Jobs/VacanciesRe: Why People Dont Get Jobs by obi123:
Jobexpert: There are many reasons why many applicants dont get jobs and we are going to treat them one by one. But to make the messages short, I will handle the discussion as a stage by stage thing.

Imagine getting an application with an attachment and all that it says is

Imagine that you are dealing with vacancies for about say 20 positions, and your email box was choked up with 1500 emails applying for the job, what would you do with an email like the above?

Sometimes, we eliminate about 1200 straightaway who did not apply but want us to open the attachment and start reading so that we can decide for them what they should be applying for...so quite a number are eliminated not because they dont qualify but because they are lazy.

LESSON 1: ALWAYS APPLY PROPERLY BY EMAIL, INCLUDING A SUBJECT AND MSG SUMMARIZING UR APPLICATION, IF POSSIBLE ALSO SEND A HARDCOPY TO THE OFFICE ADDRESS PREFERABLY BY HAND
A simple sample cover letter that should accompany your CV

EducationRe: How Did You Spend Your Time After Graduation? by obi123: 12:10pm On Aug 21, 2012
Acidosis: Keep on learning
°Tailoring
°Events management
°Catering most especially cakes
etc.
By learning any of these handwork, you're securing a future for yourself. Try it now & Thank me later.
this is A+ advise right here oh,right now i have an excellent job but i cant bake to save my life(paid £22 to make simple 10inch sponge cake for a bridal shower over the wknd) and even at gun point i cant sew(i paid £45 to a tailor just this wknd for simple skirt and blouse and it hurt) , i have now realized that these are life long skills that everyone should learn, my sister has not been able to find a job since the end of her NYSC but learnt how to bake and right now she has at least 4 cake orders every wk, which i think is amazing considering that she only enrolled in a 2mth baking course in Lagos there.
Just bought her a solid mixer to encourage her in her cake business no point working for people if you have skills that are in demand in my opinion

ijebabe: For those of you running your fingers and asking who he is, please if you are THAT interested then look him up. There have been other threads about him on NL.
He is not very good looking grin but I admire him for his initiative and entrepreneurial spirit making me proud whenever he appears on the news. This year has been good for him and I hope he has many more.

There are others like him making us proud so I see no reason to hate on him? Isn't there enuf bad PR about Nigerians abroad? Na wa o!
Godbless you ijebabe!!!

TravelRe: My Sister Is Suffering In London - Please Advise! by obi123: 3:09pm On Aug 16, 2012
no vex oh , since ur Sister's tuition was paid, was she not working and saving what should have been her tuition? that way be able to afford at least part of the tuition if asked to resit a module?
in any case she should appeal first and see what happens but if her accusation is racially founded than she must have enough evidence and if possible have people who can testify but truth be told that wont fly,it rarely does if i have to honest especially as your sister clearly has not followed simple instruction unfortunately she is in the minority because if a considerable number of students committed this same offense then maybe some consideration could be given.
FamilyRe: What Do You Like About Your Father. by obi123: 4:28pm On Aug 13, 2012
my dad is my number one person , i admire him for his foresight, wisdom, though he can nag for the united kingdom, he is the funniest person i know.
i love how he will flash me when he wants me to call and there's me thinking there's one very important information,i will rush to the corridor at work to call him back only for him to say he flashed to say hello.
i like how he believes, in fact he is convinced that the shaving stick in the UK is better than the one in naija, its usually at the top of my shopping list when i come home.
i like how he groups chocolates ,sweets and the like under toffee.
i love how when he wants to do amebo he starts every sentence with "incidentally".
i like how when he wants attention he will just hint to one of my siblings that there is a way his breathing was the night before , all 8 of us will be bombarding him with calls and visits.
i love how when his grand kids, all 6 of them come to the house for the weekend he will complain till tomorrow of how they have finished the food in the house but secretly i know he loves that they are there and he misses them when they go to their respective homes.
i like how there is never a brief call with him, nothing like daddy this is just a quick call to find out .... , next thing "incidentally" , i know say that my £5 lebara must finish
My dad is amazing , i owe him a lot
