You people are disgusting.
What is your business with single women? Did they ask you for help? Did they cry to you about their single status?
Why aren't you just as worried for your single brothers above 28?
You're all very stupid if you think a woman being single at a certain age means her life is worse than anyone else's.
Such retardedd posts littering nairaland.
I agree. This is a feminist cause. If men age discriminate women should also age discriminate!

Some people think Women should be financially independent her husband should not provide for her...

Feminism will create more marriages and liberate men from financial pressures of 'being a man'
Romance / Re: Sudden Increase Of Single Ladies Above 28: Ways Of Salvaging The Situation by Obalende: 11:06pm On Jun 20, 2017
Who are men to think they have a right to discriminate against women on the basis of age?

If men do not want women above a certain then women also do not want men over a certain age! Tit for tat.

The problem though is marriage is no longer an institution suited to modern times in my opinion.

With feminism came female financial independence which a good thing and I support that.

What works today that offers both men and women good deals is have a girlfriend or boyfriend then when old marry...at least uv had ur fun... though not a biblical model but it is what it is.

Good, you are a Canadian and you love your country so what makes you feel you have bragging rights and I don't because I am a Nigerian?

What do you know about the things we enjoy here?

1) We pay very little tax here..

2) Our weather is never ever extreme, in fact we have so many months of good weather.

3) I can open multiple businesses and enjoy many months of tax exemptions

4) I can decide to start any legit business I chose with no questions asked by any authorities, all I need is to fill business opening forms and it is done

5) We actually own houses here without paying mortgage..

6) Land is easily bought here with flexible payment plans if one knows where to go

7) Whatever you do in your house e.g. borehole for water, installing solar panels, or using lister is all up to you

I can go on but I have got other things to do.

I am a Nigerian citizen and a very contented one at that, deal with it.

And this is why government later demolishes such structures 15 yrs later. No tax revenue for public services.

Every country has pros and cons.

CANADA has harsh winters. Most jobs don't pay as high as US. The key with Canada is finding a good job. If you find a good job in Canada stay there, nigeria stay there. if in UK or germany stay there.

Ontario for the most part is a no go area in terms of good jobs unless maybe Ottawa - forget Toronto... too expensive.

Abroad/ USA/ UK/ Canada is good if you have a good stable job.
The advantage Lagos/ Nigeria has is lower rents. Abroad has too much financial pressure - high rent, high taxes.
But these do not affect high earners much...

Mcowubaba:
Depending on your location, work place, Church..
You can make friends with the Nigerians there..

You can also join some African associations..
There are many groups on Facebook, there's a thread in Nairaland About Nigerians in UK

Any Redeemed, winners/living faith or KICC Church u go, be sure to see many Nigerians.

Go for African programs, and entertainment shows.
AYLIVE, Basket mouth in London etc

There is no special meeting place or social platform.

Start from your school, flat or workplace as the case maybe. Or relocate to South East London grin...

Baba, focus on your Hustle Jare.. Forget excessive friendship

its not excessive friendship.... london is quite isolating for someone without a family. even platonic acquaintance could help a guys hustle. tbh i think church is not good advise. I would recommend retaining ur friends in nigeria thru social media eg whatsapp. they will be more reliable as london is a transitionary town for hustlers which i think is a bad culture.

Moreover its best to move to these western countries as a couple... as a singleton is a bad idea as the loneliness can even adversely affect ur career.

Where do u think i got the name chiraq from lol grin
chicago has the same murder rate per 100 or 1000 ppl as iraq, cant remember the exact statistics.

But thing is naija might actually have a much higher murder rate, its all in the official statistics.
Like i said over there is mainly gun violence, but here in naija, beating, stabbing, slapping to death poisoning (like the news that made fp about an eatery owner poisoning his customers) and many other ways of murdering someone, in this case dont forget to add hit and runs and crushing by heavy vehicles and hundreds of jungle justice cases that dont reach nl or any other news source, i even said that gun violence in naija is even too high for a country that does not have up to 20 gun owners per 100 ppl

The problem is that if 100 murders happen in nigeria, only maybe 10 will make the news and maybe 5 will end up being recorded and the official records will be further lowered by govt to make them look good, while in chicago maybe 95 out of 100 will be reported and all 95 will be recorded..
The whole problem lies with the statistics.

I believe if the record keeping in naija was on the same level as chicago or any other state in US, then even u would end up being shocked at the real values
But people live in Nigeria long - they have not all died. Its just a question of praying to God & being careful.

As e dey so i hear say war dey my town say them don off person for uyo, i just see as street quiet when i go my normal hangout, my guys wey i de normally meet for bar don emter hiding mode even me nor know where dem dey

And all these things no even b for where boko haram dey o

Naija really dangerous eh, na only God de keep us wen still dey alive

Calabar wey dem de off person almost at same rate as detroit or any other gang infested city for US

And all these na for country wey dey officially at peace
and we dey same ranking with afghanistan and syria

Come imagine if war break out now
E mean say naija for just be wasteland

Im also using this chance to beg u ppl, with what i have said above, all u tribal and religious warriors on nl and beyond, drop ur weapons and embrace peace or naija will reach top of that list one day embarassed

not necessarily. take just Chicago, it has more shootings per day than the entire federation of Nigeria combined. Nigeria's own is general insecurity and robberies. Add Missouri, Atlanta and you have a living warzone/hell.

In the first two months of 2017, there had been over 450 shootings and many homicides in just Chicago alone!

• About 1:20 p.m. on the West Side, a 21-year-old man was shot in the 5800 block of West North Avenue in the Austin neighborhood. The man was walking on the street when he was shot in the lower leg by someone in a brown Impala. He was taken in good condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.

• About 6:50 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was shot in the 2200 block of South Central Park Avenue in the Little Village neighborhood. The boy suffered a graze wound to the head and was treated at the scene, police said.

• Just before 9:10 p.m. on the Far South Side, a 25-year-old man was shot in Calumet Heights. He was riding in a vehicle in the 9100 block of South Oglesby Avenue when someone shot him in the back. He got to Advocate Trinity Hospital and was listed in serious condition.

• About 9:20 p.m. on the West Side, a 29-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 5200 block of West Ferdinand Street in the South Austin neighborhood, police said. He got to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park where his condition was stabilized.

• On the South Side about 10 p.m., a 39-year-old man got himself to Advocate Trinity Hospital with gunshot wounds to the right thigh and left foot after a shooting in the 9000 block of South Greenwood Avenue. His condition was stabilized.

On the Far South Side about 8:50 p.m., 24-year-old Devell Coleman was killed in the Brainerd neighborhood. He was on the sidewalk in the 9100 block of South Emerald Avenue when someone in a dark-colored sedan opened fire and hit him in the head and back.

He went to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, and he was pronounced dead. The medical examiner said Coleman lived on the block where he was shot.

About 8:35 p.m., a 31-year-old man was shot in the head and back in the 11400 block of South Ada Street in the West Pullman neighborhood, police said. The man was pronounced dead on the scene. Police released no details about the shooting but said a person of interest was being questioned. He was later identified as Jon Shupe, of Lansing, Illinois.

Let all sincere xtians be bold to preach it so that our ignorant brothers/sisters will no more be led astray!
Polygamy isnt Gods Will, run away from it, it will leave a bitter taste!
However, if you are already in it, repent and turn to God, restitute and stick only to the 'wife of your youth, let her breast satisfy you'...Let the strange women leave, if they had children for you, provide them accommodation and take responsibilities for all your children.
God blesses the repentant heart!
All single ladies, dont be caught in the web! Polygamy is unpopular and God detests it!

Girls of today marry 28+ definitely not youth. Guys are subconsciously attracted to youth and fertility. To keep the biblical injunction women must therefore marry younger..
Romance / Re: What's Your Ideal Age Difference For Couples? by Obalende: 3:29pm On Feb 10, 2017
The 25+ marriage regime for girls should come to an end. the 35+ marriage regime for guys as well should end. I believe marriage was designed to be done young not something u do after being with multile partners. no one is a fool.Contrary to popular belief marriage & school are not incompatible. i believe my wife should be younger than me by 4-10 years.

i asked GTBank, it is true. max rate for 1 million - 10 million is about 5%.

What CBN is doing is aligning Nigeria with the global economy. Nothing more nothing less. They have set rates similar to USA, Canada and UK so that Nigeria will not be out of line with these countries. CBN is being controlled by the west and all of their policies reflect this. Did you know that all Nigerian banks are also now required to report to IRS (Internal Revenue Service) of the USA? Its called FATCA.

Anyway this development is good; I was thinking of investing in Nigeria but the country doesnt want to help itself, so im gonna keep my money where I am :-)
