PoliticsRe: Masterpiece86's Nigeria Recovers N3.6tr. Vs Mydream23's Nigeria Is Broke! by obailala(m): 2:35pm On Jun 05, 2016
luvinhubby:
Education can never translate to literacy, no matter how one tries.

You say the nation is broke, borrowing 2 trillion to supplement the budget, meanwhile you have 3.4 trillion recovered loot waiting for a bill to spend it while you go borrowing to spend in the already appropriated budget.

Taah, keep quiet !!
You are absolutely right, education isnt literacy. The trillions you mentioned above were rightly labelled as temporary seizures, if education was the same thing as literacy, and if literacy directly translated to wisdom, then you should have known that the FG has no right to spend funds it temporarily seizes from suspects.

the APC led government thrives on propaganda and sensationalism as you put it.the idea behind this expose is to hoodwink Nigerians into believing that such amount was stolen and has been recovered .even international media outlets are reporting it like that.
No I believe it was very clear to anyone from the original report released yesterday that the bulk of the money is just frozen funds belonging to suspects (interim forfeitures); the press release by Lai yesterday explicitly explained that only N78bn is the confirmed recovery. That the media decides to give sensational headlines today, or that Nigerians (both educated and uneducated) have refused to put their basic comprehension skills to use, I think anyone who doesnt comprehend the simple message only has himself/herself to blame.

with this and about 3 trillion in TSA and 2 billion dollars coming from China, they should be able to fund the budget.
so nobody should tell us tomorrow that can't fund the budget because NDA is blowing up pipe lines.

3.4T + 3T(TSA) =6.4T Naira
Loan from China 2 billion dollars
Budget 6.04 T Naira

we are watching!
Only N78bn cash has actually been recovered, this story was actually being twisted for sensationalism. The rest trillions of the money was termed 'interim forfeiture,' made up of mainly funds belonging to alleged looters which were frozen. FG doesnt really have the right to touch those moneys, they still belong to the owners unless a law finds them guilty and orders them to forfeit the cash.

The most corrupt Iwelala and Arouma Ote? Are there no other persons in Nigeria except these people except madam puff-puff Iweala who was forming sick at the meeting to defend her financial looting while gulping down tons of groundnut? She was told to go back and come back later and when she saw that the reps were not buying her lies, she wanted to turn it to a fight as soon as the cameras were rolling. Iweala is corrupt and in any sane country, she should be behind bars now or standing trial for her stealing!
What case do you have against Oteh?

Guess where the buck stops?.... the dully's table. The weak attempt at blaming the masses failed on arrival.

Buhari should be ready to resign in two months if he is without a solution.
It was he who made the 5%/97% statement,
It was Buhari who cancelled the maritime university,
it was Buhari who cancelled the pipeline protection contract,
it was Buhari who further divided the nation with his appointment,
it was Buhari who mobilized army to the creeks despite global calls against it
It was Buhari who dumped the confab reports in the archives

This same Buhari must clean his mess or resign for being utterly unpresidential and the masses should never pay for his actions
Okay sorry it is Buhari's fault. Keep expecting him to resign, after all that is what the pipeline bombers and their worshippers want; they all want buhari to just resign and all these problems would end.

On the contrary, you are the one making a very weak attempt at being smart. I can bet my life that 90% of NDA are most probably Ijaws, they can never be Itsekiris or Urhobos or Isokos, never!... From the list of popular militants; ateke tom, tompolo, asari, gen boyloaf, gen ben, soboma george etc, kindly point out one who is Urhobo or Itsekiri or Isoko or Efik or Ibibio or Edo or Igbo?

By the way, can you please remind me of the name and origins of their spokesperson who always makes statements?

Same way most northern youths supported boko and called them freedom fighters because they believed the haramites were bombing churches, killing Christians and embarrassing jonathan. But it wasnt long before the monster grew too strong to be controlled and turned around on its supposed master. Till now Nigeria is still struggling to clean that mess which grew to what it is today due to the tacit support of most northerners. We just never learn from history in Nigeria.

It doesn't bother your democracy radar that the only people being prosecuted by Buhari are only members of the opposition party.
It's like Obama sending IRS to probe how the Republican party raised and spent money for the past election while going around telling the world how the Democratic party ran such a non corrupt campaign.
Every body would laugh at you, unfortunately Buhari doesn't even understand.
Just a reminder in case you have forgotten, soldiers kept lamenting the lack of simple bullets and were dying like ants in the fight against bokoharam. This was despite the fact that it was on record that billions were released for acquiring weapons.

So dont get it twisted, the efcc is currently investigating what happened to the money meant to procure arms to fight bokoharam; the efcc is not investigating the source of PDP's campaign funds.

Ruke1989:
bros, I think buhari fighting corruption is not actually being resisted. it's the lopsided approach that is being resisted. But if he can sincerely probe someone he appointed into office maybe the NDDC boss, amnesty boss or Niger deltan minister, that will not be viewed as a biased approach. people are only resisting the biased approach to fighting corruption. Nigerians are crying for a probe of past and present leaders
Let us be honest with ourselves and stop being unnecessarily emotional over these things. Buhari since inception has mainly been after only those who shared defense funds and you and I know that was purely a PDP affair. The efcc hasn't really started going after any ex governor or ex-minister so I think those complaining about efcc not investigating people like amaechi or tinubu are totally not being honest with themselves, but just being overly emotional..

As for investigating the current NDDC minister, na wa for you oo... What is there to investigate in someone who only resumed office few months ago and who is still yet to receive first budget?

PoliticsRe: Mega Cities And Super Creeks (pics) by obailala(m): 8:07pm On Jun 03, 2016
Ruke1989:
don't twist it. auditing firms and special anti corruption firms like the EFCC can be specially used by the Federal government to examine the accounts and projects of NDDC for example. The govt doesn't need to pick governors that will increase the corruption since kick back will be paid. presently, there has been reports of senators using their influence to blackmail NDDC directors into approving contracts for them which are never executed. So an independent anti corruption body can stop them giving white elephant contracts to Abuja politicians in the name of NDDC project. The present NDDC corruption is from Abuja and the solution can only come from Abuja
I also said this some years back that the best thing GEJ could have done for the Niger delta would have just been to appoint a very honest person of integrityas the ND minister and NDDC chairman. But in Nigeria, the hands of presidents are usually tied and they mostly end up doing the opposite.

Talking of EFCC to examining accounts, that is exactly what Buhari is doing presently isn't it presently being resisted by the very same Niger deltans?... The minds of people are naturally tuned to see things from the paranoid angle, all most people can see is that an Hausa man is assaulting Niger deltans and then you hear strange arguments like "leave him alone, after all it is our money that he stole," and this is largely a part of the reasons why bombs have been going off everyday.

We are suggesting the way forward for our country.
Am saying strict supervision should be in place and a blue print of development of some years should be clearly laid out for that region so anyone who assumes position of NDDC or whatsoever in that region gets to continue from where his predecessor stopped..
A blueprint exists, it was developed since the days of OBJ. Follwing it is another war on its own.
PoliticsRe: Mega Cities And Super Creeks (pics) by obailala(m): 7:58pm On Jun 03, 2016
Ruke1989:
what we are saying is the Federal government has no excuse. Arab oil was used to develop the United Arab Emirates. So instead of giving cash to cronies of those in power for onward looting in the name of NDDC without supervising what the money is used for, the government should become more proactive by supervising closely the developments in the creek and there should in fact be a 10 or 25 years development plan just like it is done with FCT. Oil money must be pumped into the creek in the form of roads, railways, federal universities (to help wipe ignorance from ijaw youths), Federal hospitals, agencies of government like NIMASA should move to the creek, create working sea ports, fishing companies, boat making industries and access to electricity
There is actually a Niger-Delta development plan/blueprint in existence. I wonder how else the FG could have supervised or monitored these funds; the same thing which happens to funds all over Nigeria is the exact same thing that happens to funds channelled to the development of the ND. Sadly, it has always been fellow ND sons and daughters of the soil that squander and pocket the money meant for bringing the ND masterplan to life.

For a second, just imagine a person llike Buhari appointing 'someone he trusts' (sure you know what that entails grin) to head NDDC or the Niger-Delta ministry?.... As crazy as that may sound, but I can assure you that may just be the only way something tangible can actually be done in the ND; but you and I know that would be resisted with blood.

I don't doubt this bro but I still feel there is a cogent need for supervision especially where should be prioritised..that region needs Govt intervention and its not enough to give billions to govt cronies from that region who donot do anything rather I think their development be clearly mapped out in the Fiscal policy of the Fed Govt. I don't think its impossible to do that.
You talk about NDDC when was that created?
Lastly I don't mean to be spiteful but LAGOS was BUILT with OIL MONEY Under STRICT supervision ,why they don't replicate something like in the creeks?...
So far we are mature in this thread...thank you all
Are you suggesting that the FG should take over the leadership of niger delta states?.... Or are you suggesting that the FG should start appointing governors and senators in the ND region?

Wicked minded leaders who have no blood flowing in their veins undecided if I am to be the President, no city will match Port Harcourt, Uyo, Yenagoa and Warri in aesthetic and urban planning. Imagine Kaduna finer than Port Harcourt undecided shameless and demonic leaders....
The only reason why kaduna can be finer than PH is because Rivers state has been producing useless leaders; I can bet my life that at least in the last 20 years, Rivers state has received 5 times more money than Kaduna. Until we shift away from this primitive way of thinking that one place looks better than the other because of FG, we would continue to torment our minds and will never find the peace we seek because we have been focusing on the wrong enemy.

Lagos was a former FCT, Abuja is the present FCT; only these 2 cities have received federal presence in Nigeria since inception. The beauty or ugliness of any other city in Nigeria is purely a function of the leaders of those cities.
