@ obinoral. What I'm saying is most debtors don't have empathy. That money given to a prospective borrower is someone's deposit.
I mean a lot of people borrow for just anything. One of my former colleagues took a loan then based on salary account in 2014. 750k or thereabout, you know that's a lot of money in 2014.
You know what he did with d money? He got a bigger apartment n upgraded furniture n all. I'm not sure the debt was paid.
So any bank must be really sure you are credit worthy before they give you a loan. |

Felicity001: Guy stop all these your literate and lingual analytical behavior and pray not to encounter problem or find yourself in dare need or desperation because by then you would understand say English no dey solve problem but money does.
Where were you when I was in dare need of that same 100k? Why didn't you dial your GT code or assist from your savings?
You're here talking down someone's business like you have a better and easy offer for prospective people.
Do you have an idea how much those loan app charges at all? No matter what you can't even get a 100k loan from any of them for the 1st time so what's the need collecting a money that won't solve your problem in the 1st place? As far as I know that guy has a good offer only that the terms and maybe if I have to add, it's business location will scare customers away because many people don't have good collateral and no one wants more trouble than they already had.
So stop speaking English instead talk from life experience.
The class room is different from the field. We don't pray for problems that will make us borrow. However, the bolded shows you have an overbloated sense of entitlement. What's wrong with you.? You think you are d only person with probs. Grow up. |

VERY good bank. The problem is the attitude of Nigerians. A lot of people have no honour. They don't honour agreements. If one takes a loan, one must do everything to make sure the loan is repayed. |

deedee44: I think it's still okay. If I understand the post correctly, you can borrow 100k today and pay back tomorrow with interest of just N600 so the longer it takes to repay the higher the interest. Besides it's not everybody that qualifies for GT loan and many of those that qualify won't get up to 100k Who borrows to repay next day?. From his analogy. At least 22 working days. That's 13,200 on just ₦100,000. Haba now. In a year that's over ₦150,000 interest on just ₦100,000. As per GT, it's your cash flow that determines your loan. If I need 500k from them, na just to dial code. But what for, when I could actually save up. The most important aspect of a loan r d terms. Which biz will pay interest of over 13% MONTHLY. Even the banks regarded as shylock won't ask more than 20-22% yearly. |

Is the 07 civic not advisable also, I've been seeing some at the range of 1.1, 1.2million and above on jiji Forget scanner. The issues in a Naija used vehicle won't precipitate until you start driving it. Take a trusted mechanic along. My advice: buy a tokunbo corolla. Don't buy lemon car o. Or accidented car that is packaged as tokunbo.
In 24 months, if you are disciplined, you should be done with the payment. Even after 24 months, your corolla will still be in very good form. Trust me on this.

With 500k, there are businesses that will return 75-85k monthly. That's an average of 15% monthly. Just with 500k. Uber rent mode can't give you 15% monthly. You can take this analysis to the bank. ndubuisi2021: £150,000 is more than a hundred million Naira. That's a lot of investable funds that can be well utilized. Uber should not even cross your mind at this point. By the time you purchase 10-15 cars for ehailing two third of your hard earned savings is gone for sure. With this type of money, one should be thinking of a business with a proper stay, a name and a face to it not ehailing that will distract you, big time. Except you want to do freebies with your hard earned money
Uber should be a means to an end, It should be dropped at some point. Either as a driver or a fleet owner, none comes easy in terms of management from a Nigerian perspective. It's not worth it. VERY true. ROI from Uber is not worth it. Millions on cars to be collecting pittance week in week out. Terrible roads. |

Career › Re: I Want To Quit My Teaching Job: Advice Needed by northbird: 12:06pm On Oct 14, 2021 |
Spark2: Hi guys, I trust this meets you well? I am 25 years old, I'd soon be 26. I'm a graduate, I served in Kano and stayed back after service doing a teaching job. I am paid 35, 000 naira per month. The 35k finishes on transportation and feeding even before the month ends.
I started learning a skill in tech about a year and half ago, I've gained some confidence already in web development, I can call my self a Front-End Developer now with some knowledge of back end development... I have made up my mind to keep learning everyday. I have a dream of going fully into tech and at this point in my life, I need a job that will offer me the opportunity to learn what I'm personally interested in. I want to work in a team that will help me to grow, not a teaching job where I am overworked and get home tired everyday and have little time to code.
After sitting and considering all these, I made up my mind to resign my teaching Job by the end of December. I'm going back to my hometown (a state in the North central) where I hope to go down to Abuja in search of a better life or better still if I get one in my state.
The thing is that I'd need to take this bold step now while I'm still a bachelor before I get married and unable to.
I understand that it is a hard decision to take, but if I let fear hold me down here, Many years will pass and I will be here held by fear. A colleague shared his story with me, that he was afraid of leaving and for him, it's 11 years now teaching and he is still struggling. He's married and it's now difficult to take any step as such.
I need advice, if possible share your experiences so that I will learn.
Thank you very much Learn a design skill that is applicable to the construction industry if you r heading to Abuja. You are better off as a freelancer than looking for a private salaried work in Abj. You said you can call yourself a front end guy. How many websites do you have in your portfolio? Because that's what basically sells your brand, and if you are to rate them objectively, ( assume it wasn't your work), will it fly with you.
My advice: improve more on your skill - set as a web developer, there are opportunities, but for a newbie,to enter the industry, you must come in with a BANG, projects that will make people check out for you.I don't mean run of the mill web guys who just use WordPress n think they could call themselves web developers. Goodluck. |

SHOOPSYN: I doubt if Lastaman don't orchestrate traffic is some part of Lagos. Especially junctions where there is traffic light. Some junctions with traffic light are usually free, but with the presence of lastman, traffic build up. I passed through Oba Akran(Asbestos bus stop), with the presence of police and lastman, I thought the governor wants pass through that route, about 7 lastman,5 police, 2lastman bikes, 5police bikes, and special Korope parked in strategic location, all at alert to catch what fIsh. Causing unecessary traffic. Just recently, the way traffic build up coming Ikeja to Guinness is unbecoming. Someone said lastman bike men are even dragging the" business" with police bikes ... Anyway, be more watchful guys, we can't make 1M a month and police and lastman want to collect 500k The men appear to be redundant, why do they always loiter around Guinness /oba Akran. There are other junctions where they could all be posted to and put themselves to good use. They all refuse, preffering to wear the toga of special status ( task force bla bla). No training, apart from the reflective jackets they wear. To cap it all, from my POV, their presence has no tangible effect on the traffic, it's still the same traffic. Typical Civil service servants in full display. Drawing from state coffers without tangible /measurable contribution to the society. |
