In Greek, a noun has up to nine or more different cases with each case having slightly different spelling but all referring to the same noun. Consider an example below.

Iet us see, what it means for men to be called elohim in the old testament.
The first man to be called Elohim was Moses
In exodus 7 vv 1.

Exodus 7:1 And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.

The literally interpretation of "a god" is elohim which was used in Psalm 82.

However what does it mean?

Exodus 4:16 And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.

This explains perfectly what it means for men to be called God. It means one who represent God.

One of the problem that people who are not native speakers face when they read a translation is that they often miss the intent. In the scripture you quoted God was not calling Moses Elohim. Consulting other translations will help you understand the intent.

Jesus was not claiming he is a god like them but rather he is a God more than them, note the difference.

The Jews accusation against Jesus is that it was wrong for a man to declare himself God. Jesus pointed out to them that God himself had declared some men God in the scripture.So, how can he, who was sanctified and sent by God not have a right to declare himself God.

The word translated gods in the above verse is the word daimonion which mean a heathen deity. The first letter of that word was rendered in small letter in the original text.

The problem with English translators is that anytime the word Theo was not used in reference to Jehovah God, the render it as "a god" or "gods" to show a distinction. This gives English readers the impression that the word in that context refers to a lower God. That is not the intent. That is why Theo is always capitalized in the original text. You may consider other Gods lower to your God, but the worshippers of those Gods do not think so.

All human beings are spirits in human body, does that mean all human beings are born of God? To be born of God does not mean you become a spirit, It means the spirit of man to be regenerated to the image of God.

Man is wholly, completely and entirely a spirit. He has a soul and lives in a body. His soul consist of a will, a mind and an emotion. He is neither a body nor a soul, but a spirit. Just like God is a spirit, man is a spirit. So when God is referring to man, he is, more often than not, reffering specifically to the spirit- the real man.

2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us what happens when a man gives his life to Christ.

Note that the word man here refers to the spirit.

The word translated " new" in the above verse is the Greek word "kaino" which means a new specie that never existed before. So, when a man gives his life to Christ a new specie of spirit is created by God or, more correctly put, born by God.


Rom 6:6 tells us what happened to the old spirit which the Bible calls an man.

Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

The old spirit is crucified or killed or destroyed or gotten rid of. The person that says the sinner's prayer accepting Jesus as his lord and savior and the person who emerges from that prayer are two different persons.

Everyone that is fathered by God is God.

For your information, there are several words that are translated son in scripture. The word son does not always refer to someone born as a result of reproduction.

In you study the following scriptures you will realise that the word son refers to angels.

When a person calls himself a son/child of God, he is actually calling himself God That was the Crux of of the issue the Jews had with Jesus. All Jesus did was merely call God his father. The Jews took up stones to stone him because they knew that by if anyone called himself a child/son of God, he was by implication calling himself God. Jesus never contested nor corrected that conclusion, instead he corroborated it. Every time you call yourself a son of God, you are calling yourself God. I can tell for free that if this were back then in Jesus' days, all those Christian's who go about calling themselves children of God would get crucified like Jesus was crucified.

Calling yourself a Son of God is the same as calling yourself God. So, each time the Bible calls us sons of God, it was actually calling us God.

You said God called those people God's in Psalm 82:6 because they already called themselves God. That's not true. There is nothing in that chapter that suggest it. When a person is born again, he is born of God. He receives the exact same nature God has which Bible calls the Divine nature, that is, nature of deity(2 Peter 1:4). Also, he receives the exact same life God has called Eternal life. (1 John 5:11). If a person who is born of God has the exact same nature that God has, and the exact same life that God then he is definitely God. God has the Divine life, the life of Deity- Zoe. His children have have the Divine life , the life of Deity called Zoe. They are definitely Gods.

You said spiritual birth is different from physical birth. That is true. Bible gave us the basic difference between spiritual birth and physical birth.

John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Physical birth produces physical beings, spiritual birth produces spirit beings. God is a spirit, when he gives birth to children, his children are spirits ( who live in physical bodies).

My advice to you is to consult different translations and the original text often when you study your Bible. It will make things clear to you. I suggest you start with John 1:13 for a start . You will see reason to change your mind.

In my formative years, we were three fiery brothers practising Christianity in Iwo town -- two of us very poor, but with strange will to survive. After secondary education and with nothing to live for, first among us was a talented beggar. As the second guy, my mother is late, and my father's whereabout was unknown. So, the first guy and I were living in one of the three houses I knew belonged to the father of the 3rd guy, but the father didn't care about the 3rd guy, though. The first guy is a genius in gathering monies through request for "urgent 2k" -- we lived on this for years.

Miraculously, I and the 3rd guy obtained degrees in science and administration respectively; the first guy obtained a degree in theology and became the chaplain of a university Chapel.

But those days as a fiery Christian, I lost 40% of my hearing. The last time I visited the first guy of a chaplain, he needed me to source urgent 5k for him. Just this morning, the 3rd guy called me that he has bone fractures and is receiving treatment at the Ogbomosho general hospital. He needs money at least for feeding, but none is forthcoming. Let me add that the first guy is in Baptist, I was in Winners Chapel while the 3rd guy is a Mountain of Fire adherent.

Then I joined the ministry in Winners Chapel. Oratory is still my best physical gift -- those in Winners Chapel Adeeke, Iwo in 2005 will remember me by the name Yinka. I had studied the scriptures from "paali to paali"; prayer sessions I handled those days looked like wartime events. While in the university, I was sent to pastor a new church in another town and did so successfully. I want to expand my knowledge as regards a crucial part of the church and it's workers (Clergyhood) as a Christian.

I've had a lot of people talk about THE CALL OF GOD and all cases I've heard seems to vary. Off course it's obvious there is an increase in misinterpretation as regards the topic which can translate to frustration and falsehood as we have everywhere today.

I understand some people are not called in divinity (spiritual experience) but study and acquire certificates to be Pastors, Evangelists, Clergy Teachers, Apostles and Prophets. But I refer to people that claim to experience the call of God from God Himself.

I've had personal testimonies of my own that are extraordinary (supernatural) happenings in which I can attribute each one of them to the grace and mercy of God. Hence, my faith is enhanced through these happenings. And I must confess I wouldn't settle for less (JESUS is Lord!). So atheists..back off!

Which brings me to the question.

How do you know God is calling you or has called you to serve Him in Spirit and in truth?
Or do you know of someone close to you that can be a yardstick of genuine call from God. I and a whole lot of people ignorant of this divine experience may benefit from your contribution in several ways. Thank you.

Please I strongly advise you to always ignore whatever kobojunkie says. He doesn't understand the Bible although he sincerely believes he does. His assertions are always full of misinterpretations. What I like about him , however, is his confidence. He confidently speaks misinformation and misinterpretations. He has absolutely no regard for God's word. Most of the time, when I read his assertions, I laugh out my heart at the degree of error in them.

He doesn't know that a blessing is a supernatural empowerment to prosper and that a curse is a supernatural empowerment to fail.

He doesn't know that all children of God are also children of Abraham by faith.

He doesn't know that until Jesus died and shed his blood for the redemption of the world, nobody got redeemed and nobody got born again.

Your thread was not well captioned.

God calls people to be apostles, prophets, teachers, and evangelists; but God doesn't have to necessarily call a person before the person can be a pastor. A person can be appointed into the office of a pastor.

1 1 Timothy 3:1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

The Greek word translated bishop there is the word episkope which means overseer ( or overseership) which in the context it was used means pastor.

Simply put a person can desire to be a pastor and work towards it. It is very scriptural.

You need to separate a calling from an office. There is the office of a pastor, teacher, prophet, evangelist and an apostle; and there is the divine call to be a pastor, prophet, teacher, evangelist and apostle.

Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

If a person is divinely called to be a pastor, prophet, teacher, evangelist and an apostle; it is his destiny to occupy the associated office.

As I said earlier, even if you are not called to be a pastor, you can desire the office of a pastor and work towards it which can lead to you being appointed into the office of a pastor. That then makes you a pastor.

So, there is a pastor by divine call and there is a pastor by appointment.

The keyword here is ceremony! Are both parties competent? Were there witnesses? Was it documented, either paper, photos and/or video? If these requirements were met then no court in Nigeria would deny that the union is valid, fornication no longer exists once dowry is accepted, the rest na packaging.

This is exactly what I was telling Kobojunkie, but he maintained that only registered marriages are valid.

There's no such thing as religious marriage anymore, it is all traditional. For you to get married in a church or by a Muslim clerics, certain requirements must be met such as parental consent, witnesses and in some cases dowry. No credible pastor or Alfa would officiate a union without one hence the term traditional or customary. Moving on, your opening sentence just stated the court will recognize it even if not registered but you contradict yourself by explaining further why it must be registered.

I know for a fact the court recognizes church and niqqah certificates without registering with the governemnt as long as certain requirements are met. Like I said to another person, the only difference between being married at a court/registry and being married in church or via niqqah is the level of protection one' gives over the other, e.g traditional allows polygamy while court registry simply does not.

So, if you just go with you relatives to the woman's house and pay dowry and do a marriage ceremony, then take the woman to your house. Has marriage not occurred? If you sleep with such a woman, are you committing fornication?

Most are registered, either church or the Muslim Niqqah, both issue certificates that serves as registration, of course court weddings provide more protection(Monogamy, etc) but in over 900 cases brought before the courts in the past 10 years, the religious marriage certificates was enough proof of validity.

Even if the are not registered, the court will still recognise it. BTW apart from a court the certificate issued during church marriage and Niqqah is not recognised in most paces. Until you register a marriage at a marriage registry, it is not yet registered. A marriage is deemed to be registered only and only of it is registered with the government. Those certificate issued during religious marriage just help to proof that a marriage has occurred. That certificate can then be used as a basis for registering the marriage with the government.

One more thing, church and mosque marriage are not traditional marriages, they are regious marriages. There are three types of marriages on Nigeria: court, religious, and traditional. Any of these three is valid, but each still need to be registered. Kobojunkie note the above.

You can only register something that has taken place for national record purposes and to get a formal document to show people without having to resort to a court that that thing has occurred. If you don't have a formal proof you may miss such benefits unless the court comes to your rescue.

That something was not registered does not mean it never occurred.

For example, birth. That a birth was not registered does not mean it did not occur. You and I know that a person without a birth certificate will face a lot of disavantages until the court bail him out.

Another example of is death. That a death was not registered does not mean it never occurred, but without a death certificate, how do you claim the vast amount in your late dad's account.. Many deaths go unregistered.

Similarly, before you register a marriage,for record purposes, it must first have occurred. That you did not register it does not mean it never occurred. If you don't register it, you face some disavantages until the court comes to your rescue.

I have never met anyone who registered traditional marriage, but,I know that inspite of this many people which such marriage seek divorce in the court of law. If such marriages were not valid, the court would never entertain such cases.

The important point to note is this: you can only register something that had occurred, whether birth, marriage or death.

You are wrong. Amaphrodites are called INTERSEX and not TRANSGENDERS. Transgenders are born with only one sex . By taking homone injections their body form can change to look like that of the opposite sex. Most of them retain the sex organ they were born with while very few change it.

Jesus himself said Just has Jonah was In the belly of the wale for three days, so will he too be In the belly of the earth for three days.

Some translation render it as " threw of from himself principalities and power.

So right now Satan has absutely no power. He has been disamed. He has been paralyzed, he has been stripped of all power.

The word translated disarm there is the word "apekdoumai" which means " to strip".

In the process Satan lost his authority unlike Adam, Jesus obeyed God to the letter.

So, right now the devil has neither power nor authority. Note that there is a difference between power( Greek dunamis) and authority (Greek exsousia). While authority is conferred, power is the dynamic ability to cause changes.

Right now all that Satan has is the ability to decieve.

So, who is now ruling the world? Well, born again Christians are now the de facto ruler of the world.When Jesus Rose from the dead he transferred the authority unto them.

Sadly, most Christians are ignorant of these fact. They are not ruling, they are not exercising their authority. They are not using their power. They allow the devil to run amok indirectly rulling the world through lies, deceit, bullying and subterfuge which enable him to control people's mind. With him controlling the minds of most people. He very much has things under control since Christians have failed to rule, exercise their authority and use their power.

THE DECEIT STAGE (PART 1)

I will like to state that at the beginning of the encounter, they actually did use me for sports because they perpetrated certain deceits successfully.

The reason why they decided to have a "face-to-face" encounter with me was because they had tried severally to attack me in the dream, but failed. I became the target of their attack after I mentioned in an earlier thread that I had created that I killed thirty Babalawos and Cele prophets in a certain encounter. They decided to find out how powerful I really was.

At that time, I was rather amused to notice that some unknown persons were trying to attack me in the dream. The funniest thing is that they were using approaches that I had learnt how to tackle way back as a teenager Christian. The thing with me is that: in the dream world, I hold no prisoner. I show no mercy.

When they eventually realised that attacking me in the dream world was futile and unwise, they decided to move the arena for their attack to the real world.

The first thing they did next was to make me experience a fake visit from my late father.

I was lying on the bed when the spirit of my late father showed up. He told me he was now in heaven and that, because he died as a baby Christian , he is going through Bible study. He asked me to extend his greetings to my siblings, then he left.

I became so excited. I told myself," I knew it! I knew my father made it to heaven!" I was so happy and excited.

While I was busy basking in that euphoria, they made their next move. They made me have a fake divine visit from from God, the Father, and Jesus.

Once again, on the fateful day, I was lying on the bed when two spirits showed up. Unlike the case of my late father, I couldn't see them, but I could hear them. They reminded me of how the Bible said in the Amplified version that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit dwells in Christians. I acknowledged that fact. Then they introduced themselves to me as the Father and Jesus, and entered into me. Of course nothing entered into me. That was just one of their deceit devices.

I think it will be appropriate for me to deviate a little and say a few things about myself that will help you understand the story.

A short while before I created this account and started posting in this section, I had been studying the Bible about Godship. Godship is a term coined by me. It refers to functioning as God. But as at the time I stated this study, I had not coined the term. I had seen from Bible study that all children of God were all Gods like their father. Just as goats give birth to goats and lions give birth to lions even so God gives birth to Gods. Anyone who says that God is his father is actually saying that he is Good because a God can only give birth to Gods. So, as a result of Revelations from this study, I started saying each morning in my prayer times ," I am a god." ( I actually started by calling myself " a god" but right now, as a result of better revelation I now call my self "God" and not "a god". So, it was quite habitual for me to call my self "a god" during my prayer times. Well, I suppose that before they moved the arena of attack from the dream world to the real world the had been monitoring me for some time and had noticed that I call myself "a god" . I

At the second visit of the fake Father and Jesus a conversation ensued between us. In the course of the conversation, they chided me for spending most of my prayer time in speaking in tongues. They said worship was very important to Gods and that God's derive their power from the worship of men. Well, in the course of the conversation, the Father pronounced my name and pronounced my almighty James. (I am just using James here in place of my name. James is not my name). To drive home the point, they asked me to bow down and worship them. The inform me that the more I worshipped them the more powerful they become. They then went on to say that since I am now almighty James, they too would bow down and worship me. So, they did so for some time. The we took turns in worshipping each other.

Afterwards, the told me that all Gods, no matter the religion, were all working for a common purpose - to get worship from men so that they can become more and more powerful. What they next came to me as a rude shock. They introduced me to a new spirit who introduced himself to me as Allah. (Of course this was a fake Allah. These were nairalanders using some spiritual technique to masquerade as the Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit and now Allah.) They said he was one of them and that he was only using Islam to get worship from men to make Gods powerful. All my Christian Life, I had always believed that Christians and Muslims were not worshipping the same Good, so, this was a bitter pill for me to swallow. I thought," This is the greatest deceit of the universe. Gods were actually deceiving men.' To cut a long story shut, after much explaining, the got me to agree to worship Allah. Allah too worshipped me. Then, Allah and I took turns in worshipping one another. Finally, they announced to me that since I am Good, it will be my turn tonight to answer people's prayers. A puzzled expression appeared on my face. The expression conveyed the message," What? What on Earth is that supposed to mean?" They explained to me that answering prayers is one of the things Gods do and that we will be taking turns to answer people's prayers and that tonight will be my turn. They informed me that I had to keep awake all night answering people's prayers.

Well, as it turned out. I slept heavily that night. I was woken up rudely by them the next morning. They were livid with anger. They said,"So, you think being a Good is all about chanting every time 'I am god". You can't even carry out the most basic God function- answering prayers. You are are no longer god. In fact you are not even a Christian any longer. Immediately they said that, I heard a sound, "Going, gring, gring".

That was when the deplored their next deceit against me. The made me believe I was no longer a Christian and that I was now an apostate. The grand plan was that, once I believe that I am no longer a Christian, I will become easy to attack.

The next morning when I walked outside of the apartment. I heard a voice that said you are now possessed. I waved it off an nothing. But then, the voice which seemed to be coming from inside me insisted that I was. Of course, I still did not believe it. Then, an invisible force shook my body vigorously. At that time, I did not know that it was possible to exact a force in the spirit realm and have that force exact an effect in the physical realm. Since there was no body around apart from the voice, I fell for the deceit. I believed that I was now possessed. Then I heard two other voices speaking from above at about the top of the building ( the house is a bungao) . The first spoke, "I am such and such. I used to be a very fervent Christian until I started preaching false doctrines. That was what led to my going into apostacy." The lady spoke next,"I too, I was a very spiritual Christian until I started preaching false doctrines. That was how I ended up in apostacy." I understood what they were driving at. They were saying that my teaching about a child of God being god was what led me into apostacy. I shook my head as if trying to clear the cloud gathering around them. I said to myself," How could I of all people go into apostacy? How could a message that blessed people in the church where I minister led into me going into apostacy? How could this even happen?" That was how I finally believed that I had fallen into apostacy.
