trolling: and who told u the men of israel practise astrology? and they knelt sown before Him because they know he is the King of Israel moreover why would a 7 woman grab hold of our men or "seize" as if they are in a war with our men,I wouldnt insult u because its not called forand I actually thought you knew the Bible you quoted. The Magi (wise men) who came to Jesus were not Israelites. The Bible says they came from the East and after they recieved warning in a dream, returned TO THEIR COUNTRY by another way. Magi is a term for the priestly caste of Zoroastrianism and they practised astrology. As for your question on 7 women grabbing a man, were you not the one that posted this: trolling: And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel:abi you get short term memory ni? The Bible does not say a woman has to kneel for her husband. It only says she should respect him. |
free2ryhme: let me refresh ya memory since it needs it .. the sentences in bold was is part of the topic..smh. Your case is hopeless. Well I wrote those things for smart people who can tell when something is off topic. If you do not fall into that category, just pretend you didnt see it. I'd ignore the next unreasonable thing you post. |
tintingz: my own african culture which is yoruba...a woman is to kneel to show respect and submitive to her husbandNow you are talking. I said I would not let my wife kneel for me outside and you set out to correct me as if my opinion had to resemble yours. Well I am not exactly a tradition freak. Some cultures (used to) support degrading practices like female geni.tal multilation and widows drinking the water used to wash their husbands' corpse. That people do it does not make it the best path to follow. I never said its wrong to kneel. Read my first post again. My point is, it should not be forced. Tradition or not, I would not let my wife kneel for me. Unless you plan to give me your sister in marriage so I can be your brother-in-law, dnt quote me again ![]() |
free2ryhme: get hold of ya self and stick to the line of discussion ... we are discussing kneeling down as a sign of respect nothing more ...simple... but y una dey add una own .. cat u stick to the topic @ handThe topic says: "Ladies, can you kneel down for your husbands openly?" how is my post stating that 'kneeling is not a sign of respect' off topic? Get the hell off my back if you cannot understand when a post is off topic ![]() |
trolling: For those proud women remember that Mary knelt down before Christ and wiped the dust of Yahshua's feet with her hair moreso in the nearest future seven women will kneel down before the men of Israel if they want to be in the Kingdom(Isaiah 4)two things: (1) The Magi (Astrologers) knelt for Jesus as a young child (Matthew 2:11), a MALE leper (Matthew 8:2) and Jarius (Mark 5:22) knelt for Jesus too. If Mary's kneeling for Jesus meant that women should kneel for their husbands, what does men kneeling for Jesus mean? That men should kneel for their husbands too? Dummy! Note that none of these people were compelled to do so. There were women that did not kneel for Jesus either. (2) No translation of the bible mentions the seven women kneeling at Isaiah 4, rather they 'grab hold' of or 'seize' the man. Stop misquoting scripture to fit silly traditions! |
tintingz: no one says a wife is a slave to her husband...she just gat to show respect to her hubbyYou truly believe kneeling is a sign of respect? A 60yr old man could say "yes sir" to a 19yr old boy when the latter is holding a gun. When we do things out of compulsion, respect is NEVER the reason why. How one enters adulthood without knowing that simple fact is just strange. If your wife loves you, she would respect you. A real man works toward deepening her love and admiration for him instead of forcing her to kneel down. Only men with terrible self-esteem issues would always want to be reminded in silly ways that they are the head of their homes. |
Redmosquito: Oahray use suspense to ur advantage. The part where the lunar being said " We are.....". U should have waited for someone to push u on. Dat way u'll garner more fans and know them.lol@ "U should have waited for someone to push u on". hmmm... You are very much guilty of that. Thanks for the heads up. |
Idowuogbo: nothing is far o my dear! am coldwhere your kissing partner? ![]() |
The response of some guys on this thread is alarming. So we still have this many male chauvinists around? One he-goat even mentioned the Bible as support for the gender-biased practise. There are situations that may warrant seriously kneeling down for someone. For example when we hurt someone to the extent that the person wants nothing to do with us. In such situations it may not be out of place to kneel to beg, REGARDLESS OF OUR GENDER, as it shows how sorry we are. That said, I would not allow my wife kneel for me in public regardless of tradition. Fvck such traditions! Men like me started such traditions in the first place. A wife ought to be a mate, complement, a bestfriend, not a slave! |
Idowuogbo: oahray!!!! Una funny die! ![]() In other news, how far na? |
BodyKiss: Didn't bother viewing the links you posted, because it did nothing but to further prove my point.lol. That's another typical Nigerian behaviour. You assume I do not visit other sites except nairaland, despite the many stats in my posts on this thread and even when I posted links to other sites (which you conviniently avoided). Same way you assumed Ronaldo offered Guardiola a handshake even when you did not watch the video, just because the media says so. You didnt open the links cos you have your mind made up already and would rather avoid anything that proves you wrong. This is what you said: Yeah, players do get dispute (quietly) on the pitch, not quarrel around the entire field of play.and I posted links that showed that other players (like Pepe) do not only quarrel with team mates but get physical. Yet you say I proved you right? Your sense of logic is shocking! |
BodyKiss: Didn't bother viewing the links though.I am not surprised. Its a typical Nigerian behaviour. Majority condemning Pep didnt watch the video either. Arguing based on hearsay and sentiments. |
BodyKiss: Just pointing out the fact that they're not the saints you described in terms of behavior. Yeah, players do get dispute (quietly) on the pitch, not quarrel around the entire field of play. Have you seen Barca players behavior when things didn't go their way?Seriously? Well I am not the one who called Barca players saints. Even the person you quoted said 'humblest players' not 'saints'. What you saw there was Pique criticising Alves for a defensive mixup and Alves refusing to accept it. That was no quarrel, much less a fight. You wanna know players that fight with team mates? Here is one: Pepe vs Arbeloa of Real Madrid, the same team caoched by Mourinho who poked Tito Vilanova in the eye. http://youtube.com/watch?v=2i6xTw6fcco and here's a list of 10 team mate fights compiled by footballspeak.com. http://footballspeak.com/post/2011/12/17/Footballs-Top-10-Teammate-Bust-ups.aspx |
BodyKiss: Really? You mean behavior like this right?there is nothing in that video but a dispute between Pique and Alves over error in defensive duties after an opponent had a shot a goal. Even goal keepers yell at their defenders over errors. How someone would bring this video as proof that barca players are not humble beats me ![]() |
gentlegg: Messi is the only world best player that has gone to World Cup without scoring a half goalMore stats to expose your ignorance: Figo went into the 2002 world cup as world best and didn't score a goal. Ronaldinho went into the 2006 world cup as world best and didn't score a goal. Like Figo and Ronaldinho, Messi went into the 2010 worldcup as world best and didn't score a goal. Like Figo and Ronaldinho, Messi provided assists. Is Messi truly the only? When you do not know something, it is better you keep quiet about it! |
gentlegg: but Messi is the only world best player that has gone to World Cup without scoring a half goal, has never played well in Argentina national team, has never played in another club, has never played good football without either or both Xavi and Iniesta on the pitch. You really know how to hawk ignorance don't you? Now let me educate you. (1) Messi has a world cup goal. (2) Argentina is currently topping the South American worldcup qualifiers table. Messi scored 12goals for Argentina in 2012, including hattricks against Brazil and Switzerland, one in their win against Germany, and 5goals in the world cup qualifiers. You call that 'not playing well'? (3) Messi has scored hatricks in matches where neither Xavi nor Iniesta played. One such match is the Mallorca match in the 2011/2012 season. Xavi was on the stands, Iniesta was on the bench and was never brought in, Barca won 5-0, Messi scored three goals! In his national team jersey in matches against Switzerland and Brazil too, Messi score three goals apiece. Does Xavi or Iniesta play for Argentina? You Ronaldo fanboys need to look for something real to discredit this fantastic player with, else someone would always be around to flog you with facts! |
n0m0705: Well, many of us are not stuck with nairaland as you, I don't need to watch it cos I have seen different pictures of it on dailymail.co.uk before it even got to nairaland there was a particular picture that showed how ronaldo's hand was left hanging. You saw pics of Ronaldo's hand hanging? Seriously you saw his hand offering a shake? Come off it man! The angle of the camera made that impossible as there was an obstructing head. The best you could have seen was Ronaldo's arm not his hand. The rest is left to your imagination. You filled the void with what the media wants you to see. Watch the video and see where he hit Guardiola with his elbow before Guardiola turned, how Guardiola reacted, and you would know it wasnt a handshake. Or maybe you wouldnt. Media robots swallow everything they read online. If you believe examining evidence means I am stuck with Nairaland, yours is just a sad case of baffling with bullshit when you realise you are incapable of dazzling with brilliance. |
Hmmm... Funny enough I thought I was the only one who saw NLC's move as a backstage settlement from FG. I still think the same of Oshiomhole and the many fruitless strikes in his time as NLC president. Make dem dey play Nigerians dey go. Most of us would never realise it. Most of those who realise it do not really care. Those who care are usually too powerless to do anything about it. |
ibnquasale: The truth is if he had knew the disgraceful act would be caught on tape, He (Guardiola) would have gladly accepted the handsome handshake! No, the truth is if you watched the video with a good pair of eyes, you would have seen that Ronaldo hit Guardiola on the head as he passed by (and so stopped to apologise) and you wouldn't be making noise about a handshake Ronaldo never offered. Silly herd mentality you are exhibiting here. |
dsolo: OkSeriously? You quoted all that just to write ok? You are a *some words reserved* Smh |
Lol... Trust Nigerians. I am pretty sure majority didnt watch the video. I dunno where you guys got the idea of a handshake, or are you guys just commenting on what you read? Try to notice little details when you watch something. There is a head obstructing our view so we do not really see any handshake gesture from Ronaldo. You guys only assume he did offer one. When a person offers us a handshake, by reflex, our eyes focus on the offered hand, before moving to the owner's face. Nothing like that happened in that video. Guardiola turned to look at the person behind, long enough for the person to have said something, then turned away without looking down and without a word. In my opinion, after watching the video severally, here is what happened: Ronaldo is walking past (probably going back to his seat). He actually bumps into a seated Guardiola with his elbow. Guardiola turns to see who it is, Ronaldo stops and probably says something I think is an apology. Guardiola turns away and Ronaldo pauses for a moment then walks away. Watch the video carefully and don't just swallow everything the media feeds you! |
Lol... Wetin una want make Ronaldo and Guardiola dey discuss? Ronaldo was disrespectful one of the few times they had a close encounter. If Guardiola respond una go say e dey pretend. Now e face front without a word, una say na unprofessional behaviour. Well, even Ronaldo's team mates are not friends with him off the pitch, so why should Guardiola pretend to be? At least Guardiola didnt poke his eye. |
lonelydora: If I be them, I go start fasting and praying. Becos, if some1 tell me say River Niger dey drown person, I no go even try to swim inside. Bible talk say make we avoid foolish argument.what if someone tells you that food kills? You'd avoid foolish argument and stop eating for good? ![]() Its a shame some people try to use the Bible to justify gullibility. The same Bible say make we "TEST EVERY INSPIRED EXPRESSION". |
Beync: wait for my daughterem... *scratching head* I'm kinda too old for that o. I dnt mind younger sis sha. |
