Currently all economic data shows that compared to the north the south is on average :

wealthier than the north
has higher levels of literacy
higher levels of female participation in the workforce
a better educated population
lower levels of violence (banditry or religious violence)
More meritocratic

So in short, I dont think it is conjecture that we would be better off without you lot.

Despite your weak attempt to claim the south would be fighting each other, evidence for that is weak. A huge amount of Igbos live peacefully in Lagos for example.

They do not suffer from regular pogroms like in the North where some of their number are needlessly massacred every few years by Northerners for no apparent reason.

Also you do realise you are speaking to a man who is half igbo and half yoruba. Southern peoples can resolve their issues with discussion.

Generator bill is the only sensible one there. To develop we need to take drastic action taken otherwise 10years from now we will be having the same problem.
We have a few years before countries stop combustion engine production. European countries will stop producing generators. But the countries producing them don't use it. They are going to use the financial opportunity of these to weak our chances of developing our energy so that we keep depending on them.
We can spend money on other sources of energy like solar, there are intelligent Nigerians out there developing better cheap sources of energy we are not supporting. States are supposed to spend money on research and installation of solar in schools and hospitals. We should look at noise pollution and air pollution these generators cause and the health impacts in our lives.

FFK has money to fly to UK for care do we all have that NO. My argument might not make sense now but look at the future opportunity.

I agree the generator ban is the only one I dont have a problem with..

Firstly due to the low level of economic development of most African economies, the carbon footprint and resource usage of the average African is very low compared to a European, American and increasingly Asian populations.

Two due to the significant size and resources on our great continent, even if the average African was resource wasteful like European, we actually have the natural resources to sustain such lifestyles. There is a reason why whites with companies like Glencore abound on our continent or the Chinese are here in droves, they need our plentiful resources.

We are the only continent that can sustain a significant population increase. The only concern facing African countries and Nigeria in particular is poor leadership.

The flows to Europe from Africa is also partly a western creation. How do most Africans get to Europe? via Libya. Who bombed Gaddafi into oblivion? The west did. What they didnt realise was that he stemmed the flow of Africans into Europe, employing black africans in the millions as he was a pan africanist. They removed him and there was no buffer to stop people entering Europe.

Also after the Gaddafi regime was destroyed, weapons from that country flowed into every unstable region in African. Including into the hands of largely Kanuri who fought for Boko Haram.

Please learn the facts before talking about issues you dont understand.

As for the north yes it is a regressive region, but the rest of Nigeria is finally waking up to that fact..

That is exactly what a pandemic entails. That is why stockmarkets around the globe are falling. It means everything becomes more difficult and economic activity stops as people stay indoors. As we speak huge parts of China are shutdown, there is no production occurring at all. Trade is instead done at arms length. In Britain quarantined people are made to stay in special facilities and only food is allowed in and out!!!

We should have prepared for this as others posters said. We didn't and instead we still kept allowing foreigners to come to our shores and they have brought this disease with them. Russia by contrast immediately shut its border with China and as yet has no cases. That is what a leader who cares for his own people does.
