FamilyRe: How Many Of Us Act Like Kids; Even As Grown Ups by OAM4J: 12:59am On Apr 17, 2010
funny thread!

I read this some where, sounds like me the other day with my girl.

As I woke up, I yawned, took a sideway glance and saw what it was. I was not alone, that was my babe lying by my side. From habit, I did the usual – I let out a very loud burst of wind from my behind. I normally tighten the opening and apply pressure from the innermost part of the belly to produce something close to a high octave note on a rusty trumpet. Madam woke up. Confused, then asked what was that? I told her some terrorists just bombed an embassy in Malawi. grin

Print version 2011: I’m Sure Of Winning —IBB
April 16, 2010 15:03 (6 hours ago), 1,359 views

By Simon Ateba

Former military dictator, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, aka IBB, said this morning that he would win next year’s presidential election.

He said that he had the experience to turn Nigeria’s economy around.

“I believe that it is possible and I have the experience to make it possible,” IBB told journalists at the presidential lounge of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

The ‘evil genius’, as he is also called, said those who are criticising or opposing him do not really know him.

“Perception is the way you look at things. If you call me a thief and you can prove it, you know what to do,” he said.

IBB said winning an election takes two things, which he thinks he has: the political party and the people.

Babangida announced on Monday his ambition to return to the office he left hurriedly on 26 August, 1993 after series of protests resulting from the annulment of the 12 June, 1993 presidential election won by business mogul and IBB’s good friend, Bashorun MKO Abiola.

Babangida, who ruled from August 1985 to 26 August, 1993, told the British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC, in an interview on Tuesday that he was ready to contest the presidency in 2011 on the platform of any of the existing 51 political parties.

Besides, this is something that is not possible, so why would i wanna vote on assumptions
No one before or after him made corruption a way of life

No one before or after him cancelled the best election Nigeria ever had

No one before or after him destroyed all the public institutions before or after him

@OP

His public apology will be a good starting point, but that alone will not give him my vote

election or no election, his public apology is long overdue.

excuse you??

so the generalization that all men cheat is now faultless??

if a woman came up to you and said all women cheat- what would common sense dictate to you??

that she cheats?? unless its tru that common sense isnt that common

what sense does it make of a faithful man to claim that all men cheat?? abeg

no wonder aids is soo predominant in nigeria- with this method of thinking kmt
Some people come to hasty conclusion cos of their experience with few people

such people like the OP might conclude all men/women cheat - they are wrong to generalize but that does not necessarily mean they too cheat.

. . .I will let the seemingly insult pass.

The problem with Nigeria is that every election since 1970 has been rigged in favour of the candidate able to pay the biggest bribes. IBB has the deepest pockets and can easily bribe himself to the presidency.

We as Nigerians must do all we can to rise up against him and our whole corrupt system of government. We have it in our power we just need to mobilise the masses.
The masses suceeded in Edo, Lagos, Ondo and some few other places. We can succeed everywhere with good mass orientation/education and determination

You can open as many threads as you want to promote IBB, it will all come to nothing.

Jonathan returns from US, plans to establish diaspora commission•Visit good for Nigeria – Ajumogobia

| Print | E-mail
Written by Leon Usigbe
ACTING President Goodluck Jonathan, on Thursday, returned to the country, after a four-day official visit to the United States of America, where he participated in the International Nuclear Summit hosted by President Barack Obama.

The visit, which also afforded Jonathan opportunities to interact with other world leaders, international agencies and the Nigerian community in the United States, was described by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Odein Ajumogobia, as “very successful.”

The minister, who was a member of the entourage of the acting president, said the trip was necessary to enable Nigeria to re-engage the world in an open and successful way.

Speaking with reporters on arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, Ajumogobia said “it was a very successful visit and I think it is important that Nigeria engages with the world again. I think we did so in a very open and successful way.”

He said the meeting between President Obama and the Acting President Jonathan was very successful, adding that there was a lot of goodwill for Nigeria, which will be for the betterment of the country.

“You could see for yourself the interviews with the BBC and CNN. In fact, it was a very short trip but there was so much excitement and everyone was very keen to meet the acting president,” Ajumogobia said.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government has announced plans to establish a diaspora commission to harmonise the contributions of Nigerians living overseas and ensure proper documentation of their input in the affairs of the nation.

Acting President Jonathan announced this when he addressed the Nigerian community in the US at Nigeria House, Washington DC, on Wednesday, to round off his visit to the States, adding that the establishment of the commission would enable government to have proper records of their contributions.

According to him, “we want to upgrade the diaspora department in Foreign Affairs Ministry to the level of a commission to coordinate experts in the diaspora. We are looking at establishing the commission before the end of this administration, in the next 12 months.”

A statement released by his office in Abuja, on Thursday, said Dr Jonathan applauded the roles and contributions of Nigerians in the diaspora, as he noted that they had become some of the best in their chosen professions across the globe.

The statement said the government would continue to acknowledge the contributions of these ambassadors and thanked them for promoting Nigeria’s image internationally.

@Kosovo

Please tell me IBB campaign organisation did not single you out and paid you to campaign for them knowing well that you are a political moderator on NL, am trying too hard to convince myself it's not true.

Your only reason for supporting IBB is that he promised true federalism, why are you so sure that someone like IBB whose 8 yr rule promoted a unitary government will deliver on that promise?

Again, are there no better candidates than a confirmed corrupt IBB?

Well if my suspicion is true, it will be a lot easier for a donkey to pass through the eye of the needle than for you to win a single well informed NL member to IBB camp.
In my opinion, except one decides to take the violent route, the only way to stop this man is to educate people on the reality of what we do if we allow him in. We have a democracy now and rule of law needs to be followed. Except a court somewhere can stop him from running, I doubt anyone can do anything about him running.
Kobojunkie I have to agree with you here. I keep seeing this campaign all over the internet and I wonder if this is the right step.

IBB has every right to contest, but we also have the right not to vote for him. In fact I want IBB to contest and lose

For me the only way to stop him is not to prevent him from contesting, but to tell Nigerians not to vote for him and to educate Nigerians on how to defend their votes and ensure their votes count.

If babangida shd become the president it means Nigeria is a dead country
I would only blame Nigerians. Nigerians have the right to vote and ensure that their votes count.

If IBB becomes president, it only means (1) Majority of Nigerians voted for him or (2) Nigerians refused to watch/defend their votes.

If IBB becomes president than Gbenga daniels is safe, if Jonathan becomes president he is not.

Daniels and Obj have not been on good terms. Jonathan is Objs guy, So its expected for Daniels to side with IBB.

I think daniels or some other SW fellow might be his running mate- to get SW votes. but then again Kalu is IBBs guy in the East. so who knows.

If IBB becomes president OK- it can be an advantage to the south as the norths term will only be 6.5 years, while the souths term in 2015 will be 8 years again.
Make no mistake about it, if Ibb or anyone from the north comes to power now, they would want to rule for a fresh 8yrs.

Something tells me he means business.

He has so much at stake:

1. If he intends to contest in 2011 or in any future elections, he would want to prove he is the best candidate to beat.

2. Even if he is not contesting, he would still want to leave a big legacy behind.
RomanceRe: Do All Married Men Have To Cheat. by OAM4J: 3:29pm On Apr 13, 2010
Not all married men cheat, but majority of married men cheat.

A cheating married man told us sometimes ago, that he cheats because 'varieties is the spice of life' and his extra marital affairs is the tonic that keeps his marriage from collapsing.

But the irony today is that, a lot of married women now cheat, only it is not as feasible as that of men because that are lot more discreet about it.

I have been approached by a number of married women (including friends wives) who would want to have a discreet affairs with me after complaining of one thing or the other about their husbands.

Exactly.

Besides, any news from Sun has less than 5% credibility in my book.
