majekleo: When one sneezes, the right word to say is "bless you" cos ones you sneeze, ur heart stops for micro seconds and it is assumed that u died for those few minutes, the only appropriate word to say to a dying person is "bless you" .its not true that the heart stops when we sneeze. Most times before we sneeze, we inhale sharply. This increases pressure in our chest. When we sneeze, air is forcefully ejected with the irritants. The sharp change in pressure alters blood flow to the heart, so heart rate changes. That change in heartbeat is what makes it SEEM we skipped a heartbeat. Sneezing poses not direct danger to life. I havn't heard of anyone who died of sneezing either. |

His eyes widened. "You speak of things you saw not. I know what happened" she continued, "after watching the wall of thoughts, that which you call Television, you left for your room and your brother went outside. There he united with his Aura, that orb of transcluscent of blue of which you spoke. As expected, he arrived here on our moon. He who you called our leader, the one who spoke, Gezar, is the leader of the Watchers. I was the female your brother saw. The only female allowed to be with with the Watchers. Well when Ray came..." "How... how did you know?" "That you are not Ray?" she chuckled, "you would not understand, Khere" "Who are you?" he asked bewildered. He studied her. Under the influence of her own aura, he could see her clearly. She truly looked human, but for the long ears, large eyes, big feet and small teeth that showed everytime she spoke. "I shall continue with my story" She decided, ignoring his question. "When Ray arrived, he spurned Gezar, like he told you. He was not ready, so Gezar sent him back to the Earth to learn to glow from within. I knew he needed help, I asked Gezar to teach him. He would not bulge. So I acted. I made him see what he saw on the wall of similar dimensions." He looked confused. She noticed. "Mirror, that is what you call it. You came in when he screamed. You are Khere the younger, not nearly as wise as Ray, Khere the deceitful. He told you everything, you believed nothing. |
harbibi: Gesundheit is the right word to say. Not common though. There is no particular 'right word' to say jor. |
Redmosquito: I'm lost Oahray! ur last two updates have ditched my understanding!
I thought I was the only one ooooooo
lol. Bear with me... I experimented with an 'unreliable narrator' mode to begin the story. Bluesparkles noticed it ouright. It was the only way I could create another (unserious) character separate from the protagonist. I apologise for any misunderstanding. A few more posts should make it clearer. |
People say bless u after sneezing cos the heart stops for millisecond during sneezing.
This is one of the sneezing superstitions. Another one is that sneezing opens a door to the soul, and either it flies out or evil spirits fly in. Crap! |
At times I don't say anything jor. Other times I just say 'sorry'. I think sneezing is already a blessing as its the body's way of trying to expel irritants like cold air, pollen or dust. For me, saying "Bless you" has superstituous undertones. Its the one who sneezes who should say something, like 'excuse me'. I know someone who says "Jesus I love you" each time he sneezes" ![]() |
