devoid of the usual trumphalist sentiments of people like Arewwa, the project is a good one and it will help sort the problem of gas flaring . The problem most people have in the south east is that some Nigerians seem to derive some fetish pleasure in knowing that the south east is obviously being marginalised, hence their gloating over projects like this. The desire of every true Nigerian is to ensure that all parts of the country is developed ....and not to mock those you are discriminating against.
But really, how exactly is this project marginalising anybody? Is it cos the word 'north' was mentioned? Why exactly must every project be used as a basis to argue 'marginalisation'?
Melkizedeck: This project is entirely beyond Nigeria! I think it is designed to entirely break the Russian gas monopoly which Russia uses as leverage to European nations in any diplomatic warfare! Europeans (and to some extent, the USA) have been trying to go around Russia and thereby softening her diplomatic strength. The actual idea is to lay the pipe to Morocco and then eventually to Spain. If this is true, I pray Russia doesn't find out and empower fifth columnists in the country to divide Nigeria!!!
It's sad that a lot of people are ignorant of this fact. If this pipeline is completed and can be extended through the Sahara up to Algeria, then Nigerian gas will finally get to the European market. The benefits of this are immense:
1. This pipeline can easily add over $5bn of additional forex revenue to Nigeria annually 2. It is also capable of ending (or at least significantly reducing) gas flaring and its attendant environmental impact in the delta. 3. It will also place Nigeria on a very enviable economic and political position as an alternative gas source to Europe thereby breaking Russian monoply.
If anyone should even be against this project, it should be the Russians. But unsurprisingly, it's Nigerians out of pure ignorance and some silly north vs south prejudices that are against the project. A lot of people just have no clue on the potential economic impact of this pipeline.
PapaBrowne: In my honest opinion, this is a senseless project for the simple reason that spending that $2.8billion to build just the pipeline would have built the largest Solar farm in the world(2500MW) right in Kano which could probably supply all of the Electricity needs of North West Nigeria. There is some much sunlight wasting away in the north it’s a no brainer spending that much to build a pipeline to transport gas from the Niger Delta when has availability is not even guaranteed.
The current largest Solar Power Station in the world is in Pavagada, India @ 2000MW. It cost $2.1b. With $2.8, there is no reason not to do something like that with that kind of money.
Billions of dollars worth of gas has been burnt/wasted every year for the past 50 years in the form of flares which damages the environment in the niger delta. Now this gas is about to be converted to wealth than can give Nigeria an additional revenue in the range of over $5bn annually and will also stop/reduce the environmental damage in the delta region caused by incessant gas flaring but you think this is a bad project?
You need to educate yourself properly on what this project is about before rubbishing what you know not about. This is one of the best investment moves Nigeria has made in the last 21 years. An invaluable investment like this should never be carelessly sacrificed on the alter of this north vs south prejudice.

JojoAbeka: BLACK LIVES MATTER PROTESTS NOT ABOUT RACISM BUT IMPLANTING MICROCHIPS – PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of Christ Embassy Church has come out with a shocking allegation regarding the current protests which have rocked the world in the aftermath of the killing of George Floyd by police officers in USA.
Oyakhilome, who was in the news recently for falsely claiming the installation of 5G technology was connected to the coronavirus outbreak, stated that the ‘Black Lives Matter’ protests in USA were not about racism but a subtle ploy to implant “microchips” into citizens as a means of controlling them.
“It’s not about the guy that died; it’s not about ‘Black Lives Matter’,” Oyakhilome said in a program broadcast on LoveWorld titled ‘Global Day Of Prayer’.
“It’s part of the game. They want to come in with the alternative method for security – total control with microchips. That’s what it’s about,” he claimed, adding that police would be ‘disbanded’ and everyone would be forced to have a ‘microchip’ implanted into them.
“Look at the people rampaging on the streets – they are not black people… It is not about racism,” he asserted without any corroborating evidence.
Oyakhilome made several other disturbing allegations, insisting that the guidelines given by the government to reopen the church were not guided by science but rather an attack on the church.
“Wearing facemasks is dangerous for your health. How can we know this and prescribe it? I have told you of the dangers of social distancing. It’s inhuman… There is no science behind it,” he stated in the broadcast.
Oyakhilome described the ‘lockdown’ as illegal and said it was actually citizens getting ‘locked up’.
“The lockdown was wrong and, in most instances, illegal,” he continued. “The truth of the matter is around the world, we were imprisoned… It was house imprisonment.”
“This fraud must be judged by God,” the controversial pastor continued, claiming that many pastors were actually getting paid to advocate for the closure of churches to the governments.
“Go ahead. Build the concentration camps and call them isolation centres. Pay for them or get paid – because now you have a contract,” he said, warning that no Christian pastor should “profit” from the situation.
Pastor Chris further insisted that 'virtual prayer' could not replace physical laying on of hands, reiterating his recent statement that pastors should not be restricted from 'laying hands' on congregants when services resume.
Oyakhilome’s rhetoric in the aftermath of the coronavirus outbreak has become increasingly divisive and erratic, with many labelling him a ‘conspiracy theorist’.
The broadcast in which he made the allegations on Friday 26th June 2020 has since been removed from Oyakhilome's YouTube channel although other versions of it can still be viewed online.
I think Pastor Chris needs prayers more than the insults people are gleefully pouring out here. Something seems to be tearing him up within, some kind of depression.
If not for the covi19 yawa, millions of haters would have organised street carnivals in different parts of the country over the downfall of 'their prime enemy'
edoairways: Oga you are one embarrassing yourself. Freeze criticize flamboyant lifestyle yet he eat dine with fraudster. He is so a hypocrite who doesn't practice what he preach
Typical desperate bad belle haters running all over the place...
edoairways: They are not assumptions they are real fact. Hush puppy was overwhelmed by the wealth he had acquired. He has been monitored for over 4 months before he was caught.
Freeze was the one monitoring him right? Or the people monitoring him were reporting directly to Freeze?
edoairways: Daddy freeze knew period. It was so obvious with the way puppy spends, the likes of Dangote don't display such on the internet yet they are well known. Even most of our politicians aren't foolish to display their wealth on social media. These are facts Mr.
'Fact' based on 'assumptions'. You're very learned sir!
edoairways: Hush puppi has been a fraudster right from time. Daddy freeze knew about it so stop all these stories
And do you have any meaningful evidence that Freeze knew Hush was a fraudster a year ago or could it just be you just vomited this nonsense assumption out of your head and believe it to be a fact?
Look look, just like I told you before, if you want to hate Freeze, you have a right to hate him. But quit embarrassing yourself with these shallow-minded allegations you're desperately spewing.
edoairways: Here you go again, hush puppi lived a flamboyant life as a result of fraud, why didn't he chastised him? Why did he dinn with him? Why was freeze selective in the pastors he criticized? Do you know that since he became friend with Apostle Johnson Suleman, he rarely critic him?
Are you for real? Only about a week ago was it confirmed and made public that hushpuppy was a fraudster. Now here you are, asking why Freeze agreed to dine with him over a year ago instead of chastising him for fraud? Freeze must really be some kind of omniscient voodoo priest to have known the fellow was into fraud a year ago. Please tell me, does this your logic really make any sense to you?
By all means, if you want to hate or insult Freeze, you reserve a right to do that and you owe no one an explanation for your preference. But you don't have to embarrass yourself trying to justify your prejudice using this lame Hushpuppy example.
edoairways: He preach against pastors living extravagant lifestyle yet he supports hush puppi style of living. Isn't that hypocritical?
The last time I checked, Freeze preached against pastors who live extravagant opulent lifestyles from moneys they collect money from their poor congregation (especially using spiritual blackmail / coercion) without giving anything tangible back in form of welfare to their members and society at large. I rememeber Freeze chastising preachers who live lavishly at the detriment of their members and society; I dont remember him ever stating it is wrong for an individual who works and earns their money to live a good life. If i'm wrong, can you be kind enough to show me any audio or video or even written evidence where Freeze said it was bad for a person who earned their money genuinely to live a lavish life?
With the rate at which investments are popping up in the north, shows the government hidden agenda.
Why north, what happened to the other geo political zones in the country, I can confirm that 90% of Investment in Nigeria since buhari took over are residing in the north..this is bad for Nigeria Outlook
Who the Bleep would be willing to put his money in a region which is politically destabilized, Insecurity is at the forefront...
Building a refinery in a region that has no business with oil extraction while oil producing state are languishing in xxxxxx
Smithkafors: You guys have chosen to be naive, what is E-moneys name doing there?.Instead of to seek informations, you guys have remained in ignorance. Why not stroll to Apapa and ask them what E-moneys does.Do you guys even know the amount of money people make from clearing?,there is a license you have to pay about 5billion naira to belong to that category.Am done talking, you guys should be careful before they use una shine!.
Lol... Yeye dey smell!... Clearing indeed! Maybe you would be kind enough to explain to us how he's the first to do clearing business in Apapa.
Flairoqy: If you observed, I refuse to quote your response until now because I'm not a type to argue on the keyboard, if I don't know I read to learn and if I know I share, if you argue I let you be. you had the trouble to comprehend my POV, my quote never said the virus is a SCAM, I am very reasonable to conclude that, I only watched the video and judged it by what I saw, I compared other patients from part of the world to ours, I compared Isolation centers of other nations to ours, even China has patients dancing for the purpose of exercises but it was mild, that viral video looked so unbelievably loose guarded, and I said covid-19 patients are to prone difficulty breathing, these ones have either fully recovered or not sick at all. that this OP was a real patient doesn't mean NCDC is not playing politics with the number, my mom is a hospital health assistant, national hospital Isolation center is not far from her ward, I wanted to volunteer myself for covid-19 health assistant but she declined, u think I'll say the virus is a SCAM? I only didn't answer you earlier because I noticed you can't convey you message without having insult who you're trying to enlighten, but maybe you get my point now.
Apologies for the long read... You comment of course didn't say the virus was a scam, but correct me if I'm wrong, your point is that those you saw in the videos of the Nigerian isolation centre, dancing energetically and eating cheerfully could not possibly have been real covid19 patients (or they may be recovered patients) because real covid19 patients should be prone to at least some breathing difficulties. The point myself and some others have tried to explain to you is that your assumption is wrong! A very important point to note is that the majority of corona virus carriers show absolutely no symptoms even till they become negative. Some others show mild symptoms and less than 10% get serious (i.e. the stage where they suffer severe breathing difficulties and may need ventilators).
You keep saying you watched videos of patients from other parts of the world and the situation doesn't compare to the Nigerian case. Every country has a different approach to handling the pandemic. I live in the UK and here they don't even have isolation centres like we do in Nigeria. If you experience some symptoms or think you've been in contact with the virus, you will be tested. If it returns positive, you will be advised to stay at home and avoid going out for 2 weeks so as not to spread the virus (the govt trusts you to do the right thing). A patient will only be permitted in the hospital ward only if their situation becomes serious. So when the news shows you a video of covid19 patients in the UK, you only get to see the reality of the less than 10% of the patients whose cases are serious; the remaining 90% (who you dont get to see) remain in their homes and would obviously be singing and dancing too.
Nigeria has a different approach to managing the virus; if anyone tests positive in Nigeria, they are taken straight to an isolation centre, symptoms or no symptoms. Those you see dancing energetically in Nigerian isolations centres are mostly the asymptomatic patients or patients with mild symptoms (who actually are in the majority). If those folks dancing were to be in the UK, they would have been self isolating in their homes.
EdmundDantes: The virus affects people differently. If you read the story well, only two out of eleven had the respiratory difficulty. Some of the kids were even doing online schooling. The kids had the energy to do that they could as well had had the energy to dance.
It's actually surprising that up till date, some people still struggle to understand this very simple concept.
Flairoqy: I remember addressing a viral video online, pointing this particular respiratory tract infection, and why if someone had contacted the virus, they couldn't dance rather they'd lay face down due to difficulty breathing, until one obailala like that insulted me. maybe he can get clarity now @obailala
I'm sorry if you took my last message as an insult. But unfortunately, the same lack understanding which you exhibited before, you seem to still be carrying it about till now.
So from all that you just read, the lesson you could gather from it is that "because the author suffered respiratory difficulty, so therefore ALL covid19 patients MUST also have breathing difficulty"? If the person doesn't degenerate to the stage of breathing difficulty, then the person cant possibly have the virus?
I'm sorry my last message sounded like an insult. But if you still dont get it, then I dont think I have anything more to say.
masterP042: Covid 19 is not a scam. But the fact is that it was overhyped. The complete or partial lockdown of the economy was a very big mistake. It was more like killing a fly with a sledge hammer. And the impact we'll suffer for years to come more than the actual virus.
We should always try to stay safe, especially those with hbp, diabetes or some serious health issues, also the aged above 60 yrs. Let's eat healthy and live a good lifestyle and covid won't be a problem.
Overhyped? We should only be thanking our stars the disease isnt spreading as fast in Nigeria as it is in other climes. If people started dying on the streets like it happened in some European countries, you think Nigeria would have recovered?
When soldiers lose confidence in the abilities of their commanding officers to lead, that already is the end of the war for that army. If the fossil in Aso Rock was truly a soldier as claimed, he should know this and do the needful to boost the confidence of the soldiers. But then, the man remains nothing but a lifeless fossil just occupying a sensitive space.
EngineerBode: When Buhari became president, he made Nigeria to be a member of Islamic countries union. Let him go and collect the $1.5bn from there and leave Christian America alone
You cannot despise someone and be collecting aid from the person
tevinsolt: Yes the projections are lofty but it's not impossible. In fact China builds 6000km of road every year, and I believe a country like Nigeria needs an aggressive approach towards infrastuctural development. It is not a secret that Nigeria and that in fact most african nations are far behind in this regard. I'd want to set Nigeria apart and possibly open a new frontier as to what's possible on the continent. Tackling this particular issue of lack of road and rail infrastructure will open the economy to wild opportunities. It'll turn Nigeria into a haven for retail giants like Amazon, Walmart, Apple, Automobile companies and list goes on. If we do well, It'll expose new business opportunities for local civil engineering firms in neighboring countries and beyond.
Of course we're all aware of the benefits of these things. But like I said before, even Britain which is 100 times richer than Nigeria cant achieve that feat in 4 years. You havent still explained how you're going to raise the funds for these massive projects, except you'd be borrowing 10 times more than what Bubu plans to borrow.
Several people asking whether this is constituency project or his personal pocket, could it be these people cant read where it says the church is in Cameroon?
AMvanquish: Start with National Assembly. Make it a Unicameral legislature or at least slash their salaries/Allowances by 60%. The monies this country has lost in the name of Constitutional projects. Oh God. That place is an event center , most of them are come, chop and go attendees.
Also, the Oronsaye Report should also be implemented Asap.
They can start from there.
The real problem is, will the NASS rogues ever vote to make themselves redundant?
