Remember, we promised that, we had a mechanism to curb rigging & cheating?

The mechanism is simple, we have created dummy accounts for all debaters.
The debaters won't be debating with their handles/moniker but the ones that will be assigned to them by us.
These handles will be sent to the debaters few minutes before the debate starts.

That way, the judges & the audience will vote based on the quality, credibility & standard of the write-ups/deliveries.
This will also eliminate the issue of bias, favoritism, connections(man know man) & votes based on beauty/popularity.

If THAT DAY is irrelevant, please tell us why god deemed it important to mention THAT DAY.

It has never been question of whether they will die at all because they were never promised everlasting life. They knew what death was and like every living thing, was afraid of dying. Only with the reassurance of Satan did they open their eyes and became less stupidd.

If your god does not know the difference between 1 day and 1000 years, then he is as clueless as an earthworm in a puddle.

Just like your mentor the devil, you see the truth, yet refuse to acknowledge it. Where in the conversation between the serpent and Eve was mention made of 'the day'? I challenge you to show me where either Eve or Satan mentioned THE DAY in that conversation . They didn't. Why? Because that wasnt the point. Can the both of us discuss something, yet never mention it? (no need answering that, you'd likely give a sense.less answer anyway).
BTW did u ever read of the tree of life? Was it forbidden to them too? So how is it you say they were not meant to live forever?

You do not truly know the Bible as much as you believe you do. God's command was communicated directly to Adam (Gen 2:15-17) and he was told that he would die in the DAY he eats of it. One thing you fail to realise is that 'day' as used in the Bible isnt limited to the idea of 24hrs. An evidence is Genesis 2:4, which mentions 'the DAY God made the earth and heaven'. Of course we know it took 6 creative 'days' to make the earth ready. 'Day' could mean an unspecified period of time (browse up and make some research). The Bible also mentions a day being as a thousand years, and a thousand years being as a day in God's eyes (2 Peter 3:9). Bottom line here, God isnt limited or confined by our view of time.

As for the conversation between Satan and Eve, here is what the Bible tells us (Genesis 3:1-6):
(1) Through the serpent, the devil asks if it is true that God banned them from EVERY tree.
(2) Eve answered saying it was just one tree from which they were banned, the tree of knowledge of good and bad, and that God told them that they would die if they touch it.
(3) The devil says 'you WILL NOT DIE'
Notice that the bone of contention here wasnt whether they would die THAT DAY, as Eve didnt even mention that part. The bone of contention was whether they would die at all.
God said they would die... Satan said they would not die.
.
Now answer your own question yourself, who was lying?

No one is using the bible to prove that spirits do not exist. God is a spirit (John 4:24) and so are His angels. The devil is a spirit too as are his demons.
The point is, humans are physical creatures, breath (spirit) in bodies. We do not have an immortal soul (Ezekiel 18:4). The devil would have us believe the opposite.

Am sure this answers your first question. Spirits do exist. However we do not have a part of us that survives our death.

As for your second question, the answer is related to the reason a certain girl with a spirit, a demon of divination (Acts 16:16-18) who practiced the art of prediction (the demon obviously made her successful as she brought much gain to her masters) kept calling Paul and his companions 'slaves of the Most High'. The demon wasnt lying, however it was trying to identify with God's people. Had Paul had allowed it to continue, what message would it give to the onlookers? THAT THEY (both the possessed girl and the christians) ARE UNITED IN PURPOSE AND OF THE SAME SOURCE. If that isnt deception, what is?

Back to Saul and the Witch of Endor... Divination was forbidden by God, yet Saul went secretly to engage in it. How fitting it is, to make it seem that the spiritistic practice of divination and fortune telling was just another way of hearing from God. The words of rebuke were typical of Samuel, making it seem that Samuel who earlier condemned divination as a sin (1 Samuel 15:23) was the same one communicating God's words through the same sinful process. If that isnt deception, what is?

The Bible says 'the wages (reward) of sin is death', but that eternal life is a 'gift God gives... by Christ Jesus our Lord' (Romans 6:11). If human do not really die, does the relevance of this 'gift' make any sense to you? Life is life, regardless of its form.

Trinity isnt Biblical. By the way trinitarians seem to differ on the details. Some say they are manifestations of one God... Others say they are distinct and separate. They however seem to agree on their equality, which is against Bible teachings.

First recorded lie in human history... The devil, the original serpent told Eve: "you will not die." Eve believed this...
Some years later Adam and Eve dies.
Another lie springs up to make the first seem true: "When you die, you really do not die. Humans have an immortal soul". Majority of humans believe this...
Why? Because the devil and his demons are willing and able to materialise (spirits can do this to be visible) in the form of a dead one to prove their point.
Their aim? Same aim the devil had when he lied to Eve -to make God seem the liar to humans.
From your posts here, the devil is pretty much succeeding... Sadly.

Sorry, no vex. Was simply curious.
I think the schedule is alright. About the audience voting... Nice idea to get everyone involved but... It might get really rowdy and I dunno if it would be easy to moderate the thread. IMO, the less complicated the judging process, the better. I would have loved to vote though, but I am a Nairaland newbie in every sense of the word, so I would likely not be eligible anyway. Guess I'd just watch.
