Marriage can be very difficult at situations like this. Your extended family feeling that your wife is coming in between you and them, and your wife thinking you are letting them come too close. @OP; Point of correction, Jesus was NEVER a style icon, no need comparing him to the jerry curling pastors of today who are stupendously rich. Jesus NEVER lived the life of a wealthy man.

In Matthew 12:6, Jesus says to the Pharisees, "I say to you, that something greater than the Temple is here." How much greater? Look at verse 8. Referring to Himself, Jesus asserts, "The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath." How can anyone be Lord of the Sabbath except God who instituted it? This is a direct claim to deity.
