donbenie:Are you indirectly suggesting that Nigeria doesnt grow rice, or that rice farming isn't thriving in Nigeria all because a lazy twitter handler chose to use a picture they picked off the internet for illustration? |
izzou:My point is this, what exactly is the big deal that a lazy twitter handler picks a random picture off the internet to make an illustration?... Just be honest, would you have really thought this to be an issue if this wasnt a political WE vs THEY matter?... just be honest |
dearpreye:I'm stupid because I said there's no biggy about using a picture off the internet for illustration right?.... Nigeria had rice farms even before APC existed, so are you saying Nigeria doesn't plant rice now simply because some lazy folk handling a twitter account couldnt bother about googling up a Nigerian picture in his illustration?.... Is that what you call wisdom?... And is that the reason you think it makes sense to call me stupid this morning?... |
izzou:If I specifically say "this is a picture of MY car stand" and then I use another picture off the internet, that just me being lazy and dumb (especially if I truly have a real car dealership). But if I just say Im into car sales and I put up a random picture on my advert, there's nothing wrong with that. I just went back to that picture on the tweet, I couldnt find where it specifically said the farm in the picture was Nigeria. But then, I dont expect you to understand this cos you're living off emotions right now; it's political argument season. This is just a political season when everyone hangs on to straws, people pick up meaningless things and make a mountain out of it in the most ridiculous ways without even knowing. So I understand why this thread exists. |
izombie:Sorry oo.. Nigeria does not plant rice. Its all fake propaganda. Hope I've now called a spade a spade? |
izzou: AdelG:So if I'm a car dealer, and I use a picture I picked off the internet on my website, it automatically means my car sales business is propaganda? Lol... like I said before, I was just laughing at the mumuness of this thread and mumuness of the comments in it. Political seasons like this can be amusing when people start making clownish political arguments as seen on this thread. @AdelG, yes oo, I'm ab illiterate abeg no vex. Nigeria does not plant rice, that's why those sleazy political charlatans had to steal an indian picture off the internet cos they couldn't locate any rice farm in Nigeria. |
izzou:I'm not supporting anything, I'm just laughing at the mumuness of the thread. Everything now is a political tool for and against. Abi even you sef believe say dem no dey plant rice for Nigeria? |
freshdude99:Oga there is nothing nonsensical about what I said. If you dont understand me, ask so you can learn. If you've found yourself surrounded by only dull engineers all your life, then it's a pity. But I'm sorry, I'm not one of those around you. |
This political season is just amusing. Is the Op suggesting that Nigeria growing rice is a lie because a picture art was taken off the internet? |
Reference:This was harsh ![]() ...but it remains the fact. |
Agugbadin:The energy you need to split water molecules is more than whatever energy the hydrogen gas can produce. That's why it isnt a viable energy option yet. |
Reference:Whatever you can possibly add would need to be replenished from time to time. And if that's the case, then we really just can't say the generator runs on water. If element X needs to be added from time to time to energise the water, then it means the generator runs on a fuel called X. However you look at it, you can't create energy from an inert substance like water. |
As an engineer myself, I know static water cannot produce any power, but nevertheless, kudos to the chaps not only for having creative minds, but also for being able to practicalise their creativity even without any form of support or encouragement. |
I know nothing about this, but apologies for finding your problem uniquely amusing. ![]() Hopefully you get the answers you seek here. |
Amumaigwe: Amumaigwe: Amumaigwe: gare:I'm sure both of you haven't made any attempt to watch the short video which is all over the internet, but you rather just choose to just insult people because you were probably brought up to see insulting people as an honorable thing to do. This is a very short video of less than 3 minutes. I understand some people have a problem affording internet data, so if that's the case for you guys, just forward to 01:50 cos that's where he made the statement. If you can bother to watch the full 3 mins video, you would also hear where he mentioned that it would be madness for him to own houses in places he doesn't live. Get some manner, you don't know who I am and I don't know who you guys are. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzdppdP6SrY |
Shezkid:I thought you were going to pick out flaws in what I said, but then, I was just being too ambitious by expecting an olodo to have a meaningful issue based response; that's obviously too much for your type of brain. |
Shezkid:You brag about your reading abilities, but where you have obviously failed is in selecting what you read. You are like an olodo student who was given FAKE expo, and he's all over the place bragging about how well he read and copied it. There are different videos of a man making a simple and clear statement; but a spokesperson comes up now to modify the statement by adding "in Nigeria", and you actually think you are smart by sticking to a written statement over a live video?... Congratulations on your special intelligence! |
gare:Are you aware there are videos of the statement being made online and he clearly never mentioned "in Nigeria"? So why exactly are you attacking a person for going by the original statement? |
chidissolomon:I hate this argument because almost everyone involved is sentimental and emotional, so objectivity is scarce. But let me just assume some people can still be objective. Obi did not say Onitsha was the only place he owned a house in Nigeria; rather he said the only place he owned a house was Onitsha. In the same interview, he also explained how he turned down the request of friends to buy houses in south Africa and the US because he believed it was 'madness' to own houses in places he doesn't live. There are about 2 different events where he made the same statement and the videos are online. This episode of denial or appending "in Nigeria" are totally unnecessary and ridiculous. If there's anything, at least no one has accused him of stealing any money, but the fact remains that his statement about owning a house only in Onitsha was an unnecessary lie. |
Aufbauh:This is the simple point. There's no law anywhere in the world which prevents a wealthyman from owning as many houses as he wants anywhere in the world. But coming to the public to claim you only have a house in onitsha was an unnecessary lie. Carlyscales: Shezkid:What exactly did the person you guys quoted say wrong?... The statement by Obi was made in public and there are videos of it everywhere. He clearly said he only had a house in onitsha, he never alluded directly or indirectly that he was referring to Nigeria only; as a matter of fact, in the same speech, he actually talked about his friends asking him to buy houses in the US and South Africa and his response was that "it would be madness to have a house in a place he doesn't live." Funny how sentiments and desperation can make people fling objectivity. You guys should take a chill pill and stop sweating; at least nobody anywhere laid any allegation that he stole the money, Obi still remains a candidate to beat. |
Pekele007:Animal. |
kaluxy007:As I read in the news, most funds recovered are still locked down in litigation ans yes, they arent significant compared to the noise made about them. Its not easy recovering what has already been spent and even for the ones recovered which are still in court, you cant spend what isnt yours yet. Secondly, significant amount of recovered funds were used to finance deficits in the 2016 and 2017 budgets. You cant spend money in 2016/2017 and still expect to have it in 2018 can you? |
Pekele007:Starting a conversation with an insult shoes first of all that you're a mannerless, poorly brought up waste. And then, if you can read, the comment I responded to asked why recovered loot wasnt used to finance whatever it is the $2.8bn is being borrowed for. You then insultingly start blabbing about $323million because according to the gutter school you went to, 320 = 2800. |
ahukannakate: Nolongthing3669:How much exactly is "ALL" let's see if it compares to the amount in the topic? Cos the last time I checked, recovered loot wasn't even up to N100bn but some people keep expecting the so called recovered loot to build the entire Europe in Nigeria. |
PassingShot:@Passingshot, The other day it was declared that about N1.2trillion and N1.6trillion was released for capital projects in 2016 and 2017 respectively; highest figures ever released for this purpose in Nigeria's history. It is also noted that about 100% of these amounts were borrowed (as the country still struggles to raise revenue to meet up the gigantic recurrent bill); so the question of "why the country has to borrow money" is already answered. But where the problem really lies is in the inability of the government to simply explain or define the exact projects where these funds have been channelled to. Why is that so impossible? Why is it so difficult (or impossible) for the entire APC government apparatus to employ a couple of persons to produce a comprehensive list of infrastructural projects across the federation where these funds are currently being channeled to?... Why is it impossible to profuce a dossier highlighting all the ongoing infrastructural projects with pictures of progress?... I imagine that would be a more proactive, pragmatic and responsible way to silence cynics without all these back and forths. There's a lot of irresponsible opposition going on presently, but you cannot dismiss the fact that some pertinent questions are being asked which no one seems to be able to answer convincingly. |
Lol.. The man has been misfiring lately. |
naijapips02:Peter mentioned that it would be 'madness' if he owns a house in a place/country he doesn't live in. His exact words on the house issue "...the only place I own a house as Peter Obi is in Onitsha..." Simply forward to 1:55 (incase you struggle with data) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzdppdP6SrY Shameful how people see white and still desperately call it black all for the sake of sentiments; whatever happened to just honourably 'ignoring' an issue so it can die down naturally? It's not a crime in any constitution to own even a thousand houses in different parts of the world, but the above statement from Obi was an unnecessary lie. That notwithstanding, I've always been his supporter from as far back as 2002 irrespective of his political party and regardless of whatever white lies he drops here and there; he remains someone I would like to see in Aso Rock by any means. I didn't need to look twice to know thatYes I am an APC supporter over PDP any day cos I detest PDP; except of course I see a worthy candidate and then the allegiance may be reconsidered. Regarding your silly tribal / Yoruba rant, please I'm not in the mood for childish nonsense this morning. |
naijapips02:What tribe do you think I am?.... That's the first point to prove who is really stupid here. Tribalism has completely ruined many minds; that's why folks like you think everyone is equally stupid to play your retàrded tribal games. Sometimes I even wonder how old some of you folks who just jump online to insult people are. Supporting a political candidate doesnt mean I should see white and call it black. There are some needless arguments that can easily be ignored to avoid making a fool of one's self. Obi exact statement reads, "the only place I have a house officially built is Onitsha..." The meaning of that statement was clear and there's no need for any semantics or English arguments to twist the meaning of the statement. He made the statement to drive home a point, but the statement in itself obviously wasnt true 'literally.' That I am an Obi supporter doesnt mean I have to come online to insult strangers like a child without home training all because I want to defend an analogy. |
Obi is a leader I respect, someone I'd love to see as the main occupant of Aso Rock regardless of anything. But on this one, just like on the wrist-watch issue, there's nothing to defend here. Obi's statement was clearly (and intentionally) misleading. There's no argument of semantics or English comprehension here. Obi's statement was made clearly to send a message that he owned no properties elsewhere besides in Anambra; a statement which we all knew can nevet be true for any wealthy Nigerian. |
Lol... what kimd of ogogoro has this one taken |
baliyubla:Between 2010 and 2015, the same Bokoharam murdered over 5000 innocent men, women and children. How about you praying this your stupid prayer for all those who directly or indirectly supported that government of PDP between 2010 and 2015 which sat back and watched while a ragtag group of riff raffs metamorphosed into an international formidable terrorist group?... Why dont you also pray for their families to also mourn like the families of the thousands killed by bokoharam in those years? |
rmo19: This is funny and sad at the same time. The other day, the other guy had to hide Ote-Dollars in his cap. Now this one is loading stuff inside agbada. The sad part of all this is, nothing will happen! |
