Guys, I’ve been offline for couple of weeks, this is my first trip today and I noticed this. What the f is booking fee?

I’m shooting a message to bolt asap but before they reply, has anyone noticed this?
Probably the ₦20 road tax per trip LASG demands from them. you pay 80% and they contribute 20%.

I.e on every trip, they deduct ₦16 from your balance.

people who sleeps on the streets don't like either but it's just what it is.

How does the drivers who lives in ikorodu and MOWE axis cope with the level of traffic on the roads?
1k fuel will take anyone back to his home from 10pm upwards, it's always a moving traffic.
Some drivers can't spare 1k.but rather pay MIB.

resale value of corolla na scam.

A Tokunbo corolla is 2.6. Nigerian used is 1.5

900 minus

Tokunbo Mazda6/Mazda3 Is 1.6 Nigerian used is 850k

750 minus.

Who really lose?
That price you quoted is current market price.

As of August 2020. Corolla 2006 toks was bought at 1.8m.

Currently naija used corolla 2006 grade is 1.3/1.45m. These are the ones they bought Probably 1.7 0r 1.8m and not 2.2m plus.

Give reasons...
Have you seen the Great wall and Geely cars that were bought brand new 4 or 5years ago and used as marketing and operations cars in companies today?

Sentiments apart, I will pick a standard Tokunbo 2006 Toyota Corolla over a brand new Innoson Connect.

Reasons: quality, durability, availability of spare parts, tested and trusted
That 2006 corolla is a beast. It can take a beating anyday. The resale value is unbelievable.

For newbies.

Don't drop anyhow along Uba marina. Traffic has been diverted from Takwa Bay axis, so more prey for the lastma guys.

Today I witnessed nabbing of 3 cars within 15mins ( 2 corollas and 1 civic).

Safe points to drop.
a. Oando filling Station
b. Car park ( rider pays ₦500 or worst-case you split payment ₦250 a piece)

Don't even allow them to drop on the road. The things an average yellow danfo or white Cms korope will get away with, if you do it, na Sura straight.

Reminds me of the riders that don't want to pay ₦100 gate fee to enter Wuse market.

This racket is not for dumbos. Think like a manager, will you take a trip of 1,500- 3000 to pay 15- 25k to Cbd and lastma.

A single ₦500 note car park will save you from unnecessary trouble.

And if you are like me, I don't like complicated. Avoid Marina, simple. There will be other trips.

Let’s pray not to have police problems in Nigeria. If driver jappa to Ibadan or ikorodu for 6months and return to Lagos case close ooh.
They will only say the case has been reported in police station.
Unless ur rider na Fulani dey will track u down.
It's a big problem for the app, their brand is at stake. Safety is one of the biggest USP for Bolt and Uber. That's what differentiates them from Nurtw n Co.

If you are a newbie. I will advice you avoid Oworonshoki. Reason.. One way roads without signs. The MIB feed fat on victims there.

If you are a member of the landlord association or community development in Oworonshoki, and you are here, then your association is not doing much. A wooden sign affixed to a nepa pole will suffice.

Oba ogunji flyover,Agege. ALERT

If you climb the flyover descending towards capitol road. . Watch out for this two things. Regardless of what Gmap says.

There are two divides on that road immediately you descend the Ogunji flyover. (heading towards Capitol road, old iyana ipaja road axis)

1. If you are making a U turn back to ikeja/akilo/wemco/berger. You must keep to your left.

2. If you are going towards agege post office,(on the left side of the road) capitol road, Alfa nla road. Make sure you keep to the right side of the divide.

Pitfalls to watch for.

1. If you are on the left side of the divide, when you are on green. you can only make a U turn. DONT TURN LEFT.
Peradventure you find yourself in that situation, Just make a U turn and keep right again at the next junction.it will lead you back to where you are going.

2. If you are on the right side of the divide. When you are on green, you can only turn LEFT or move straight ahead. DO NOT make a U TURN.

Lastma and the MIB hang around innocently, patiently waiting for the next victim.

I was around one of those estates around Oko oba last year on a Sunday.

Rider was going to onipanu. He booked for Uber, according to him, driver was at Iyana-ipaja.
So he booked on Bolt, n I showed up sharply cos trip was on surge grin

He appeared not to be a regular user of the app. So I told him

Me: "Sir, are you aware that this trip is a surge trip

Rider : what do you mean?

Me: it means prices will be higher.

Rider: Uber was showing 1,700. In my mind" I'm like from here to Onipanu embarassed
shocked

Me: Sir, this is Bolt o not Uber, should I start or you will wait for the Uber guy.

Rider: please, let's go.

Trip ended,Bolt fare was ₦3,500.Rider payed as against 1700 from Uber.

Sadly , the other guy ( if he was a rookie grin would have blown empty all the way from Iyana - ipaja to oko oba for a trip of 1700. embarassed

Bolt understands the Nigerian perspective. On Sundays and festive periods ,across all the ethnic /religious spheres, people tend to rest at home and felicitate with their loved ones.

So the only motivation to draw people out to drive on a such days is an incentive of higher earnings via surge.
The Californian guys are still trying to figure it out.

So Abuja too is stewing, 2 days 45k cash that is definitely an ant. Bolt has finally taken over the market.
This is the second time a rider is telling me that bolt is more expensive than Uber, that the Uber she order is showing 15minutes to arrive and later canceled only to request again and it says no vehicle.
For now if you are not driving on bolt you are missing.

I pity drivers who lost their cars to flood.
Sorry guys quickly repair your car.

Baba, Bolt has always been the deal. Bolt bills better, that's why they have more drivers.

The audacity with which surge is set in the evenings coupled with the large discounts they give riders, Omo, after a surge trip, some riders get as high as ₦1,600 cash discount.
Right now, Bolt is the only app with a good command of both riders and drivers.

Any serious driver that wants good returns on his inputs vis a vis time on the road and energy should never overlook the Bolt app. Throughout this week, cashout.

Indriver kept beeping on Tue&Wed., I didn't even bother to check.

Mehn, Bolt is on a new level . The app experience is fantastic.

A rider that did fake alert since July 4th. called me on the 18th that I should send my account number. grin I had even written off the ₦1,500 sef.

Omo, if one can put in the time, Bolt will put you on earnings an average Lagosian will always dream of....

Uber has invited me for a physical roundtable discussion on how to improve their app and driving experience on their platform. I already have my list of prayers for them which include

1. Display of rider's destination (riders believe we see it, but I tell them it's only on bolt)

2. Recruitment of more partners to reduce incidences of long pickups ( today I was around adekunle and got a trip from uba building)

3. Penalizing riders who request and fail to answer their calls. You can't slide arrived on Uber you need drive down to PU

4. Rider verification

5. Reduction of commission to 15 or 20% and regular promo for riders.

Pls, feel free to add yours so as to present it tommorow. Thanks
I can't be eating Bolt pounded yam, then someone is calling me to leave that sumptuous meal for garri. It won't happen.

I know some of their agents are here, I remember when I shared a tip of checking surge without checking the app. When I tried it few weeks back, Uber has removed their portion, prior to that declaration, it used to be there on Gmap. grin Or is it my phone, huhthat's one hell of a coincidence sha.

Bolt as finally finished the business.

I updated my app and bolt are owning me 20k+ They have options of early cashout.

What does it means?

You can request to transfer your money before due date which is always Monday.

Thank you BOLT
Bolt, the undisputed king of ehailing apps.

The moment you taste Bolt, you won't want to go back to any other app.

The grind this week has been easy peasy. No stress whatsoever. And the cheddar is rolling in.

They now control the market, I mean the audacity with which they set surge across mainland on Tuesday & Wednesday was epic.

Any trip na surge. Even riders were asking me. What's wrong, why is it so high? . I'm like today is Sallah now grin

With weekly remittance of 40k, I dont see how the income is threaten because a driver make these within 2 days conveniently.

Only selfishness and entitlement mentality of drivers is the reason why someone will be suggesting 25k weekly for a tokunbo car.
Do you drive or you are assuming like those who see dashboards.?

Cos without surge, I don't think you can do 40k conveniently in 2 days.
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by northbird: 12:27pm On Jul 18, 2021
The most important factor in the mix is the driver. A God fearing driver. Someone who has empathy.

If you have a car and you are lucky to get that kind of driver. Good one.

But honestly, even @30k weekly, the deal favours the driver.

I have maintained it, there's no way in the world, I will put 2.5 million to buy a car n put on Uber.
There are better businesses with good ROI without the added pressure of managing a driver.

Sir, being good does not automatically translate to success. EOD
No one is talking about being good. Being Faithful to a cause and backing it up with actions.

For instance, after church service on Sunday. By 12 noon. I hit the road. My neighbor will be like "Are you not resting, today is Sunday , ojo isinmi things? My rest day is one of the weekdays.
I just laugh, that's religious dogma. Sunday is one of the best days to drive in Lagos.

Yet, the same people will watch premiership being played by another group of people (thousands of miles) on a Sunday too.

Lol

If a driver works hard, saves and is determined to buy a car, he will buy it.

This is the basic formula, Baba mi grin

If he likes he should drive the partner's car at 20km/h, avoid flooded areas and bad road. If he doesn't save up and is determined to own his own car, he will not achieve it.

grin
You still don't get it. If you are faithful /committed to that rent, definitely the car is coming

Faith is evidenced by works/actions . Whatever is required.
