![]() is the Economy ready for it? Production is not complete until product gets to consumers, if consumers can't afford it, then production isn't complete |
bereiweris:people who don't understand vehicles always debunk it. The Mitsubishi Montero is a work horse, a vehicle you will enjoy. The only problem is some are not to be bought because they are cheap and naija used. 1. Mitsubishi engines smoke easily when wrong engine oil is used 2. The vehicle wiring is very delicate, one wrong wiring and the brainbox gets it when brainbox gets it ultimate search begins as the part is a bit scarce.most people don't know Mitsubishi is one big company that manufacture and sell engines to third party companies. innoson sources engines from Mitsubishi. This particular car is a rally winner in all ramifications from Sahara to lost desert. It is a very capable off-roader envy of others in it's class. The only bad Montero I Know is the one in mortal Kombat ![]()

king406:I meant Benz in general not you as an individual. And please stop associating me with Toyota always haba. |
weyreypey:You have a "right to your opinion" which isn't always "right" |
weyreypey:"Almost" doesn't count |
muhdelninoo:2500 for 14gig 2000 for 7.2gig 1000 for 3.6gig I have done the 2500 twice and I wasn't shortchanged. be patient sometimes it takes time to balance the data and also call the CS for complaints |
simonfynboi:yes the vehicle is good enough for city and town taxi/run. you will probably be getting around 13 to 15L per 100km depending on traffic, load and driving habit. As for its legality as taxi use in Abuja I can't really say |
CAPTAINBLACK01:TOYOTA WS for the transmission fluid and 5w30 synthetic blend for the engine oil for Engine protection. |
king406:Benz fans would never seem to amaze me, don't go and up your game, be telling C0CK and bull story. I am in my Toyota come and beat me |
Adebowale1616:https://www.nairaland.com/2646449/documents-needed-when-buying-used go through the link. To avoid buying a stolen car don't buy a G-wagon tagged at the price of Bobo drink. For tokunbo just ensure you have the custom documents For naija used check the certificate of ownership the owner name and number is there you can call the number to determine if the owner sold it to a dealer or ask questions about the car. |
Yem007:I have owned that particular Almera and I would buy it again if given the chance. Throughout my ownership it served well. just buy the Almera a well converted unit or a LHD from factory you will be ok. I only told you the defects so you won't be milked by kazeem like I was unfortunate to have been, cause I didn't have access to those information prior to my ownership. |
Yem007:This Almera is not for you because at your budget price only RHD Almera you will find and it cost money to convert to LHD. just get yourself a first generation Nissan Micra tokunbo, Peugeot 206 or a Nigerian used Kia Rio 08 to 2010 fits well within your budget. A Honda Civic European 96 to 2000 would have fit that budget as tokunbo but to find the car itself in Nigeria you go Waka shoe go give up the soul that would have been one of the best car within your budget, but the Rover 6series that's 618i, 620 or 623 is same as the Honda of that year in parts, transmission and engine. |
Yem007:OEM "original equipment manufacturer" buy brand-new of the two sensors you can order from AliExpress safer to buy new than tokunbo, last time I bought tokunbo sold 2500 each in Lagos and 4k each in Kano 2015 or was it 2016. Those two sensors can make you change every part in the vehicle when they start their wahala if your mechanic doesn't know the working Dynamics of the QG engines. The engine has 2 know defects 1. Timing chain stretch that is caused by wrong engine oil weight or poor maintenance and change interval of oil (sludge) 2. Cam and crankshaft sensor, made of magnetic and plastic, it begins to chop off or the wire gets cut (design flaw of wiring) or partial contact. Symptoms of this one is loss of power eventually car will refuse to start. you will change fuel pump, battery, Kickstarter, injector nozzle, brainbox if you are unfortunate to meet a kazeem. It's a straight forward fix that you can even change yourself. Apart from this two issues if you don't mess with the wiring you will be fine. one more thing this particular vehicle body falls apart easily and prone to rust from the tank area due to poor plastic covering in that aspect I would have adviced you buy Nissan Sentra instead, same vehicle in different body style but the Sentra body is more solid. But if you intend to use it for a short period (3years) you will be ok as long as you don't drag right of way with Danfo. good luck |
weyreypey:autocorrect I wrote "Cam" as in camshaft |
tokunbo starts at 800k may be more or less depending on the hand drive it has and trim level, SVE is the luxurious trim with screen and optional reverse camera. it is fuel economical as the Corolla with it's 1.5 or 1.8L QG engine. The engine uses timing chain a plus but ensure to use recommended oil to avoid premature chain stretch cause timing chain replacement is not an easy job. The engine has a defect of cam and crankshaft position sensor which causes jerking, loss of power and refusal to crank. Advice able to get a replacement of this part (brand-new OEM) and you will be fine |
kingreign: it's hard to interprete Yoruba to English what I said could also mean "What did I say and what did you say" just let it pass though I thought you understood Yoruba Sha ![]() |
kingreign:The English interpretation is "What did I carry, what did you throw" The meaning is just suppose to be "Your reply to my behavior is too harsh" aka you over reacted. |

AutoMoTech:sorry mistake |
fizcoo20:01 is better with it's engine having VVTI also better horse power (210 against 198) and a slightly better fuel economy |

sultaan:The D22 97-04 never had the 4.0V6 but had only 3.3V6 and 2.4 i4 even the D40 that had the 4.0 is a formidable off-road vehicle which has been tested in my presence I just waved it off because the D22 seems easier to upgrade and love-vendor than the D40 besides a bypass for the D40 would solve your problem forever or simply buy 08 upwards with updated radiator components from factory. The sport Trac is just an explorer in pickup form may be rare but parts aren't since it's same with explorer which is common and available on Nigerian roads. |
