maclatunji: Women: what have we ever done to you that we have to be afraid of the mischief you will be up to as wives, mothers, sisters, daughters, professional colleagues etc. Why are your minds so fickle?

Ignore this post if it doesn't apply to you. I don't have the time for attitude today. angry

Ivynwa: Jesus Christ!

Guess she is trying to kill off the daughter -in-law and make her son marry whichever freaking good girl she has back home for him. What wickedness is that? High time somebody taught mothers to quit intruding in their children's life. What the heck is that?

Biggups to that sharp wife, you can't go wrong with a detective mind. Wheeeww! God and her sharp mind saved her.
i believe very strongly that God wanted to oust this MIL, because what are the odds really that my friend came out of the bathroom at the right time , had the wisdom to leave the shower running thus giving the impression she was in the shower. So she was there long enough to see the MIL remove the substance and put it in the food and thank God we are in the UK, the husband in as much as he believed his wife, had the resource to test the food, so there is written proof that indeed there was foreign substance in the food . Its all very home vidoe-ish but real

Gaggi: Tales. I think the theme has been over-flogged by nollywood people already. The lady is probably giving the MIL a bad name to hang her. I can bet that the said MIL is an old, illiterate poor woman...lol. Go try accusing a sophisticated, literate, rich MIL like that if dem born u well. Wicked wifey.
Gaggi may God not allow you see such so you can believe that things like these are happening not just in home videos but in real life , this person is a close friend of mine and i know what i'm saying. i myself could not believe it when she was telling me this story, True they have never gotten along but when 2 spirits don't agree they don't agree, a wicked person is a wicked person it really doesn't matter whether sophisticated or not .
FamilyRe: Mother- In- Law Wahala - What Would You Do If Your Mum Did This ? by obi123(op):
moremi2008: This is shocking! What kind of MIL is this? Thank God for deliverance. Your friend needs to tighten her belt of prayers; this MIL is not going to stop after this. How can you go into your son's home to poison his wife and the mother of his children? Is she insane? I think your friend should get her arrested so it's in the government records and nobody can deny it. Mama needs to spend a few years in jail to re-think her life and seek God's forgiveness. What she tried to do is unforgivable.
My friend has been in prayers on hearing of her intended visit to their house , she even paid someone to house sit while she and her husband were at work and the kids were at nursery , just so that the MIL will not be alone at home , i believe she suspected that the woman was capable of doing something like this and as predicted she did.

Bottom line God will not abandon his children, my friend was at the right place at the right time
MY PEOPLE WEAR YOUR ARMOUR OF PRAYER AT ALL TIMES, THINGS ARE HAPPENING

taryour: y on earth would she want to kill her son wife and her own grandchildren....... Is she a witch.... Dis is so baffling
actually the food in question was prepared solely for my friend , she is on a vegetable diet so she doesn't eat what the family eats . the woman obviously knew that the pot of vegetable was for my friend but having said that , she could have cleared the whole family because nothing stops the kids from eating with mummy or even the husband, her son.

REAL LIFE!!!!! happened just yesterday here in Scotland
FamilyRe: Mother- In- Law Wahala - What Would You Do If Your Mum Did This ? by obi123(op):
feminine A: First thing first send her back home as a matter of urgency and to prevent future occurrence put a distance between the mom and his family. That food would have wiped the whole family out. Which kind mil is that? The hubby should report his mum to his family back at home showing them evidence of the fOod poison.
To prevent her from telling tales and breeding hatred for his wife
As expected the woman had already started calling the world that she was pushed out of the house and was insulted by my friend, they were inundated with phone calls from Naija yesterday all expressing their displeasure at my friend maybe now they will shut up .

this is why some people are not receptive towards families in law generally, thank Goodness at least there is scientific proof of a foreign substance in the food and science does not lie.
FamilyMother- In- Law Wahala - What Would You Do If Your Mum Did This ? by obi123(op):
my very good friend in Scotland told me ysdty that she caught her mother in law when she was trying to put something in her food, they don't get along and she came from naija for holiday , and that ystdy when she wanted to have her shower , her 2 kids were in the sitting room, her mother in law was in her room.
While she was in the shower, she heard the kitchen door open and Something told her to come out of the shower and see who opened it , she came out of the bathroom but she left the shower running , so the mother in law obviously thought she was still in the bathroom, that is how my friend walked towards the kitchen door and in full view , there was her mother- in- law standing over her pot of food ,taking something from her wrapper and sprinkling it into the food .
She startled the woman and the thing dropped , her mother in law picked it up and ran out of the house .
Immediately , my friend called her husband and reported the incident, told him that the mum cannot return to the house or else she will leave with the kids .
The poor man called his mum to find out what had happened and as expected she told him all sorts of stories , anyway he paid for her to stay the night at a bed and breakfast , in the mean time my friend had packed all her belongings and thrown it outside .
This morning the husband who is a scientist took the food to the lab and it contained very high level of aspergillus quadrilineatus aka some sort of toxins that's very lethal.
FamilyRe: She Said My Father Touched Her. by obi123: 1:45pm On Apr 03, 2012
Coldfeet: cry cry cry I asked for candid opinion so i won't react to those dissing me! I'll make some clarification though, my cousin is 15, my mum is still very much around, my parents are with me because my mum just had an operation so can't involve my mum, my cousin has insisted on leaving but I've told her to hold on at least after her waec but in the mean time am sending her to an aunts house, will use the Easter holiday as a guise! I've decided to confront my dad! (Won't be easy) when? am not sure! My husband knowing about my jazz involvement was purely circumstantial! There was no way otherwise! He didn't judge me! Which was overwhelming for me as it is then! I should have told him about my assault but I thought it unnecessary! He'll definitely know now as i intend telling him tonight when i discuss my cousins case with him. Will update you guys on that. Thanks for all the posts i appreciate.
Truth be told it will not be easy but God's speed, you will definitely be making a difference
FamilyRe: She Said My Father Touched Her. by obi123: 4:34pm On Apr 02, 2012
taryour: pls send her away shap shap,to save ur dad disgrace n shame if its true he did dat
yes this is the type of comment that will not take us into the 21st century, how can you actually type such bull, instead of making tangible suggestions as to how this molester(sorry poster but that's the truth he is a molester)can be stopped and disgraced you are talking about how to save the animal from disgrace so never the mind the victim abi? .

first of all, it must have taken guts for this person to confide in you this way so she is obviously hoping that you will do something about it which is why she approached you knowing your relationship with her molester.

@coldfeet If the victim was your daughter how would you deal with this ? ask yourself and don't deal with it any differently just because your dad is involved.

i will personally confront my dad , sending her away will not stop him,he will most probably move on to the next person he obviously has a problem and he will not stop unless he is stopped , either way his disgrace and shame is coming everyday na for the thief one day will surely come for the owner.

FamilyRe: How Was Your First Year Of Marriage? by obi123: 12:00pm On Mar 23, 2012
ZUBY77: My first one week, i was busy blaming those who didn't attend the marriage ceremony.
Then the second week, i recalled that we recieved some envelops from people with money inside all of them. Then i approached mrs zuby who was in custody of the envelopes for us to check how rich we have beçome only to be told that the job has been done already by her and her mother. The reason being that they didnt want to stress me by inviting me to count money.cheesy igbo girls.

Third week, i was busy thinking about the best way to tell mrs zuby to go back to her parents until she puts all the money back to the envelops exactly the way it was.
Fourth week, i devised a plan to make her pay for the petrol for our generator. She likes electricity so much. So i will check the generator every morning and each time the petrol is finished, i will stay outside until 8am, by then she must have called to remind me what i already knew. And i will tell her to drive to the station and buy petrol. Now the money from the envelop is going down fast and she is complaining.

Aside this little envelop adventure, we are happy people.
honestly you must be a character to be with, a funny one, mrs Zuby is lucky
FamilyRe: How Was Your First Year Of Marriage? by obi123: 10:07am On Mar 23, 2012
davidylan: threads like this are good for those of us on the sidelines. The only reason i havent married now is because of paralyzing fear . . . fear that i might make a mistake, fear that she may not be the one, that i may stop loving her after a few yrs.
I have learnt in the last couple of yrs that indeed no woman is perfect, that the type of woman we envision in our heads exists only in the realm of fantasy, that loving someone is not so much a feeling as it is a conscious decision, that you know you truly love a woman when she has the ability to change your outlook on life and you find yourself developing an uncommon patience for her many flaws, that communication is even more essential to a marriage than sex! shocked

So in the interest of my mother's emotional stability, i have decided to be married in the next 18 months max. grin
i had a good laugh at "in the interest of my mother's emotional stability", well said though, well said
Jokes EtcRe: Oh ! I Miss My Naija by obi123:
i miss those days when we would go to lesson after school in groups.

i miss those days when a visitor would come to my house give me money and my mumsy would collect it, the day i ask for it is the day she would list all the things she used the money for, the bournvita and milk you have drinking , the retouching you did last week nko? i would nicely shut up jeje.

i miss those days when fetching water was fun because it was an avenue to chat at the tap with my friends , then those bloody tanker people started selling water , i was so upset.

i don't miss report card day sha.

i don't miss that my daddy made me do all the possible exams in naija when he already knew what school i was going to after primary school, he said it was practice but i hated it as it just seemed i was always studying for one exam or the other

Christianity EtcRe: Why Do Youths Leave The Catholic Church? by obi123: 10:16am On Mar 13, 2012
well maybe they are searching for something else than the catholic church is offering , The catholic church has a distinct way of worship which might not appeal to youths of today , but I've experienced other churches and made the firm decision to never to leave the catholic church.
i was born into a catholic family , its my choice to remain catholic and would never consider leaving the catholic church because it offers me what i want for my spiritual life.
i guess the most important thing is as long as you worship God the best way you can ,u are pretty much good to go, not sure it will matter on the last day
PoliticsRe: Can Our Leaders Do This In Nigeria (pix Attached) by obi123: 12:08pm On Mar 09, 2012
Jakumo:
No chit.  A Nigerian village politician would have been accompanied by three personal assistants, five armed security guards in dark sunglasses and ill-fitting suits, a spiritual adviser, several mistresses and wives, one aide carrying his bag, another carrying his coat, another herding away passers-by, yet another walking behind to elbow aside people trying to join the entourage, and finally, a delegation of the politician's inlaws and their extended families, all enormously fat and loud-voiced.
your post made me laugh honestly, especially the person thats just there to elbow people aside and spiritual adviser. Nigerians are one of a kind

EventsBudget weddings are in-“A tight budget forces you to be creative with ideas.” by obi123(op): 8:59pm On Feb 21, 2012
Unless you are in the running for the best wedding on the planet budget budget budget!!!
There’s nothing more stressful than knowing you’ll start married life with a huge debt

some tips:

-Look for local venues

-Rent a wedding gown instead of buying and be stuck with a dress you might not wear again, alternatively buy a very simple wedding gown but have it beaded or embellish by your local tailor (be creative jare !)

-For obvious reasons be VERY ruthless with your guest list, do not be held to ransom by family members  ( less people = less everything= more money in the bank + less headache)

-Consider simple wedding invitations without engraving as long as it states who is getting married ,where and   when, you are good to go, also ever heard of text invites they are so in right now (be creative jare!)
