Many had succeeded in their *japa* plans Some had gotten connections that led to their upliftment Some are jobs and contracts Many are life partners that led to happy marriages Many got business insigh9and are doing well While some remain the same... bittered and antagonists Many are dead....RIP to that our American Soldier... IconicR:It's a norm on here... Don't take it to heart sis #smiles You haven't shared what you've gained so far sha....kindly do so and tell us the year you joined. Cheers and happy holidays!!! |
Good morning Sirs/Mas, Staying idly at home on a Monday morning due to the holiday gave me the time to be doing this...#smiles The question is...what have you gained so far from being a regular nairalander? I was able to check my previous posts and topics from my old monicker lizzyangel...I joined Nairaland in 2012. Reading through my previous threads....I realized that I've really grown up a bit...thanks for the lessons...the abuses...the mentorship and role models on here. I'm better than the way I was 11yrs ago. I never hammer(financially)....but Nairaland had taught me positive things about life. I'm praying that I'd someday give back to this community in the future. Thanks Seun Osewa for this great forum. The cruise, the educating posts, the tribalism, the red pillers and feminism, the funny and insults are worth the time cos they're responsible for shaping me into a better adult. Gracias!! |
Hmmmmmmmm What a nice write up you've gotten up there! ...I can feel the pain of creating this thread. I pray God intervenes in this generation..things are really happening of truth. According to the popular phrase during Buhari era....*change begins with me* How are you sensitizing the people around you? Despite the ill-state of things...we still have responsible parents and individuals just fewere than they are decades ago. This is a generation of " if you can't beat them ...you join them". "If you don't risk anything...you risk more" How are we training our kids and the kids of our relatives? Train a child in a way he should go......many mothers are slay mamas today....nobody wants to be black...no one wants to manage and these kids learn through observation...imitation and practice If you train yours..and I train mine and the next neighbor train his ....this problems wouldn't have gotten to this stage. But .."I don't care" attitude of our fellow Nigerians and their hypocritical ways of life bring us here. I wonder what we'd be saying come 2030! May God heal our land. |
Lol What's wrong with daddy wey dey pamper song? Do you know the kind of slang and dancing steps King David used in praising God that made his wife belittle him? Don't defend God and worship him in your own dimension. Excesses on your wife's part can be cautioned b4 she'd start visiting the man for deliverance. Moderation is the key in all that we do. Abeg leave my baby favourite "datty wey dey pamper" LoL |
39 years isn't a kid o! Please don't go....at this age you should quit depending on him and source for livelihood by yourself. . It'd be difficult but it's worth it... when are you going to have your own family if all you do at 39 is cleaning up after your uncle's wife? Man up abeg! |
Life is indeed a misery! I pray God strengthen you and send help your way IJN. |
If a thread of 8yrs old could make frontpage... Definitely there's hope for me in life! It's not over until it's over Hallelujah!!! |
Hmmmmmmmm Dear Op, My only advice for you is to make sure you're always busy...get your hands on something productive to make ends meet for yourself and son. Watch the kind of company you keep... avoid downers and be optimistic. If it were meant to be...he wouldn't have left irrespective of what might have transpired amidst you. Appreciate your son... work on yourself...step up in every facet of life and be very careful going into another relationship in haste..... they've gotten nothing to offer than few minutes sex and cash... your son wouldn't be proud seeing you exchanging men. Give it time... you'd overcome and attract the best man and things life had In store for you. I wish you all the best Sis. |
IconicR:LoL *"Omode o mo Ogun ......on pee lefoo"* |
IconicR:No problem dear Sis, Time will tell...cos contractions doesn't flash someone b4 showing up....what if your planned hospital and doctors ain't in the same environment and city where you're having contractions? What if the arranged and planned doctor or nurse isn't on duty at the time you're in labour? What if you're abroad or going for CS here in Nigeria?....no theatre can harbor only female surgeon....this I'm sure of. To worsen the case...make you go born for teaching hospital.... you'd see hot young guys... using your delivery as practical.lol I've read your responses to other experienced people up there and my conclusion is....no amount of words can change your mindset...only the experience can. So I wish you a successful marital bliss and delivery soonest IJN |
IconicR:LoL Wait until you go into labour....by your own self... you'd be begging anybody available to help bring out the baby cos of labour pain. Labour pain ain't child's play. |

It was a gory black Sunday here in Ore, Ondo State 2days ago. A fuel tanker fell and people rushed down to scoop fuel from the tanker which the flood of the just going down rain drove to a nearby building where a pregnant woman cooking with her gas got a spark of fire and it transported the fire back to the venue of the "fuel scooping" Both the onlookers.... innocent kids playing nearby...the pregnant woman...the scoopers... passers by.... motorcyclists.....and lots more ..lost dear life to this sad event. It was massively burning until the next day. I wept bitterly for the masses...... it's not as if they were ignorant of the rash and adverse effects of their actions...I can't join others In saying you guys were greedy because should there isn't this magnitude suffering in the country...many wouldn't risk it cos of few thousands of naira to gain from it. Poverty can make one lose his/her sense of judgement and reasoning. No amount of blaming words can bring back the dead. Only to learn from the accident...wish the victims RIP and pray for the victims family. May we not be a victim of evil circumstances in life IJN. I've been trying to attach video to this post...it ain't working....can anyone teach me how to ga about it? It's a memorable day and I wish I could save it for a long time. So sad. |
Chai! Naija journalism...I hail thee! No phone spark anywhere.....the flood took some fuel through the erosion to a pregnant woman's kiosk who was cooking with gas....it got ignited and the fires traced the petrol back to the tanker. The kids that lost their lives were playing when it got to them The second pregnant woman went to call her hubby who was scooping the fuel to leave. It was a gory sight here yesterday....may the victims RIP . |

iamL:Lol The ruggedity in our gene no be here . |
GabrielYulaw:It is well with Nigerians. |
GabrielYulaw:Oh! Really? It's a norm here in Nigeria....I guess boiling it accurately kills the fungai in it? .. it's been ages people had been eating that stuff here. |
descarado:I guess the expired are the ones we call *esha* in Nigeria language. If fresh tomatoes stayed longer than the expected time... it'd become rotten and might taste sour when cooked. You can make it into paste... boil and refrigerate...this might expand its longevity. |
lavylilly:If wishes are horses dear...... It's a dream of mine even when I no get backup....I get HOPE&FAITH |
IyaTola:United kingdom |
taylor89:Lol....I can't stop laughing with this comment of yours. Funny enough....such names rings bell... He'd be fine laslas |
olasaad:He wasn't correcting a typo but comparing it's present state to the former. |
Princeton92:Other States would falling place soonest too.... even the cheaper price of cooking gas hasn't circulate round the nation. Within a month of being in power these little changes here and there are commendable....BAT should keep it up! |
visaclick:Really? I'm surprised at the stable light here. |
nairalanda1:It's a gradual process... things are going to get better...I believe this. |
Good morning and compliment of the seasons to everyone.. I'm not a fan of politics..... there's a question I've been longing to ask fellow Nigerians about this new administration. Since on May 29th that president Bola Ahmed Tinubu had be inaugurated as the number one citizen....there had been no interruption on our power supply.,.. we've been having constant power supply like people living abroad.... even if they take the light...within few minutes it'd be restored. In my 29yrs of growing up in Nigeria.... I've never felt this great change.... I'm extremely impressed if this administration has something to do with the stability of our electricity. I wish our president more grace to function and lead us right.... things are getting better IJN. How is the changes in power supply in your area Sir/Ma? |
