RamseyKush:Na donation, 500m for this one and the second one them wan lay foundation, another 500m. To build might not be the only cost, to furnish nko, beds, fittings, tv, maybe fridges, tables, dining area, kitchen etc. If the place is standard with proper durable stuff, it may cost that much. Finally, it is donated. Not built by government or the school. Abi person go donate again and Nigerians go still complain say watin him donate too cost? |
Kai, even on humanitarian grounds to save fellow Nigerians, we still find cause for the usual tribal issues. Hope this wount extend to football, the only remaining uniting thing we have left as Nigerians.

HeartlessMan:Na so.. |
Printerscanner:"Instead of Peter Obi's lawyers to try and prove that Peter Obituary did not rig in Enugu, Imo, Anambra, Abia and Ebonyi" Oga, how the court works is not for Obi to prove that rigging took place in the above mentioned states he won, the onus lies rather on the the accuser. If obi claims rigging took place in states Tinubu won, then he has to prove that. He who accuses bears the burden of prove. "That is how you know that lawyers as heartless, instead of telling Peter Obituary that he has no case, they are just collecting money from him to file" Let Obi, Atiku or who ever challenge any grievance in court, let heartless lawyers collect their money to file (using your words). It is nothing personal between them as Obi said, what he is doing is challenging the process. It his right to do so, and it strengthens our judiciary, politics and democracy. Tomorrow, it could be the candidate you support that glaringly feels aggrieved, will you then advice him to leave it for God? After the supreme court rules, all candidates and Nigerians in general should move ahead and give full support to the new government in place. This is not fight matter, I assure you Obi, Atiku, Tinubu and other politicians are not enemies but paddies, it is supporters that take it as fight. |
GreyLaw:Abi oh. Have money, 80% of one's problems are solved. |
PARADIZEPRIEST:I see you have a legit perspective. We should go to other countries to spoil their own. Before, one could enter turkey with a valid UK, US, EU visa. Just apply online, in 10min you get it. That was blocked last year till date. Singapore that was visa free, blocked few years ago. Look at Dubai of all places saying they don't want Nigerians despite the billions legit Nigerians spend there yearly. All this because of some miscreants. Hope Qatar, bahrain wount go the way of Dubai soon. |
Na wah, never has it been so low. Benin deporting Nigerians. As we are not of any economic value to them. They no longer fear loosing our business or citizens as it had been proven they can do without us. Haba!! This outgoing regime really dragged us to the mud. Anyway hopefully the incomming one will redeem us from this embarrassment around the world. If naija were good, will our people be going around constituting a nuisance? |
Truthshscrazy:Truth of the matter is that people will always try to find a loophole. But don't for get the person trying to borrow money from you will not be thinking of all this. He ask you, as you are giving him, you demand for cheque. Anyway, nothing is 100% guaranteed, it is just an additional protection. |
SavageResponse:People are sentenced daily but we dont hear about it. Anyway most try to settle before it gets to case. Usually at police or efcc. Most, when you threaten them will wish to settle sharp sharp. One of my paddies, ordered medical equipment from mushin, on the day of payment omo igbo called him that his check bounced. If you see the panic this guy went through looking for money to put in that account. Another of my friends, police arrested him to the then IG intelligence unit, gra. Infact his creditors said they did not want the money, rather they wanted him charged to court, that he must go to jail. When his family saw this guy would likely smell jail, they looked for the money with begging for the case to end. The fear that one could loose his freedom for just eg 1 month,, imagine if there is no option of fine. Wount you pay?

Fibonacci88:Rumors has it he negotiated position of minister of petroleum. Truth of the matter is that it is all about political and financial interest. Nobody should wound himself over politicians. Wike will continue drinking 40 year old wiskey, those that helped him commit in rivers will continue wallowing in poverty. Naija is on a cashout stage. Ie package yourself with the powers that be, then cleanout for your generations unborn. |
Kobojunkie:Ahhh, they do. That is why those days you want to take loans from microfinance banks, regular banks too, you want to finance eg a car, they will ask for post dated cheques for all the monthly payments even if it is for 4 years. Me cannot loan someone money without collecting a cheque. Unless it is money I can afford to loose. If you have the time, read the law below and the cbn response at the bottom. The issuance of a dud cheque is a criminal offence pursuant to Section 1 of the Dishonored Cheques (Offences) Act CAP D11 LFN 2004 and punishable under Section 1 (1) (b) (i) of the same Act. The crux and relevant provisions of the Act are as follows: (1) Any person who – (a) obtains or induces the delivery of anything capable of being stolen either to himself or to any other person; or (b) obtains credit for himself or any other person, by means of a cheque that, when presented for payment not later than three months after the date of the cheque, is dishonored on the ground that no funds or insufficient funds were standing to the credit of the drawer of the cheque in the bank on which the cheque was drawn, shall be guilty of an offence and on conviction shall- (i) in the case of an individual be sentenced to imprisonment for two years, without the option of a fine; and (ii) in the case of a body corporate, be sentenced to a fine of not less than N5,000. Measures taken by CBN Prosecution of the offenders directly; Handing the offenders over to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other security agencies for prosecution; Banning the offender from accessing credit facility for a period of 5 years; Cancellation of all unused Cheque books issued to serial issuers of dud cheques upon the compilation and dissemination of information by CBN; Sanctioning any bank that fails to report serial issuer of dud cheques. |
Kobojunkie:Thats the idea, a bounced post dated is a criminal matter. That is the strongest way to get someone to pay. You can go to the police to report. The person will be arrested. I think it is between 2-7 years jail term without option of fine. Can't remember exactly. |
Kobojunkie:Lol, court will ask how much the person can pay. If it is 100k debt, the person says he can only afford 2k monthly as his salary is 30k, he has to feed, transport, pay school fees etc. Court then says no, pay 4k monthly till the debt is cleared. You go come de wait for years to get your money, don't forget inflation. Better still get the person to give you a postdated cheque along with the promissory note. |
aspabay:Very fair too. |
Welcomed development. The judge was also fair in his judgement. |
Jennyclay:Lol, it is also play the judge played with him. |

ecolime:The cameras are everywhere. Most are mobile. As in vehicles that park in strategic places with cameras in them scanning vehicle number plates. Akowonjo, shasha, ikotun etc, they are all there. |

Amala withe gbegiri and ewedu. |
Thinking of gbegiri. I am sending for amala with gbegiri and ewedu, 2 ponmo, I dried fish and either tilapia or catfish. Mama T, here I come. |
Blazebond:Yes as you rigtly said, in this country we over react to trivial issue too much. A case in point is this reaction to an incomming governor wanting to hit the ground running. Already prepared and knows what he wants. If the current governor is progressive and wants the betterment of the state, he will be supportive of the gov elect, providing logistics, support to his transition team to enable a seemless transition of government. |
