Kelvin30286063: Bro, I whip all butts when I drive. It's not about the car you drive. It's about the person behind the will and your understanding of your machine. I conquer the road whenever I want to. Corolla kini? Is that a car? Lol you talk too much and that's because you never see better challenger. when I am in Lagos, I will give you a good come to daddy whipping with my 280hp Nissan 350z manual transmission for now enjoy your victory over Camry and Corolla |
Car Talk › Re: This Is Probably The Most Amazing Features In The Acura Tl 2012! by nurey(m): 9:29pm On Oct 11, 2020 |
Kelvin30286063: I don't like to talk to much about speed when assessing a car cuz I know speed kills but it has to get to a point where you just have to say how you feel about something that you think is exceptionally brilliant.
I bought my Acura TL 2012 about 7 months ago, even though I did a lot of research before finally dropping the money, I didn't expect that I'll enjoy this much peace of mind and joy when driving this machine.
Apart from all the amazing features that comes with TL 2012, The most fascinating to me is the sport mode coupled with the manual shift gears that is carefully placed in the steering area.
God that thing is bae! I don't even bother if a car is trying to drag race me anymore, I just let them go cuz I know if I want to, all I need to do is switch to sport mode and engage my manual gears!
I don't know how Acura did it and how they made it so perfect but they sure did it! I'm sure everybody that drives that car will testify to this too.
Now this brings me to the question I have. ARE THERE NEGATIVE EFFECTS TO USING THIS MANUAL GEARS?
If you also drive this car and you have more experience with it. I'd like to know what you think. Those are paddle shifters nah, for quickly engaging the next gear or reducing your gear selection bypassing the TCM or manufacturer designed change time. Your TL is a 3.5L V6 with 3xxhp, I hope you weren't challenging the likes of Corolla and Camry? Any way a G37 infiniti of same year would whip your butt over and over again. |
Car Talk › Re: Why Is Naija Toyota Camry Always Cheaper Than The Naija Corolla by nurey(m): 9:22pm On Oct 11, 2020 |
Happiestman1: You can see a Naija used 2005 Toyota Camry at 900-1million naira. Then Toyota Corolla ( Naija used ) goes for 1.5 - 2 million. WHY? Demand and supply. The higher the demand of a product the higher the price. Corolla is stronger than the camry Corolla is more fuel efficient with it's engine than Camry Corolla parts is cheaper to a degree than the camry. Toyota is a perfect ride for uber than Camry in Nigeria. in essence i hate Corolla but we have 2 in the family and I still love it |

Thanks all NATS issue, ensure you replace the key with original battery. @ Gazzuzz, radautoworks, blackbishop, nurey and other gurus your oil guage should be between the lower and upper mark, but closer to the upper mark than the lower mark. The right reading can only be gotten when engine is cold |
Car Talk › Re: What The Cost Of Honda Crv Catalyst In Lagos by nurey(m): 7:34pm On Oct 06, 2020 |
dicksonadams: Any effects on the engine, performance and fuel economy? No effect on the engine as the defouler would take care of any error the oxygen sensor bolted along the catalyst would pickup. what's more there should be a slight improvement on fuel efficiency and take off of the vehicle, but you will be releasing harmful heavy metals into the atmosphere |
Car Talk › Re: What The Cost Of Honda Crv Catalyst In Lagos by nurey(m): 7:40pm On Oct 05, 2020 |
proclinician: If absence of catalytic converter caused poor fuel economy, will this defouler remedy it. I mean this is the major reason why people are keen on replacing the CC so will an imitator do the same job of improving gas milage? The job of the catalyst is to turn harmful gases during combustion into environment friendly ones. Once you use the defouler as instructed, you are good to go |
Car Talk › Re: What The Cost Of Honda Crv Catalyst In Lagos by nurey(m): 7:14pm On Oct 05, 2020 |
Wilson5183: Please who knows the prize range of Honda crv catalyst and how can someone identify a good catalyst. Buy a defouler, take it to a panel beater, he will remove the spoilt catalyst and weld a straight pipe then fix the defouler and then bolt the oxygen sensor on the defouler and maggic, the catalyst efficiency below threshold error is gone. |

Callmeboss: Haulage, Yes.
Its a petrol engine. For the only petrol engine available which is a 2.0L the user agreed mpg is 19.x which is approximately 13L/100km when used as a coach. Coupled with our fuel quality, driving pattern, engine age and depending on cargo you are hauling, you will burn more than that |
Car Talk › Re: Needs Insights. by nurey(m): 11:18am On Oct 05, 2020 |
Kingdemu: It takes between 10-12 litres to cover 100km in a J5. So you can calculate. did you factory in that he would be using the vehicle for hauling cargo, heavy ones at that. did you also factor in whether it is diesel or petrol engine? |

Novemberaura: thanks for the input.
I'm a first timer so aside it is deeply low on second hand resale value I can't understand what you mean
but I'd suppose you'll recommend or condem it for Uber use
thanks baba I will prefer you buy a Nissan Sentra instead of that particular Almera |

Novemberaura: how durable is Nissan Almera 2012
what are the pros and cons I don't know much about this Almera though but I have always had fear for the ride because the engine is of Renault origin. Also the resale value is extremely shitty and it is fitted with CVT or Automatic but that depends on the market it came from. Mostly bought brand new in Nigeria. I have seen the bluebird syphlys variant and I can say the outward appearance is the most well packaged compact vehicle I have seen |

Car Talk › Re: Rough Terrain Roads. by nurey(m): 7:36pm On Oct 03, 2020 |
oride: Never said it was. Please read my submissions again. I mentioned three engines and some were turbo charged (N55). I know, am saying the M54 in the X5 is NA no turbo, no hanky panky. just plain lovely engine though seems a bit underpowered for all that weight |

Car Talk › Re: Rough Terrain Roads. by nurey(m): 7:17pm On Oct 03, 2020 |
oride: The N54, N55 and M54 are all in line 6 I believe. Just that some have turbos others have not. The M54 in the X5 had no turbo, it's plain NA and feels underpowered for the vehicle. There is no big deal in BMW that everyone just dey fear, I did gladly buy 1 if I can afford it. We know some models are a plague to be avoided but definitely not a first gen X5 |
Car Talk › Re: Rough Terrain Roads. by nurey(m): 7:04pm On Oct 03, 2020 |

And Op, both the X5 and the Range Rover share the same power train. Go figure. the X5 of that year is not a piece of crap, it is a really good vehicle. |

There's absolutely nothing underpowered about the N54 or N55. They're massively underrated at 300 HP and actually make about 340 HP. funny guy read before you respond. the 3.0L i6 is M54 |

oride: If he wants to live a long and peaceful life, the V8 should be avoided. A BMW is a complex car, a 15 year old BMW is just not it. There are people still using extremely old BMW and doing fine. Nothing complex in a X5 that a technician who knows his onions can't fix |

Phobos19: Good evening house, Please, what are the pros and cons of 2.4L 4-cylinderToyota Camry 2007 in summary it's a good car, 07 is prone to gear fault but ensure you change the fluid regularly I believe it should be type T-IV or toyota WS. Use full synthetic fluid from reputable manufacturer as the 4cylinder 2.4 is prone to engine burn. The major thing is that it is a robbers magnet |

Any one you choose would serve you well. for the 4.0L V6 frontier ensure to check if it has undergone the radiator bypass. interns of part price and availability the frontier tops, though the Ford parts you get will always be original and last |
