Geography is destiny.

What does your guy do that he can afford 250k dollars lambo, for you to even have the technical expertise to pull off 500k dollars or 1 million dollars scam, you must have been trained formally by professionals probably you went to a good programming school or got on the job training while working in a company. I believe people like hush, otunba and the rest were working legitimately in the tech or software space, before branching out to crime, a novice cant write undetectable malware and embed it in an email, it takes years of technical experience and formal training to be proficient. most of these 10 million dollar scams are carried out by professional programmers working in a company, who then decide to enter into crime with their expertise. Phishing as a method of attack is already getting ineffective, effective cyber-attacks involve malware which takes you to writing exploits, buffer overflows, OS programming, Malware analysis, etc, these are not for amateurs.
Bro, honestly make we leave talk, I remember back then, I knew dudes who fled Yankee after picking millions of dollars... thats why gee no dey freak me... I've seen it all.

Bro everything wey you mention no be hard work you know ba?

The advantage he has is, his parents are very wealthy in Nigeria... and he's an American citizen. That's why I can't even pull shoulders with him.

For all I know, it might be his father's wealth... but I know this guy well.

The bottom line is, na same guy wey follow me burn pot and waka for street with ordinary bathroom slippers. Even though at that time, it seemed like he was rehabilitating... bottom line is, me and him align matter that year.

Cold war get hin own effects nau... millions of business are shutting down.

There's no flow of this currency again.

Programming › Want To Sell. by niel63(op):
So I am looking to sell 2 react native mobile apps.

The ideas are quite simple and would yield you something if taken seriously...

Someone would ask why am i not taking it seriously myself. Well, I'd have, but I just like creating stuffs... And when I am ready to build out mine proper, I will invest more than design and development time.

My course mate just lunched an app in the UK and guess what, e go blow. In short e don blow.

Google Ride near.

He's in a country where people see reasons. And his team are all mad in the tech space.. The Team you work with matters alot. I'm just a solo developer.

I'd have posted videos to the app interfaces, but nairaland go block me. Tried it sha.

Modified:

I just uploaded a screenshot
One is a fintech app, the other is a local food vender app.

There's a video recording of these... but Nairaland wahala too much.

I'll send it to you on request. I'll even outline the whole idea to you sef.

However, if you're willing to invest in it, so we can go source for good funding, be my guest. I will finish developing the app plus, being a co-founder.

There's room for UI and UX change.

These questions are irrelevant, I swear some people needs to walk on their mentality and low IQ!
---You should ask yourself the purpose of interview
---For an employer that is providing standard accommodation, you should ask yourself if they can't afford Laptops for work.
---And I don't see why 50k-100k pay should be term Reasonable for the skillsets listed and with the current economy.
---Moreso, I believe Nairaland is a community to connect with talents easily as much as Linkedln... As a tech guy I know how much money I have made from projects gotten through Nairaland... dey play! as you think say NL is for broke companies..

Its quite unfortunate that some people don't understand how recruitment works.
When a job publication is made and you need clarification, professionalism demands that you contact the email for any clarification.
I will tell you this for free.

Somamezee:
It is common knowledge among employers that there are certain aspects of a job vacancy that may not be publicly disclosed for a specific reason. If you find that a publication does not meet your expectations, rather than make comments base on your own assertions, oga move ahead.

Many of today's Fortune 500 companies choose not to disclose salary expectations in their job postings, while still specifying age requirements. This decision is made for a reason.

Am not surprised at all from these reactions!---Pride and lack of understanding of how most businesses sets their guiding principles is one major problem that some tech guys especially programmers have...

Requirements are met to streamline response!
You still dey pride sha... cheesy We are talking from experience bro. Is this your first recruitment?

You did well in setting age limits... yet, salary turn bone for your neck. What are you hiding exactly cheesy

Talk truth, how much you wan pay for this role.

Okay i want to apply... and not to waste our time, what is my salary expectation. Are there any incentives?

Will I be working with my own system or you're providing me with one.?

These are the things that makes one ask for salary expectations bro. Na Nigeria we dey and we know how una dey run these things.

I know a popular tech company in lagos that lost 80% of it's engineers because of this thing... omo, na every month dem dey get vacancy. cheesy

People like that don't learn except through the hard way.. Last time someone tried this nonsense with me.

Switch on the generator, after a few minutes, switch off all appliances in your apartment, preferably with the changeover switch to be on the safe side, then go to your generator and rapidly use a star screwdriver to raise the output to the maximum, it will fry all electrical appliances in your neighbour's apartment.

It is not everything you leave to God or the government to judge, heaven helps those who help themselves!
Na you be real calibrator bro. The real wickedness.

Modify your post and add salary biko. Let's start changing that narratives with you.

There's no shame in that... trust me, you'd still see someone who'd apply and get the job done... we're all seeking transparency here bro. No offense of any sort intended.

Just leave am. Leave am make e dey play. Saying salary range will chase talent away. It's okay to state budget and let those who are happy with it to apply.
I swear.

I'd never apply for Nigerian job that doe not expressly state the salary because I know how they all behave...

All acting like demi-gods.
They are all using same old templates.

Post am, who go apply go apply. Make una no dey disguise abeg.
Programming › Re: Vacancy For Developers (URGENT) by niel63(m): 4:08pm On May 05, 2023
Somamezee:
The purpose of the age requirement is for easier work collaboration; and as for the salary, when contacted for a chat/interview the team will tell you that budget which is within the obtainable market value, But there's a possibility of budget adjustment by the client to suit the talent's needs but now imagine putting a range and using it to chase the potential talent away.
I can categorically tell you that's a lie... y'all would only ask the applicants what they expect as salaries... hereby, putting them in some sort of fix.
Now when he or she quotes lesser than the "market value" una go run employ am, then begin give am plenty plenty work... then after 1 or 2 months, he complains... then you do a small increase or come here again seeking for another one to continue where that one stopped.

If it's really a transparent offering, the salary should be transparently stated.

I notice, there's been a few more job posting on nairaland since last week. Now I'm wondering, what really changed. Its a good development I swear but y'all should do more by putting the salary in the job listing.
Programming › Re: Vacancy For Developers (URGENT) by niel63(m): 3:43pm On May 05, 2023
They did well In stating all their requirements, except the salary expectation.

Why una dey always hide that one. It'll save plenty people the time whether they should apply or not.

If na hotel manager job or chef... una go write 35k salary. cheesy
Programming › Re: Tech Don Cast! by niel63(m):
Tech no cast anything... dey play!

I am leaning on golang like this. You know why?
In demand languages will always be "in demand"
AI is built... now we're using AI to build.
See AI as an assisting tool rather than replacement.

One truth you'll should know is... when there's war, all sectors suffer and tech being a major business sector, it'll get affected.
Business no dey move now no mean say business don die.

Tech is not an ATM, rather a scope you can use to build an ATM.
Tech is all about ideas.. and ideas come and go.

The best you can do for yourself is just keep improving your big head no matter how hard it might seem for now, but with time, we'll get past this stage.

Someone posted a job with about AWS CDK and typescript as prefferd programming language. That's a temp gig anyone interested can take on... sometimes, no be the jobs no dey 9ja, na the pay no dey match the requirements and trust Nigerians with reviews and complaints...

We have a long way to go in 9ja...that's why as oyinbo complain, we follow complain cos the crumbs aren't dropping anymore...

Tech isn't dead or casted. Abeg go product hunt and see how new tools are being developed and launched... and the trend now is AI.

You can do anything with this our AI, question is, have you really thought about it?
