Hahaha.... This is a brilliant representation of the Nigerian situation. Every single investigated 'big man' always has a way of spinning the issue into a political saga by claiming 'witch-hunt.'

And the most disheartening part is that the ever gullible Nigerian masses are always available to buy into the dubious political twist even as they start defending the same set of vampires who have kept them impoverished for decades.

If this news proves true, then, without any shadow of doubt whatsoever, this is the most IDIOTIC thing a governor in the East can ever do.
Quote me!
WTF don't these so called governors understand about the inevitabiity of a day of reckoning concerning Nigeria's foundations?
Someone mentioned something about the idiocy of using STATE funds to equip a federal agency, and that point is unassailable.
How many federal projects are in Anambra state?
How much has the federal government ever spent on Anambra state that it does not spend ten times everywhere in Nigeria?
What is Obiano trying to prove, and who is he trying to prove that to?
Just when you think these governors have a clue, they do something that proves you totally wrong.
Chukwu ju!
Have you ever complained when a governor donates patrol vehicles and communications equipments to the police in their states?... Are you aware the nigerian police force is also a federal institution just like the nigerian navy?

If you do not understand how donating patrol vehicles to the police or donating patrol boats to the navy who patrol the state's waterways would enhance security in his state, then I am sorry, you and your cc'd friends below seriously need help!

Silly Nnamdi Kanu is somewhere in Malaysia while his fools are on ground being used as pawns. We don't want their madness in Anambra or else we shall decisively deal with them. They should keep their nuisance in Imo and Abia States because the 2 clowns- Uwazulike(MASSOB) and Kanu(IPOD) are from those states.

MASSOB and IPOD stay away from Anambra or we shall give you I.diots Ezu River treatment again.
Which Imo?... tufiakwa...

They've been rejected in Imo a long time ago... they can take their madness to Ariaria

That Jonathan appointed some good brains as ministers does not in any way mean he ran a responsible government; I just wonder how shallow some humans can reason. No one doubts the pedigree of some of the people appointed by GEJ, they were all high fliers in their private capacities before taking up government positions. But the real question is, what happened when they joined the government?... What did they achieve?.... No matter how great a technocrat is, how can you achieve anything when the major focus of the leadership is all about corruption and looting?

The way some people brag about GEJ ministers moving ahead to other jobs, it makes one to wonder if it was GEJ's peculiar competence that made these people who they are or got them to where they are in life. How petty!

With all the hype before and after the general elections by APC about change and a new nigeria devoid of corruption.i find it hard that tickets for governorship polls were given to people as controversial as Slyva(bayelsa) and idris(kogi).not only are they controversial but they have had long runnings with the graft agencies for stealing public funds while they were governors of these states in the past. I know there are ppl on NL who whose stock in trade is come as attack dogs to insult anyone who states the fact, becos of party or individuals.but the truth needs to be stated.
CHange is not a rapid process, Buhari is not a military dictator who can impose candidates so you cannot expect him to dictate who and who emerges candidates in different state party structures.

If you are still wondering what the real change is, just think about the difference between N70million (just approved for the 55th independent anniversary celebration) and N6.6billion which was approved for a similar event in 2010; that is what the change is all about... and don't get it twisted, the change is 'Buhari' and not the other thieves... Nice day ahead!

Politics › Re: How Bukola Saraki's Trial Confirms/Expose The Insincerity Of Buhari And APC by obailala(m): 8:23am On Sep 22, 2015
TonyeBarcanista:
I am 100% in support of the FG's prosecution of Senate President Olubukola Saraki over the allegations levelled against him that borders on falsification of his assets that he declared before the Code of Conduct Bureau in 2003. I believe that people should be held responsible for their actions. However, the ongoing trials of Saraki has exposed the hypocrisy and insincerity of President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the All Progressive Congress.

The Insincerity and Hypocrisy of Buhari
Following the Saraki event may make one be FOOLED into believing that 'Buhari mean business'. The fact on ground is that 'Buhari has just been exposed as an insincere and double-faced leader.

On Sunday, 20 September, Buhari through his spokesman Shehu Garba came out to say the President will not intervene in this Saraki's travails because he has sworn to allow judicial process take its course. In the exact words of Shehu;

The government that made this statement is the same government that killed the judicial process with respect to the N2.8 billion corruption suit that was instituted against exBayelsa state Governor and APC Chieftain Timpre Sylva by withdrawing the charges against the accused which was instituted in 2012 and prosecuted by EFCC. The Sylva case was withdrawn on June 1, 2015 ie three days after Buhari took office as president. This was even to the amazement of the EFCC prosecutor, who bluntly told the Judge that the EFCC was not part of the Justice Ministry's decision http://www.punchng.com/news/fg-withdraws-n2-45bn-fraud-suit-against-sylva-efcc-kicks/ . The withdrawal of that suit paved way for the striking out of similar suit against Sylva by another judge. Today, Sylva is not only free but he's set to pick APC ticket for Bayelsa state governorship contest. Who is the President trying to deceive?

Is it not the same President Buhari through spokesman Femi Adesina that said he will only probe Jonathan's administration and won't go pre-Jonathan's era because he considers it to be "far past"? Didn't Femi Adesina utter these words on July 22?

Obasanjo left power on May 29, 2007 but will not be probed because he belongs to the "far past", while Saraki is being prosecuted with all vigour for offence he allegedly committed in 2003. Which is farther between 2003 (Saraki) and 2007(Obasanjo)? Does that tell sincerity on the part of Buhari?

The Insincerity and Hypocrisy of Osinbajo and APC
It was a surprise that Alhaji Lai Muhammed and other APC chieftains joined the chorus to urge Saraki to appear before the Code of Conduct Tribunal to clear his name. People may be fooled into believing that these APC men means business. But do they?

When ex-CBN Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was indicted for fraud by Financial Reporting Council in March 2014, instead of telling him to respond to the allegation, VP Yemi Osinbajo, Dr. Kanyinsola Ajayi and Kola Awodien approached the court in April 2014 to restrain the FRC, FG and other security agencies from investigating and prosecuting Sanusi. http://www.theguardianmobile.com/readNewsItem1.php?nid=24587. Their prayers were granted by FHC Judge John Tshoho on May 13, 2014. In the words of the Judge...

They shielded Sanusi and NEVER asked him to defend his allegations. Today Sanusi is a monarch.

When Atiku Abubakar was indicted by the Senate and the government of Obasanjo on allegation of financial misappropriation of PTDF fund in 2006/2007 (www.saharareporters.com/2007/02/28/breaking-news-ptdf-scandal-senate-indicts-obj-atiku-impeachment-motion-looms), didn't Lai Muhammed the spokesman of AC(as at 2006) defended him and cried witch-hunt while forgeting issues? Didn't they go ahead to give Atiku the AC flag for 2007 Presidential election? Was Garba Shehu not Atiku's spokesman as at then? Why didn't they tell him to face the allegation? Who is fooling who?

The same Lai Muhammed as spokesman of ACN cried that the FG wanted to use the Code of Conduct Tribunal to silent Tinubu when they arraigned him in 2012. In fact, ALL ACN Governors abandoned governance in their states to accompany "Jagaban" to Abuja all through the trial. When did these men turn anticorruption apostles?

Before Murtala Nyako was impeached in July 2014 on allegation of Corruption, APC Governors, Chieftains and even Chairman Oyegun did not talk about the offence but were accusing Jonathan of witch-hunt. In fact John Oyegun said this

Take a look at them boldened, the same people are telling Saraki to answer to 2003 offence. Is that not hypocrisy? Pa Audu Abubakar is currently facing charges that borders on corruption, but the APC never told him to face his offence. Instead, they rewarded him with party ticket for Kogi Gov'ship poll.

Be not be deceived into believing that the APC and Buhari are ready to fight corruption. Senator Saraki is being prosecuted because APC and Buhari want to seek political vendetta. If Saraki was their ally, he won't be prosecuted.

Finally, Saraki MUST answer to his offence before the Code of Conduct tribunal but President Buhari and the All Progressive Congress must understand that Nigerians see through their insincerity, deception and hypocrisy.

May God Bless Us All
Bro, leave the long epistle, this is simply politics and politics will continue to be politics no matter the area of the world it is being played.

Saraki played dirty politics with reckless abandon, now his opponents are returning the favour with a dirtier jab, Simple!

Goodluck Jonathan was sincere and wanted a legacy bridge and not just any other bridge.

Waiting for its completion
The bridge is being funded from the pocket of South-easterners.

After the massive support the SE gave to GEJ, the only greek gift he gives to us is a bridge which we still have to pay massively for through toll gates for the next 25 years. Even the Lokoja-Oweto bridge over the Benue river was not tolled, but he happily tolled the 2nd Niger bridge because he knew the Igbos would still support him regardless. That is simply man's inhumanity to man!

bamosagie:
Imagine travelling in a commercial vehicle (That is equipped with a functional speed limit device) and you run into insidious depredator (armed roobers or kidnappers or militants/terrorist). of course they wont be using a speed limit device as their vehicle wont be a commercial one. Now fill in the gap.
When you weigh the whole situation, the cost and the benefit, you will understand we have fewer victims of armed robbery than victims of avoidable accidents.

The big question is, do you know how many lives are lost on our roads due to accidents caused by unnecessary speeds?

A simple case study is ABC transport which undoubtedly has the least cases of accidents compared to other major transport companies; do you know why?... It's because they limit the speed of all their vehicles to 80km/h. Now are you trying to tell me that ABC vehicles have more cases of being attacked by criminals than others?
Politics › Re: Transporters At War With FRSC On Speed Limit Device by obailala(m): 10:41am On Sep 21, 2015
All these transporters, are they complaining of the cost or are they complaining of the inability to speed as they like?

I'm in total support of speed limiters in our public transport vehicles, anything to reduce the frequency and magnitude of carnages on our roads is a welcome development.
