Absolutely. That is the more reason to follow Jesus. He is the ONLY WAY, the TRUTH and the LIGHT. Religion is a scam. Only Jesus frees from the deceit of religion.

How can you make such a claim, when your bible says ''if we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us''- 1 John 1:8.

Your book also says ''all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.''- Romans 3:23.

Do I take your word or your bible's?
This your friend never knew Jesus, never was following Jesus. He was only a church pastor, earning a livelihood. Like the americans say, there is big bucks in the god-business. It's such a pity he wasted so many years following christianity without Christ.

Do you not know that the opposite of the Bible is not Atheism/Cult groups?

you explain that?

How does this negate the fact that the Bible is a book of fiction?
As a self-described expert, can you not stay on a topic and defend your position

Ikhide posited that the bible is a work of fiction, provide evidence that it is not.
It's a waste of time proving or disproving anything. Let those who believe in the 'fictional bible' continue to hold on to their 'foolishness' , while the wise and learned continue in their wisdom. I am proudly 'foolish'

You better listen to words of wisdom. That's why most of you ladies don't last long in marriages. The husband is a master and the wife is meant to be under his authority. That's how God Almighty made it to be.
Sorry sir, but the man was not created to be master over woman. The word of God did not imply so. The headship responsibility of a man in the family is in terms of leadership, not supremacy. It does not equal superiority, subjugation or enslavement as in master-slave relationship. The injunction for women to be submissive is for deference to the husband who bears prime authority, under God.
This delicate arrangement cannot be understood until we understand the relationship between the church and Jesus; with whom we are co-heirs.
Pastor was clearly mis-construed, and we are fighting for and against. When we don't even know the God who instituted the arrangement, how would we understand what He intended.

My first passport was 7 yrs ago, when 'fulani-herdsmanism' wasn't a thing, and this same cultural symbol was there (same as others) . On renewal 5 years later it was still there as with the others. While Nigeria may have become more divided today for obvious reasons, we must not always view everything through the prism of ethnicity. The symbol in reference has been there. If it was not an issue before, why now?

The real problem we have in Africa is illiteracy and we suffer from schizophrenia. Too many persons are too lazy to go thru all the pages of the e-psaaport as well as other academic related materials because their minds have been programmed negatively.
The reason I am worried is not because of those images but it is because of the numbers of persons that are reacting without trying to find out the truth value of the news.
So to conclude the real thing is that majority of Africans have a very lazy mind, and this in turn cloud their judgements.
Not until we budget more money for education and recreate our failed institutions Africa will hardly develop.
One fundamental problem with the average Nigerian youth is the lack of critical-thinking skill. We are mostly mentally lazy and cannot think independently. This has become a rich resource for use by corrupt leaders to perpetuate bad governance, bigotry and hate. Too many functional illiterates in Nigeria; It's all over social media

Best answer so far.

First off, your friend should not be sleeping with someone he is not married to. Both him and his girl friend are courting God's anger; it comes in differnt forms.

The lady in question maybe having hyper-prolactinemia. Hospital follow up is strongly recommended.

If left unattended, she may contend with inability to conceive down the line

Those cocktail they drink all in the name of ARV is what is killing them, coupled with the fear of death. I know of a friend who is HIV+ for over 20 years now, no meds and he is more healthy than those claimed to be negative.

HIV is business now. Do you know how much WHO will lose if the cure is found? There will never be a cure cause there is no virus to begin with.. Even if there is, it isn't harmful.

HIV doesn't lead to AIDS.
Who knows, you probably would not have been able to make this post, cos you probably would have died before 5yrs of age from malaria or diarrhoea, if WHO had stayed away.

Hi nairaland Family,

kindly help out, i had to create this alternative moniker because I'm widely known here with my other moniker.

I'm a female nairalander, today is really a black Thursday for me. I have lost total Focus and concentration, very depressed at the moment. I'm diagnosed with HIv positive, being crying since morning. the worst part of it is, i'm a virgin, had never sex with any man in my entire life. I was advised to start taking medications immediately...

doctors and well experienced nairalanders in the house, will this medication prolong my life? will it cost me expenses? or the HIV will one day turn to AIDS despite the medication? I'm deeply confused!

kindly help push this to the front page, God bless you all!
There is ABSOLUTELY no need to fret unnecessarily. Overcome yourself and move forward. A tiny proportion nof persons may get infected either vertically through birth or unethical blood transfusion or even needle pricks etc.

Visit a nearby clinic of your choosing and start medication immediately.

As at today there is no drug that can eradicate the virus completely (beware of scam). However the medication would keep the virus suppressed such that you can live your 'normal' life and fulfill the number of your days in absolute sound health like any uninfected person. Arguably, it's better to have HIV and live positively than Hepatotis B (as at today, at least).

You would only need to ABSOLUTELY adhere to your meds, taking them as instructed, when instructed. You MUST develop that discipline.

Be assured that while positive and virally suppressed you can lead a normal life, including marrying someone who is negative and not transmitting the virus and having uninfected kids.

WARNING: Feeling of grief and regrets and depression would come. Watch out for them. Just keep taking your meds. Beware of 'pastors', nairaland healers and herbal medical practitioners. This league is beyond them.

The earlier you started medication the better. If you stop your medication at anytime or fall into the familiar trap of embracing other forms of treatment in lieu of conventional medical care, then YOU HAVE USED YOUR HAND TO KILL YOURSELF.

Perhaps you can message me if you need someone to talk with. I'd be too glad to share the little info i have.

Stay well.

As expected, only a few reasonable comments.

Doctors and nurses are never liked. Let them learn to practice defensively.

As so many nairaland lawyers and activists have suggested, let the doctor be reported and/or sued, if she feels violated. The NMA should avail them all the reporting channels. Let the doctor also be ready to claim for willful defamation and wrong accusation if the allegation is proved wrong.

My understanding is this:
A U.S. green card is a permanent residency card while a U.K. Tier 2 visa is a temporary residency visa. With a green card, after 5 years you can apply for U.S. citizenship. With a Tier 2 visa, you have to work 5 years before you can apply for permanent residency, which is called indefinite leave to remain in the U.K., then you can apply for U.K. citizenship

At the end of the day, it will depend on what your final goal is and how quickly you want to achieve it.

RomanceRe: Cohabiting In Relationship: Right Or Wrong? by nervorum: 5:43pm On Sep 26, 2018
cover9ja:
Cohabiting is simply “living together with”. So, should unmarried folks live together?

Generally, married people live together, except for some rare exceptions of course. However, people seem to be divided in opinions when it comes to the question of whether or not couples that are not legally married should live together, for varying reasons.

It has become common to see young people who are engaged or merely dating cohabiting, and this seems either awkward or straight out wrong to certain people. For these people it either crosses their conservative boundaries or it runs against their logic.

According to Halima: “People who aren’t married yet shouldn’t be staying together. Cohabitation is for married people because they are more equipped to deal with the consequences, not unmarried couples.”

She also argued that people who aren’t married yet should create certain spaces for themselves to make the relationship more solid. Moreover, she added, if they get married they will have a whole lifetime to live together. So why the rush?

In agreeing with Halima, Blessing, a hairdresser said that a girl staying with her boyfriend or any partner she’s not legally married to only makes her a mere possession of her boyfriend and that locks her away from other potential relationships with the right people. According to her, young people should have the space and freedom to explore for themselves and living with a partner robs them of that.

However, Peter disagreed strongly. He argued that people who are hoping to get married could live together in preparation for their marriage. He insisted that living together builds a tighter bond between the couple and that they also learn more about themselves. He said too that living together will give them a glimpse of what being married to each other would be like, and with that they can decide whether or not they are willing to tie the knot in the long run. Moreover, he added, living together saves the cost of rent.

So, here’s a question for the readers: Is it appropriate for unmarried couples to live together?

Source: https://cover9ja.com/on-cohabiting-right-or-wrong/
Straight answer tobthe question without reading the epistle: WRONG. Why? cos its wrong in God's sight

I lived in both country so my feedback is : it depends on many factors , how old are you , what school did you finish from, how long ago you finished your MBBS (in your case 6 years) and also it depends on what specialist program .

That been said , i have seen many doctors from Nigeria been able to match in the US or in the UK been able to enter the system easily . So i think either way you might not lose if it works out well and other Nigerians have been able to cross the bridge .

However the UK is easier in terms of exams and entering the system . The UK has an upper hand in terms of after you pass Plab 2 and get GMC registration you can work in a locum capacity until you get into a residency program..Locum are well paid as well so you wont be hungry. You dont need filing from employer which is a good point too . , but the US, your working as a doctor is dependent on that you graduate from a residency program and initial matching is a lot of work as well . You have an advantage that you dont need H1B ..... so UK versus US which is easier i would say UK . who on the long run earns more money , i would say US but both are very comfortable after you break through . ... which do you choose ?. only you can make that determination .
Thanks a lot.

But according to you its still the patient's fault. SMH
Doctors/Nurses are not gods. Medicine is not magic.
Even in the US people have conditions that defy modern science. A few years ago, HIV was an enigma. There was no solution. 20 years later, its a different story.

Look, its not enough to come online and submit bogus claims to prove a point.

Healthcare workers in Nigeria are working 'magic' in a hopelessly broken system.

As bad as your Nigerian doctors and nurses, who cannot even diagnose your mum, they leave the shores of Nigeria and excel.

People have run to India and have returned in body bags.

Do you recall an ex-minister who was diagnosed of cancer in Nigeria, but went abroad and got wrongly diagnosed. Accepting the wrong diagnosis to be superior since it was from outside Nigeria, relaxed for some years, only to find out the truth much later which led to her death?

Celebrate the Nigerian healthcare workers. They are our heroes.

thanks @madridguy for calling my attention to this. Since she claimed it was attested to by the doctor, I won't say a mistake wasn't made here. Though appearance has nothing to do with blood. It is the blood group that matters. For example, I can give O negative blood to anybody. So if your blood group is btve, I can give you Btve now and the second pint may be o positive so it may not exactly be the same. But it must be compatible. But there are several blood types not commonly tested that can still cause reaction so even if it is compatible, it can still cause reaction. But blood reaction doesn't mean INSTANT DEATH. In a normal hospital, it rarely cause death because we will know there is reaction. Once there is reaction, we will just stop it, give a certain drip, certain injections to limit the spread. Even without a doctor...a nurse can start the treatment because normally you would have given down instruction in the casenote that IN CASE OF BLOOD TRANSFUSION REACTION...DO THIS AND THAT. So, this may be a genuine case of carelessness which is rare. You know why? You will need to send sample to the lab, the lab will crossmatch the blood with what they have, they will release it with a note stating the blood group of the patient and the blood group of the donor. The doctor or nurse putting it up too would have checked. So it must have passed through at least two officials. Don't forget the blood would have been taking to central bank if it is Lagos where they too would have confirmed the blood type and out logo. We will now remove the logo and put it on the patient card. So while I am not saying mistake is not possible since we are all humans, it is rare and there will be facts backing it up

I believe there are UK/US-based doctors here that's why im making this long post. What do you guys think.

I have the opportunity of moving to the US on a green card, and also the UK on spousal visa (tier 2).

Now, if i go to the US, i'd need to take usmle (target is residency). But i'm worried. What are my chances of matching, being that i am 6 years post med schl (read a lot of discouraging testimonials by IMGs online).

The PLAB pathway seems shorter, less expensive and less stressful, but should i throw away the opportunity of being a US LPR?

How is life in the UK vs US , and vice versa (never stepped out of Naija before).

My spouse is comfortable to relocate anywhere i prefer, so long the family is together.

Pls what do i chose. UK and take PLAB (shorter, less stressful) or US (as a legal permanent resident) and take USMLE (with an air of uncertainty with matching for residency training).

I'd appreciate your thoughts.

RomanceRe: If You Have Sex With A Man, His DNA Lives In You Forever. by nervorum: 5:59pm On Sep 02, 2018
handsomeyitayo:
DNA

If you have sex with a man, his DNA lives in you forever.

A research by university of Seattle USA has proven that.
There is now a greater understanding of why God asks us not to have sex before we get married.

This research proves that any man, that a woman has sex with leaves a part of his DNA in the woman.

The man who has had more sex with her, leaves more of his DNA in the woman. So when a woman ovulates, the eggs that she produces contain more of other DNAs.

So we need to educate the girlchild to remain a virgin till marriage.

Anytime you have sex with another man you become one with that man (spiritually too) and carry the man's DNA.

At some point when you have too many of the male DNA in you; you change, because your cells are changing.

That also proves why when married couples live together for a long time they end up looking alike. The woman's DNA changes when she has sex with men. This is very serious.

The world should know this and stop silly sex promotions.

It is bad than good.
Unfortunately women are the victims.

This was found out in many other research articles mostly released this year. So it is new and we all have to know.

The fact is, women retain DNA from every man they have slept with.

Cells transferred from a man to a woman during intercourse become integrated into the woman's body after sex, every single time they have sex.

This study found the presence of genetically distinct male cells in the brain of women. This also means these other male cells will be found in a foetus when the woman gets pregnant.

(This is called microchimerism.)

Every male you absorb sperm from becomes a living part of your life. Sperm is a living substance. Living cells. It enters your bloodstream and collects in your brain and spine.

Stop experimenting with sex.

When the sperm enters a woman it swims until it hits a wall and then seeps into your flesh.

If it's in your mouth, (abomination) it can get into your nasal areas, behind your eyes and even your inner ear. It then enters your bloodstream and collects in your brain and spine. You can never get rid of it.

It becomes a part of you forever. These are the true consequences of sexual intercourse.

Original research is from University of Seattle and Fred Hutchinson cancer research center.

They accidentally found this when they were researching to find out why pregnant women carrying boys get men neurological diseases.

This is real and not a joke.!!!

Stop having sex if you are not married.

And stop having sex with other than your husband, for the married.

The consequences of doing this is devastating.(Bastards)!!
No wonder the world is the way it is!

Say no to sex when not married.
Say no to EXTRA-MARITAL affairs also.
Trash.
"Voodoo science"
Its cheap to use lies to condemn extra/pre-marital coitus
