Aren't we tired of all these unreliable 'reliable' sources?

As far as Nigeria is concerned, I only believe in what I can see.

Nonsense!

Prayerhuh Againhuh

After all d prayers & fastings some Nigerians already offered.

The man loves himself more than Nigeria, he will rather die in office than allow Nigeria have a leader.

So my prayer now is that Yaradua gets what he wants - die in office, and fast too.

True we have constitutional problems but we have lots more problems with the operatus of the constitution.

For all I care Yaradua & his evil cabals can manupulate d constution & rule till 2011, which is only next year.

But I wish these people understand the word 'Posterity', because that is what will hunt them for many years after 2011.

I wish we can all agree with OP, but I doubt how long this will last. It looks like some nairalanders have a sole agenda of creating ethnicity hatred/supremacy in this forum.

Am not bothered by them, they are in minority. I have great friends from many parts of Nigeria & i will ever cherish these friendships.

Truth is, there are good & bad people from every part of the world.
Tunde Bakare is from Kwara.

2. Yoruba will face a massive boundary issues at separation because of Kwara state. Allegiance to tribe or ethnic group does not necessarily truncate allegiance to religion. The latter is always the case and I'm sure the Islamic Kwara will prefer to be Arewa. Although they may swing towards Oduduwa nation if Olu saraki asks them to and whenever the Oduduwa oil dries up, they will remember they are Fulanis and core muslims. If Tunde Bakare stands to lose half of his Islamic family to another nation, what do you expect him to say?. Remember he was muslim and may not be too comfortable to demonize islam since he grew up in that culture.
I corrected you the 1st time. If you dont believe me, you could have at least use google.

I know and have listened to Tunde Bakare for years.

Born on 11 November 1954 to a polygamous Muslim family at Iporo Sodeke in Abeokuta, Bakare did not know his father – he died when he was two – but was brought up by his mother, Abigail Ebudola Bakare. He attended Lisabi Grammar School Abeokuta, Ogun State, after which he studied Law at the University of Lagos. According to the online network, “it was [on the] night of his circumcision as a little boy that God showed him a glimpse of his future, which manifested in a dream from which he woke up in a pool of his own blood.”

. . . Of all the elections I’ve been privileged to be alive to witness in Nigeria, probably the freest and fairest election was the 1993 election that resulted in the June 12 crisis. It employed Option A4, brought by probably the most hated leader in Nigeria, Ibrahim Babangida. I recently read that he is advocating the same thing as part of the solution to our many problems. I have participated in several elections. I didn’t vote in the 1964 elections, but I was alive and active. I saw all the campaigns. M.I Okpara and H.I.D Awolowo were in my hometown, Abeokuta. We did not belong to any party, but we sang for them because at the end of the whole campaign, we knew we would get something.

i dont know of the south west but i dont think the south east or south south will last long as one entity if nigeria breaks up.
Whathuh

all the southern nation will survive. even the north, it will only take the north some more time.

No part of Nigeria has any business with poverty. our problem is lack of true, committed, selfless and visionary leaders.
PoliticsRe: If Ojukwu Hadn't Fought In 1967, What Would Have Become Of N/delta Today? by OAM4J: 10:50am On Jan 15, 2010
Justcash:
You are very very funny and ignorant. He fought for a specific reason, which is to liberate the East from the Jihard thirsty, backward people of Northern Nigeria. Awolowo was too shortsighted to see was Ojukwu saw. The Ahiara declaration said it all. Currently, We (Nigerians as a whole) are suffering what he saw in 1969. He had enough wealth and power, what other selfish reason do you think he was fighting for?

Like I said , You are really funny and ignorant.
I have to agree with the bold. Though I love and respect Awolowo, but i wish he had seen today then, he would have allowed aburi accord to stand and negotiated the west secession.

IMO, I think Awolowolo and Zik at that time were blindfolded with their desire to rule the entire nation, cos they were are not satisfied being a regional leader.

Couldnt Jonathan relocate, albeit temporarily to a guest house or to an hotel? Remember Atiku had to run away for some days during the heady days of his frosty relationship with OBJ.
relocate? he is currently the head of government, with Yaradua MIA (missing in action), he cant abandon his duty for fear of being poisoned.

I think its about time he asserts his authority as the VP and current head of government.

Nothing stops him from suspending (even if he doesn't want to sack) anyone misbehaving in aso rock.

i hope they wont be stupid enough to do any bad thing to the man.

even if a natural negative thing should happen to him, nobody will believe it is not a plot.

just as I doubt anyone truly believes Abiola died naturally.

the article you quoted says nothing about your subject i.e 'protest spread to Lagos, Europe, US'

am interested in the follow up, but seems the organizers have become quiet after the Abuja protest and the supposedly Yaradua interview on bbc

He is backtracking; he said sjeezy's people will find it hard to steal oil and oppress minorities. Was he really referring to sjeezy's family or Yorubas in general?

Anyway, I have made my point and will let it rest.

PoliticsRe: North And South Of Nigeria Are Inseparable - Bakare by OAM4J: 9:06am On Jan 15, 2010
am a Yoruba man, in the event of Nigeria breaking apart, if the south can not agree among themselves to live together

then they can have 3 nations, SW, SS & SE. I don't believe any southern nation will suffer, oil or no oil.

the south has a lot more untapped resources to survive, oil notwithstanding. so lets quit this hating.
get your facts straight plz
Katsumoto:
Please read the comments again; I have not made any derogatory comments about the ND. You will observe that was my very first comment on this. If Beaf or any other bitter tribalist makes negative comments about my tribe, then I will defend my tribe. I will never sink to that level of attacking other tribes in retaliation because it not only leads no where but is also immature and foolish.

Try to be fair, do not lump us together.
I read all the post, I understand it all. I just dont want to start apportioning blames.

I dont believe beaf hates yorubas. I guess his post of calling sjeezy 'thieves' was misunderstood. he has just clarify himself with this

Beaf:
@Katsumato
I told you repeatedly that I was talking about those who brought sjeezy up to be warped, but you decided to make it a Yoruba problem, even bringing in your wife and kids. If you create baggage for yourself carry it.
All am advocating is PEACE.

Back to the topic.

I agree more with Tund Bakare 2nd dream about 2 sisters one sacrificing her kidney for the other.

Only that the south in this case will almost need to sacrifice her 2 kidneys to keep north alive.

Instead of South dying for the north, I will suggest that the north & south go their separate ways.
PoliticsRe: North And South Of Nigeria Are Inseparable - Bakare by OAM4J: 8:39am On Jan 15, 2010
i thot this thread was suppose to be north vs south. how did it degenerate to Yoruba vs ND? huh

Cmon Katsumoto, Beaf & tpia, we dont need this.

IMO, ND and SW have always been very cordial in their relationship.
