Celebrity doctor and popular influencer, Dr. Olufunmilayo Ogunsanya, has just been vindicated and exonerated by UK’s Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service of allegation(s) of inappropriate conduct falsely leveled against him by his ex female friend, Dr. Bolanle Aseyan.
Dr. Olufunmilayo who had taken a temporary break from Twitter for personal reasons, had been dragged before the UK’s Metropolitan Police on false allegation of rape. He was cleared by the UK Police after investigation. The police found that the allegation were unsubstantiated.
Not done with her vindictive quest to bring down Dr. Funmi for rightly ending their relationship, his embittered ex girlfriend, Dr. Bolanle, filed a frivolous complaint with the General Medical Council (GMC) in 2020 against him in the hope that he will lose his practice license.
GMC referred the matter to the Medical Tribunal.
Today, 19th July, 2023, the Tribunal has announced their decision and determined that all the allegations made against Dr. Funmi have not been proved.
The Tribunal ruled that Dr. Funmi’s fitness to practice has not been impaired.
It is important to state that the standard of proof at the Tribunal which resulted in their findings was based on a balance of probability; and not proved beyond reasonable doubt. This is very significant because it shows that the allegation had no iota of merit or credibility.
This latest vindication of Funmi is a victory for all victims of false accusations of sexual misconduct.
As one of the lawyers to Funmi in Nigeria, I’m excited by the outcome of the case at the Medical Tribunal.
The false accuser, Dr. Bolanle Aseyan, is currently facing both civil and criminal lawsuits in Nigeria for her actions.
No one should have to go through what Funmi has ensured these past years. False rape allegations should never be trivialized. It is evil and despicable.
Funmi is doing well and he sends his regards to all those who have stood by him and believed in his innocence.
Like I have always said, history will vindicate the just.
It is pertinent to stress that Dr. Funmi has not only been exonerated of rape, he has also been exonerated of sexual abuse and emotional abuse falsely leveled against him by his ex.
My Take On How President Tinubu Can Jumpstart the Economy.
If I were President Tinubu, I would introduce some heavy killer taxes that will drive MTN, DSTV, and Shoprite out of Nigeria to be replaced by Nigerian-owned businesses.
Someone like Peter Obi can take over from Shoprite with his Next. Otunba Mike Adenuga can be supported to buy MTN Nigeria's assets. And why must we watch DSTV? Let us watch Arise. Channels, etc.
I will also invite Air Peace to Aso Rock and ask them to consider being Nigeria's national carrier. They can remain private but must change their name to Nigerian Air Peace. Once they agree, I will tax foreign airlines and give them a rebate, and within four years, they will overtake Ethiopian Airlines as Africa's biggest and most successful airline.
I will order the Central Bank of Nigeria to grant huge interest-free loans to Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company and order my industry minister to relocate to Nnewi to help them expand their facilities. Then I, as President, will use a bulletproof IVM car, and then place the mother of all taxes on foreign vehicles whilst banning any Ministry, Department, Agency or Parastatal of the Federal Government from using any other car except IVM.
I was a presidential spokesman, with access to the President. We were given economic data that shows how vulnerable Nigeria is to so called foreign investors. The money that leaves Nigeria through exploitative investments is more than the FDI that flows into Nigeria.
The largest source of foreign exchange into Nigeria are Nigerians in the diaspora. And to encourage them to send more money to Nigeria, I would suggest President Tinubu spearheads the initiative to give them the right to vote.
Finally, I will convene a National Economic Council meeting to appeal to the thirty six state Governors to give free land to any Nigerian citizen resident in their state for the sole purpose of farming, whether small or large scale agriculture.
Once you start your farm and the Ministry of Agriculture inspects it, you get free seeds and seedlings of your choice, free fertilisers, along with a grant of ₦250,000, which you will not need to repay, except you abandon your farm.
If we take these steps and others, the value of our Naira will skyrocket, and the Federal Government will immediately have the financial wherewithal to pay its workers a ₦75,000 monthly minimum wage.
Nigerian Army Foils International Ammunition Smuggling Syndicate, Intercepting Truck Bound for Anambra State
In a major operation, the Nigerian Army successfully intercepted an international ammunition smuggling syndicate en route to Anambra State. Conducting a meticulously planned stop and search operation along Ajilete-Owode Road in Yewa North LGA of Ogun State, troops of 192 Battalion apprehended a truck bearing plate number (ENU 697 XY). To their astonishment, the vehicle was loaded with a staggering haul: 720 cartons of Red Star cartridges, each containing 25 cartridges (amounting to 18,000 cartridges), along with 250 packets of live cartridges of pellet black (totaling 2,500 cartridges) of the same calibre.
The suspects, identified as Mr. Eric Seworvor, a Ghanaian citizen, and the driver, were arrested at the scene. Startling revelations emerged during the investigation, as it was revealed that the ammunition, meticulously concealed within an empty truck, had been transported from Mali via the Idiroko International Border.
According to the arrested suspects, their intended destination was Onitsha, Anambra State, where the exhibit was to be delivered to its owner. The timely intervention by the Nigerian Army has thwarted the potential chaos and violence that could have arisen from the illicit trade and use of these dangerous weapons.
This interception serves as a resounding testament to the Nigerian Army's commitment to safeguarding the nation's security and preventing the proliferation of illicit arms.
Yemi Adaramodu, spokesperson of the senate, says no member of the national assembly will receive any money from the N70 billion budgeted to “support their working conditions”.
In a statement on Sunday, Adaramodu said the fund is for purchase of furniture and to carry out repairs in lawmakers’ offices.
On Thursday, both chambers of the national assembly earmarked N70 billion for themselves in an amendment to the 2022 supplementary budget.
Many Nigerians criticised the appropriation owing to the fact that President Bola Tinubu sought and got approval to borrow $800 million to be distributed N8,000 each for 12 million households for six months in a bid to cushion the removal of subsidy on petroleum motor spirit (PMS).
The senate spokesperson said the claims that the budget was “padded” to accommodate the N70 billion are false, adding that the lawmakers only fulfilled their constitutional duty.
“Suffice to say that the passage is part of the absolute constitutional duty of the senate,” he said.
“We would therefore, not wish to join issues with the mischief and misrepresentation that a portion of the just passed Amendment Act that appropriated N70 billion naira was a ‘gift’ to the legislators.
“A visit to the suites, offices and the general structures of the National Assembly Complex would reveal a yawn and the need for exigent attention. Many senators had to bring their chairs, tables and electronics and in many cases, do sundry repairs.
“The much debated allocation will not be paid to any legislator. This will be managed by the national assembly bureaucracy. It’s pertinent to also note that the national assembly complex does not house only the legislators.
“There are thousands of workers and service providers whose working environment needs a face-lift, and/with necessary tools.
“Since the assembly complex is not owned by legislators who are merely political birds of passage, such allocation cannot be termed by anyone as a palliative to the legislators.
"The alleged padding of the palliative budget by the national assembly only exists in the minds of those who are all out to discredit the 10th assembly. There is nothing like padding as being alleged in some misinformed media outfits.”

A raid on a notorious drug joint in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State by operatives of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) turned tragic on Thursday when a two-year old boy, Ivan Omhonria, was shot dead.
His younger sibling, Eromonsele, is now gasping for breath at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Asaba as he was also hit by bullet.
Local sources said the victims were in their mother’s shop after school hours when they were hit by stray bullets.
A stray bullet was said to have brushed Eromonsele on the eye while Ivan was hit on his abdomen.
According to the locals, the victims were rushed to the FMC for surgery, adding that Ivan could not survive it.
State Commandant of the NDLEA, Mr. John Tunde confirmed the incident but insisted that his men did not open fire on the kids.
Tunde said when his men stormed the notorious drug joint to raid and dislodge the place, there was a Toyota Camry parked within the precincts.
He said while the operatives were surrounding the place, the Camry “ran over one of our men while escaping. And in attempts to demobilise the car, our men shot at it.
“What we cannot tell now is whether the children were inside the car at the time of the shooting. Our men did not open fire at any shop.
“As we speak now, our man who the car ran over, is at the Central Hospital in Ogwashi-Uku. Our attempt to stop the car was not successful as he escaped.
“So I can confirm that it happened but it is the true account that I have told you. We can’t be that unprofessional to open fire on a shop. I was at the hospital in the night with the father of the child. We are investigating it.”

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) says eleven electricity distribution companies (Disco) have filed an application for rate review with the commission.
A document released by the regulator on Friday titled: “Notice of Application for Rate Review By the Electricity Distribution Companies” said the request for rate review is premised on the need to incorporate changes in macroeconomic parameters and other factors affecting the quality of service, operations and sustainability of the companies.
“Pursuant to Section 116 (1) and 2(a&b) of the Electricity Act 2023 and other extant rules, the eleven (11) successor electricity distribution companies (“DisCos”) have filed an application for rate review with the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (“NERC” or the “Commission”).
“The request for rate review is premised on the need to incorporate changes in macroeconomic parameters and other factors affecting the quality of service, operations and sustainability of the companies,” the regulator said.
Accordingly, the commission invited the general public for comments on the rate review applications by the distribution licensees.
“Interested stakeholders are advised to review and take into consideration the excerpts of the Rate Review Applications filed with the Commission by the respective licensees. The applications can be accessed on the Commission’s website at www.nerc.gov.ng,” it said.
“As part of the rule-making process and in the exercise of the powers conferred by the Electricity Act, the Commission shall conduct a Rate Case Hearing on the applications prior to making a ruling.
“Any person wishing to participate in the proceedings as an intervenor should forward his/her application to tariff@nerc.gov.ng before the close of business on 20th July 2023.”
It listed the request to participate to include an explanation of the person’s interest in the proceeding and how the party would be affected by the outcome of the application; and a description of the party’s concerns, observations, comments and/or objections to the application.

A couple arriving from the US and heading to Ota, Ogun State had a brawl on the road with a soldier. According to reports, even from witnesses, the said soldier was driving recklessly and this couple had to caution him to be careful, lest he causes an accident…
The next thing was that he pursued them, overtook, jumped out of his car in a gestapo manner, asked the woman to open the car that he needs to “discipline” both of them. I have never seen this kind of horror before, happening especially to people who were just arriving Nigeria…
after their years of sojourn abroad. This is sickening. The @HQNigerianArmy must be compelled to look into this nonsense. Why would a soldier put lives in danger for hours, damage people’s car and threaten to kill, just because he was cautioned? What kind of society is this?
The couple remained calm in the car as seen in these videos, refused to open and the soilder, as if he’s under the influence of drugs, held on to their mirror, broke it, broke the window, smashed the body of the car.
Fuel consumptions: NMDPRA says daily truck out stands at 66.89 million litres Fuel Pump
The Auto-gas value chain is poised to experience increased activity following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s decision to remove fuel subsidies.
It is crucial, therefore, to explore the different avenues through which Nigerians and other investors can engage in this sub-sector and address the country’s energy demands.
During a webinar organized by the Nigeria Liquefied Petroleum Gas Association (NLPGA) on July 13, Engr. Busayo Fabunmi, the General Manager of Operations at Gas Terminaling and Distribution Limited, outlined nine key areas within the auto-gas value chain that are ripe for investment in Nigeria.
According to Fabunmi, given the substantial financial burden associated with conventional fuel/petrol, Nigerians will increasingly seek out alternative energy sources, with auto-gas emerging as a favourable option in the long run.
Recall that Nairametrics reported earlier that typical conversion costs for petrol vehicles are between N300,000 to N400,000 and tricycle conversion cost N100,000 to N200,000.
During his presentation at the webinar, Engr. Fabunmi shared opportunities in the auto-gas value chain that can contribute to Nigeria’s economic development.
The nine opportunities he shared include:
Suppliers/Manufacturers of kits, tanks and cylinders – These people ensure that increased demand for auto-gas is met by providing the necessary conversion kits and other accessories needed to convert internal combustion engines of cars and generators to auto-gas. They can set up local manufacturing plants to meet demand.
Marketers – This aspect of the market focuses only on ensuring that Nigerians are aware of the advantages of switching to auto-gas for their cars and generators. This is done by creating a buzz through social media to stimulate demand.
Spares sellers – According to Mr. Fabunmi, spare sellers are needed because as demand for auto-gas grows, people will need to change vehicle parts after conversion. They buy spares from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and sell them to those who do maintenance of vehicles post-conversion.
Financing (capital upfront) – The people in this space can supply the capital needed to stimulate demand and supply in the auto-gas value chain. They invest in the sub-sector and make returns when the sub-sector is fully activated.
Retrofitting (technical skills) – Those in this area will be trained technicians that have the skill to retrofit cars to run on auto-gas. They run conversion centres across the country, for this purpose
Dispensing (refuelling stations) – Some Nigerians are already gearing up to sell auto-gas and other natural gas variants to consumers who will be making the switch or have already done so. These operators are co-locating their auto-gas dispensing services alongside their already established fuel dispensing business.
Maintenance (calibration and servicing) – They are at the core of the value chain and can provide support and maintenance services for vehicles that have been converted to run-on gas. They can fine-tune engines post-conversion and recalibrate and replace conversion kits.
Trainers – These are people who have practical knowledge of how the conversion processes work and will be training the technicians on skill improvements because they are the ones who will carry out conversions for vehicles and maintain the vehicles for users.
Supply and storage – Those involved in supply and storage are experts at logistics and their work involves movement of auto-gas from depots or points of production to the points of sale. They can also decide to store auto-gas prior to when supply is needed.
What you should know
The president’s special adviser on energy, Ms Olu Verheijen, recently said that the Tinubu administration will prioritize gas development for domestic use.
Prior to this time, the country has already instituted the National Gas Expansion Programme (NGEP) which is focused on the use of various forms of natural gas (liquefied natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, compressed natural gas, etc) to meet energy demands in the country.
Max Air has reacted to the suspension of the operation of its Boeing 737 aircraft by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), saying the issue is being resolved.
The regulatory authority, through a letter NCAA/DG/AIR/11/16/363, suspended Parts A3 and D43 with regards to the operation of Max Air’s Boeing 737 aircraft type with immediate effect over safety infractions.
By implications, the airline’s domestic operations would be suspended pending when the suspension on the aircraft used for local flights was suspended.
The suspension was contained in a letter titled, “Suspension of parts A3 and D43 of the Operations Specifications” issued to Max Air with immediate effect issued July 12, 2023 and signed by Director, Operations Training & Licensing, Captain Ibrahim Bello Dambazau, for Director General of Civil Aviation, Capt. Musa Nuhu.
Speaking with Daily Trust, Executive Director of the airline, Barr. Shehu Wada, said the issue is being resolved and assured passengers especially those who have pending bookings with the airline not to panic.
He explained that the airline discovered that an adulterated fuel was sold to it and in line with its commitment to safety decided to carry out an in-house audit and suspend operation for two days before the NCAA waded in.
He said the issues which bother on safety would be resolved in less than a week, adding the airline remains committed to safe operations at all times.
“The fact is that there was the issue of adulterated fuel which we also noted. It was noticed by our maintenance. We now decided to give ourselves a two-day break to be able to audit ourself which the NCAA got the wind off.”
“That is the true story. So safety is our number one priority and we are looking at it. No body will joke with the life of anybody.”
Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command, at the wee hours of today, rescued a day-old female baby from a sewage tank in Gowon Estate, Lagos State.
The operatives have taken the baby to a medical health center and is doing well.
Aisha Yesufu, the co-founder of #BringBackOurGirls Movement, is being attacked by tweeps over the failure of the Labour Party candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi, to publicly detail how he spent his campaign donations.
Socio-political analyst, Kelvin Odanz called out Yesufu, a strong supporter of Labour Party and Obi over her tweet on the alleged rigging of the 2023 presidential election in favour of President Bola Tinubu and subsequent calls on opposition to withdraw their cases and support him.
The activist had written: "Hope you all can see with your own korokoro eyes that All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are the same. From their politicians to their sycophants.
"You don’t have to believe what I said about both in 2021. See it for yourselves. They are both oxygen wasting, transactional mindsets people!
Odanz, however, knocked Yesufu, saying: "Aisha, the Peter Obi you campaigned for was in PDP for 8 YEARS, leaving just 3 days to 2022 Primaries. Datti-Yusuf is Ex APC/PDP. Your DG Doyin Okupe is Ex PDP. PAT Utomi is Ex APC.
"You spent the entire campaign period begging for donations but forgot to beg God for sense and shame."
Yesufu replied, tweeting, "Normally you beg for what you don’t have.
"While you are at it also beg for courage, integrity and consistency. That way you don’t need to take flight like a coward at the first hint of heat."
The matter which started between Yesufu and Odanz has turned into back-and-forth attacks and tweets between the duo, with Hushpuppi in Hijab’ trending on the microblogging site, Twitter on Sunday after the latter used it to describe the former.
A Nigerian socialite and internet sensation, Ramon Abbas, better known as Hushpuppi is an international fraudster serving jail term in the United States.
In November 2022, Hushpuppi was sentenced to 11 years and three months in jail by the US Central District Court in California over fraud and money laundering.
He will however spend only nine years in prison as he had already spent two years in prison in the US.
Hushpuppi was in June 2020 arrested in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, over an extensive fraud scheme that has robbed victims of their money in the United Kingdom, US, Qatar, and other places.
He was extracted to the US where he was charged with fraud and money laundering. Hushpuppi pleaded guilty in April 2021 to one count of conspiracy to engage in money laundering with multiple people within and outside the US.
Ayodeji. S. Akerele, a supporter of President Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), attacked Yesufu, querying: "When are you accounting for the money you raised from Nigerians??
"Its okay to raise money through crowd funding but you must account for how it was spent. That's the right thing to do."
Another Twitter user, @AgronomistSeyi wrote: "You dey ask that emergency crossbag super cashivist to do the impossible."
Another Twitter user with account @Annurabubakar15, tweeted: "You didn't address the issues as raised, u ar campaigning for ex PDP and APC shamelessly though, And u kept on Talking and Criticizing them everyday do you think you are morally up right Madam it's about ur conscious and what you are claiming to represent.."
Yesufu however responded with: "Let me repeat what I had said, the rule of law means no one is above the law. Tinubu’s forgery and rigging are too dire for Nigeria to simply move on.
"What moral justification would we have to speak on forgery with a forger fraudulently occupying the number one political office?"
Odanz replied with the following tweet: "I didn't campaign for either Atiku or Tinubu. Not for one second. Don't belong to any party's WhatsApp group or attended any party's meeting.
"Unlike you that was begging for donations and went around dancing like a lunatic once credit alert hit your account. Hushpuppy in Hijab.”
Aisha hit back: "People like @MrOdanz are used to campaign funds from already looted public funds and find campaign fund raising alien.
"Let me repeat again, we must put our monies where our votes are. We must donate to those running for office otherwise we will continue to have those…"
@proudlyjoe then responded: "A nation where the rule of law is sacrosanct, no one should be above the law.
"Forgery & rigging are serious transgressions wit far-reaching consequences, & Nigeria can't afford to overlook them. How can we credibly condemn forgery when a forger holds the highest political office?"
However, on Twitter, Yesufu also posted the following among others in the back-and-forth she has been having with Odanz.
She tweeted, “Those who were shouting ‘You people cannot get one million votes. You are wasting your time’ are crying on my TL.
“Una just start the 50 years of wilderness.”
She also tweeted, “Let me repeat, APC and PDP are the same. Both their politicians and sycophants. Check those who are subtly telling you to let bygones be bygones since a forger that rigged election is occupying the presidential seat! Na their way.
“Nigerians are religious and moral when it comes to ordinary citizens but their religiosity and morality ends when it comes to public office holders.
“They want to monitor the lives of their fellow citizens but are cowards in the face of those that should be working for them.
“Let me repeat what I had said, the rule of law means no one is above the law. Tinubu’s forgery and rigging are too dire for Nigeria to simply move on. What moral justification would we have to speak on forgery with a forger fraudulently occupying the number one political office?
“I became an Active Citizen 2014 and you people still do not understand that I do not operate on the level of seeking validation?
“I am not interested in people liking me. I have enough love for myself.
“Infact the more you hate me the freer I am. I no send your papa, you no send me.
“I even shamelessly danced on credit before the credit alert sef. You are the one who is having sleepless nights on my behalf.
“@MrOdanz is this any way due to the fact that you ran like a castrated he goat when police attacked us during #Endsars? Are you still hung up on that?
“People like @MrOdanz are used to campaign funds from already looted public funds and find campaign fund raising alien.
“Let me repeat again, we must put our monies where our votes are. We must donate to those running for office otherwise we will continue to have those who looted our Nation dry perpetuate themselves or their stooges in office.”
Kelvin Odanz (@MrOdanz) also tweeted: “This lunatic has gone from accusing me of benefiting from campaign funds (I never participated in anyone's campaign) to now talking about a joke I made during endsars to stoke her bloated ego.
“Madam Aisha, stay away from drugs please. And stop the donation fraud too. Ki yi hakuri.
“You indeed look like someone with crack cocaine in her blood. Please take off that Hijab.”
Meanwhile, many tweeps have been knocking Yesufu with some describing her as a hypocrite.
For instance, Emma ik Umeh (Tcee ) (@emmaikumeh) said, “Aisha is a bloody hypocrite for saying Apc and Pdp are the same, was Peter Obi, not a member of the Pdp for 9 years? What changed? Aisha campaigned and supported Buhari. Hushpuppi in hijab.”
Vox-Populi (@akinculture01) tweeted, “She flew halfway across the globe with PO for free lol..like we don't know politics is a game of money and numbers.”
Some tweeps also mocked Yesufu over Odanz’s ‘Hushpuppi in hijab’ label.
Aniekan Ufot (@thethirdmiracle) tweeted, “Hushpuppy in Hijab?? Ah!! ”

Mother arrested after viral video shows Georgia girl being dragged by her hair, deputies say
BIBB COUNTY, Ga. — A video that went viral on social media ended with Georgia deputies arresting a mother on child cruelty charges.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office became aware of the video that shows a woman dragging a young girl by her hair through a yard. The woman is also seen hitting the child in the face.
Deputies confirmed that the woman was the girl’s mother and identified her as Samarria White.
The video was taken by a concerned neighbor whose children were playing at White’s home, according to the arrest report. The neighbor told deputies that White got mad and sent everyone home.
One of the neighbor’s children then saw White chasing after her daughter and that’s when the neighbor started recording.
According to the arrest report, deputies went to White’s home and asked her about the incident. Deputies said she denied dragging her daughter.
The child was taken to the hospital after redness on her chest started to bruise, according to the report.
Deputies booked White into the Bibb County Jail on cruelty to children in the first degree. Jail records show a $20,000 bond, but she remains in jail as of Friday morning.
