OPR ● Apr., 2006: Site preparation by JBN & other geotechnical consultants ● 20th Apr., 2006: President Obasanjo laid foundation stone of refinery ● Dec., 2006: BPDI, China selected & awarded $550m EPC contract ● Dec., 2006: China Eximbank issued LOI for 85% funding ● Jan., 2007: UBA accepted to serve as repayment guarantor ● Feb., 2007: Team of BPDI visited site & completed layout design ● Mar., 2007: Min of Energy issued comfort letter to China Eximbank ● Nov., 2007: Basic Design Review completed in Beijing, China ● Dec., 2007: Topographic Surveys and water wells completed. ● Dec., 2007: Geotechnical & Hydrogeological investigations completed ● Jun., 2008: Ministry of Energy, issued ATC validity assurance letter ● Jun., 2008: Min. of State (Petroleum) issued feedstock supply assurance letter ● Jul., 2008: Civil & Foundation works ongoing by RCC Nig. Lets hope the owners of this crude oil exploration facilitiy have verifiable plans to clean up any resulting air/water pollution which may arise from their operations. Oilfiled blowouts are bound to happen, and we can also count on rig accidents or barge accidents. They must not destroy the environment in the East like Shell and others have done with impunity in the ND region. I congratulate Orient Petroleum Resources Plc. Does anyone have the list of the companies owners/directors? This should be public knowledge. |
Witch hunt ko, fresh virgin hunt ni. Fani Kayode has every right to express his opinions on national issues, at the same time, he has every right to defend himself in court. Being opinionated should not absolve Fani Kayode from prosecution. If he stole, he should pay the price and if he didn't he'll be set free. |
Apparently, Mr. Laden had a good taste, for Whitney (RIP) was very beautiful. I'd caution other men who think they can stroke black womens' hair 'peacefully', if the hair is straight as opposed to having braids, that they may be very disappointed. Most Black women especially the ones from West Africa, Southern Africa, and the USA do not have natural straight hair. They use weaves and attachments to make the hair look like those of the caucasians. These weaves and attachments make stroking the hair feel worse than doing the same to braided hair because they have all kinds of craps (or kokos) buried at the roots of their hair ![]() @Beaf, Have you ever stroked the hair of a woman with very long straight hair and be surprised by, crap at the root of the hair? I suppose they had to glue fake hair to the naturally beautiful hair so that they can look like the Caucasians. Oh boy, the first time I tried it, I was like, WTF. Weaves and attachments suck, give me natural beauty jare. |
@Dudu_Negro, I appreciate your last post which was designed to inform those who are ignorant. May I also add the following: The National Population Commission is established by S. 153 of the 1999 Constitution. The Third Schedule, Part 1 in J S:23 sets out the composition of the Commission as follows:- S.23. The National Population Commission shall comprise the following members: 1.A Chairman and 2.One person from each State of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja . We did not hear of any objections to the result of the 2006 census by any commisioner, the adoption of the numbers was unanimous. |
hehehehe We shouldn't be a bit surprised. GEJ wants to keep his job and he knows that as soon as NASS believes that he is serious about convening SNC, they will definitely impeach the President. No one relinquishes power voluntarily. |
Sooner or later (my guess is later - 50yrs from now) Nigerians will realize that wishes alone are not enough to break this country into various nations, or convene a "sovereign" national conference. A sovereign national conference organized and controlled by the current crop of corrupt leaders will produce worse conditions that we currently have anyway. Secondly the so-called owners of Nigeria are willing and able to crush Nigerians who want to demand change - think Army and Tanks in Lagos only a few weeks ago. You people have to find a way to get the owners out of the way first. Our best bet is to try to develop some sense of nationalism and work with patriotism to make this democracy work. Nigerians do not seem to have the will to revolts massively, while sacrificing their lives, in order to bring about the necessary changes. The owners of Nigeria will continue to use your love for tribalism and bigotry to keep you all in bondage. As long as you continue to idol worship these leaders with Ranka dedes instead of stoning, I'm afraid they will keep you in bondage for 50 more years. Truth is bitter. |
Sanusi's case is an entirely different case of tribalism, bigotry and nationalising the islamic agenda while this is another different case of the gross corruption in GEJ's administration we already know. This nation has always been a jungle where different things happen concurrently. You cant expect us not to discuss kindnapping with boko haram at the same time. They all affect us. We must criticize sanusi!
I wonder why you didn't find it compelling to express your outrage, in a vigorous manner, at the corruption in question, but found it necessary to explain why Sanusi should be criticized. I think you just buttressed my point, pally. |
Hisb. . .wetin? God forbid bad thing! I'd retain NPF before I vote for hisbah to enforce law on Yoruba soil. ahh, hisbah in Yorubaland. . . .thats the end of owanbe!
Fashola, Fayemi, and other SW governors are already talking about SW integration. Note that there are more Muslims in the SW than any other religion and these Muslims prefer Shariah as a way of life, as opposed to the extremism which is typically associated with Shariah. You may very well end up with a SW with Shariah and Hisbah police unless you people are only paying lip service to democracy. I dey laugh o. |
Talk about misplaced anger fueled by tribalism, bigotry, ignorance or outright foolishness - Nigerians criticize Sanusi and CBN for N100 million grant provided for disaster relief in Kano, while their leaders are busy robbing them blind. SMH The Senate Committee on Appropriation has announced that some ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) of government secretly smuggled over N1 trillion on projects into the N4.7 trillion budget for 2012, and may have shot up the budget to N5.7 trillion. |
At a minimum, I want state police. I don't see why Kano is allowed to have Hisbah police to enforce the law and southern states should be denied this.
hehehe, methinks you will have Hisbah police in Oyo, Lagos, or Ekiti, before state police. There are more Muslims who believe in the Sharīʿah way of life in the mentioned states than those who believe in State Police. |
naijaking1:. Stop pretending to be uninformed - we know better. Sanusi is not sharing anyone's money, he simply awarded a few million naira in grants from CBN's multi million naira community programs budget. We are thankful that Sanusi did not divert the said funds to his own pocket, unlike certain people we know. |
Anyway, if its true that CBN has laws that allow it disburse funds as it deems fit then we are in a bigger mess than I thought. It means every aspect of our government is a sink hole.
I'm sorry to say that the bolded is most accurate. I did not know that you are a naive idealist. I am not defending Sanusi's actions but simply highlighting the flaws in the system. The sink hole you speak of is present in every parastatal at both the federal and state levels. Local governments are not without the sink holes either. There is a sink hole in every government department, at all levels, which has a budget. Trust me on that - its a feeding frenzy. If you knew the extent of the rot, you'd realize that Sanusi's actions should be commended - he is not routing funds into his personal accounts. I'm sorry to say that the anger shown in this thread is misdirected. |
@Sam_Ikenna, Do not allow your prejudice to negatively affect your objectivity here. There is nothing unprecedented about providing a grant to Kano State to assist victims of this terrible terrorist act. Here are some other grants provided by CBN for your information. You may want to petition NASS to revisit the CBN act, if you are troubled by the discretion possessed by the board which approves these grants. Sanusi does not have dictatorial authority at the CBN.
If CBN gov can give out money at will what stops him from giving our money to Niger, Chad, Kenya, Congo etc. This is a very ugly trend because now CBN office has become another sink hole for all of us.
In case you missed it, see my post in another thread below because it may help put things in perspectives. BTW, we are stuck with Sanusi for a few years because he cannot be removed from office until his term expires. Sadly, the CBN has billions of dollars in its "legal" budget which it uses to fund various activities and making donations such the one to Boko Haram victims. |
Mikeansy: If Sanusi does not get sacked or removed somehow from office within the next two weeks then it simply means we have no Government.hehehe. Ndo o, pele. I'm surprised its going to take an event like this before you see what is glaringly clear i.e. we have an incompetent and visionless occupant of Aso Rock. Do you really believe that a man who cannot sack BH members in his government will have the guts to sack Sanusi who's term in office is determined constitutionally? |
naijaking1:This is a silly statement. Illegal personal mining should be banned? It is already banned, buddy and that is why it is called illegal mining. By the way, the illegal mining is not the major cause of the deaths we are seeing. Refining gold ore which resulted into contaminated waters are the main culprits. Zamfara State had employed a Chinese company to mine gold in the area and that company must be held accountable. Their attempt at shifting the blame to so-called illegal mining is preposterous and fellow Nigerians who are enabling these company by supporting the false claim that illegal mining is causing the led poisoning should be ashamed of yourselves. The deaths were discovered during the country's annual immunisation programme, when officials realised there were virtually no children in several remote villages in the northern state. There were no illegal mining taking place in those villages, the only explanation for the lead poison was contaminated water caused by the so-called legal mining! We must hold the Chinese companies responsible. We know what happened to the environment in the oil producing states when we did not hold Shell and others responsible. Locals became sick after lead removed during the process of refining gold ore contaminated local water systems. The villagers do not know how to refine gold ore or capable of any kind of refining gold. |
Stop the rumour mongering. Sources close to Action Congress of Nigeria leader, Bola Tinubu, have denied media reports that the former governor of Lagos State had a partial stroke and was flown abroad for treatment of same. |
_Ntns, Why did you allow this thing to get out of hand. I challenge you to show your typical wisdom and return after the ban. You are actually one of my favorite NLers but you decided to take issues too personally, please don't spoil some of the fun I have here o. I watched how you and people like Ekt_bear allowed themselves to be transformed into what other posters would see as bigots. Katsumoto is one of the most ardent Yoruba defenders on this form but he does it without exhibiting any bigotry or extremism. Granted, I've had to put him in his place once or twice. Your NL enemies would have won if you allow them to run you off. Be wise buddy. @Beef, yaya aiki, Rakumin Dajij. |
Onlytruth:Regarding the bolded, at least there is a type of Nigeria you believe in, unlike unrepentant Biafrans like Dede1 who continues to call Nigeria a cesspit. I knew your Eze title and pretence love for Ikemba were worthless. Here you are, proudly sending the great Ikemba off, in USA. Is it the cost of transportation that will prevent you from coming home and joining us in giving Ikemba the proper burial? Shame on you, what kind of Eze Igbo is this? |
one must wonder how you will describe the treatment of your people in the hands of the Northerner who kill, slaughter, maim, evict, ban and even hunt you on your own soil.
Negro_Ntns, who are you referring to above, Igbos, Hausas, Idoma, Ekiti people or who? The Northerners who have been committing terrorist acts, a.k.a Boko Haram form a minute minority of the people who live in the region. I hope you know that more Northerners have been killed by these terrorist thugs than any other group of people. |
Kobojunkie:The governors are the ones misusing state funds. Sadly, the CBN has billions of dollars in its "legal" budget which it uses to fund various activities and making donations such the one to Boko Haram victims. These activities are classified as community programs of the CBN and categorized into four streams – University Aid, Govt & Professionals, Sports, and Other Aids. Believe it or not, some of the programs include Lawn Tennis, CBN Governor’s Golf Cup, All Financial Institutions Football Competition, Library Services, Aid to Boko Haram victims e.t.c. ![]() Please read this published information about CBN with special attention to the community programs section. This story is quite believable. Our people talk say: eni ale mu ni an le'di mo; the real culprits are the untouchables in and out of government. Excerp |
Onlytruth:Eze, when are you going to decide to give up your ways which are nothing short of being cretinism? I'll tell you what is idiotic, olodo: being born in a place, such as Kano, growing up there and not being familiar with the East where one or more of your parents hail from, and then finding yourself having to return to the East, a homeland which is essentially foreign to you, is more than idiotic. This is the system which must change in Nigeria if we are to join civilized nations. It is the same kind of idiotic policy or tradition which I am challenging indirectly in this thread. Unfortunately, your dumb behind is too unsophisticated to understand. You allow tribalism and bigotry to prevent you from seeing the big picture. Pray tell, has GEJ announced the setting aside of any particular public holiday in honour of Ikemba? Have you petitioned any of your Reps or Senators, if you know who they are, to submit a bill in this regard? Biko mechionu gi. The only thing right about your post is the bolded above. BTW, I'll bet my last Naira that you will not be with us in the country for Ikemba's burial. Olodo, Eze ko, Ezekiel ni. |
PhysicsQED:None of the dogon turenchi above nullifies the fact that the offshore oil belongs to ALL Nigerians. The stated fact remains until Nigeria no longer exists as we know it. I wouldn't hold my breath while waiting for the coastal areas to be carved out of Nigeria and constituted as a new country(ies), if I were you. |
