An average salary for doctors in government hospitals is between 120 and 200k. Senior regs in FMCs and teaching hospitals is between 220 and 270k. Consultants is 400k upwards ( although there are young consultants but most times you for don old before you reach that stage) Doctors don't earn much in nigeria . Many of them are struggling with their toyota big daddy and honda baby boy dem dey use do yanga up and down. Con dey toast and sweet mouth small small girls for streets with "I'm a medical doctor " talks. and Gone are the days where every child's dream is to be a doctor and lawyer. Both professions don too cast moat especially that law.. Those one na charge and bail and property agents full streets.

The doctors, thought consultants I am seeing now in a gov hospital are making outstanding money. Drive machines etc.
Cost 50k consultation fees each. Just seeing 5 new people a day is 250k, seeing 5 return customers at 20-30k is 150k.
If you don't have money saved in this country for emergencies, you are doomed if heavy health issues hits you.

Hmm. The 3 consultants I met recently, I cost 50k each with further consultations costing 20k(each) . None lasted more than 5min and more files were brought in of people on appointments. 250k may be money they easily make daily.
Other people that cannot afford it, have to arrive early hours in the morning to queue, spend the whole day waiting to see this same people in the general hospital. But within the same general hospital is a privately owned one. First class service, humane staff, acess to all the specialist at snap of finger etc. Ac, lift, electric stretcher ambulance, good food, helicopter landing pad. 500 to 800k lodging deposit.
But guess who owns the place?

I have acess to all the top specialist while others have to go to the general part of the hospital and qeue for a whole day just to see the same specialist. Of course consultation with a consultant specialist cost 50k. Deposit for "lodging" between 500-800k. Best food etc.
Surely most folks unfortunately on this forum might not be able to afford this, but this people have really taken care of themselves! Is this how it should be?
Anyway, let's hope who enters will do the right thing, be it Obi, Tinubu, Atiku or mc macaroni.

Who runs a business like this? Takes a thriving business and run it aground. Take loans and loans to bury it.
