Sports › Re: Who Is The Most Qualified Coach Between Stephen Keshi And Samson Siasia? by OAM4J: 5:14am On Nov 01, 2010 |
Former secretary general of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ambassador Fanny Amun, has expressed optimism that either of Stephen Keshi or Samson Siasia can handle the Super Eagles effectively depending on the targets set for them by the NFF.
Speaking with journalists in Abuja last Thursday, Amun said he could not pick one of them ahead of the other because both are good coaches, who are capable of managing the Super Eagles. He added that the NFF should pick one of them based on what the football house wants to achieve.
"The truth is that Stephen Keshi and Samson Siasia are two different individuals with different styles of doing things. One is a young lad, who is very enterprising with the willingness to take the high responsibility of being the head coach of the Nigerian senior national team. He has contributed much to the development of football in the country, that is Siasia.
"The other is a highly experienced man and very superior. He is well exposed and better matured for the job. I mean Keshi. “The issue I want to state very clearly is that the Super Eagles does not need a coach after all, what the team needs now is somebody who can coordinate and manage the excessive talent of individual footballers Nigeria has. So, between Keshi and Siasia, one is matured enough for the job, while the other is highly willing to do the job.
“It boils down to what the NFA wants. If you pick the younger person, he should not be rushed to perform and produce immediate results. He should rather be given a long-term programme. But where you choose the older person, he should do the job and get immediate results. That is my take on choosing between Keshi and Siasia whom to coach the Super Eagles," stated the coach, who won FIFA Under-17 World Cup with Golden Eaglets in 1993.
Meanwhile, ahead of the November 4 date set aside for interviewing the two short-listed coaches for the Eagles' job, former captain of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi insists that he is the best man for the job. Speaking with Daily Sunsports from his base in the United States of America, Keshi expressed joy at being considered for the job of managing the Super Eagles and assured that he has all it takes to deliver the good and lead the national team to regain its lost glory.
“I am glad that the NFF considered me worthy for the job of handling the Super Eagles. I feel honoured and I will no doubt give my best at the interview to ensure that I grab the job. “I am well equipped to handle the Eagles because I know what it takes to manage talents that we have in the country. Having done well with the national teams of Togo and Mali under very difficult conditions, and having assisted Coach Shaibu Amodu and Bonfere Jo in the Super Eagles in the past, I think I am very, very qualified to handle the team if I am given the opportunity. At that level, you don't coach but manage stars,” he stated.
According to Keshi, talents abound in Nigeria, all that's required would be to harness them and turn them into big stars. He pointed out that the fantastic 1994 set of Eagles took Clemence Westerhof about five years to harness, and that the team was able to win the Nations Cup in 1994 and qualified the country for the World Cup the same year, was because the boys had enough time to blend well, even as they were committed and ready to die for the country.
He stated that having worked under some of the best coaches in the world both as a player and as coach, it had become ripe for him to impart his experience on young Nigerian players to enable them soar higher in their football career.
Asked if he would work with Samson Siasia in the Eagles, Keshi said that both of them played together in the national team and that it wouldn't be bad if they should work together again. But he doubted the possibility of Siasia agreeing to work with him as his assistant.

Evil Brain: I'm not happy with Mo though. she wasted too much time asking dumb questions like "how strict are you with your children?", "how did you meet your wife?" and that kind of nonsense.
If it were me interviewing him apart form the June 12 and coup questions, these are some of the things I would have asked him:
1. Sir, since you say you didn't steal it, what really happened to the $12 billion gulf war oil windfall?
2. Sir, given your terrible civil rights record, why do you think you are fit to rule Nigeria as a democratic president? Why should the Nigerian people trust you again?
3. Considering the massive expansion of government bureaucracy and wasteful spending that occurred during your regime, do you feel personally responsible for present governments being forced to spend so much on recurrent expenditure and so little on capital?
4. SAP. Do you really still think it was a good idea? And more importantly, do you think it would have worked if you and your friends hadn't been so corrupt?
5. Sir, since you say it wasn't you, who do you think really killed Dele Giwa?
6. How can I move large amounts of money out of the country without attracting attention? I'm planning to run for councillor soon and I need some advice. lol @ bold |

[qoute] N9.3bn lodgement: FirstBank is trying to cover its inefficiency — Poly student •Threatens to sue bank for N250m Written by Adewale Oshodi Friday, 29 October 2010 The last may not have been heard about the case of the N9.3 billion lodged in the FirstBank account of a student of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Mr Durojaiye Job Adeyemi, with the subsequent report credited to the bank management that he should not be celebrated as he initially tried to steal the money but when he found out that he would not be successful, he eventually disclosed what he found in his account to the branch manager of the bank’s Polytechnic branch. Durojaiye has said FirstBank’s report on the case was damaging to his personality, and he would be suing the bank for N250 million for libel. The Higher National Diploma (HND) II Civil Engineering student, while speaking at a press briefing on Thursday, at the Press Centre of the Oyo State council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Iyaganku, Ibadan, said the new twist being introduced by the bank was unfortunate, claiming the bank was only trying to cover its inefficiency. “They said I tried to steal the money but when I discovered that it would not be easy, then I reported the case to the branch manager, but in actual fact, if I tried to steal the money, would I have withdrawn just N20,000? “I was only expecting to find N3,000 in my account, so when I found N9.3 billion, I was shocked and wanted to confirm if the money was truly in the account. “My lawyer will take the case up because FirstBank is only trying to cover its mistake,” he said. Mr Durojaiye, who had been honoured in different quarters since the case came to limelight, urged Nigerian youths not to be discouraged by what was happening to him, as honesty paid in the end. While speaking, Durojaiye’s counsel, Mr. Ibrahim Lawal of Olujinmi and Akeredolu Chambers, said his client would sue FirstBank for N250million for libel and character damaging. Mr. Lawal wondered why it took the bank two months to come out with its side of the story, saying the bank waited that long to perfect its lies. http://tribune.com.ng/index.php/news/12840-n93bn-lodgement-firstbank-is-trying-to-cover-its-inefficiency-poly-student-threatens-to-sue-bank-for-n250m |

Ekwueme rejected Senate President position in 1999 -Obasanjo
Written by Our Reporters Friday, 29 October 2010 Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Thursday said that former Vice-President Alex Ekwueme rejected the position of Senate President after losing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primaries in 1999.
Obasanjo made the revelation in Lagos at the launch of his new book entitled: Baba’s Story: Nigeria is 50. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the 60-page book, which was authored by a Ghanaian, Abyna-Ansaa Adjei, tells the Nigerian story from Obasanjo’s perspective.
In the book, Obasanjo is quoted as saying that Ekwueme, who was vice-president under the Shehu Shagari regime, declined the offer of senate president after losing the party’s nomination to him.
“By that time, the party founders had already agreed that Ekwueme would be the President of the Senate,” Obasanjo said.
The former ruler also defended his record in office from 1999 to 2007, stating that his administration instituted policies and programmes which helped in shaping the country.
“We made great strides in the area of education, health, telecommunications and banking.

chaircover: This topic has been thrashed a number of times so OAM4J I thank God you are not Mr CC & BTW I find more married women in the gym than married men.
This is the problem many people have; they only marry their partners based on physical features/appearance and as soon as things begin to go south, east and west they suddenly fall out of love.
People must try and keep a healthy weight for health reasons more than anything else.
98% sounds like a figure the poster plucked from the air & lets face it we all cant look like Victoria Beckham Am definitely not in agreement with the %, just that the argument hold true for many married women and I think that many of these married women should be encouraged to lose some weight especially for health reasons Yes I agree with you that same apply to many men and all women cant look like Victoria Beckham. But not all men also want Victoria, some of us prefer Queen Latifah For me beauty is a whole lot more than physical attributes and that explains why I consider you beautiful even though I have not seen any of your pics. Too bad am not Mr CC, I envy him |
Family › Re: Married Women Going Fat by OAM4J: 6:48pm On Oct 28, 2010 |
chaircover: Then men have a problem on their hands and they better stay single cos there is no guarantee that they will be lucky enough to marrry the 2% of women who wont get fat after marriage hmnnn! i guess you too have gained so much weight since getting married. I dont blame you, I blame Mr CC who kept increasing your monthly allowance and I also blame Asda that keep doing those BOGOF promo. @topic There is a reason why we have gyms everywhere. Wonder why many married women stop visiting those places after they got married. married women should avoid building up excess fats, not just because it affects how they look, but for health reasons too. |

ok menek. As i said to you in the email i sent you, i have been worried that u have not given any update for a while and i was hoping, just hoping that it was because you have been very busy and you will be here soon to tell us your success story.
But if I must be sincere with you, am not too impressed. I expect you could have done a lot more. You are a young man, I expect a lot more passion and zeal for this project from you. What you got was enough to set you on motion and for you to do all you have to do to succeed. I advised that you be allowed to do the drug biz cos i expected you will put in lot of efforts cos it is your dream biz. but if all you have to say after 2 months is this, then I need to advise you to wake up and be a man. the best you can get from people is a push, and you are fortunate to get that push, but you will have to take yourself to your dreams.
I understand perfectly what it takes to start and run a biz cos I did run a biz in Nigeria too before i moved out. I started small but I put in everything I got into it, I had no room for excuses or failure and no obstacle was too big for me to surmount. I succeeded and was doing fine till I left the country and handed the biz to someone without passion who only saw challenges and obstacles rather than the joy of success.
Wake up Menek, show me you have some fire for this biz! life is not fair but the tough have learnt to get their share out of it through determination and hardwork. |
