Bluezy13: I guess you missed a point.
The governors are suing the federal government for not taking the responsibility of funding the states' judiciary which includes expenses on furniture, building, cars, generators etc as directed by the 1999 Constitution but rather the federal government is only paying the judiciary staff salaries but allowing the states to fund the expenses instead since May, 1999 which is against the Constitution. Consequently, according to the governors, this unobligated funding affects their revenue allocations. Hence, they want the federal government to take up its responsibility of funding the judiciary and/or... continue from the mention up there.
Cc: Osamz007 So? Lets be clear here the issue isnt the deficit of funds with respect to "furniture, building, cars, generators etc as directed by the 1999 Constitution" The issue is that they wouldnt be in charge of Judiciary salaries and the power/influence that comes with it. If the federal govt turned around and said "ok we will pay the above and salaries" these guys would still look for an angle to complain. They are not bothered about the 1999 Constitution, they are bothered about having an independent judiciary having oversight over their looting.. Chai Nigerians and nonsense.. |

I think families in the East should orientate and tell their children that are traveling abroad to not be desperate for money and not be involved in shady deals. Funkybabee: I don't even understand, who can enlight me more Currently each state governor controls the budget for the judiciary (judges) in his or her state. Buhari wants this to change, with the judiciary having its own federally allocated budget. This money would have previously gone directly to the state governor. The greedy state governors do not want this for two main reasons.. 1. Less money to steal as the money will go the judicirary directly and not via them. 2. The judiciary would instantly become more independent and powerful. A judge who isn't paid by the state governor is more likely to take action against a greedy and corrupt state governor. In the past a state governor would threaten a judge with taking away his or her salary to get compliance. What is shameful is how APC and PDP governors were quick to take action together to stop this change.. Their only reason is greed. It shows the whole political class in Nigeria is corrupt.. |

Righteousness89: Kuwait’s 91-year-old Emir Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah died on Tuesday in a hospital in the United States.
“With great sadness and sorrow, we mourn … the death of Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, emir of the State of Kuwait,” said Sheikh Ali Jarrah al-Sabah, the minister in charge of royal affairs, in a television broadcast.
Born in 1929, Sheikh Sabah is widely regarded as the architect of modern Kuwait’s foreign policy – having served as foreign minister for nearly 40 years between 1963 and 2003 – when he became prime minister.
He became Kuwait’s emir in January 2006 after the death of Sheikh Jaber al-Sabah

Coronabirus: no single project is completed among those u mentioned. Kano-abuja isn't upto 20%, Kano-katsina was awarded by Yaradua and activated by PMB, only kaduna-abua rail is completed I would wager that you hail from the North or have sympathies for that region. The fact is the scale of investment in the South East is miniscule versus the current scale of investment in the North. You are being very disengenuous to even pretend Buhari has invested in all regions of Nigeria equally. He said as much himself, to paraphrase him "why should I invest in the South East when they never vote for me?". Look if lopsided investment like this continues, Nigeria will break up. Was it not Buhari who stated that most aid should be directed at Maidgaduri and not other regions, what kind of message does that send?? |

Rehabilitation of Sections 1 to 4 of the Enugu — Port Harcourt Expressway (Sukuk Bond) (ongoing) Picture1: Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, Section 1 (Lokpanta-Umuahia Tower, Umuahia) 2. Rehabilitation of Amansea–Enugu Border section of Onitsha-Enugu Expressway (Sukuk Bond) (ongoing) 3. Rehabilitation of 18km critical stretch of Onitsha–Awka Road (ongoing) 4. Construction of Second Niger Bridge: Completion of design of the Approach Roads from Onitsha and Asaba. 5. Rehabilitation of Arochukwu–Ohafia–Bende Road (ongoing) 6. Ariaria Market Electrification Project 7. Federal Government’s Energizing Education Programme being implemented in Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo, Ebonyi; and Nnamdi Azikwe University — Awka Campus, Anambra. 8. Completed Ikot Ekpene — Alaoji — Ugwuaji Switching Station and Transmission Line 9. Construction of Modern Medical Diagnostic Centre at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia (FMCU) (ongoing) 10. Completed Nnamdi Azikiwe Mausoleum (contract originally awarded in 1996, abandoned at various times, Buhari Administration revived the project in 2016, and completed it in 2018). 11. Enyimba City Special Economic Zone: Definitive Agreements signed between Federal Government, Abia State Government and Enyimba City Development Company Limited on December 7, 2018 12. Presidential Fertilizer Initiative — has led to the revival of the Ebonyi State Fertiliser and Chemical Company Limited (EFCCL), creating jobs and boosting the supply of fertilizer in the Southeast. 13. Social Investment Programme : 68,000 N-Power Beneficiaries across the 5 States of the South East; the School Feeding Programme has kicked off in all 5 States of the Southeast. 14. Pensions paid to Retired War-Affected (Ex-Biafran) Police : In 2017, the Buhari Administration paid 500 million Naira to clear pensions arrears that had not been paid since their presidential pardon in 2000. My Brother, you and I know Nigeria well. There is a big difference between proposed projects and completed ones in this country. ModestGal: I expect nothing good from a generation that destroyed my generation. They are the generation that enjoyed the good Nigeria, they got job after university, not being told to go and learn TAILORING or MAKE-UP after Masters degree, they had the oppourtunity to venture into business if they don't want to work with the government, all they need to do is resign after saving some amounts of money from the job, at INTERNATIONAL FORUMS, they are proud to be called a Nigerian, because of the likes of RASHIDI YEKINI and other Sport Celebrity of the time that had talents and was able to play for their country without an idiot with no talent taking their position due to corruption. Check the sport sector, you will understand why we may never win any world game again due to the corruption of those incharge of sport, and treating sport players with injustice. Or how will someone who drank Garrison and borrowed money to finish University have money to start business? Or how will he see laptop to learn computer skills?
They are the generation that instilled useless teachings that would never make us rich on the new generation. They are the Tribalistic bigots, religious bigots, they worshipped anything white. Their life is filled with superstitious beliefs, using prayers in awkward ways.
Does it make sense to be selling Road safety form at #1miilion naira, and putting prices on federal Government Job?All these useless elders watch this happen and there is even a respected elder that Federal Government do give two slots, and he sells it for 2.5millionaira to an Hausa man who will go give it to his people for free for reelection.
This so called elders generation has done absolutely NOTHING for the good of my generation, so I do not expect anything of Value from them.
As far as Nigeria is concerned, as at this point, I really do not know the point of keeping it, every Nigerian is unhappy except those benefiting from the corruption. Nigerians are not proud to be called Nigerians, an average Nigerian curse the country and expect the worse from all corners. So what's the point of keeping Nigeria as one?
The people do not see themselves as one and are not ever ready to see themselves as one, so what's the point of forcing the people for over 60years and yet, they do not want to become one?
What's the point of practising different laws in the South and North, but yet you want to call them a single country
What's the point of forcing people who hate themselves as one?
Well, as far as I'm concerned, there's no benefit an average Nigerian feels about being a Nigerian, so what's the point of still wanting to be a Nigerian?
The OLD generation have done nothing to better the NIGERIA they want so much, and everything is in a catastrophic state because of them and yet, they still want to keep it as Nigeria? No, it doesn't work that way.
We all need to be sincere with ourselves, what is the joy as a Nigerian that we would love to continue to keep?
I will always support one Nigeria when the Youths are happy being a Nigerian, not when an average youth is wishing and praying to travel out even if it is to Ghana, they just want to leave, but if not, I do not see the point
As at this point I'm almost not caring anymore, because truth is, I'm not proud to be called a Nigerian, because Nigeria is synonymous to Fraud, Killings, and Poverty.
So let's do it this way, support One Nigeria, if you are happy as a Nigerian. Gbam, this is why when I am told to respect my elders I simply mtcheww... These elders are responsible for the creation of the mess that is the Nigeria. In truth Nigerians brought this on themselves with bad election choices.. I was against Buhari from day 1. But people told me I was being tribalist. I said the man was an authoritarian leader and hails from the North. He has also made statements that make me question his loyalties to anyone outside of the Arewa region. What we have seen has been a nepotistic leader who has completely run Nigeria for the north. This has caused a lot of resentment in the South and rightfully so. The South East has completely switched off and are sadly simply waiting to leave. The South West has finally seen the domination of the Fulani elite. Say what you like about Jonathan, at least he tried to rule as the leader of one nation. Buhari has not even pretended to care about the South... All funds have flowed to the North along with infrastructure and recent development. If this type of rule continues, then I agree Nigeria will break.. In fact I think the Fulani are already expecting it, that is why they are borrowing like there is no tomorrow and trying to ready their region for a post Nigeria world. Gas project in the Arewa region and now a seeming pointless railway line to Niger?? |

Coronabirus: Before boarder closure most of the foreign rice, mineral oil we consume are from Niger Republic. Donkeys, and other domestic animals are being imported to balance meat demand in the nation. Dawanau food stuff market in Kano is the largest in Africa and foodstuffs like seasame, groundnut, soyabeans, millet are exported in large quantity from Kano to Niger, Libya, Morocco and many other African countries. Nigerian food business provide citizens with more than $70b annually far more than oil, oil is more important for foreign exchange to government and foreign business. The problem with us in Nigeria is we hate to see others develop, we're so selfish indeed! No the issue is that so far during Buhari's tenure we have only seen infrastructure development for the North. If you don't believe me, take a deeper look at all the people around you (if you live in Nigeria), in government, on the street, motorists, those you pay to get simple stuffs done for you -- hell, even family members and friends! Sadly you are right. In the past I used to be very much against this viewpoint. But like yourself I have seen too many things that have changed my mind. People saluting thieves in the belief that one day they will get their turn or the recent election where Nigerians voted in a failure for the second time..?? People asking for payment for all sorts of weird things, a guy opening the gate at the National museum asked for additional payment. Sadly I gave up on Nigeria due to Buhari and won’t return until the country changes significantly. I think Arewa Fulani dominance of the political system needs to end for starters. |
