DikeOha882:Georges guys are cool, but Iron Tailors is an old fox who knows the tricks of the game. He made many dealers at A-Line rich by replicating Italian designs. Another good guy is/was Custom Design. There may be new really good guys in the profession at Enyimba who are yet to be popular like the ones i mentioned. Enyimba ebuka!! |
I hope the measurement for him is being taken by Iron Tailors, arguably the best man for the job in Enyimba City. |
I grew up in Enyimba City. In the 80s at Hospital Road, from the 90s at Umungasi. Seen all, done all in Enyimba. Enyimba na- Aba!! |
Scholes007:If the user of that monicker is Chino, he should be ashamed of himself. I had sometime ago admonished him to learn to be less insulting in his arguments with fellow Ndigbo. Selling a view point is impossible when it's laced with insults and bigotry. As Ndigbo, we are bound by one fate in this country. |
Pwayne2016:In this time of fostering love and unity amongst Igbos, it's appalling that an Igbo youth who should teach the old ones the need for tolerance calls a fellow Igbo Osu. That cultural lunacy is part of our problem in Igboland. You can't just condemn innocent Ndigbo like that. We must change the way we think about our fellow Umu Igbo. |
Abagworo:I think the problem is a cultural issue. Most local contractors do not care about good quality work delivery today. The politicians who award contract are mostly interested in getting kickbacks instead of making sure that the state is not short-changed by dubious contractors. In the 80s, Hardel & Enic, a local construction company owned by Chief Iwuanyanwu built good roads in both old Anambra and Imo states. Joe Nwankwu did a marvellous work in his company's construction of Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium at Ogui Enugu. |
Seems Gov. Ugwuanyi has learnt some lesson. In 1992, the first executive governor of Enugu State, Mr Okwesilieze Nwodo, a native of Aku in old Nsukka senatorial zone started the same road but couldn't do even 20% of the road after 6 months before he was chased out of office. Now, opening up Nsukka town with new asphalt roads must be a pivotal task for the new governor. Former Gov. Chime started this good idea by linking Nsukka with Enugu through the new Opi - Trans-Ekulu route. This road reduced journey between Coal City and Nsukka by 15 minutes. It's equally important that Enugu state should avoid being a one City state, hence every effort should be made to develop Nsukka. The town's serene and beautiful landscape also makes it an ideal place for tourism. It could be a paradise for golfers and retiree senior citizens. Its mild weather is unrivalled in Igboland. |
For the Jonathanians, under him Nigeria sold about 700 million barrels of crude oil annually for 5 years at an average price of $80 per barrel, and yet he couldn't save a dime neither was the money invested wisely in infrastructural development. What makes you think he could have saved that much by implementing TSA? He had no zeal to save any tangible money for the country. History will never forget that he and Mrs Iwuala failed woefully in this regard. |
I actually thought she stuns in a blue film . Nollywood is crap!! Prefers Denzel Washington, Will Smith or that beautiful queen of Sheba on 'Bad Boys 2'. Or Zebrudaya, Ovuleria, Gregory Akabuogu Jegede Shokoya, Nattie and Klarus Mgbeojikwe. Although Mr Ibu and Osuofia are equally good in providing a million laughs. |
According to Rtd. Major General T.Y Danjuma in an interview on Newswatch magazine in the 90's, " Nigerian government never lacked good ideas, implementation is the problem". The president that had the balls to implement TSA is the real boss here. President Buhari is the boss!! |
Ada Imo, Olisa gözie nne na nwa, nye unu ogonogo ndü na-arü isi ike!! #nwaEnugu |
From a neutral view point, looking at the historical earnings from Nigerian crude oil export during the boom five year period, the former ruling party unashamedly operated a massive Ponzi scheme unrivalled in the history of pilfering with public fund. There are absolutely nothing to show where the monies were invested. Not on new refineries, brand new airports or dozens of new autobahns. Even with a good turnaround in the future, the country might well sink into a new economic challenges as long as Nigerians see every Chinese fart as perfume. While growing up in this country in the 80's, we had tire manufacturers in Port Harcourt and Lagos. Flash and Berec batteries were produced in Nigeria, like many other brands that have since left our shores. |
Ekweremmadu, an old boy of Boy's Secondary School Umueze -Awkwunanaw; a football crazy school that rattled other schools in old Anambra state. Under Johnathan and his party, and as the second most powerful senator for over 8 years, he couldn't help fix Enugu-Onitsha Highway. That's absurd!! |
Randy anacondas beware, that pu.ssy is gonna get you cuffed. Pure deep skin pain dude!! |
INTERPOL should get the blood-sucking vampire and cuff his ar.se. |
The former Coal City queen is on familiar ground. Her father late Chief C. C. Onoh was during his lifetime often on land grabbers neck in Enugu. Her children naturally should inherit properties from their late father. The said properties belonged to Pa Louis Ojukwu, Ikemba's father who was one of the richest Nigerians of his time. He was a first class businessman who invested heavily in Lagos. |
The Economist never had a Nigerian reporter in Nigeria. Sanni Abacha once expelled the magazine's reporter. Apparently, the junta did not like an article written by the Briton about Nigeria. He was asked to leave Nigeria within 24 hours. The magazine always have a foreigner as its reporter in a host country. It's a very serious international magazine like Times magazine and Der Spiegel. |
A Fatty!!! |
I can't forget seeing Jim shaking hands with my soccer idols in an early 80s soccer almanac, with players of Enugu Rangers International FC during a challenge cup finals against Shooting Stars FC of Ibadan, at National Stadium, Surulere Lagos. In that photograph were : Emmanuel Okalla, Patrick Okalla, Mike Ogbuodudu, Christain Chukwu, Aloy Atuegbu, Ifeanyi Onyedika, Okwuchukwu Obiora, Kenneth Boardman, Okey Isima, Louis Igwilo, Christain Ogbodo, Totty Totty, Kingsley Onye, Charles Okonkwo, Ikechukwu Ofoje, Benjamin Okorogwu, Justice Enwendu, etc |
Mr. Jim Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo had the chance of writing his name in Coal City's gold book, but he was more busy contesting for the most handsome NPP state governor with Alhaji Abubakar Rimi of Kano State while Governor Sam Onunaka Mbakwe was putting every effort he could in developing the then Imo State. Former Governor Sullivan Chime eventually became the real deal in Coal City. |
Nelly Uchendu(RIP) and Uche Ofia Nwali would be shaking their head, asking what has befallen Mr.Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo. The Beauties of Queen's School Enugu of the 80's would wonder if this is the same handsome NPP Governor every Coal City girl looked forward to meet at Lion Building party . |
aalangel:The owners of the state with largest landmass in Igboland. Authentic 042 folks. My Coal City is the melting point in Igboland. In Osita Osadebe's voice, " Ebulu n'ama, anaba na obi". Coal City bu obi ndi Igbo! |
Jim Nwobodo is Afam4ever town man. Amechi- Awkwunanaw is in Enugu South LGA of Enugu State(former Nkanu LGA). |
passion007:Passion007 Nwanne Mmadu, uche gi nöö ebe afü. Ofu obi k'anyi ga eji na-aga oh. Ekene diri gi!! |
centje:Nwannaa, i have been watching from the sidelines atimes. Been too busy since mid last year. Hope to say something when time permits. Greetings to all my Coal City lads on the forum!! |
I hope the new governor will try to surpass Chime's achievements. I have two words for him - rural development!! |
They are following the footsteps of their German collegues. The münchner(BMW) has for many decades been the choice of many statesmen. Unfortunatley for Nigeria, these Beemers are likely to cost twice their official price, the rest ending up in private accounts of the ever fattie pigs! |
centje: i have visited akuke...very beautiful place to relax. Btw, is it written as akuke or akwukeAkuke |
Afam4eva: I've never been there but i want to believe it's not that different from what we have in Amaechi cos it's the same body of water that extends to Akegbe-ugwu and other parts of Nigeria but i heard Akuke looks more like a beach than what we have in Amaechi. It's the same river, but the landscape in Akuke is something else. It's fantastically unique up there. ![]() |
ketoprofen: Nwoke be anyi o,Mba oh, our brothers in the other state will not understand that; mmawu abani is Enugu masquerade. I wrote about Uvudike, the most famous masquerade in Okanga, which is unique to us and Nike. ![]() |
Afam4eva: It's a stone throw as Atakwu is in Akegbe-ugwu, Awkunanaw, not quite far from my village. My visit to the area which extends to Akuke beach a few years ago opened my eyes to the great nature's gift to my folks. I marveled at the beauty of the area. The area is a breathtaking beauty to behold. For those interested in nature here, i would advice you pay a visit. It's worth every effort.... |
chino11: We are talking about the world's 2nd largest and finest brewer- SABMILLERSomehow people in many beer drinking countries prefer beer from small local brewers than the ones from multi-national brewers. Moreover, people's taste tend to change as they become aware of other options. Nwa Uga, thank me for bringing those forgotten beer brands to your mind. ![]() |
