ganisucks:Do you honestly think it will be a good thing if govt bows to such demands by faceless people? Do you honestly think that would portend well for the govt and the country going forward? |
Gas powered again... Havent we learnt enough lessons already? I'm sure benue has substantial volumes of coal. |
jaymejate:The planned rail is a standard gauge rail line which can accommodate modern high speed trains; not the refurbished pre-1960 narrow gauge line which you are presently riding on now which can only support slow trains. If the present government can achieve just this, then it will be a nice achievement. |
2after1:I am not in the mood to exchange meaningless words with ...And lest I forget, obu nna gi na ezi n'ulo gi nile bu ezi ohia. |
Hahahahaha.... America visa wahala ![]() While Nigerians in their usual manner were throwing insults around, I had to ask some very pertinent questions when that thread was put up in the front page this morning - Could it be that the dude was under duress?... because I couldn't fathom any single reason why anyone (irrespective of tribe, region, religion or sanity) would want to willingly do a thing like that. |
2after1:And what exactly has this (tribe) got to do with what we are discussing (especially my comment)? Are you by any means suggesting that an Igbo person cannot advocate for people to act maturely?... Is this supposed to be some kind of insult? how old are you? ![]() |
PhockPhockMan:With everyone having camera phones these days, how could 81 people be murdered in cold blood in broad day light on a major road and there are no pictures to support this figure?... Do you know what 81 lifeless bodies look like?... Nigeria would be on fire literally if policemen or soldiers just murder 81 souls in the east just like that. |
Enugu egbuo m! ![]() |
blues20:Lol.. ![]() Nobody is asking you to love anybody, but dont hate; just act like they don't exist and give yourself peace. You would be shocked at the progress we can make with such simple 'ignoring' gesture. |
Rose2014:EVERYONE is selfish when it comes to securing their own meal, NO ONE bothers to look out for the next person when it is time to grab certain benefits and I can assure you, EVERYONE (irrespective of tribe/ethnicity/region) is guilty of this. But then, there are some major common grounds where there needs to be no competition, and it is in these common grounds that unity in purpose can be used to accrue collective benefits. Since we've all been hating ourselves, who the hate don hepp?... and then even young ones are happily carrying on this hate into the next generation all for some short term political benefits?.. We are supposed to be smarter than this, honestly. |
Can we for once just act like we have no differences and live together as one especially in the southern axis?.... I can't imagine how great we can become if the south can for once just be united, even if it's just for a single day. |
logica:It is actually an intentional self inflicted illiteracy. 95% of the people who claim ignorance of the meaning of the phrase 'virtually empty' are actually educated folks; but on this argument, it is more favourable to their political narrative for them to feign being dull. |
Can GEJ compare the 'fullness' of the treasury he received in 2010 to the 'fullness' of the treasury he bequeathed to PMB? I suppose if Buhari grounds Nigeria's foreign reserves to say $2billion by 2019 and hands over that sum for a country of 180 million people, Buhari should also go around and brag about how he didn't leave an empty treasury. Too many intellectual toddlers abound in Nigeria who are intellectually challenged to discern the simple meaning of 'virtually empty,' else GEJ wouldn't be making such a pointless statement one year after. |
Nigeria has no business not being the largest cocoa or cashew but producers. Nigeria is yet to truly show any seriousness in diversification. I am truly disappointed cos I expected that by now there would have been a very aggressive expansion in the agric sector on the state and federal levels and in the private sectors. Apparently oil money is still sweet. |
trailblaiza:"Rubbish lies!.. We now know better... bombing of oil facilities and reducing Nigeria's oil sales to zero will only affect hausa-fulani northerners who own 90% of Nigeria's oil blocks and south-westerners who own the remaining. It cannot affect the SS or SE because the SS and SE dont even gain anything at all from oil." ![]() |
81 people killed last week? |
God help us |
aloeman15: aloeman15:My first comment which you quoted was very simple and clear and that is exactly what I was referring to in my subsequent comments. I was perplexed that a sitting governor could condescend to the shameless level of making such a pointless assertion - blaming the killing of an innocent woman in Kano on Buhari. Once again I ask, what on earth does that have to do with Buhari?.... Regarding the insults, as far as I know, calling Fayose an empty head for making such a pointless assertion is not an insult but just a factual statement. And yeah, I also share the same view for people who for whatever sentimental reasons, agree with that 'particular' statement of Fayose. |
Chigold101:Na wa Oh! Production disruptions in Nigeria have cut up to 1 million barrels per day, yet you think this has no effect, or cannot have an effect on global oil price?.... Are you aware the wildfires in Canada have disrupted just over a million barrels per day, a figure which is very similar to (or even possibly less than) what Nigeria is presently losing to pipeline bombings? I just can't help but wonder if this is a weird form of inferiority complex for one to think that Canadian (Oyibo) oil disruptions can affect world oil prices, but Nigerian oil disruptions (of similar magnitude) cannot possibly affect oil production. Strange kind of reasoning we encounter daily on Nairaland. ![]() |
A major unrest in the Niger Delta is single-handedly capable of shooting up the global price of crude oil up to $70. Several foreign (oil producing) countries definitely have so much to gain from an unrest in the Niger Delta. At this time however, I choose to disagree that the recent spate of pipeline bombings have any foreign links; this is purely a Nigerian internal socio-political problem. |
Saharareporter guys are big clowns ![]() |
These people are really serious about falling the zoo ![]() |
aloeman15:Sorry to burst your bubble but using that Kano woman example to judge buharis leadership was just pure evidence of Fayose being a pathetic air head ranting purposelessly and directionlessly. Only people with similar crude mentalities actually think such an example is sensible in this discourse. |
“Soldiers would enter the home of poor village people and gun them down in cold blood. There is too much of blood-shedding. Look at what they did to that innocent woman in Kano.Abeg what has the case of the woman in Kano got to do with Buhari's government? |
stevedure:The people asked for details of recovered funds and the govt just gave it to them; nothing wrong in that. But apparently, it would be impossible to explain this simple fact to a desperately prejudiced mind. |
elbinmanny:I can never be a slave, slavery has since been abolished from my generation since the days of my fore-fathers. I am a cheerful winner. The only present day slaves we have in Nigeria today are self inflicted mental slaves who have been fighting for phantom freedom from God knows what since their candidate lost an election last year. It's funny how a person who self confesses to be searching for freedom is actually the one claiming someone else is a slave, wonderful!.. ![]() |
Congratulations to the bombers and their supporters! |
Congratulations to the bombers and their supporters! |
xquire:A simple question, did you bother reading the report?.... or like most others you just read the title and proceeded to comment? |
amaechi1:Yeah N78bn is quite substantial, but it's a far cry from what is expected considering the diabolic pillagery which the nation was subjected to in recent years. I just hope and pray the over 3 trillion bit can be concluded and confirmed; that is when I would really roll up my sleeves and dance to a job well done. |
luvinhubby:The govt gave a detailed breakdown of its progress in funds recovery; N78bn is confirmed as recovered while up to 3trillion even though is in hand, is still under investigation and is work in progress. This simple explanation shouldnt be difficult for even a primary school pupil to comprehend. I'm sure you are not a kid, so I am at a loss at how to categorise your poor comprehension skills. |
