LudaChriz:If you want to see Batman, just commit a crime at night in Gotham city. If you want to see Miss Ngene, just be patient till the eve of election. ![]() |
hush15:When a road is concessioned, it becomes the duty of the 'owners' to rehabilitate the road and maintain it. The concessionnaire will face a fine if they allow any section of the road degrade without fixing it on time. |
hush15:Not every road will be concessioned, the taxes can take care of other roads not mentioned ehich make up the majority. By the way, how many people pay taxes in Nigeria and how much taxes do they even pay? In countries where people pay taxes from their noses, they still toll some roads. Your problem seems to be that private people will 'profit' from roads, not minding that the roads would be made motorable. With the roads being the dilapidated torture channels and death traps which they currently are in the hands of govt, does it actually make you feel better just knowing that no private person profits? |
adams123:Yep! I'll privatise those big carcasses we call public universities and they will do better than they're currently doing. |
Badonasty:Guess what? as bad as PHCN services are today, it would have been worse if it were under govt control - just something you should think about. And yeah, PHCN privatisation might have been badly executed, but the privatisation still remains the BEST option. |
One filthy idiot would soon call for the arrest of the person who made this statement. |
SmartPolician:Yeah that's right! And the reason the company works efficiently is because Shell (I think) operates it. I wouldnt want to imagine what would become of NLNG if the largest shareholder (NNPC) were to be the operators. |
Badonasty:In countries where things work, that's how it is done. YES of course, investors are out to make money, and that's why they will make things work so their income wouldn't stop flowing. The only reason we have a functional telecommunications system in Nigeria from mobile calls to internet is because that sector is under private hands. And yeah, just like mobile telecoms, if we want things to work in Nigeria, we should be ready to pay for things. There's no alternative. |
osomegbe:If possible, YES! Starting with the National Assembly! Govt sgouldnt be funding those people. |
hush15:Whether they allocate it to themselves, it would still be better off in private hands than under govt control. How well has your governments managed anything since 1960? |
hakeem4:A type that works. We need to stop deceiving ourselves with this our fake, unworkable socialist/welfarist system. |
IamPlato:Covid19 which spread like widfire in other countries miraculously cannot possibly be spreading fast in Nigeria because of what exactly? Because tou believe NCDC wants to make money? You do not think with the contagious rate of the disease (as seen around the world), Nigeria must even have more than the published numbers due to our low testing rate? Anyway, the stupidity of those who keep saying or inferring that covid19 is fake isnt in doubt; it's actually a global phenomenon, a pandemic on its own widely termed Covidiocy and carriers are called Covidiots! |
24SEVEN:The key point to note is that nothing operated by Nigerian govt works. The only reason we have phones or internet in Nigeria today is cos that sector is run wholly by private companies. The only govt establishment which works well in Nigeria today is NLNG, but that's because it's wholly managed/operated by the IOCs. If the sale of refineries by OBJ to a serious individual like Dangote wasnt reversed by Umaru, Nigeria wouldnt currently be importing 99.9%% of its petroleum products (regardless of how bad that privatisation may have been handled). Have the refineries been faring better under govt control?... This needs no answer. In summary.... Has privatisation been done properly in the past in Nigeria? NO! Can privatisation be done properly? YES Even if privatisation is executed poorly, do the assets/establishments have a better chance of survival under private hands? YES! |
24SEVEN:Privatisation has to be done properly |
photon3106:Did I say it was helping me? Was only hailing your excessive sense! |
Benwallt: photon3106:And in your respective wisdom, covid19 which is spreading rapidly in other countries miraclulously cannot just possibly be spreading fast in Nigeria because of what exactly? Na oversense dey worry una! |
Seerade029:Nigeria should have far more than 17000 cases. We aren't just testing enough. |
yaki84:If it has viable economic value, YES! Govt will mainly be involved in regulation. |
IamPlato:You're actually the very unwise one for thinking there's anything strange or unusual about covid19 having similar symptoms with malaria. Do a basic google search and find out about covid19 symptoms yourself; you dont have to wait for NCDC to tell you anything. By the way, considering the very low testing rate, Nigeria should actually have far more than 17000 cases. |
Good idea! If I were the president of this country, everything would be privatised; from roads to railways, trains, airports, universities and even some govt hospitals. |
Murketeer:Lol... Overhyping you call it right? You're obviously very late to the party. Warfare in 2020 isnt all about guns and bombs, you obviously dont realise the sheer economic power and stronghold China has on the whole world today. You simply dont understand the size of China's economy and how it can manipulate the world with that. Then when we proceed to physical warfare, you clearly still dont get what it means for a country to be a nuclear power. China's defence budget is next only to the US and its overall military firepower is next only to the US and Russia; China also keeps expanding its fire power so rapidly, even the US is worried. |
Buliwyf: richeeyo:@richeeyo, No offence but you actually sound more like the kid here for even remotely thinking Britain (regardless of whatever allies they have) could dare going to war with a nuclear enabled economic world power like China . And by the way, you think it's only Britain that has allies? |
pocohantas:Haha... trust me, this issue has been extensively debated by the 'council' and resources were released to conduct extensive experimentation. Of course those ingredients and processes you mentioned help to give it a richer taste, but you see that unique party taste? The burning of the rice is the key key factor which produces that aroma. A lot of people may say firewood is the reason, but from research, all the firewood really does is to burn the food at the bottom and sides of the pot. I agree with you, food has been burning in homes, but 'burn' pass 'burn'! |
pocohantas:@pocohantas After intensive research on the secret behind party jollof rice, I stumbled upon something which I can tell you with absolute confidence is the only magic ingredient - FIREWOOD. All those other ingredients you mentioned are dispensible. Following further research on the 'how' and the 'why' firewood does the magic, I discovered something else; firewood always burns the sides of the pot. In summary, the real taste of party jollof comes from burning the rice. |
This is a very lousy excuse written in the most unprofessional way. Even if president Buhari himself was the one who boarded the plane, the fact remains that the flight was approved for someone else and they breached the law by flying different passengers. |
Ooe33:Thank God I'm not the only one in this anger. I'm still amazed at how reading a mere story (which is probably fiction) could get me so infuriated; I almost just smashed a glass cup after reading the story. ![]() |

IlovePMB:Lol... I already accepted I was being foolish from the very moment I responded to the comment of a useless fool. You know what they say about fighting a pig? But then, this foolishness is only for a while, unlike yours which is inborn and generational. It is well with your family! ![]() |
IlovePMB:Lol... anumanu... I am from Imo state too. If it pains you so much that ApC rules Imo state, go drown yourself at Ota mmiri... Bloody PDP losers!... |
IlovePMB:Oga quit trying to mask your political sentiments and prejudices under the cloak of 'patriotism', you aren't talking to children; stop politicising a tragedy. Everyone knows there's a Fulani herdsmen problem all over the place, show us how critical you've been of other neighbouring governors from your useless party who have also performed extremely badly at protecting their states. Don't give me that crap about being concerned only about Imo state; Imo isn't an Island. You can't be so concerned about Imo state but show absolutely no regard for next door neighbours like Abia and Enugu. A governor who you obviously hate just got into power weeks ago, you call for his immediate sack following one isolated incident of terrorism; you haven't even cared to know what his response would be or how the issue would be handled, infact you even basically inferred that Uzodimma is the reason the attack happened in the first place.... You haven't shown a tiny fraction of this same animosity towards leaders of neighbouring states ruled by the other party where the attacks are more frequent and with zero response, but you claim you aren't being political? I'm not only ashamed of sharing a country with people like you too, I'm also ashamed of sharing a state with cunning humans like yourself. Nonsense! |
IlovePMB:Yes thank God you know this is roughly the first time a fulani incident is being recorded in Imo state; it's definitely not a trend. But these same herdsmen have been killing people in other SE states, worse of them is Enugu state where a major massacre was done not too long ago by the terrorists. Since you want to blindly politicise the incident in Imo, kindly also tell us how many times you called for the removal of your useless Ugwuanyi or Ikpeazu who incidently belong to your useless PDP? Yeye dey smell! |
NaijaRoyalty:Key point to note; you only started 'hearing' of them when Buhari became president because that was the time politicians wanted you to hear of them - 2015 was the right time the crisis became a useful tool in the hands of politicians. In 2014, fulani herdsmen were ranked 4th most dangerous terror group in the world after ISIS, boko Haram and Taliban. If this was their designation in 2014, do you still think they started causing trouble only in 2015 when Buhari came to power? https://www.csw.org.uk/nigeria-fulanimilitia
