InfinityEstates: I don't know if Bolt users are charged for cancellation. I've never gotten any cancellation fee. Can anyone confirm if Bolt users are charged? No I don't think so, that's y a lot of riders cancel anyhow. No penalties. When I was using uber back then, I got to PU. I had waited for lyk 2.40 mins or 3 mins not sure. But I know its not up to 5 mins. The rider cancelled n I just got a notice that I HV #300 fee, made a grin n moved off. Few seconds later rider began calling me, ( maybe he/she got a debit notice) probably he/she thought it was d usual bolt app where you just cancel @ will. The cancellation fee dey make uber riders serious sha. . |

Some riders are very considerate n thoughtful.
Once you pick their request, they call n give you the closest landmark vis a vis the route you are using to approach.
Some just assume you should know. Saying" Oga follow your map." Lagos alone has over 9,000 roads.
At times the map sef acts up. |

Felicity0001: Last week I went there it was by miracle I got a trip back and it was very dramatic.
Took some boys from ikeja to magoro, thank God the turn back to berger was just like 200m away under a bridge. A request with Ketu destination entered just as I was about entering the express. PUD 5.4km, (I'd rather do it than blow empty back to berger with the traffic) Called rider immediately but the description wasn't clear enough so I decided to used the map not knowing the dude is among the geng that doesn't know how to set PU location when making a request. 1.4km to PUL road was bad I dexides to atop, called rider to meet me up because I can't continue again. Rider said ok. Few minutes later dude called, after asking from people nearby we discovered I was at the wrong location while rider was at Arepo bus stop. Chai!!! GMap was saying 10km to PU...oboy!!! Instead of me ti cancel at that point my sense didnt interpret to me na so one of the guys that directed me offered to take me there on his bike. Dude was following up on the phone(that was my only motivation).
Las las we arrived at Arepo b/s only to find out say na the guy babe dey go in the trip. The stupid girl has already jump into back seat.
Babe: you kept us in the sun waiting all these time when u know u r not... Bla bla bla
Bikeman: Na here be the place Bros
Dude: Do you accept transfer?
Me: already wind down trying to thank the bikeman while trying to explain to dude he make a mistake on his request, seeing he wasn't even interested in that, I switched attention to the bikeman, Egbun mi how much make I pay na,
Bikeman: Anything way enter you mind
Dude was still asking about transfer, his babe was there saying things, all of these events happended within about 30secs, my blood pressure I'm sure had gone above the normal because I was already exasperated.
The one that blow my fuse was when, as I ask dude to settled the bikeman because he didn't put d right PU address, the next tin was his gf said on whose bill?
Dude supportes by saying I'm not paying any bikeman you re supposed to pick me up from my location.
Me: You know what? I'm not going on this trip afain. I gave the bikeman N200. Cancel trip, pls step out of my car.
At this point dude was vibrating saying every words that came out of his mouth..
To be continued... Abeg finish d story. |

ephbe: Hello Guys,
Your advises are needed. A family member wants to go into transportation however, he is thinking of getting the 18 Seater Danfo bus considering that demand in Lagos is high or will be by the time everything becomes normal again since Okada and Keke have been banned on major roads.
My question: 1. Do you think, if properly managed, it can yield good returns (It will be on HP plan). He will use ehailing model with the trackers and weekly inspection process since it will be tokunboh
2. Does anyone know how much 18 seater buses deliver weekly? The model of the best version of bus would really help
3. Any idea on how much it costs to get one.
4. Is it cheaper to buy from Naija or outside the country, cotonou perhaps?
5. Please any addition will go a long way
Thanks in anticipation Go to Oshodi park. After the terminal. Oshodi - Ajah. Before Coro was #500. 18 seater. Cos that's the only route that looks like travelling, WC is wat d hiace n Mitsubishi engines like. Stop counting eggs before dy hatch ( #9,000 per trip. ) cos a huge chunk of that cheese is taken as loading fees by Nurtw guys. So visit there n ask how dey do it , registration, membership, dues n co n get the trade secrets from them. |

chinyce: What about buying a naija used, change the engine to a tokumbo engine and gear. But the body remains the same. Will it serve well for ehailing? Just asking.
Because investing over N1.8m on tokumbo for ehailing right now is at high risk. When will you recover your capital. Yes, that's another option. But it had better be toks engine n not d one dy washed n kept. Don't trust dose mushin guys. Or perhaps go thru your trusted mechanic. NB: if I had 1.7 million cash wt me, I CAN NEVER use it to buy a car for ehailing... NEVER.... Rite now even Korope has a better ROI than uber biz. Forget all that nonsense Dashboard earnings. ROI on uber from an investor's perspective is not sustainable. 1.8 million car for trips of #1,500- 2,000. D advice given to "lebrandt", if there are no oda options. How can I use my money to buy stress. There are way less stressful biz to engage in if you have that kind of money. |

Cos for me to buy 9js used 800k and spend 200k on top o beta just buy toks and spend small money If you are able to save and buy a Toks. My broda, go that route. Don't let anybody sweet talk you into buying any used vehicle. If you are a newbie to car issues. n you go n sink 800k on a dead car for ehailing. My broda, Lagos mechanics will show you pepper. What's 200k on repairs! Unless, there are no other options, if you want to do ehailing, getting a toks is d safest option. |

But trust me, the day a new app comes on board esp. guys in d Lyft category. bolt and uber will sit up, a lot of riders use uber cos fares are lower. Intact, most riders have the two apps n dey compare prices. Was coming from Ibadan one evening, n on getting to Mowe, a lady sitting directly in the front seat was trying to book a ride. Destination. Ajah. PU. Berger. She tried bolt estimate 5,800-6,200 Uber est.4,800- 5,000. Sharply ,she closed the Bolt app. n used Uber. I'm lyk that's a journey wt intense traffic of over 2hrs n trip go end you wud see 3,500. Seriously uber drivers r trying. |

NYCnextStop: Manner of approach bawo... asslicking riders you mean, when it’s not children you are carrying.
As adults they should know the right thing to do. It’s just the Nigerian mentality where the next person wants to feel smarter or superior. It’s good to inculcate disciple in these riders in our little ways. Very correct bro. I mean these are riders that don't dare misbehave in a public transit even BRT , but on ehailing, they just lose basic decorum. |

Basically, d symptoms is while driving or accelerating after lyk 40-50 mins of driving, There is a loss of power, speed reduces ,i keep pressing d gas pedal, but speed does not increase. My opinion 15% commission after 20 trips is not really motivating. Cos even @ 5% commission at d end of the week, d extra top up ain't more than #2,500. Once I hit d required / acceptable income daily, I head back home. Hypothetical scenario. 20 trips @ #1,500 each @ 80% - #24,000 25 trips@ #1,500 each @ 85%- #31875.TB 25 trips@ #1,500 each @ 80%- #30,000NB. TB. Taxify bonus. NB. No Bonus. Difference- #1,875. So you are being led/ manipulated to believe you are on REAL bonus. . At the end of the week , all you gat is #1,875. after 45 trips. . some riders can give you that sef in kind or cash.... Lots of drivers HV this experience... Half bread is better than none.... We appreciate the gesture sha. Though Uber's 3% is a better bonus structure but dis advantage is soiled by its low fares. |

ophili: I thought this thread was for Uber but its like bolt has more talks for now..
Uber is really milking driver. They charge 25% and sometimes up to 50% from trips. Currently they are still taking 25% from me even after 27 trips for the week. When I emailed them for taking 50% they said they are adding more charges for other fees thus making the fare bigger than it should. This means they are getting debts from riders through me without my consent. These guys should be reported or sued. They are really cheating. I am switching to bolt. But its quite unfortunate that bolt activation process is so slow. Nigeria factor. Till today their office is still locked.. God help us in this country Well, every man to his cup. I think it all boils down to personal preferences. That's why some drivers r still on Uber. I mean I need to know where I'm going to in Lagos. I can't just b driving around Lagos wtout purpose. The plan is to make profits n not to just keep driving forming activity. Sadly, uber fares. .. too low. Heading home nko. Uber's destination is always non- responsive. If I'm going home from island n I set destination to mainland on Bolt. Worst case I get yaba or ogudu WC is still good. On uber, you HV to keep trying. somtyms sef I gat blow empty wen I Neva knew Bolt was d bomb back then. Abi na those short trips n you see #370 something naira. . Wt a corolla for godsakes wat will #370 naira do for me .. On bolt. Weda its from point a to b even if na just 3-5 mins ride. Its #500 flat.. N so on. Mehn , I can't be forming posh n still get shortchanged. If at COB , d 5% margin gives me an extra #500- #750 daily . In 20 days, I have #10,000- 15000 to play with. That's very fine by me. |

dckng16: This is another reason for block account, drivers needs to take note of, I have never heard they block people for this. Anyway I don't think it is a permanent block. You need to contact Bolt support, so that they can look into your matter. Set the radius on your app to 2KM so that you stop getting request from far distance and try as much as possible to limit client did not show and missed request That 2km radius is just a farce.I HV had long distant PUs before ( 7km n beyond). I don't go o. I let it slide. Pick up DT rider mite still eventually cancel. The app just picks d closest driver in DT area ,radius setting or not. |

After waiting for that girl for 20minutes she called me to tell me that if I can’t wait anymore I should cancel because she’s waiting for alert and she can’t leave until she gets it. I told her okay, waited for another 10mins before I cancelled.
One hour later no request and it was a dead zone (back of sangotedo market), I kept thinking of the fuel I will waste driving back to civilization, I left there to park at Ogidan shopping complex. Still no request, the girl later called me to come pick her if I am still around.
I had no choice than to drive back to pick her on offline trip to Itedo Estate (off freedom way). Thanks Baba . that endless waiting always frays ma nerves. |
